AN. I'm only going off of what I saw in the show. I don't know their back-stories and their family histories. So I'm making it up.

Chapter 3

That night they slept in the little cave, taking turns to keep watch. Jojen stayed up when it was Aldara's turn and they whispered throughout the night.

"Did you ever have a family?" Jojen asked. "Like a mom and dad?"

"I don't think so." She wondered. "I don't remember anything but this. I've always been …like this. I remember dragons. And stars. No parents. What did your parents do when you just left?"

"My mum wasn't around. She passed away years ago. My father was hoping King Rob would win the war. When I told him we're leaving to save the world, he thought we were joking."

"I can understand that. You're just kids."

"I'm the same age as king Joffrey." He said, offended. She giggled.

"He's a toddler in a tiara. He had no right to govern the seven kingdoms."

"How old are you?" Jojen asked.

"How old do I look?" She asked him.

After staring at her for a while he lifted his hand and held her chin, tilting her face from side to side as if examining her.

"About a thousand years old." He joked. "I think you're the same age as me."

"I'd guess that about accurate." She smiled. He still held her chin and stroked her cheek before letting go.

"I'm old enough to become a father." He whispered. She gave him a long sideways glance.

"You would make a great one." She finally said. "They way you are with Bran, it speaks volumes to how you would be as a dad. You're very gentle and kind."

"I bet you'd make a great mother." He countered. "You probably know everything."

She smiled and looked away.

"I wish I could have that life." She said. "But I am destined for something different."

"You said nothing happened by accident. Well, what if you were supposed to be someone's mother… Someone's wife?" Jojen asked.

"Then I suppose it would just happen." she glanced at him. He quickly leaned forward and kissed her swiftly.

"Like that?" he asked. She laughed.

"Yeah. I guess like that."
