No One's POV

Ally and Kyle are back in Miami and decide meet up with Jordan, Brian, Trish, Dez and Carrie at the WinterCoolFest. It's a night filled with music for people that want to karaoke or songwriters to actually perform their new music and to gain more exposure. Meet our songwriter, Ally. Ally's been honing her craft and becoming more technically and musically advanced while at MUNY this year thus far. As they approach the beach which will have more of a bonfire feel to it...Ally's in a red crop top, dark blue ripped jeans and cute sandals. Kyle wearing a green cotton t-shirt, khaki shorts and sneakers. Ally and Kyle look like a couple that belongs together. The rest of the crew is dressed comfortably, in casual beach attire but not swimwear. Ally lets go of Kyle's hand to run to Trish so she can catch and envelop her in a long overdue hug. Meanwhile, Kyle goes to sit on a log along with Brian and Jordan.

"Hey man, so it's great to see you."

"Jord, it's only been a couple of months."

"Yeah, three months since you and Ally became official." Jordan nudges on one side.

"So, how's that going?" Brian asks on the other side of Kyle, then comments. "You two look really happy. I hope it stays that way."

"Oh, he's happy Bri." Jordan smirks taking off his light jacket and motioning over to Kyle who is grinning like an idiot because he's looking at Ally. "Kyle is definitely in love."

Kyle blushes, "I didn't say that I was."

Brian cuts him off. "You didn't have to. Wait, you just blushed." Normally Kyle would look for the nearest pillow to throw at his friends for teasing him. "We know you bro. You have never been this crazy about a girl before. "

Jordan looks at his friends and speaks loud enough that only the two of them can hear and not others, but directing his attention in Ally and Trish's direction who are smiling and talking to each other.

"I've known for a while, the second you told me you were coming home with Jack early from North Carolina because you were mooning over how much you missed Ally. When I came to visit you that one week, we were surrounded by girls and all you did was talk about Ally. Some of the girls asked if Ally was your girlfriend, I said no. They were obviously disappointed but even they said, "If he's so into her why doesn't he just take the chance if she's all that she wants." You had so many opportunities to get laid, you turned them down."

"And, you didn't call me out on it then?"

It's true before girls Kyle and Jordan's friendship comes first, honestly if Jordan were to be honest while he was interested in Ally back when they were in school he was really Kyle's wing-man.

"Dude, we're bros. You gave up going to Princeton for the opportunity to be close to Ally. Does she know that? Does she know that you could have kept the peace in the family?"

"It's not an issue with my parents anymore. I've talked to them about it. They had plenty of time to get over it."

Brian speaks up, "Wait, you never mentioned that she was a factor? Seriously. You definitely love her. I'm sure it didn't hurt that Columbia really was your number one choice either."

"It honestly is such an awesome school. I'm loving it there."

"Are you liking the college experience so far?" Kyle asks.

Jordan answers, "It's a lot of work, but I've already been asked to pledge a fraternity."

Brian is really curious and just wants to check on his friend, "So, things are good with you two? Sorry, I just don't want you to get hurt. You remember what Dez said to us when we watched Austin and Ally at the piano?"

"Yeah, but I can tell that she misses Austin even if she's adamant about how much she doesn't even want to hear his name."

"Well, Dez said that Austin's loved her for a really long time. I'm not saying that you don't have a shot at a long-term relationship with her, but just consider things man."

"How does that make you feel?" Jordan questions.

"Well, I know that she cares about me, but it's rough because well you guys know how I feel about her and she doesn't. I feel like she might feel the same way about me, but I honestly don't know."

We're sitting on a log in the middle of the beach and the logs are strategically placed to form a large circle. We're close enough to the ocean to feel the breeze, but far enough that the crashing of the waves doesn't make it difficult to talk or sing.

The conversation between the guys ceases briefly, Ally takes a seat next to Kyle once Brian gets up and moves to another open spot on a different log adjacent to them. "Babe, you're going to sing right?"

"Um, well there's a song I wrote a while ago that I'd like to sing and try out."

"One I've heard before?"

"Not yet."

Taylor Swift: If This Was a Movie

Last night I heard my own heart beating

Sounded like footsteps on my stairs

Six months gone and I'm still reaching

Even though I know you're not there

I was playing back a thousand memories, baby

Thinking 'bout everything we've been through

Maybe I've been going back too much lately

When time stood still and I had you

A single tear falls down Ally's cheek, she closes her eyes and sings the hook and chorus. She starts to reflect on everything she's been through with Austin. All of the memories and their story comes flooding back. How he fought Dallas to protect her, when Dallas broke up with her Austin carried her to his car. He was her knight in shining armor.

Come back, come back, come back to me like

You would, you would if this was a movie

Ally doesn't think that any of this would actually happen, she is just dreaming of how it would be if her life was a movie.

Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out

Come back, come back, come back to me like

You could, you could if you just said you're sorry

I know that we could work it out somehow

But if this was a movie you'd be here by now

She reopens her eyes to deliver the next verse in the song.

I know people change and these things happen

But I remember how it was back then

Wrapped up in your arms and our friends were laughing

There was a time when Ally couldn't even take Austin seriously because he only went on 'dates' with girls but his relationships never lasted. Ally pulling Austin into the shower completely clothed causes her to blush for a moment, but she frowns because that's not what happened.

'Cause nothing like this ever happened to them,

Now I'm pacing down the hall, chasing down your street

New Years Eve when Ally chased after Austin and she tended his bloody knuckles when he punched a hole in his wall. She thinks about how she doesn't mind Austin acting possessive but it irritates the shit out of her when other guys are. How she really doesn't mind him being jealous because that shows her that he actually gives a fuck about it.

Flashback to the night when you said to me,

"Nothing's gonna change, not for me and you

Not before I knew how much I had to lose"

Something that she wished he would have said to her before she broke up with him and before he left for tour.

Chorus

Come back, come back, come back to me like

You would, you would if this was a movie

Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out

Come back, come back, come back to me like

You could, you could if you just said you're sorry

I know that we could work it out somehow

But if this was a movie you'd be here by now

Bridge

If you're out there,

If you're somewhere,

If you're moving on,

I've been waiting for you.

Ever since you've been gone

I just want it back the way it was before.

And I just wanna see you back at my front door.

And I say

Ally reminisces about their intense love making sessions and while sex is great with Kyle...it's just not the same. She knows that she cares about Kyle, but in love? She's not so sure, that's probably because deep down her heart is still with Austin. She yearns to be touched by and kissed by him again, though she will never out-rightly admit such a preposterous thing. If she's being totally honest, she misses the feeling of when you're with your best friend and in love you're playful. Her relationship with Kyle...is great but the playful banter just doesn't measure up. Kyle's not her best friend. Austin is. Or he was. She isn't really sure.

Come back, come back, come back to me like

You would before you said it's not that easy

Before the fight, before I locked you out

She remembers when she said to Austin that she needed space. She's had space now, six months to be exact and she wishes that she would have done things differently when he was here..with her. He had said that it's not that easy to just not talk and not be around her, she can't help but wonder if that still rang true.

But I take it all back now

Come back, come back, come back to me like

You would, you would if this was a movie

Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out

Come back, come back, come back to me like

You could, you could if you just said you're sorry

I know that we could work it out somehow

But if this was a movie you'd be here by now

The sorrow and the pain in her voice evident, tears glistening in her eyes and threatening to fall at any moment.

You'd be here by now

It's not the kind of ending you wanna see now

Baby, what about the ending

Oh, I thought you'd be here by now, whoa

Thought you'd be here by now

The song ends and Ally walks back over to Kyle as everyone cheers for her. He pulls her back down onto the log with him and he kisses her shoulder, whispering into her ear at first,

"Ally..we should talk, there's something I want to tell you but I need to know-"

That certainly got her attention, she turns her body still on his lap to face him. She cuts him off, he's relieved for a second because this isn't easy for him. "Ky?"

He answers her, "That song...it was great. I need you to be honest with me, do you still love him? Because I love you, Ally."

Ally's silent, she should seem stunned, but she really isn't. She honestly felt that he had felt this way but she was still undecided, and now?

"And that's not all. I gave up Princeton." He pauses swallowing loudly as she just looks at him searching for the reason he would do that, when he answers with, "to be close to you. It was a major factor in my decision."

What Ally and Kyle don't know is that Austin just heard what Kyle said, but he doesn't care. She's his. He's her best friend. She's the love of his life.

"Kyle - I" She starts, but immediately ceases when a voice is heard one that she would recognize the second he opens his mouth and starts singing.

"Austin?" He take a deep breath, looks up at her, giving himself the now or never pep talk, and starts singing. He doesn't need to introduce himself because he just came back from his tour. Well known, even if he is lonely and missing his other half like crazy. He hasn't been partying like most would think. Austin's been spending his down time working out and getting even more physically fit than he already is. She notices he's in a baby blue polo and dark grey khakis paired with a pair of Tom's. He looks good, his hair is different a tad shorter, out of his face, slightly flipped up, but still very much Austin. Her Austin. She can't believe that he's actually only a few feet right in front of her. She wonders if he's alone or with a female companion and she doesn't seem to see anyone mooning over her Moon. She gets lost just staring absentmindedly as Kyle guides them back to sit down on the log protectively pulling Ally into his lap. Ally's nervous, feeling all sorts of things she didn't realize she could still feel. Scared, she nuzzles herself into Kyle's chest as we attentively listens to Austin sing.

R5: All Night

We're stayin' all night
Got blue jean baby playing in my mind
She gets me so high
Givin me faith I gotta testify

He looks up and smiling into the sky.

Uh
And the way that she walks I cant hide it
If I said I don't like it I'm lyin'

He sings, Ally looks up and makes eye contact with Austin, he points to her, she starts to feel her pulse race. When she felt her heart start beating again last night out of nowhere.

Hold tight (yeah)
A little bit of love will change your life

He winks at her, starts to squirm in Kyle's lap. Kyle tries to comfort her and kisses her shoulder, but she doesn't notice. She's completely entranced by Austin's singing.

She said I'm outta my head I'm going outta my mind
And when I'm out on the edge will you save me

Ally remembers how many times she told Austin that she was going crazy and that when there was no bringing her back...would he save her?

The answer has always been..

Yes.

Save me
Can we live for the moment
Can you live for tonight
Can we forget what was broken an say say say we'll be
All right

Austin looks up and makes a bold move walking over to Ally. He sees that Kyle is is saying something to her and overhears it the closer he gets to them.

"Ally listen, I love you and I want you to be happy."

She interrupts him and she looks like she's going to cry, "You do make me happy."

"I know." He sighs, "I know that I make you happy, but that's not enough. Not for me. I'm in love with you and so is Austin, the only difference is... you're still in love with him. Its always been Austin...Ally, let's be honest."

She stammers, "Kyle, I never, I mean, you know that I-"

"You love Austin. I know that you care, maybe even love me too, but it's not the way that you love him."

"I don't k-" Kyle presses his lips to Ally's, stopping her from giving him the it's not you it's me excuse, he doesn't want that. So, instead he's giving her a kiss that is truly bittersweet. She's crying, he's wiping the tears away and then his hands are in her hair. Kissing her goodbye and letting her know that he's truly and sincerely in love with her, but he deserves more. He deserves her completely, and he knows with this kiss that she's truly not. Is he pissed that Austin came back? Sure. Who wouldn't be? Especially since Kyle knows if Ally had more time away from Austin that maybe he could have been the guy for her really, truly, long term. That's right. Kyle Johnson, long-term relationship in the same sentence would make anyone do a double take.

But, he did want it with Ally.

When he pulls away she's stunned to say that very least. "Ky, are you?"

He nods his head and it sinks in for Ally that Kyle's breaking up with her. She gasps, she really is surprised. It never even registered in her mind that Kyle would be the one to break up with her.

No way, Jose. And he just confessed that he's in love with her on the same night? Wtf.

She's angry at him, but not really, because when she pauses for a second before overreacting, she sees where he's coming from. She searches his eyes as he continues to hold her briefly. Kyle's hand is brushing against Ally's cheek and her eyes are closed. "I'm going to miss you." Kyle kisses her cheek.

"I'll miss you too. I'll miss this, us, but you want him." His words were broken, his heart was broken, Kyle didn't need to cry though. Not in front of all those people, she knew how much she meant to him. She embraces him and he holds onto her tightly, all with Austin and everyone else at the bonfire watching.

Austin resumes his mission pulling her off of Kyle's lap. Jordan starts to react, Kyle stops him from punching Austin in the face for both Kyle and Ally. Austin's surprised to say the least. Kyle doesn't even try to fight him on it and he's not sure why, until he hears Kyle say to Ally.

"It's okay babe. Go." He smiles that reassuring beautiful smile of his that she's gotten used to.

Kyle let's Ally go, Ally is pulled to her feet. She turns to look back at him to see Jordan and Brian both on each side of him. The three of them get up seeing that their friend is in pain, that this will only make it harder on him.

She turns in the direction Austin's pulling her which happens to be back into the center as he serenades her.

Cause even if we change we'll always be the same

All Night
I promise if you stay we'll never fade away
All Night

And now it's midnight and I can feel your electricity

He takes Ally's hand and twirls her, literally feeling the electricity when he touches her lower back.

(mmm)
Give me that skin tight

Checking her out shamelessly in her all too skin tight skinny jeans. And he feels himself to harden. Who could blame him? She looks seriously hot.

Good girls ain't ever makin' history

She laughs shaking her head at him, he grins that Austin Moon grin at her, she feels her walls come down little by little.

Nope

And we'll dance in the streets till the morning
Never sleep when the city is callin'

They did dance in the streets to just the music beating in their heads countless times. Staying up all hours of the night just talking for years. She missed that, if she's being honest she missed him. A lot. Here's the thing though, will she tell him this?

Hold tight
A little bit of love will change your life

He kisses her on the cheek.

(change your life)
She said I'm outta my head I'm going outta my mind
And when I'm out on the edge will you save me
Save me
Can we live for the moment
Can we live for tonight
Can we forget what was broken and say say say we'll be
All right
Cause even if we change we'll always be the same
All night
I promise if you stay we'll never fade away
All night

He takes both of Ally's hands as he continues to serenade her with promises he can keep.

'We'll be all right'
'We'll be all right'
'We'll be all right'
'We'll be all right'
And we got nothing but time
(we'll be all right)
To make the most of this life
(we'll be all right)
Take on the wrongs and the rights
(we'll be all right)
Forget them all and just say say say
ohh wont you say it now
We'll be all right
All right

He's pleading with her and asking for forgiveness looking for some sort of indicator that she will. He doesn't see it not yet.

Cause even if we change we'll always be the same

Best friends. No matter what. They wouldn't ever forget that ever again. Austin's not worried though because if he does get his girl back then all this pain has been worth it.

All night
I promise if you stay we'll never fade away
All right
Cause even if we change we'll always be the same
All Night
I promise if you stay we'll never fade away
All Night
All Night

The song ends and everyone's cheering. He moves the guitar out of the way, passing it off to Dez? He's not really sure because the next thing he knows is that the guitar isn't in sight, but he's sure it's safe.

He's anxious, nervous, because he's at the point where he's dying to touch her, hug her, kiss her...that is, if she'll let him.

"It's been a long six months. I want you for worse and for better. I would wait forever if I had to. I know that I have to put your heart back together, so let me. Ally, the only one thing I want is you. You're all I want. I'm so sorry for everything. Please give me another chance."

"I've missed you too. You should have come home sooner."

"I know Ally, I should have, I'm here now. Time away from you has been really rough. I promise if you stay, we'll never fade away. I'll never let my career get in the way of us. I love you, Ally."

Those words, the first time she's heard I love you in person from him in six months, but that's not all. She's overwhelmed but at peace at the same time. She can't seem to place this feeling, perhaps euphoria?

Yeah, that's it.

Austin fishes around in his pocket and pulls out a box. Not just any box. A ring box.

She flinches, her heart starts beating faster. Chanting the words Oh My God over and over again in her mind.

He opens the box and the tears just start coming down in a waterfall. "This ring is a promise. A promise that in the future not too far into the future that you're the only one I want to be Mrs. Austin Moon. You, Ally. No one else. I'm taking a huge leap of faith here doing this in front of everyone. Be mine again Ally, not because I can live without you, but because I honestly don't want to."

"On one condition, do you promise not to break my heart again?"

"I'll never make that mistake again. You're all I want. I promise Baby. So?"

She nods her head yes, "You can put that ring on me moon, then kiss me."

Austin places the ring as a placement on her finger with their birthstones in the shape of a heart on each side, a ruby for Ally's and a topaz for Austin, with their names engraved on the front.

Its been a long six months since he's kissed the love of his life. The kiss is filled with a passion that many can't begin to imagine... sweet, at first, then raw, purely raw passion, heating up their bodies with onlookers clearing their throats, and it starts to rain while he's kissing her, extinguishing the bonfire while he's kissing her, but he could care less, because they're finally 'home' in each others arms. Even though the rain extinguished the fire, it ignited their passion and desire for each other in a way they didn't really think was possible.

Austin pulls away first, "Huh, you know I didn't think that I could love you more, but I was wrong."

She giggles, "Well, it looks like I got what I wanted for Christmas after all. Let's get out of here." So, what might have started out as a friendship, the fire in their hearts for each other burns much more, like Austin sang

Hold Tightttttt

A little bit of love will change your life.

The End.

A.N: Thanks for all the support guys, the love and the reviews. I adore you. That concludes this story, you better believe I will be focusing on Careless Heart as soon as I physically can. I poured my heart into this ending so I hope you love it as much as I do.
