The Siren's Call Ch. 9
"And so...your father and I decided that our lives were just too different. I went home to the jungle, he stayed in Piltover. A few weeks later, he and your mother got together, and the rest is history."
"I'm confused," Vix chimed in. "You're saying Orianna's mother murdered someone? And attacked her dad, too? Why did he marry her and have Gwen?"
Vul's tails swished back and forth in excitement. "That can't possibly be the end of the story! Did Vul ever find out if someone was framing Gwen's mom? If so, who? Why?"
"That's really not up to me to tell," Nidalee replied, holding up her hands. "Honestly, it's not really my business. I'm just giving my account of events because I'd hate for you to have come all this way for nothing."
Gwen, however, remained completely silent. She was still struggling to get her head around things. "So, why do you think you and Dad became so close?" she finally asked. "What was it that attracted him to you?"
"Honestly?" Nid mused. "Your father was just lonely. Believe it or not, he wasn't very confident in himself. I fell for him because he was so kind and caring." She closed her eyes and gave a wistful sigh as she reminicised. "How did you even find out about me anyway? I doubt he's the one who told you about me."
"We found an old video of the two of you kissing," Vix explained. "You were on a stage and you were dancing. He kissed you and then the power cut off."
Nidalee giggled. "Oh, yes. I remember. That was the night your father was attacked. That's also the night I left. He was the one who cut the power. I'd never been drunk before, and he didn't want me to get in trouble with the League."
"Well, does that help at all, Gwen?" Vul asked.
"Not really," she admitted. "Dad is lonely, but that doesn't mean I stand a chance."
Nidalee blinked in confusion. "You're trying to seduce your dad?"
Gwen grinned sheepishly. "The heart wants what the heart wants."
The huntress shook her head. "You may as well give up then," she sighed. "Your father is chained to his ideals. If he thinks it's wrong, he'll fight it to the death, no matter how much anyone tries to convince him otherwise. That's the only reason you were even born in the first place."
Her words sent a chill through the young blonde. They were so serious and stern. It wasn't advice, it was a statement of fact. Still, she couldn't give up. Her father needed love, and as his only daughter, it was up to her to give it to him.
Her fists clenched as fire ignited in her soul. "I'm not giving up. If anything, what you just said has only pushed me more! I love my father, and I don't care what some Jungle Jill says, I'm going to make him love me, too!"
Turning from her, she stormed off towards the way they'd come, still fuming. Vix and Vul looked at one another, and after an impromptu game of rock, paper, scissors, the brother raced off after their friend.
"Gwen, wait!"
"Don't try to stop me, Vul. I'm not going to be bullied out of this!"
"No one is trying to bully you," he replied, moving to stand in front of her. "I understand you're upset. And I don't think you should give up, either. I'm no stranger to weird relationships, so I get it. But you have to calm down."
"Haven't you ever heard that you're not supposed to tell a woman to calm down?" she grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest.
He sighed, moving beside her and bringing her into a hug. "Look, we'll find a way to make this work, right? But even if Nidalee isn't helpful in you ending up with your dad, she does know this jungle better than anyone. I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to walk back through Shurima with that thing out there, you know?"
Gwen turned her head to avoid looking at the cute fox-boy. Both he and Vix were something else when it came to getting what they wanted from someone. The way they both looked at her made Gwen think of the birds that the old people feed in the park.
"I suppose," she murmured. "I just hate that I know so little about Dad."
"Don't be silly. You know more about your dad than anyone on the planet, I'd bet. Sure, Nidalee has kissed him, but so have you. You know what songs he likes, his favorite foods, his habits and mannerisms. You've been with him every day of your life for eighteen years. That's more than anyone else can boast."
"And I'm still no closer to making him fall in love with me," she whimpered.
"Maybe you're going about it the wrong way. Did Vix ever tell you how she seduced me?"
"She said you jumped her while she was in the shower."
There was a gleam of irritation on Vul's face as his tails twitched. "She did what?! That dirty liar! She jumped me! I was just minding my own business and she came into my shower and charmed the hell out of me!" He gave a groan of disgust before waving his hand in front of his face. "But that's besides the point. My point is, if Vix hadn't charmed me that first time and made me realize how much I loved being with her, I probably would never have known."
Gwen's eyes lit up. Hope! "That's it! Vul, you're a genius! We just have to track down this Morgana chick and get her to give us the charm she used on the wine. Then I'll slip it to Dad, we'll have sex, he'll love it, and it'll be happy ever after."
Moving to him, she placed her hands on his cheeks and gave him a grateful kiss on the lips. When she pulled away, leaving to return to Nid, she couldn't see the twin's pink cheeks or the expression of delight on his face.
The sound of blows upon the wood training dummies rang out in Caitlyn's home. Every strike carried with it a bit of her frustration, with both herself and Kiba. "Damn it!" she panted, punching it again. "I can't believe...I was so...stupid." Punch after punch, and still all she could think about was the way she'd cried in front of him.
Pausing her training, she wiped her forehead with her towel. Her eyes looked to the clock which read 2:00 AM. Gods, I really should get some sleep. She drank from her water bottle, before peering at her phone. Still no messages. True, she'd agreed to meet with Kiba tomorrow, but she'd half hoped he'd contact her today.
"What was I thinking anyway?" she scoffed. "We're just co-workers." Her lips pursed as she stared at the screen. "Maybe I should give him a call. Just to clarify my position on everything."
Punching the buttons on her phone, it rang once, then twice. "Hello?" a tired feminine voice answered. "Kayle, chief prosecutor speaking."
"K-kayle? Why do you have Kiba's phone?"
"What are you talking about? This is my phone." A muffled voice on the other side of the line caused her to correct her statement. "Oh. Sorry Caitlyn, it seems I answered his phone by mistake. Kiba, it's for you."
"Hello?"
"H-hey. What's going on? Are you working late?" Caitlyn asked.
"Something like that," he sighed. "I'll explain everything tomorrow. Assuming I understand by then. Is something the matter?"
"Oh no, not at all," she assured him. "I just wanted to talk to you about what we discussed earlier. I didn't want you to get the wrong idea. But that's okay, now that I know you're not worried about it, than I'm not worried about it, so I'll just talk to you later, okay? Bye!" She hung up and tossed her phone away from her.
Once she'd calmed down a little, she fetched her phone again. Kayle was with Kiba? At 2:00 AM? If she didn't know better, she'd think they were seeing one another. But Kayle? There was no way.
"Maybe I have been overworking myself," she mused. Putting her towel around her neck, she went to shower and go to sleep. Today, after all, was a big day for her.
Meanwhile, Kiba and Kayle were now awake, and faced with an awkward situation. Kayle held the comforter over herself so as to preserve her modesty. Kiba, on the other hand was rubbing his temples and pacing beside the bed.
"Kayle, what the heck was all that about?" he asked. "I mean, you can't just show up to my house and jump my bones. That's rape."
"Rape?!" she cried in shock. "You should watch what words you throw around! I told you I was going to be here. You think you'd show a bit of gratitude...considering." Her words trailed off a bit as she averted her eyes.
"Gratitude?" he scoffed. "Don't get me wrong, it was amazing. Like, better than anything in my wildest dreams that I've ever had in my life, amazing. But just because the sex was mindblowingly great doesn't mean that I should be thankful for you forcing yourself on me."
"But you were scared and hesitating!" she argued. "You told me that you wanted me to not back down no matter what. I was just trying to help, and now I have."
Kiba held up his hand, taking a deep breath. "Kayle, I'm not angry at you. I just don't understand where this is all coming from. I thought after what happened with Orianna you'd be done with me. What gives?"
"You told me that you and your daughter were in trouble," she protested. "Gwen was charmed, and this was the only way I could fix it."
"How did you know about that?" he asked. "I never told anybody about it. And as you can see, Gwen is clearly not here."
"You sent me a text. You asked me to interrogate my sister and find the cure! And I did. Do you really think I'd have sex with you otherwise?" Just as the question left her lips, she wanted to take it back. "That came out wrong."
"And you thought I'd ask you to have sex with me? Even if I knew that was the cure for my daughter, I would never put you through that for either of our sakes."
"I know. But it was either me or…" Her words trailed off. "My sister." Her eyes widened as the realization came crashing down like a ton of bricks. "No," she whispered, her eyes tearing up. "No, no. This can't be happening. Please...please tell me you sent those messages. Please tell me that you're the one I've been talking to all this time."
Grabbing her phone, she shakily went to his number that she'd programmed and called it. It rang, and rang, and rang. But the phone in Kiba's hand remained still and silent. Her heart was throbbing in her chest as the tears started to pour heavily down her cheeks.
Kiba wasn't sure what to tell her. He could see she was hurting, but he was at a loss for words. Morgana had done it. She'd tricked her into committing an act that was unthinkable for her.
Instead of talking, he moved to her side and tried to reassure her. "Hey, look...we're the only two who know about this, right? We don't have to tell anyone what happened. As far as Caitlyn knows, we were up late discussing a case. We can forget this ever...happened?"
As he pulled his hand away from her shoulder, one of her soft feathers came with it. It had clung to his skin, and was beginning to shift from snow white to a pitch black. She was falling!
"No, no! Kayle, look at me. Look at me, Kayle!" He demanded, turning her to face him. "Kayle, this is not your fault, understand? You did nothing wrong. You haven't lost your grace."
"I...I can't believe it...I'm so stupid," she murmured. "I...I raped you. I gave you my maidenhood, my virginity." She wrapped her arms tightly around herself, shivering as more of her feathers began to molt from her wings.
"No, you thought you were doing what is right. I take back what I said, okay? You didn't rape me. I was just confused and…"
"And I loved it." Those words pierced through his chest like a fiery lance. Her lips curled into a broken smile as she began to chuckle. It soon evolved into laughter, bordering on the maniacal as her tears fell even harder. "I loved it! It felt amazing! Every second of it was pure bliss. Even if I'd learned it was a trick half way through, I'd have still kept going." Her pupils narrowed until they were almost invisible. "Th-that's it! The reason I've been so miserable. My life has been so hard because I refused to let myself enjoy anything around me. I was so chaste, so pure, and for what? All I was missing, it's been here in front of me the whole time."
"Kayle, no!" Kiba cried, throwing his arms around her and hugging her tightly. "Don't do this. Please, you have to stay strong. Your grace was important. Is important. Of course it's hard to stick to your morals. It's hard for all of us, but that doesn't mean that it isn't worth it."
"Oh, but it isn't," she attested. "Last night was the best night of my life. Everything in my millenia of years, none of it compared to the measly hour that I spent here with you! Ahaha! HAHAHAHA! I'm falling! I'm falling OVER A HUMAN!" Her insane cackling only made Kiba cling to her tighter.
Now he had begun to cry. Caitlyn was right about the people in his life and how he'd distanced himself from them. He had run away and disappeared, and that was wrong of him. Now, he was forced to watch as someone he viewed as a rolemodel collapsed, and he felt like it was all his fault.
"You don't need to cry," she told him, dropping the sheet and revealing herself to him. "Seriously, there's no reason to. For the first time in my life, I'm happy! I'm actually happy, and it's all thanks to you! I've discovered a whole new world that I've been missing out on and I didn't even know! Hells, I refused to even try it!"
With a beat of her now ragged black wings, she shoved him onto his back and straddled his waist. He stared up at her, completely speechless. The light in her eyes was vanishing. Whatever grace she had, it was gone now, replaced only with lust.
"I want you," she grinned, pinning him down. "I've wanted you for a long time, but now I see the only way to have you is by giving myself up. It all makes sense now! Of course you didn't love the old me. How could you? I didn't even love the old me, but the new me...the new me is so much better! I can smile and laugh and have fun. I don't have to worry about some stupid rules or my sister or a war or anything! Make love, not war, am I right?! HAHAHAHAHA!"
"Kayle…" he murmured, trying his best to keep from sobbing. Morgana had won. Her greatest enemy was no more and there was nothing Kiba could do about it. And she'd used him to do it.
"Gods, why are you still crying?" she cackled. "You said the sex was the best you'd ever had in your life, right? Well I'm going to blow that all away again! I'm going to fuck you until your brain is pouring out of your ears. By the time I'm through, you'll be licking your cum off my feet like a fucking dog!"
"Kayle, stop!" he screamed as loud as he could. "Stop it," he repeated, this time lower. "Don't you see what's happening? Your sister is trying to twist you. She wants you to blame yourself. But you didn't do anything wrong."
The wild look in her eyes began to fade slightly. "Of-of course, I didn't. I mean, nothing about yesterday felt wrong. It was right. It all felt oh, so right."
"And that's okay," he told her. "It's sex. It's supposed to feel good. But you're better than this, Kayle. Please, you can't let this consume you. Was the physical pleasure all that you liked? What about the way we fell asleep in each other's arms? How about the times we kissed? Weren't those just as good?"
"Yes," she admitted. "They were. What's your point?"
"Those aren't lust. Those are things that come out of love. You don't want lust, Kayle. Lust is just shallow and hollow and empty. You're better than that. You deserve better than that."
Her feathers began to shift back to their normal white, though were still ragged. Her pupils dilated, and her heart rate began to lower again. "But...but it feels so good," she argued. "I want to feel it again. And, if there's nothing wrong with it, then why can't I want it so badly?"
"Because that's not who you are. That's who your sister is. You're not like her. What you want shouldn't outweigh the needs of the people around you. This isn't who you are. This is just who Morgana wants you to be, so she can look down on you, just like she always has."
Kayle fell forward onto him, her entire body shivering in his embrace. "What's happening to me?" she choked. "I know you're right, but...I want you so badly. I want to own you, to take you, to make you mine and no one else's."
"But why me?" he whispered to her, stroking her hair. "Think long and hard about what it is about me that makes you want me. You could have had anyone. Any guy off the street, but Morgana knew you'd go for me. Why?"
"Because...because you beat me in court," Kayle stammered. "I'd never lost before."
"Just because you lost one time doesn't mean that I'm better than you. Kayle, you're one of the best people I know. You can't let yourself fall like this. Please. You have to keep being who you really are. And who you are is the chief prosecutor of the League. You're a person who seeks out justice over everything else."
"But I'm not anymore. I'm not a good person. I...I used you...and I liked using you."
"Good people can do bad things. So you're not perfect...that doesn't mean you should just give up trying." He looked deep into her eyes, and leaning upward placed a soft kiss on her lips. "The Kayle I know, would never let herself be weighed down by her mistakes."
Kayle threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. "What am I going to do?" she sobbed. "I don't want to fall. But if I don't...then I'll lose you. I don't know what to do."
"I'm still your friend," he told her. "But if you fall. If you lose everything that makes you, you, then you'll really lose me. Because I want the real you, Kayle. Not the you that Morgana wants you to be."
Her chest heaved as he held her there. He gave her gentle shushes to comfort her as she continued to cry. This time, Morgana had gone too far. Sibling rivalry was one thing, but this was something completely different.
She'd very nearly broken her sister. Kiba couldn't stand the idea of that. "W-was I r-r-really the best you've ev-ver ha-had?" Kayle stammered.
"Yeah," he told her. "But not because it felt good. But because you did it to sacrifice yourself for me."
Through her tears, he could see the smile on her face. She buried her face in his neck, clinging to him like a life raft. He, in turn, clung to her as well. If he was the only anchor keeping the real Kayle here, then he'd gladly shoulder that burden. One thing was for certain though...Morgana had just made herself into his enemy.
"I...I can't control it," she gasped, her feathers molting in a dark shower around them. "It feels too good. I need to feel more. Please. Give me more." Her lips pressed against his, kissing him over and over again.
Due to her angelic nature, Kiba found himself growing just as intoxicated by her affections. He had to admit, he originally had zero interest in Kayle, but now…He gave himself a mental slap in the face. Stop it! This is what Morgana wants. She's using you to get to her sister, and that's not okay. No matter how good it feels.
Still, he couldn't stop her. Her hand took his, bringing it to her breast to cup and fondle. A soft moan escaped from her as she urged him to continue exploring her body. "P-please," she begged him, trailing kisses up his throat. "Please, give me more."
It was difficult for him to think with her hot breath in his ear. When he didn't say anything, she turned his chin to face her before kissing his lips. Again, he kissed her back. Almost no hesitation whatsoever. His fingers sank into her soft flesh, bringing forth more of her angelic moans.
Gods, the sound was maddening. It went straight to his mind, reminding him of the pleasure that would come with obedience. That's when he knew what he had to do. Kayle had sacrificed herself for him. He would do the same for her. "Okay," he whispered between kisses. "But no sex."
"Wh-what? But that's not fa–"
He silenced her by letting his hand leave her breast and slide between her thighs. Already, the vanilla-flavored cum was dripping down her thighs. He couldn't believe this was the effect he had on her.
Bliss filled her face as she closed her eyes, savoring his touch. His thumb moved in small circles over her clit, his fingers pumping in and out of her. "I'm going to finger you to climax," he told her. "But you have to promise me, you're going to try to resist these new urges. If it gets bad, and I mean really bad, then you can call me. Okay?"
"Okay," she agreed, so quickly that he was skeptical of her answer. Still, his fingers pistoned faster inside of her, causing her to moan loudly. "Nngh. Your fingers feel so good," she gasped. "Can't you just...with your…"
"No. It's this or nothing. Take your pick."
Kayle fell silent. Her answer was apparent. Still he cradled her close, pleasuring the sex-crazed angel. She wouldn't fall on his watch. Her hand reached to his member, stroking him as well. At first, he thought to push her away, and remind her of the agreement, but...something in her sad eyes made him hesitate.
"This is still okay, right? I mean, I want you to feel good, too. As thanks for not letting me fall. I still want you to be mine. But...I know that's not up to me. Is it?"
Kiba didn't say anything. Instead, he gave her a loving kiss. The two lay there in his bed, pleasuring one another until they'd both reached an orgasm. Again, Kayle found herself in a sex-drunk haze, but this time, it felt more appropriate. It was tamer, and more controlled.
Looking to the man in bed with her, and seeing he was asleep, she placed a kiss on his forehead and pulled away. He was right. If she wanted to stay true to who she was, she'd have to work for it. And she would work for it.
Looking down at her hand, she saw that it was covered in ribbons of his sticky cum. Without a thought, she lifted his hand to her mouth and slowly ran her tongue along it. It was bland and a little salty, but it made her feel so very alive.
When it was all gone, she nearly considered sucking more from him directly, but stopped. This was a test of her resolve. If she wanted him, and oh how she wanted him, then the only way to get him was to play along.
After sitting on the train back to the Institute, she stroked her wings nervously. Already the hunger was returning. She shook her head, willing her wings to remain the snowy white that they presently were.
Her cheeks flushed as she stared at her beautiful face in the window. Her eyes were red, and a little blotchy, but she could see now that she really was lovely. She'd never given her appearance much thought before, but now…
"Well, well, well. Isn't this a wonderful surprise?" Kayle looked up to see that across from her, her sister was now sinking down onto the bench. Her eyes gleamed impishly as she leaned forward, resting her hands on the edge. "I never in all my years expected to see you doing the walk of shame. Go on sister, give me the details. How was he?"
Kayle choked on her tears as she tried to ignore Morgana. "I miss him already."
To be continued...
