Hey guys, long time no write! I will be finishing this little adventure soon, as I am writing other fanfics and need to not be stressing about this all the time. I am going to accept three more prompts before closing this down. Thank you to all who have read this. If I am suddenly inspired, I may write a chapter here and there, but there won't be any regular updates.

Okay, so this is set a while ago. Just go with it. This is around… um, episode 13?

EddieSpaghetti- I finally got around to writing this! I hope you like it!

DISCLAIMER- I DO NOT OWN THE FLASH OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS!

Barry ran across the water, his mind focused on one thing and one thing only. A few minutes ago, the news of several people being held captive came to their attention. Cisco had quickly tracked down where they were being kept, and was racing as fast as he could.

As he approached the abandoned building, he slowed down, becoming more cautious as he entered the giant room. Oliver had chewed him out after he may or may not have ran straight into a bomb when going into a mysterious dark room.

"Hello?" he called, glancing around. There was no one there, but the room was big and filled with junk around the edges. He walked into the middle of the room and did a three sixty, raising his hand to his comm.

"Guys." he said. "I think you got the wrong address. There's no one he-"

Suddenly footsteps came from behind him. He whirled around to see a police officer carrying a gun. He spun around, seeing at least a dozen other men armed to the teeth surrounding him. He froze, careful to not make any threatening moves.

Cisco checked in. "Hey, dude, you okay?"

Barry quietly replied, "Uh, this may take a minute."

Then, to his somewhat surprise, Eddie walked out behind a crate, he himself holding a handgun.

"Hands in the air! Don't move or we will shoot." he commanded. Barry sighed. He could speed out, but with the number of guards near the door, he didn't want to risk it. Sure, he had speed healing, but if he was honest with himself, he had enough of people shooting things at him. Cough *Oliver* cough.

He raised his hands into the air, facing Eddie, who was slowly approaching him. Not two feet away was Captain Singh, his face serious an arms crossed over his chest. He was thankful that it was dark in the almost windowless room and no one could make out the features on his face.

Barry sighed, disguising his voice as he asked, "What do you want?"

The captain asked none too nicely, "We want to make sure you are not a threat." Eddie nodded.

Barry protested, "When have I ever hurt someone?" When Eddie glared at him, he quickly added, "Don't answer that." He was becoming nervous, and it wasn't helping that Caitlin was yelling in his ear. It was only when Dr. Wells asked him what was going on when he answered.

"Uh, I really can't talk to you now, I'll tell you later." he said hurriedly, pressing the comm on his ear.

Singh smirked at him. "So. You have a team. That's interesting." he paused. "I'll tell you what, Flash. Detective Thawne and I want to talk to you and then you are free to leave. Deal?" he asked pointedly.

Barry paused, thinking 'What would Joe do here?' He took a breath, then replied, "Make it only the three of us and it's a deal." The Captain stared at him. "Fine." he said, waving the task force away and out the door. Barry shifted his weight, looking away for a moment and then back.

"Well?" Barry asked, his face revealing nothing about what he was thinking. Eddie strode up to him and gave him a hard look.

Captain Singh said, "Why do you run around Central City saving people?" he asked, figuring that he had to start somewhere.

Barry was surprised. He hadn't expected that particular question to come up yet. It was bound to be asked sooner or later, but still. He took a breath, then answered, "Well, I have this gift and I can actually do something about it. Saving people, I mean. I didn't have an easy childhood, and I don't want anyone else to go through what I had to." He was a little shocked at how easy the answer came to him, but kept a straight face.

"I want to protect the city, especially from metas." Oops. Did he really just say that? He felt like banging his head against the wall.

Eddie stared at him. "Wait. You know about them too?"

The Captain turned to face him, a frown on his face. "He know's about what too?" he asked pointedly.

If possible, Eddie looked even more embarrassed than Barry felt. He lost his usual cool tone and said, "Um, Joe told me about meta-humans." Singh asked shortly, "And would you care to explain?"

Barry cut in. He might as well tell them as he had the most knowledge. "Meta-humans. People who were affected by the Particle Accelerator explosion. Most of them have been not so nice, and there have been only three- no, four?" What would Firestorm count as? He finally decided on four. "Including me that are not bent on destroying the city, and, uh, one of them died."

The cops gave him sympathetic looks before Singh asked another question. "And are you one of these… metas?" Barry sighed, slowly nodding his head. Eddie's eyes softened as he watched the Flash sadly admit that he was not normal.

Captain Singh decided that, even if the Flash said he was good, he needed real evidence. Meaning a name.

"I am going to say it outright." he started. "I want to know who you are. Even though you say that you are good and protect the city, I'm a cop. Everyone is a suspect until proven innocent, so to speak, and you are no exception." Barry widened his eyes as the Captain continued. "We will keep the task force in place until you tell us who you are."

Barry's mind was whirling. What should he do? It would be easier to run away, but it would be just as cowardly in his opinion. He was really starting to understand why Oliver really hated telling people and often resorted to violent methods to hide it. Except he wasn't Oliver, he was Barry Allen.

He paused, turning to look out of a window for a moment. Did he really want to do this?

"Fine. But you cannot tell anyone about this, alright?" They looked at each other, surprised that he would agree so quickly. Eddie shrugged, gesturing for him to go ahead.

He slowly raised his mask, then lifted his head to let them see. Eddie froze, and Singh gasped. "Allen?" Singh asked.

Barry nodded, his face neutral. He was incredibly nervous, his heart beating a hundred miles an hour (which it might as well have been).

The awkward silence was broken by Cisco on his comm. "Hey, dude, I hate to interrupt whatever is going on, but there's a robbery just a few blocks away at the jewelry store… so…" he trailed. Barry smiled faintly. "Okay, I'll get on that." He turned to the cops. "I'll be right back."

He zipped away and handcuffed the robber, who, was thankfully not a meta. He then carried him to the building and set him down and tied him to a chair a few feet from Eddie. The blonde cop jumped, startled by the sudden appearance.

"Wha…?" he asked.

Barry smiled, trying not to laugh. "Robbery. You're welcome." Singh looked like he was going to faint. Barry ran a hand through his hair, suddenly staggering. Eddie stepped forward to help him.

"Are you okay?" he asked. Barry nodded, the dizzy spell having passed.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I need to eat something though." When they looked confused, he said, "Hypoglycemia. I need a lot of calories."

All the Captain said was "Hmm."

Barry held in yet another laugh. "I may or may not have stolen your sandwich." Singh just stared.

Yet again, Cisco came up on his comm. "Cisco. Hey. Really? Fine." he said. He sighed, a smile tugging on his lips. "Apparently, I have to go get pizza for the team." Eddie grinned too, nodded as Barry sped off.

Singh just looked at the spot where he was standing seconds before and said, "Great. He leaves us to deal with this guy."
