At lunch, Allen really felt the need to sit down next to Lavi...or find Lavi...but on the other hand, he wanted to sit as far away as possible away from Lavi. He wanted the redhead to stop making him feel so...weird. But, Road was persistent on making him sit with her and the others. He even tried to use the excuse of needing to use the bathroom; but, she just insisted that she would wait for him outside. Allen never knew that friends could be so...

"...annoying..." Road growled and Allen blinked, wondering how she managed to-oh wait, she was talking about someone else. Right...he knew that.

"Um...come again? Sorry, I spaced out a little." Allen apologized with a sheepish smile. Road giggled and ruffled his hair.

"You're so cute."

"Um..." Allen mumbled, unsure of how to reply to that.

"Anyways, I'm sure the others are waiting for us! Come on!" She said excitedly and dragged him by the wrist.

"You're going to make me drop my food..." Allen murmured quietly even though he knew she couldn't hear him.

"Weird. They're not even here yet...oh well. Here, you can sit next to me." She said and forced him to sit down. His food nearly went everywhere.

"Okay..." He said slowly. He already started digging into his soup before Road had the chance to sit down. She sat down on the right of him and the other table was directly to his left...meaning one of the others were going to sit next to him...hopefully not Daisya...Allen shuddered at the thought of the brunet glaring at him as he ate. Tyki and the others filed down in their own seats, chatting about why they were late. Allen wasn't really listening as he usually did. Instead, he found himself scanning the cafeteria for a certain redhead as he sipped from his soup.

"What do you think, Allen?"

Crap. Allen thought to himself. He would feel like a terrible friend if he told them he wasn't listening...but it wasn't like he could just blurt something out because the chance of it being a good answer was slim to none...this was pretty bad...and they were all looking at him expectantly. I need a distraction...a big distraction...

"Yo, Allen! How's it hangin'?"

Oh hey, look, a distraction.

The 'Noah' blinked at him several times as Lavi, the distraction, slung his arm around his shoulders, rambling about things when Allen had never even answered his question to begin with. Then again, he supposed that that was just how Lavi was. "Oh, speaking of, remember when you were talking about helping a dog out of bear trap? Is that that same dog? It's been on my mind all morning and I can't get it out of my head."

"...yes..." Allen said slowly. After answering, Lavi started rambling off again.

"Well...I suppose we know what he thinks now." Devit said awkwardly.

"No way...are you guys..." Tyki mumbled, looking between Allen and Lavi. He could only come up with the idea by the sight of how nervous Allen had suddenly become and the tint of red on his cheeks.

"Are they what?" Devit asked, looking between Tyki and Allen and then Lavi. Lavi blinked along with Devit.

"Are we what?" He asked.

"...never mind." Tyki replied and continued eating his soup, observing them as he did so.

"Riiiight. Anyways," and off went Lavi's voice again. Lenalee looked at everyone uncertainly. It was like Lavi literally couldn't shut up. The last time he was liked this was back when he and Tyki were together. He explained that, weird as it being, he really liked talking to the person that he...liked. So, did that mean...? Lenalee nudged Kanda; and before he could snap at her, she whispered in his ear. Kanda's eye twitched but he listened carefully before looking over at the two. Allen meanwhile could barely keep up with all the questions Lavi was spewing his way.

"I knew it!" Devit suddenly shouted, catching everyone's attention. Tyki was beginning to think that maybe he shouldn't have told his idea to someone with a big mouth. Jasdero, who heard in on the conversation, started giggling. "You guys are dating!"

"What?!" Both Lavi and Allen nearly shouted at the same time.

"No we're not..." Lavi said slowly. Tyki recognized that look on Lavi's face, though. He could tell that, despite his true words, he was giddy that they assumed that they were. It was like that before they got together.

"Allen and Lavi, sitting in a-OW!" Jasdero whined when Allen kicked him under the table and glared darkly at him. Lavi blinked and looked over at Allen curiously.

"What did you...?" Allen simply smiled at him and didn't answer, continuing to eat his soup.

Evil...they all thought.

They do seem like they like each other...Lenalee thought and whispered to Road. Road listened in and nodded before whispering back. They both giggled and continued to talk for the rest of the period. Tyki stared at them incredulously. All of this over Allen and Lavi? Weird...it was like them liking each other brought the two sides together. A brilliant plan began forming through the eldest's head and he whispered to Devit, who whispered to Jasdero, and they passed it down the table. It passed all the way down to the other table and everyone started whispering to each other. Lavi and Allen were so preoccupied with each other that they didn't even notice that they were keeping secrets. Half an hour passed like that and lunch ended.

"Woo! Art!" Lavi chirped, leading Allen away from everyone. They all looked between each other with sinister smiles on their faces. Besides Daisya, he was still worrying about his Mustard Company problem. Tiedoll glanced up from his desk as the first two students came in rather wildly, knocking a few things over. He blinked several times when he saw that it was Lavi Bookman leading Allen Walker around. They both talked quietly to each other in the back of the class. Tiedoll smiled to himself and looked back down at his paperwork, continuing his sketching. "Eh? You got a head start, hm? Why are you sketching?"

"Well, I'm actually not very good at drawing, so I have to sketch everything out first or else it'll turn out all weird...and since we're painting...well, I don't want to ruin anything."

"Hm...that's a good idea. I started on paper yesterday but then I decided that I didn't want to do that one so I'm just going to start today. Mr. Tiedoll said it was alright if I could just stay after some times and paint if I don't get far." Allen nodded.

"I see." Allen replied and started his sketching. Lavi took out a fresh canvas and hummed, glancing over at Allen.

"So, what was your number?"

"Fourteen. Yours?"

"Forty-nine." Allen blinked several times.

"How did you get that...?"

"Beats me. All the numbers are random, remember? Look." Allen looked up at the board and deadpanned. How did he not notice that they weren't numbered one-through-whatever before?

"Oh yeah..." He mumbled, pretending that he remembered that. He didn't want to look stupid.

"Someone you miss, huh? That's almost like mine, I suppose." Lavi replied. Allen glanced up at the board and read what Lavi's was. Forty-Nine: Paint someone whom you care about. That was a hard one-especially for someone like Lavi, who had so many friends. Maybe he could paint his grandfather though. Allen shook his head and focused back on his sketching. He was so focused on his picture, he didn't notice Lavi was staring at him for the first five minutes of class. He seemed to take his time...maybe he should stay after school too. Lavi shook his head to clear his thoughts and started sketching as well, taking Allen's advice.

"Hey, Allen?" Lavi asked as he sketched out his work. Allen glanced over at him questioningly. He didn't even notice that Kanda had silently sat himself down on Lavi's other side.

"Hm?" Lavi glanced at him as well.

"Is your eyesight really that bad?"

"Huh?" Allen mumbled, not realizing that he had glasses on; since he wore them everyday, he got used to the feel of them. "Oh...it's just my left eye, really..." He mumbled, looking back at his picture.

"Why don't you get contacts?"

"I don't like things getting in my eyes." Allen replied easily.

"Oh." Lavi replied shortly and focused on his sketch as well.

After Art, the two parted from each other and Allen made his way to Choir. They were given sheets for practicing who would get what part for their next concert. "Auditions will be next week. I trust you all will practice what you wish at home. Come Monday, all of you shall be prepared. Now, breathing exercises, shall we?" Lala clapped. Guzol sat in the back of the class, watching Lala help them with different parts. She pursed his lips as Allen sang low and high whenever she instructed him to. It was like he could sing any note she asked for. She instructed everyone to take their own pitch and match it with Allen's voice, satisfied at the result. Allen did notice that Devit and Road would whisper to each other from time to time whilst looking at him. If he wasn't trying to focus, he'd stare back at them until they explained themselves.

Choir passed by a little more quicker than he expected and he felt the need to get a bottled water. So, he grabbed a dollar out of his wallet and walked as quickly as he could past the band room and towards the vending machines in front of the main doors. Neah didn't seem to catch eye of him so he was safe. He pressed the Dasani Strawberry Flavored water and took it, twisting at the cap. Before he could get it off, he was nearly ran over by, get this, Lavi. "Eh? Oh! Hey, Allen! Where are you headed off to? Unfortunately enough, Neah looked over.

"Um. Study Hall..." Allen mumbled, walking quickly towards the cafeteria.

"Study Hall? Bleh. That's boring. Maybe you could get a slip and hang out with me in-"

"No." Allen answered sharply and kept walking.

"What? Don't like musical instruments? But Road told me that you could play piano." Allen stopped midwalk.

"Road?" He questioned. "I thought you guys didn't get along."

"I thought so too...but she seems really talkative to me today..."

"Hm..." Allen hummed and turned around, continuing his walk.

"But, really, why don't you get a pass or something and we can..." Allen tuned out when he noticed Neah walking towards them. He looked over and they made eye contact. Neah stopped, recognizing fear in Allen's eyes.

"Look, I've got things to do...sorry...I'll talk to you after school." He mumbled and yanked his hand from Lavi's grip, walking off quickly. Lavi frowned and scratched his head curiously before shrugging and walking into the band room. Neah stood there for a long time and watched Allen's back until he disappeared. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, sighing. Deciding against going after him, he walked back into the band room. It'd be troublesome to be fired at a time like this.

Once Allen managed to get in the cafeteria without look too suspicious, he instantly opened his notebook and started writing in it.

Dear Mana,

It's hard to confront Neah. I can't do it and I don't know if I'll ever be able to. It's too hard. On the bright side of things, Lavi and I are getting along nicely. In fact, I think we've become best friends. Maybe even more than Tyki, Road, Devit, Jasdero, and the others. He's really nice...and kind of an idiot at times, but I think he's amazing. He's also got this idea in his head that he's a ninja. Or has ninja skills (he really doesn't, he's just an idiot). But still, sometimes...actually, usually all the time, he makes me feel all weird inside. I hate blushing. It makes your face feel too warm and it drives me crazy. But every time he opens his mouth, it's like his goal is to make me blush. Today Devit said that we were dating-which we're not...but when Lavi told him we weren't...for some reason I felt kind of sad. I started wondering during Art...

...do I like him?

I think I do...I've never really had a crush on anyone before, but the way he makes me feel...maybe I have a crush on him...it's so weird. I wonder if it's possible that he might like me back. Oh well, I suppose we'll just have to see, huh? I hope we hang out again after school. It's really fun hanging out with him. He talks a lot...like...one hundred miles per hour. I'm not even kidding. Unless we have one topic to talk about, he never shuts up. But, I've come to learn that I like hearing him talk. It's like whenever I'm around him, all I want to think about is him. Wow. This is getting weird.

Anyways, I'll write you as soon as possible,

-Allen Walker

Allen sighed with relief and closed his notebook. He felt a lot more relaxed now that he got all that out. Blinking, he suddenly realized what he wrote down and opened his notebook back open, reading the entry several times. Could it be...? Do I really...? Allen shook his head and put his lovey dovey feelings aside for now and looked at the clock, seeing that it was five minutes until school let out. He supposed he could wait that long. "So why didn't you want to hang out?" Allen jumped and let out a small cry, looking to his left to see a certain redhead he may or may not have been writing about...

"Lavi?! Don't you have class?" He hissed.

"Yeah, well, he dismissed us ten minutes early. Besides, Study Hall isn't an actual class so I'm allowed to chill here. Not to mention I know the teacher that 'teaches' Study Hall."

"Maybe you don't understand this, Lavi, but the last time I saw Neah was five years ago and I'm not prepared to talk with him yet." Allen admitted. Lavi blinked.

"Is that it? Why didn't you just say so?" Allen's eye twitched. Remember. Lavi is your friend. You can't hit him.

"Because...I don't know..." Allen mumbled.

"Okay, so anyways...after school...do you...want to go do something?"

"Explain: do something." Allen replied.

"Like..." Lavi trailed off and Allen noticed a small blush on his cheeks. Last time I checked 'Lavi doesn't blush.' Allen thought, raising a brow.

"Like?"

"Like...um...I don't know...grab a coffee?"

Allen was still confused.

"Like a date." Lavi clarified. Allen's eyes widened and he smacked a hand to his mouth.

"Like...a date...?"

Cue the awkward silence.

"I, uh...Lavi...I...um...sure..."

Cue more awkward silence.

"Cool...so...I'll...see you at the door...or something..." Lavi replied, getting up and quickly walking off. I'll see you at the door? Wow, good going Lavi, you sounded like a complete idiot! Lavi told himself angrily as he stormed off. Allen on the other hand couldn't help but let a huge smile break across his face.

Lavi just asked him on a date.

A date!

He looked down at his notebook and smiled, holding it close, becoming excited. Then he suddenly frowned, thinking about Cross. The man would most definitely make fun of him...not to mention Allen couldn't text him about something like this...maybe he could just say that he's going to hang out with someone...yeah. That was a much better idea than telling him he was going on a date. The school bell rang and he instantly pulled out his phone, texting the redheaded man.

Allen Walker: Don't come pick me up, I'm going to hang out with a friend.

Cross: Wasn't planning on it.

Allen gave his phone an unamused look. Love you too, Cross. He thought sarcastically and pocketed his phone, standing up and stretching. He took his water bottle and stuffed his notebook into his bag, walking towards the doors, humming to himself jovially. Lavi was waiting, tapping his toes on the floor nervously from time to time. Allen chuckled and ran over towards him, greeting him happily. Neah looked over, catching a glimpse of red and white. His pencil led broke when he saw Lavi's arm around Allen's shoulders.

No way.

I thought that Lavi's painting was quite interesting since in the anime, he's not supposed to really care about anyone. I'm not sure how far I'm really going to go with this story, but I was thinking about different ideas to lead this off of. It can go downspiral in an angsty end with a sequel or it can be all super duper cute and lovey dovey at the end and that's that. Who knows. We'll get to that when the time comes, eh? Anyways, a lot of thanks goes out to TriforceNinja, VocaloidAllenWalker, and Laven-Soki-Forever for reviewing! I was actually thinking about posting another story today, but I figured I should at least update this story or another before I did that! :)
