Chapter 60

4 Years 8 Months Later

Evie sat down as the guys helped place chairs around the tables. They wanted everything perfect for tomorrow. The wedding was set for four o'clock but the ladies were getting pampered while the guys left them alone. She fanned herself and made a face as the heat made her sundress stick to her. Why wasn't the air conditioner working? She grabbed another program and continued to fan herself.

Toby dropped down next to Evie and threw his arm over her shoulders. "Okay Shorty, what's wrong?" he asked.

Evie shook off his arm. "It's hot and the air conditioner is broken. Jerry and Embry refused to get me a popsicle and my husband is nowhere to be found," she pouted. "Who gets married in July?" she asked looking around. Jacob and Dave were putting out the last of the chairs while Jared and Tank finished setting up the cake table.

"I do," Beth state with her arms crossed. "Quit complaining and using my programs as fans." She tapped Evie on the arm and took the remaining programs away.

Gina quickly put down the program she was using to playfully hit Seth. "Let's check on the netting for the balloons," she stated taking Seth's hand.

"Umm…. Yeah, let's check on the netting," Seth quickly replied. He stopped Jared before he crossed Beth's path. "Walk away bro, walk away." He moved his finger across his throat.

Rex kneeled in front of Evie. "The air conditioner is working fine. Poor Beth is wearing a sweater. Jerry and Embry asked you to wait until they finished setting up the alter in the garden," he began as he tapped her nose. "Your husband just got back from helping Valisa and Sue with the food for tomorrow." He laughed when she tried to hit him. "Bad prego."

"I come baring gifts," Paul announced as he walked into the Recreation Center. His wife still took his breath away. She bit her lip and he shook his head. The only reason she hadn't attacked him yet, was there were too many people around. He handed Evie a popsicle. "For my beautiful wife." He kneeled and gave her a kiss before placing a kiss on her protruding belly. "Sorry it took so long to get you a popsicle."

"Thank you, baby," Evie said with a big smile. "Sorry for being grumpy." She caressed his check. "I promise to make it up to you." She gentle bit his bottom lip.

"Don't worry about it," Paul answered. He motioned for Rex and Toby to follow him.

"What's up?" Toby asked. He rubbed his arm.

"I've never seen Beth and Evie snap at each other before," Paul said glancing at Evie as she ate the popsicle.

"Didn't you say something about them taking on more work?" Rex asked as he avoided eye contact with Beth.

"Two girls from Shorty and Beth's foundation quit. There are deadlines to meet with certain colleges. They have been working like crazy to make sure the kids don't lose their scholarships and plan the wedding," Paul replied to Rex and Toby. Evie wasn't even paying them any attention. She was completely content with her popsicle. "Beth kicked Quil out of their house when he forgot to pick up milk. He had to stay at Embry's after Beth called Evie." He bumped fist with Dave as he walked by.

Toby rubbed the back of his neck. "We figured as much," he said. "She rarely gets angry and never at Beth." He smiled when Evie looked in their direction.

"We might have to dunk them," Dave said as he handed Quil a chair.

Quil gave Dave a confused look. "What the hell is dunk?" He nodded towards Paul. "Have you heard of dunk?"

Paul shook his head no. "What the hell is that?" he asked.

"We haven't used that method since were teenagers," Rex laughed.

Toby scratched his head. "The only time we used it on the girls is when Chris Pham bailed on their project," he said. "We were fourteen or fifteen. Chris was supposed to make the volcano for their project while they did the research and wrote the report. He called out sick and the teacher gave them an extra day. He refused to make the volcano and said he would rather take an incomplete then help them with the project."

"Evie and Beth stayed up all night making the volcano and fighting about who was at fault," Rex added. "Turned out Chris had a huge crush on Beth and thought by working on the project together, she would give him a chance."

"Enzo punched Chris the night before the project was due," Toby chuckled. "The guys legs flew over his head. Classic Enzo."

"The fight lasted for two weeks," Dave commented as he smiled at Evie.

"We got tired of hearing them and threw them in the pool completely clothed. They yelled at us for a few minutes but eventually laughed it off," Rex said as he waved to Beth, who gave him a dirty look before flipping him off.

"Unfortunately, we don't have a pool," Paul muttered. He scratched his head as he looked around.

"At this point," Toby said looking at the girls as they gave each other dirty looks. "Any water will do."

Jerry and Embry walked into the Recreation Center laughing. They quickly walked out when Evie gave them a dirty look. They forgot to pick up popsicles. As they stood near Embry's truck, they debated whether to go or stay.

Embry pulled out his phone. "She's pissed," he muttered showing Jerry his phone. "Leah is going to kill me." He ran his hand through his hair.

"Why would Leah kill you?" Jerry asked laughing.

"I am under strict orders to keep Evie calm and relaxed. She's been having a hard time with her college program for the High School. Her stress level went from low to high. Marshall, Sue and Leah have been keeping a constant eye on her," Embry explained. He cringed when his phone rang. "The wife," he muttered. "Hi babe."

"Sucks to be you," Jerry said as headed back inside. His best friend needed to chill out.

Embry picked up an empty soda can from the back of his truck and threw it at Jerry's head. He nailed him square in the back of the head.

Jerry rubbed his head and flipped Embry off. They may not have gotten along all those years ago but now they were like bros. Evie was right, they were a lot alike. He tried to give Beth a hug but she pushed him away. He shook his head and dropped down next to Evie.

"Go away," Evie stated as she tossed her popsicle stick in the trash.

"You cannot possibly be angry over a popsicle?" Jerry asked looking at her a bit shocked. She gave him a look which made him move over. "Shorty, I know your stressed but this is only making it worse." He patted her leg.

"That table doesn't go there," Beth hissed. She tossed the programs on the table. "Does anyone even care that I am getting married tomorrow? I have tons of things to do and none of you are helping." She wrapped her hands around the back of her neck.

"That's stress," Evie said pointing at Beth. "Whose idea was it to have a wedding on the hottest day of the year?" She pulled her hair into a ponytail and sighed.

"It was your stupid idea," Beth remarked. She was tired and cranky. Everyone was on her last nerve. "It's the perfect day for a wedding," she sarcastically imitated Evie's voice.

Evie glared at Beth. "At least I was calm and happy at my wedding," she commented as she crossed her arms and feet.

"Please, you were stressing out about the stupid flowers," Beth called out as her face turned red with anger. "Which I picked out, thank you very much." She groaned and gathered the programs.

Evie used Jerry's shoulder to stand up. "Umm, I picked out the flowers," she stated taking a step towards Beth. "They were perfect and lasted for two days." She held up two fingers.

Dave and Quil walked in and stopped when they noticed Evie and Beth glaring at each other. They carefully made their way around the two women. Quil was kind of worried, since he had never seen Beth so mad but it also was a turn on.

Tank stood next to Toby. "This looks bad," he whispered. He didn't want to draw any attention to himself.

"Really," Beth said angrily. She took a step towards Evie.

"Really," Evie barked. She moved towards Beth with her hands on her hips.

Paul motioned for Quil to calm Beth down. He moved next to Evie and held the back of her dress. They have been bickering about anything and everything for the last few days. He tried to ease Evie's stress but she refused anyone's help.

Beth made a face before nodding. "Fine, you picked them," she replied with a smirk. "They were ugly flowers." She said getting in Evie's face. "They were wilted before the ceremony even began and everyone hated the color."

Evie gasped with her hand over her chest. "Take it back," she said in a horrified voice. Hearing Beth bath mouth her wedding was stepping over the line.

"Okay, back to your neutral corners," Dave shouted as he tried to move in between them without pushing them back. Evie was extremely pregnant and Beth was ready to spit nails.

Beth looked around Dave and smiled at Evie. "No," she snapped happily.

Evie lifted her ponytail and fanned the back of her neck. "You're lucky I'm pregnant," she stated. She tried to swipe at Paul's hand but she couldn't reach him.

"You are lucky your pregnant," Beth retorted. She kicked off her shoes as Quil wrapped his arm around her waist. "Or I'd tell you what I really thought of your precious boring wedding."

"Enough," Tank yelled. He threw Beth over his shoulder. "Dunk." He motioned for Quil to take a step back.

"I agree," Dave said. He picked up Evie bridal style. "Sorry Paul, but it has to be done." He turned around. "I will be very careful with her. I promise." He nodded at Paul before heading outside. He did his best to not jostle Evie too much.

Rex ran in front of Tank. "Hey Embry, we need a ride to First Beach," he called. He jumped in the back of the truck. "We have a dunking to perform." He clapped.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Embry asked Rex as bumped fist with Jerry.

"We'll explain on the way," Toby said jumping in his truck.

Jerry nodded. "Trust me, Shorty and Beth deserve it."

Paul motioned for Dave to get in his truck. "Be careful with my wife and child," he stated with a pointed look.

Dave nodded. "Of course, man," he said. "I made sure not to move her around too much."

"Dunking is completely childish," Evie snapped. She caught a glimpse of Beth hitting Tank's back.

Jacob opened the passenger door. "Don't look at me. I'm innocent," he said trying not laugh. He and Jerry jumped into the back of Paul's truck. He pulled out his phone and texted Bella and Leah.

Quil jumped in the back of the truck. "I called Marshall. He said they'll meet us there," he stated. "Damn, I hope my fiancée doesn't kill me."

"You're not going to stop them?" Embry asked Paul. He knew Dave had a good hold on Evie. The water was warm from the heat wave they were experiencing.

"No," Paul replied. He rubbed his chin as he watched Dave carry a very angry Evie to the water. "She needs to relax and so does Beth. They have been snapping at each other and won't let anyone help." He looked at Embry. "Besides, the worst that will happen is she gets wet and has to change clothes." He watched to waves roll in and kept an eye on the horizon for any danger.

"Don't do it," Beth shouted as Tank walked into the water. Her feet were getting wet as she pushed against his back. "Quil, make him stop." She glared at her fiancé as he laughed. "The wedding is off," she yelled. "Do you hear me Quil Ateara, the wedding is off!"

Tank smacked her on the ass. "Don't say things you'll regret," he said waiting for Dave.

Quil made a face when Tank touched his girl inappropriately but took a deep breath and decided to follow Paul's lead. He stood next to his Pack Brothers. "She's not serious about the wedding. She's just mad," he scoffed. He looked at Embry. "Dude, do you think she's serious?" he asked worried.

"Of course not," Embry said with a shake of his head. "She's just pissed right now. Besides, Tank is right, she shouldn't say things she'll regret later. Beth will apologize." He patted Quil on the back. He glanced at Paul but he just shrugged.

Leah and Marshall walked over to Embry and Paul. She was still wearing her scrubs as well as Marshall. The clinic was open seven days a week. There were four doctors who rotated shifts. They had a surge of kids take an interest in the medical field.

Bella showed up a few minutes later with the twins and Susanah. William and Sarah raced over to their father, who was waiting for them with open arms. Jacob scooped up his kids and showered them with kisses. They giggle and screamed until their daddy leaned in to kiss their mom.

"You can't throw me in the water," Evie snapped. "I'm pregnant." She tried to look for Paul but she couldn't see over Dave's shoulder. If Paul wasn't trying to rescue her then more than likely he agreed with the guys. "Damn it," she muttered.

"I know, with a healthy baby boy," Dave said looking at her. He stopped next to Tank. "But all the stress you and Beth are under is not helping either of you or baby Dave." He let his words sink in.

"My son's name is not Dave," Paul stated as he waved his fist at Dave.

"Why are Auntie Evie and Uncle Dave in the water?" Susanah asked as Embry picked her up. He long black hair was tied into a ponytail. "Hey, Uncle Tank and Auntie Beth are in the water too." She patted Paul's shoulder. "Are they in trouble?"

"Auntie Beth and Evie were being very bad today," Embry explained. "There punishment is to get in the water fully dressed." He laughed when his daughter gave him a weird look as she tapped her little fingers against her lips.

"I know its confusing little one," Paul said tapping Susanah's nose making her smile. "But it's a California thing." Anything that had to do with Evie and the guys was a California thing to Susanah. Anything to do with La Push was a Pack thing. She didn't know about the wolves but to her they were a Pack of Friends.

Leah smiled. "Don't worry baby girl, Uncle Tank will take care of Auntie Evie and the baby," she kissed Susanah's cheek.

"Daddy, can we go in the water?" William asked. He waved to Rex. "Uncle Rex promised to teach us to stay on a board." He nudged his sister.

"Oh, yeah, please daddy," Sarah begged as she clapped her hands. "Uncle Jerry said he would buy us boards." She waved to Jerry.

"Umm," Jacob looked at Bella. "No going into the water today and I'll think about surfing." He tried to glare at Jerry and Rex but they weren't paying attention to him.

"They did ask before talking to the kids," Bella pointed out as Jacob continued to glare at Jerry and Rex.

"Oh Evie," Beth cried. Tank pulled her from his shoulder and cradled her. "We are such idiots." She wiped at her eyes. She reached for Evie's hand.

"No, I'm the idiot," Evie cried giving Beth's hand a squeeze. "Leah kept telling me to slow down but I wouldn't listen. Bella offered to help, instead I let my stubbornness get in the way." She wiped at her eyes.

"We deserve to be dunked," Beth said looking at Evie. "We also deserve a kick in the ass." She smiled before turning towards the shore. "I'm sorry Quil. I love you and we are still getting married tomorrow."

"I know babe," Quil stated with a smile.

"The flowers were beautiful and your wedding was like a fairy tale," Beth stated as she tried to hug Evie.

"Really," Evie cried as she hugged Beth.

"Really," Beth laughed as she wiped tears away from Evie's face.

"Go ahead," Evie said to Dave. She placed her hand over her belly. "The baby's first official dunk." She smiled at Dave.

"Since we can't toss you into the water," Dave said as he took a few more steps. "We'll just carry you both in and lower ourselves in the water." He kissed Evie on the forehead.

They walked further into the water as a couple of waves rolled in. It didn't take long for them to get soaked. Rex, Jerry and Toby dived in. Dave set Evie down but held on to her. Tank put Beth down and pulled her into a hug.

"I love you guys," Beth cried as she tried to hug them all.

Evie hugged Jerry while Dave kept a tight hold of her waist. "We love you Beth," she replied.

"Damn, I love when our group is all together," Toby stated bumping fist with Rex. He placed his hands on Evie's stomach. "Yes, I do little Toby," he said loudly.

Paul shook his head. "Not a chance man," he said as Toby shrugged.

"The only one missing is Enzo," Tank commented as he kissed the top of Beth's head.

Rex rubbed the back of his neck. "The guy hasn't been the same since he dumped Jenny before senior year," he said. "He avoided hanging out with us and didn't even show up to any of our graduation parties." He hugged Beth.

"He called the day after Quil proposed," Beth began. "I felt bad for him. But I had no choice but to hang up on him when he continued to beg for another chance." She shook her head. "After the scene, he caused at the engagement party, I had to block his number." It was hard to think the boy she once loved could be a stranger to her, to all of them.

Paul glanced at Quil as they heard the conversation between friends. "Dude, you didn't tell us Enzo was harassing Beth," he said making sure Susanah wasn't paying attention to them. She was talking to her parents about her day.

"It was difficult for Beth, and I didn't want to add to it," Quil confessed. "We love each other and Enzo isn't a threat to us. Besides, if he was stupid enough to show up, Evie and Bella would shield his ass." He shuttered remembering the look in Evie and Bella's eyes at the engagement party.

"Yeah, Shorty and my wife are scary when family is being threatened," Jacob chuckled as he bumped Quil's shoulder. "At least the wedding is back on." He looked down and ran his hand through his kid's hair. They were sitting on his feet.

"Hey, Papa Marshall," Bella said before kissing his cheek. "I brought towels for the weirdos. Joy, Emily and Kim are at the Recreation Center making sure everything is set for tomorrow before they lock up. Nana said to call her after you give Evie a quick check up." She placed a bag with towels and clothes down.

Paul kept his eyes on his wife. The waves were huge but he knew one misplaced step and she could easily fall. Dave still had his hands firmly on Evie's waist while Jerry had his arm around her shoulders.

"Thanks sweetie," Marshall nodded. He placed his medical bag down. "I love my baby girl but sometimes she pushes the boundaries." He tickled Susanah's belly. "Hi Pumpkin, how's my girl doing?" He smiled when she reached for him.

"Papa, Auntie Bella took us to the library," Susanah explained as she moved her hands around. "I got a card." She patted her pockets until she remembered the card was in her backpack. She moved it off her shoulder. "See, it has my name." She smiled as her Papa looked at her card.

"Wow, baby girl, did you enjoy Nana reading at story time," Marshall asked smiling.

Susanah nodded. "Nana let me be her helper," she clapped her hands.

"Can we go to Nana's?" Sarah asked. She gave her daddy's leg a squeeze. "She's making pies and said we can lick the spoons. Mommy said no to the spoons but Grandma Sue said it was okay. But William told mommy no and then milk came out of his nose and Grandpa Charlie had to take him to the boy's room."

"Breathe Sarah," William sighed frustrated. His sister talked to much.

Sarah took a deep breath. "Grandpa Billy said milk came out of your nose when you were little because you had a crush on mommy but she didn't know you existed until she made mud pies with you. Why do boys pee standing up?" She looked up at her daddy with a big smile.

"Don't look at me," Bella stated trying not to laugh. "Between your dad and mine it's been an interesting day." She shook her head.

"Daddy, do you pee standing up?" Susanah asked. She crossed her arms and waited for an answer.

"Thanks Jacob," Embry muttered under his breath. "Hey, here comes Auntie Evie. Why don't you take her a towel?" He reached inside the bag Bella brought.

"Okay," Susanah happily clapped. "I need one for Uncle Toby." She smiled as her cheeks turned red.

Marshall put his great granddaughter down. He bit his lip to keep from laughing. His poor grandson was experience the first of many crushes Susanah would have in her lifetime.

Jacob leaned down and picked up his daughter. "How about we save that question until later," he said giving her ponytail a little tug.

"Okay daddy," Sarah answered. "Can I take Auntie Beth a towel?"

"Sure, sure sweetie," Jacob said as he put his daughter down. He gave her a towel from the bag.

"Dad, will you please find Sarah's off switch," William grumbled. He loved his sister but she talked a lot.

"Auntie Evie and Uncle Toby, I have towels," Susanah shouted as she ran towards her Aunt and Uncle.

"She has a crush on you," Evie teased. "Thank you Susanah." She wrapped the towel around herself. Dave still had his arm around her waist which was a good thing. The baby was very active at the moment as he kicked pushed on her bladder.

"Thanks Susie," Toby said as he squatted down. He tapped her nose. "You are the best." He quickly began to towel off. "Did you have a good day?" he asked.

Leah laughed as she watched her daughter flirt with Toby. "He is the only one allowed to call her Susie," she said throwing her arms around her husband as he made a face. "These little crushes will come and go but you will always be the only man in her life."

Embry smiled as he kissed Leah. How did he get so lucky?

Beth tried not to laugh as Sarah smiled at Rex. She toweled off as she walked towards Quil. "I'm sorry baby for being a pain in the butt," she said as she wiped a tear away. "As for … the wedding…" She wrapped her arms around Quil when he hugged her.

"Shh, don't even worry about it," Quil kissed the top of her head. "We are getting married tomorrow. I love you Beth." He smiled when she looked up at him.

"I love you Quil," Beth smiled.

"Please welcome Mr. and Mrs. Quil and Beth Ateara to the dance floor," the DJ announced as he began to play their song. "As they share their first dance as husband and wife," he said as he played 'Love on top' by Beyoncé.

Everyone clapped as Quil began to move to the song and twirl Beth around the dance floor. There were several people quite surprised they didn't dance to a slow song and sway back and forth. What few people knew was Quil and Beth spent three months coming up with the right song for their first dance and choregraphing the dance moves.

Paul had his arms around Evie as they watched their friends dance. He kissed her neck and she leaned back into him. It was a long day for them. After Marshall and Valisa fused over her they had no choice but to spend the night at Embry's. The guys were crashing at their place. He warned them the place was off limit for any hookups. Of course, it didn't stop Dave from hooking up with Beth's cousin in the shed.

"They are so happy," Evie said as she rubbed her belly. "The baby likes the music." She took a drink of her water.

"He likes the beat," Paul stated. He motioned for Embry and Leah to join them. "Where's the little one?" he asked knowing the question.

Embry rolled his eyes. "Where do you think?" he said making a face. "She's sitting with Toby giving Shyanne dirty looks." He shook his head. "My daughter has thrown me to side for a pretty boy." He scowled at Toby.

"Shyanne doesn't stand a chance," Leah laughed. "Susanah can take her." She kissed Embry's cheek as he frowned at her. "Sorry honey but your daughter has her first crush. But if it helps, William is keeping an eye on her and Sarah." She pointed to William as he crossed his little arms over his chest and watched the girls.

Evie laughed. "Sarah has Rex and Jerry wrapped around her little finger," she motioned to her friends. "They are great with the kids."

"Sarah let's get cake," William demanded. He glared at his Uncle Rex and Jerry. They were supposed to be his friends not Sarah's. Even Uncle Toby was playing with Susanah. His Uncle's promised to help him get cake. He continued to glare at his Uncle's while Sarah talked about stupid girl stuff.

Jacob walked into the Recreation Center and motioned for Embry and Paul to follow him outside. He had Edgar and Collin patrolling but they would be replaced with Jared and Gavin. They were only running two hour shifts since everything was quiet. Bella and Evie had their shield out in case there was any trouble. It was pure instinct to keep everything secure while they had visitors on the Res.

Paul kissed Evie and kneeled in front of her. He placed his hands on her belly. "Take care of mommy," Paul whispered to his unborn son. He patted Derek on the back as he passed him.

"Dad, I'm surprised you aren't talking to Quil's mom Joy," Evie joked. Over the last year as they planned the wedding, Joy and Derek got to know each other. They even went on a date after Old Quil threatened to hit them over the head. Everyone could see they were attracted to each other.

Derek gave his daughter a look. "I am waiting to dance with my granddaughter first," he replied. "Then I'll dance with Joy." He avoided looking at her. There was a part of him that felt guilty for wanting to spend time with Joy. He was still in love with Kathy.

"Come on Derek," Leah laughed. "Susanah will understand if you dance with Joy, besides she has her eye on someone else." She pointed to her daughter.

Marshall laughed as he took Valisa to the dance floor. His great grandbaby was leading Toby to the dance floor as well. She twirled around as her dress floated out. She threw a few rose petals. Susanah and Sarah did a great job as flower girls.

Shyanne was trying to get Toby's attention but Susanah kept interrupting them. She pouted as a four-year-old took the hottest guy out on the dance floor. She was not happy to be left at the table alone.

"Hi Grandpa," Susanah shouted as Toby picked her up. She waved and blew him a kiss.

Derek smiled and waved. "I thought we were dancing first," he stated. He laughed when she covered her face and turned red. "It's okay sweetie, you have fun and come get me when you're done." He turned to Evie and Leah.

"I am going to sit down," Evie said as she moved to one of the tables. "Your grandson is moving too much for my liking." She propped her feet up on the chair next to her.

"I'll dance with you," Leah smiled as she led her father in-law to the dance floor. "I'll even let you lead." She laughed when he gave her a shocked look.

Sarah had Jerry on the dance floor while William danced with his mom. He laughed when Bella spun him around.

Sam tried to dance with Emily but his three-year-old son had other ideas. He laughed as Sammy held his mom's belly and moved side to side. With Emily five months pregnant they really had no choice but to sway sideways. "Our daughter is never dancing with another guy," he whispered to Emily as he watched Susanah and Sarah.

"Please, our daughter will have you wrapped around her little finger," Emily replied with a smile. She watched Sarah and Susanah. "Besides those two love their daddies and as soon as they walk in, those girls will run to them." She kissed her husband's cheek.

Embry, Jacob and Paul walked in. Sarah spotted her daddy first and bowed to Jerry before running to her daddy with a big smile on her face. Susanah whispered thanks to Toby for the dance but as soon as he put her down, she called for her daddy and jumped into his waiting arms. She kissed his cheek.

Paul walked over to Evie and gave her a kiss. "I see Derek and Joy are dancing," he smirked. They deserved a little happiness after losing their spouses.

"Yeah, thanks to Leah. He hasn't admitting to having feelings or anything but it's pretty obvious," Evie said smiling.

"Quil talked to Embry the other day about Derek and Joy. He's okay with it along with Old Quil," Paul replied. He lifted her up and sat her on his lap.

"Everything okay?" she asked touching his cheek.

"Everything is perfect. Not a problem in the world and even if there were, you would know before me," he kissed her nose.

"True," she laughed. "But I like it quiet. Our family is happy and growing." She placed her hand over her stomach. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Rex dancing with one of Quil's cousin. Shyanne had Toby in a lip lock while Dave and Tank had a few girls hanging around them.

"The guys are having a good time," he pointed out. "It's hard to believe Shyanne is related to Gina." The girl had her hands all over Toby. Granted they were in a dark corner and no one could see them.

"My guys are going to take their time settling down. I doubt they will give up their single card before they are thirty. Dave and Jerry will probably wait until their forties." She shrugged thinking of them. They were happy playing the field. Rex was finishing up college while the others settled into their jobs.

Paul kissed his wife. They ignored Embry when he yelled they were corrupting the youth. Sarah and Susanah giggled and covered their eyes. William and Sammy made a face and took off towards the cake. "Hey, little man," he said rubbing Evie's stomach. "You might want to close your eyes later tonight. I plan on corrupting you mom." He laughed as she playfully hit his arm.

Three Months Later

Evie walked down the stairs and smiled. She pulled out her phone and snapped a shot of her beautiful son asleep on his daddy's chest. Her heart was full and nearly close to bursting. She never imagined loving someone unconditional at first sight. He looked exactly like his father but had her eyes. She took another picture as a smile graced her son's face.

"Morning beautiful," Paul quietly said, not wanting to wake his son. He was still amazed how much he love this little guy.

"Morning handsome," she replied before kissing him. "You never came back up." She kissed her son's little cheek before smelling his hair.

He chuckled. "You fell asleep after breastfeeding DJ," he said. He gently sat up while keeping his son covered. "We decided to let you sleep while we watched a movie. Poor guy crashed after ten minutes." He slowly moved the baby so he could cradle him.

She sat next to her husband and leaned her head on his shoulder. "You are a wonderful husband and father," she said caressing her son's check. "We are lucky to have you." She smiled when he kissed her forehead.

"How much longer do we have to wait?" he asked wiggling his eyebrows. As much as he loved spending these last four weeks caring for his son and wife, he missed being close to Evie.

"Two more weeks," she answered with a smile. She kissed him and let him deepen the kiss until the baby began to fuss.

"Cock blocker," he muttered as he patted his son's back.

She laughed and walked over to the changing table and pulled out a diaper. "You change the baby and I'll start breakfast." She turned on the lights in the kitchen and pulled out some potatoes.

"Nana and Papa are coming over later while I patrol," Paul said. "I know you can take care of yourself and DJ but it makes me feel better knowing you aren't alone." He disposed of the diaper and placed DJ in his bassinet.

"I understand," she called from the kitchen. His wolf was having a hard time being away from them.

"Oh, I almost forgot, Sam wants to know if you're okay with the plans for the house," he asked standing in the doorway watching his wife move around the kitchen.

"Sure," Evie said looking over her shoulder. "The master bathroom is bigger than we need but I can't argue with the separate shower and bath." She wiped her hands on the towel while the potatoes and sausage cooked. "The additional two rooms downstairs plus my office won't take away from the feel of the house."

He walked over to his wife and placed her on the counter. "Remember my brilliant theory of the counter being the perfect height," he said moving his hands up her thighs. He kissed along her neck and shoulder. The tank top hugged her full breast and the shorts showed off her shapely legs.

"Oh, I remember," she replied breathlessly as she moved her hands through his hair. "If I remember correctly, you tested the theory at least once a week. But we are not retesting that theory today." She gasped when he pulled close and she felt him pressing into her. "You are not playing fair," she moaned.

"I miss you babe," he said lightly kissing her lips. "What if I promise to be very careful?" He nibbled on her ear as he moved his hands under her shirt.

She pushed him away as she tried to catch her breath. "Paul, you are downright evil," she stated with her hands on her hips.

He groaned as he ran his hand down his face. "Two weeks is a long time," he pouted. She motioned for him to help her down from the counter. He bit her neck before putting her down.

She went to the stove and turned the sausage over and moved the potatoes around. "I'll make you a deal," she said replacing the lids. "Once I get cleared," she opened the fridge and pulled out a carton of eggs. "I'll have Nana or Dad watch DJ," she said as she tapped his nose, "and you will get to play out all those perverted little fantasies." He gave a big smile. "And yes, I'll even let you boost your ego but only once." He still got a kick of making her pass out.

He wrapped his arms around her waist. "Deal, but I am going with you to the doctors. There is a janitor's closet we can use to celebrate," he said. He gave her breast a gentle squeeze.

"We'll see," she laughed. "I think Leah and Bella have a doctor's appointment the same day as I do. Embry and Jacob might with them. You know how big brother gets when you corrupt his little sister."

He opened the cabinets and pulled out two plates. "The guys are going to be busy in the coming months covering shifts at the garage and patrolling," he commented. "Kim and Beth make four new additions to the Pack. Sam and Emily are due next month. The Pack is growing."

Evie picked up her phone before it rang a second time. "Hey Leah," she said making a plate for Paul. "How are feeling this morning?" She smiled when he kissed her and took the plates.

"Morning sickness," Leah scoffed. "Enough said." She groaned as she laid on her side. "I was wondering about the tea you drank when you were pregnant with DJ. I might as well try it." She pulled the covers over her daughter as she slept. Embry was in the shower.

"Chamomile worked in the beginning of my pregnancy," Evie answered. "Nana should have some. Or you can try Lemon Balm or Peppermint. Bella used those towards the end." She leaned against the counter.

"Who would have thought Beth and Quil's wedding would produce four pregnancies," Leah said holding her stomach.

"It must have been something in the food," Evie laughed. "But I must say, if I wasn't already pregnant, I definitely would have been that night." She fanned herself thinking of how she attacked Paul once they walked through the door. She couldn't not get enough of him. Still can't.

"Really Evie," Embry scoffed. "I don't want to hear about you and Paul." He made a face and ducked when Leah threw a pillow at him.

"Stop ease dropping on my conversation," Leah snapped.

"Call me after you win the argument," Evie laughed before hanging up.

"Embry has bad timing," Paul laughed. "He talked to Old Quil regarding Leah's wolf," he said pulling a seat out for her. "She hasn't phased in the past four years. He doubts she ever will again." He moved a strand of hair behind her ear.

Evie nodded as she took a quick bite of her eggs. "I agree," she said. "The wolf seems happy and content. Leah doesn't feel the wolf anymore." She placed her phone on the table. "The Cullen's are planning a visit around Christmas time. Rosalie and Esme want to see the kids. They realize it might be the last time since the kids are getting older and might start noticing they haven't aged." She placed her hand over his.

"Blonde is going to spoil DJ," he laughed. "Emmett already wants to wrestle him." He gave his wife's hand a squeeze.

"Please, my dad bought him a motorized Jeep and the baby is only a month old," she laughed with a shake of her head.

"The guys are coming to visit as well," he said. "We'll have to coordinate so they don't run into the Cullen's. Imagine those stooges seeing Rosalie."

She tapped her lips with her fingertips. "Yeah, Emmett wouldn't appreciate the stares or comments."

Paul groaned as his phone rang. The baby began to cry. "I'll get him," he said getting up. He grabbed his phone off the coffee table before picking up his son. "It's okay buddy," he said patting the baby on the back. He answered the phone and placed it between his cheek and shoulder. "Jacob, what's up?" he asked.

Evie walked into the living room and reached for the baby. "I got him," she said smiling. "He's probably hungry." She walked to the couch and cradled her son. He was already suckling as he waited for her breast.

He watched as Evie breast feed their son. It was one of the most beautiful things. "Sorry man, little Derek Jeffrey was hungry," he said taking a seat next to Evie. "Is there something wrong at the garage?" he caressed his son's cheek as he ate.

"Yeah, the new receptionist over booked us and I am shorthanded today," Jacob replied. "I know it's your day off but I could really use the help." He took the cup of coffee Bella handed him. "Thanks honey," he said giving her a kiss.

"Sure, no problem," Paul responded. "Umm… give me fifteen minutes and I'll meet you at the garage." He got up and headed upstairs to take a quick shower.

"Well it's just you and me," Evie said as she kissed the top of her son's head. She pulled out her phone and sent Bella, Leah and Beth a quick text. They might as well work on the schedule for the carnival. She smiled as her son closed his eyes and gave a little smile. His tummy was full and he was ready to sleep.

Paul turned off the shower and quickly dried up. He preferred to stay home with his family but business was going great. He got dressed and headed downstairs. Evie was placing the baby in his bassinet. "He's out for the count," he whispered looking down at his son.

"Yeah," she smiled. "Bella and Beth are coming over in a while to go over the schedule for the carnival. Leah might stop by, depending on her morning sickness. Nana texted, she needs time with her sweet little boy and will be here in twenty minutes. Apparently, she can't wait until tonight to see him." She wrapped her arms around Paul's waist as she leaned against him.

"I never thought my life would ever end up this way," he said kissing the top of her head. "The thought of settling down and having a family was the last thing I wanted." He lifted her chin. "Thank you for loving me with all my faults. I can't imagine a life without you and DJ." He kissed the tip of her nose.

She smiled. "We are both lucky," she said before he kissed her.
