Hey readers! Here it is my next chapter. I'm thinking this might be the last? I dunno tell me what you think... If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'd love to hear them! I've been reading other fanfics and getting the feeling mine doesn't even begin to come close to how good their's are! Seems silly really but I love writing fanfics, I always have even if this is only my second fanfic I've 'published' on here. Chapter 30

Hinata sat in bed debating with herself what to do with her day and deciding the need to go for a walk and breath the fresh crisp air the world had to offer would do her some good. Plus she needed the distraction, Naruto would be busy most likely the whole day as delegates from all the Shinobi nations had arrived the day before to discuss any developments in each of their villages which may cause concern for another.

Naruto stood in the bathroom after his shower and with a towel wrapped round his waist and walked out to greet his wife. She had still been asleep when he had entered the bathroom and with her not having a restful sleep some nights he decided it best to let her rest as much as possible.

Hearing his wife's sudden intake of breath at his appearance made him smirk.

"Like what you see do you?" He asked mischievously.

Hinata threw a pillow in his direction, missing on purpose. Naruto just chuckled at her antics and decided teasing her was too much fun.

"You all prepared for today?" Hinata asked while watching Naruto dress.

"As much as I can be. I guess I just have to see it as training, even if it is a drag. I'd much rather be home with you." He added walking over and kissing her.

"I know you would." She smiled.

Whilst he continued to dress Naruto inquired what Hinata planned with her day. When she told him her intentions of going for a walk Naruto was at first unsure. With her now being 38 weeks pregnant his protective instincts were screaming at him to keep her in the house where she would be safe and wrap her up in cotton wool. But on the other hand he knew Hinata would hate that plus she is a strong shinobi in her own right. He trusted her to know her limits.

"I'll be ok Naruto-Kun." She assured him. Walking up to him and placing a reassuring hand on his cheek.

"I know." He smiled down at her and placed his hand over hers. "Will you allow Kurama to come with you? Just in case."

"Will it put you at ease?" Naruto nodded. So Hinata agreed and walked to the bathroom to start her morning ritual.

Hinata walked slowly in the direction of training ground 10. It was by far her favourite training ground. Not only was it a beautiful training ground with it's waterfall and surrounding forest, but it was also the place Naruto and Hinata had gone to watch the fireworks on their first date and the place they had married.

"Why don't you go on my back and I'll carry the rest of the way?"

"That would defeat the object going for a walk wouldn't it." Hinata stroked Kurama's head, with him being about the size of a very large dog it was easily at her arms length now.

"Woman get your hands off me, people will think I've gone soft." Hinata chuckled and the pair carried on gently walking in silence.

Walking in the direction of the training grounds Hinata and Kurama had to walked past the academy. Seeing the old swing their hanging from the tree Hinata felt the longing in her heart and stopped in her stride. Kurama sensing her uneasiness to carry on walking sat at her feet.

"He was so lonely wasn't he?" Hinata looked down at Kurama who gave her a slight nod. "D-Do you think if I had the courage to talk to him sooner it could have been different?"

"Perhaps. But what's pasted is past. There's no use dwelling on it."

Hinata walked to the swing and sat there letting her feet move her gently to and throw.

"Hinata?"

Hinata looked up to see Iruka sensei and many children's eyes upon her.

"O-oh. Good morning Iruka sensai." Hinata stood bowing to her former teacher. "I'm sorry have I disturbed your teaching."

"Nonsense. It's break time." Iruka smiled standing beside her. Iruka inquired after her health as they watched the children play with Kurama.

"Look at me! Look at me! I'm Uzumaki Naruto and I will save the world!" A young boy declared. Hinata and Iruka couldn't help but laugh as the children played ninja wars.

"Oh yeah well I am Hinata Hyuga and I will save your punk arse." A girl shouted.

"Urh I'm not marrying you!" The boy playing Naruto protested. "Not when my real wife is here." He bowed to Hinata and took her hand.

"I will destroy everything you love!" Another dark haired boy shouted.

"Have no fear my lady I will protect you!"

"No No No!" He girl who had proclaimed herself to be Hinata protested. "Hinata doesn't need protecting, she's strong! And she saved Naruto twice!"

Hinata blushed, she had no idea the children included her in their 'war games' she had heard them pretending to be Naruto, Sasuke, Madara and Sakura on many occasions but never her.

"Alright! Alright, I think that's enough play time for you lot everyone back inside before this war destroys our play ground." Iruka clapped his hands.

"You spoil all our fun." The boy pretending to be Naruto moaned watching all his friends start to slowly make their way towards the building. Hinata quickly tapped the boys shoulder.

"Thank you for protecting me." She smiled and gently going on her knees gave the boy a kiss on his cheek. His friends cheered and laughed seeing his face blush. He quickly bowed and ran towards the school building. Hinata took the hand Iruka offered and tried to pull herself up off the floor. Stumbling a little Kurama quickly righted stood on her other side and nudged her up.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"Kurama is so sweet isn't he? I wish I had a pet like him." They heard one of the children in the class say, her classmates agreeing with her.

"Foolish woman. Now people think I've gone soft thanks to you." Kurama grumbled, although with no venom behind his words Hinata and Iruka chuckled knowing full well Kurama had 'gone soft' during the war. Hinata followed Kurama after saying her goodbye's to her former teacher and his class. Sensing an uneasy feeling in her stomach area she put it down to having gotten up either too fast or not very steadily.

Laying in the sun on her side, with Kurama as a pillow Hinata felt totally at ease with her surroundings. Hearing nature around her was soothing to her soul. The birds singing in the woods and seeing them flying in the sky, the water crashing down and every now and then feeling its spray on her face depending what direction the wind was blowing in. The feeling in her stomach had eased but every now and then it would come back causing her some slight discomfort. However when this happened Kurama would lift his head and look in her direction watching her every move, he must have been able to feel her body automatically tensing up. Assuring him she was fine and was just feeling a little tired Kurama would relax and close his eyes again, but every now and again open an eye just to make sure.

Waking up from her nap Hinata soon realised it must had been about mid afternoon. Her stomach pains had not subsided as she'd hoped but she put that down to having skipped lunch. Rolling on to her hands and knees Hinata gingerly stood. Kurama awoke feeling her heat having left his side and shook himself awake. Watching Hinata stroke her stomach and gently tell the unborn child food was coming he realised their situation quickly.

"Get on." He commanded. Signalling with his head she would ride his back like Kiba does with Akamaru.

"Kurama, there is no need t-"

"Why are women so stubborn? You are in need of food and hydration and I will get us home quicker. Now get on!"

Sitting at the table having now eaten one of Naruto's emergency ramen and a calming tea Hinata was feeling a little better. However she was now experiencing tightening in her stomach area and she had no idea what to do. Her lower back was causing her some pain, but wasn't this all just pregnancy related? What if she was worrying for nothing? Seeing Kurama's gaze on her again Hinata smiled at him and walked towards to lounge area. However walking was becoming quite painful, perhaps her walk this morning hadn't been her best idea?

"NARUTO!"

Hinata jumped hearing her husbands name being called frantically through the door and the loud banging that followed.

"Dobe open this fucking door before I blow it off it handles-"

"G-Good afternoon Sasuke-Kun." Hinata pulled the door open and gripped the handle feeling the need to keep a hold of something to steady herself. "N-Naruto is in a meeting at the Hokage tower today." She explained through gritted teeth.

"I see." Sasuke crossed his arms over his chest and looked to the plotted plants beside the door.

"Would you like- Would you like some tea?" Hinata offered through her pain.

"When will he be back?"

"I-I don't know."

"Hn."

Sensing they were at a stand still Hinata held the door open for Sasuke and grabbed on to the nearest thing she could now she had had to let go of the door handle.

"Hyuga is there something wrong?"

"It's Uzumaki." She corrected him, hearing Sasuke close the door.

"Fine." He sighed exasperated. "Uzumaki, is there something wrong with you?"

"I wish people would stop asking me that I'm perfectly -" Hinata stopped herself feeling a sudden gush of water and looked down seeing the puddle now at her feet and looked shocked from the puddle to the two males now in her hallway.

"Hyuga?" Sasuke asked somewhat demanding. "Hyuga?" He tried again, seeing her shocked state. "Uzumaki?" He quickly walked up to her and stood in front of her. "Hinata what the fuck is going on?"

Hearing her name Hinata looked at the Uchiha before her.

"I-I think my waters just broke."

"Uchiha go upstairs and grab the hospital bag in the baby's room. Hinata on my back now we're going to the hospital!" Kurama gave orders. Hinata heard rather than saw Sasuke run upstairs and came crashing back down again.

"Hinata grab the bag. Let's go."

"B-But I can't be in labour."

"Well I'm not taking chances now get on my back or I'll carry you with my mouth." Climbing on Kurama's back Hinata held on to the fur around his neck.

"Wait wait." She cried feeling another pain coming on. "Sasuke you have to get Naruto he can't miss this. I need him." Sasuke nodded his head. "And my father and sister and kiba an-"

"Shall I just tell the whole village?" He rolled his eyes smirking.

"Who knew? The Uchiha actually tells jokes." Kurama back talked and quickly jumped out the door.

"Hinata?" Sakura walked to the welcoming desk having heard a commotion whist she was another patient.

"Sakura I told her she not allowed to bring pets into the room with her but she won't listen."

"I told you woman, I'm no pet!" Kurama growled.

"Sakura I'm sorry." Sakura saw the tears gently rolling down her friends face and took her hand. "I-I need Kurama with me he's a connection to Naruto I need-"

"Ok. Ok. Come on. With me, the both of you."

"But Sakura chan wh-" The receptionist protested.

"He stays! Under my authority got it?!"

Hinata sat on Kurama again and they followed Sakura into a lift. Kurama filled her in on all the details he could of their day from how long she'd slept to how long the pains had been going on.

"He watches you like a hawk doesn't he?" Sakura smiled.

"HE. Is right here you know." Kurama grumbled.

"Kurama is very caring, he is a great friend." Hinata stroked him feeling relief at having his with her today. She would have to thank Naruto later as it was his idea to begin with.

"So we're going to have to examine you and see if this is labour. And if so how far along you are. We'll take it from there really. I know you want a water birth, so that can be arranged still but again that depends how far into labour you are. Where's Naruto by the way?"

"He's in a meeting in the Hokage tower. Sasuke is bringing him."

"Sasuke?" Sakura stopped her walking, as they were now in the labour suite corridor. "Sasuke is coming here?"

"the Uchiha happened to be at the residence looking for Naruto when Hinata's waters broke."

"Is everything alright?" Hinata asked seeing Sakura's hesitation.

"Let's get you sorted first." Sakura avoided the question and opened a door to what would now become Hinata's room.

"This meeting is troublesome." Shikamaru muttered to Naruto as they were both stood up against the wall. Naruto agreed, this had to be the most boring meeting of his entire life and that was saying something. The 5 Kages sat around a circular table, a sign that each were equal in their own right, no one was 'in charge' so to speak. Naruto was here as Hokage Kakashi's body guard along with Shikamaru who also had the role of adviser to their Hokage as he was worldly renowned as a genius and the smartest person in Konoha.

Hearing shouts and the sound of fists outside the door Naruto and Shikamaru, along with the other body guards of the Kages, quickly stood as human wall shielding the Kages from harm. The door to the room burst revealing Sasuke Uchiha.

"Uchiha." The fourth Raikage sneered. "I knew we shouldn't have trusted you."

"I had to get in but the bastards wouldn't let me." Sasuke explained looking directly at Naruto. "I'm not here to start any trouble."

"You may have fooled this village Uchiha, but I am not. You have entered a secret meeting that no one but the people in this room knew about."

"And one other." Sasuke corrected the Raikage.

"Who else knew?"

Naruto looked puzzled at his best friend. His mind was scrambled, going from one emotion to another. Sasuke wouldn't betray the village again would he? Why was he here? Who did he mean one other person knew about the meeting?

"Get there quicker, Dobe! It's not like my freedom depends on it." Sasuke could piratically see the cogs of Naruto's brain working in slow motion. Naruto looked at his best friend suddenly realising who he meant.

"Hinata?" Naruto questioned.

"Yes Hinata!" Sasuke threw his arms up in the air at his idiot friend. "She's heading to the hospital, her waters broke! Now go!"

Without hearing another word Naruto ran towards the window and jumped.

"He couldn't have used the door?" Garra asked.

"Naruto." Kakashi shrugged his shoulder's, having said the only explanation he needed to. "I think we're done here don't you." Kakashi stated and grabbing his Hokage hat left the room with Sasuke following him heading towards the hospital.

"I need to inform Hiashi and Hinata's team." Sasuke explained.

"I think you've made enough of an entrance for one evening don't you?" Kakashi clicked his fingers and 5 anbu seemingly dropped from the ceiling. "You know what to do. Former team Kurenai and Hyuga Hiashi need to be informed of Hinata Uzumaki's condition. Dismissed."

By now Hinata was in her own room, she had been examined and told she was 5cm dilated. The birthing pool was in the corner of the room being filled by one of the midwives. Kurama stayed by Hinata's side throughout. When the examination by the female doctor had become uncomfortable enough for Hinata to moan a little in pain Kurama had nudged his wet nose under her hand as sign he was there for her.

"The water is ready Uzumaki Sama." The midwife informed her. Hinata was already in her bikini and top she had decided she didn't mind getting wet and walked, with Kurama's help to the water pool. Climbing the steps was a little tricky now she couldn't see past her stomach but she managed. Placing a tentative foot into the water to feel the temperature Hinata sighed feeling the water soothing her already.

"I'm here!" Naruto shouted. Throwing the door to Hinata's room open with such force it crashed into the wall. Hinata screamed at the sudden appearance of her husband and lost her balance. Kurama was beside her but could do nothing to help other than let her land on him. Naruto on the other hand, was behind her in a split second and cradled her in his arms.

"You're here?" She smiled, tears slowly forming in her arms.

"Didn't think I'd leave you do this all by yourself did you?"

"No. But I wasn't by myself, Kurama is with me."

"You idiot." Kurama growled at Naruto. "She could had fallen. Go and change." Naruto gently placed Hinata on to the top step in the water and quickly went to the bathroom to indeed change into his swimming shorts he'd had to buy especially.

"I heard a loud bang. I take Naruto is here?" Sakura asked. Having knocked on the door and helping Hinata into the water.

"You are correct." Kurama grumbled.

Getting herself comfy in the water Hinata sighed feeling the water go to over her stomach, she had been right to think the water birth would be best for her, the water was indeed helping her to relax more through the contractions.

Sakura handed Hinata an oxygen mask and told her whenever she felt the contractions to use that for now to help with the pain.

Hearing the door to the bathroom open Hinata turned to see Naruto in his black swimming shorts with an orange stripe down the sides.

"Sakura chan I didn't know you were delivering the baby."

"Oh I'm not. I'm just over looking really. I'm not a midwife so this isn't really my skill. But I'll be around if you need me."

Hearing a knock at the door Sakura opened it, only to close it again.

"Sakura?" Hinata asked.

"I have to go. But I'll come check on you later ok."

"Sakura I-"

"Not now Sasuke." Sasuke sighed seeing her walking briskly away.

"Am I ok to come in?" Sasuke inquired.

"What's going on with you two?" Naruto questioned.

"Nothing for you to worried about right now." Sasuke answered, pointing towards Hinata who was going through another contraction.

"I just wanted to inform you team 8 and Hiashi have been informed and are no doubt on their way here."

Naruto gave his friend a thumbs up indicating he had heard him but he was currently helping Hinata to breath through the contraction and giving her his attention. Kurama was on his hind legs with his front legs leaning on the bathing pool and his head on Hinata's shoulder.

"Ok Hinata we're nearly there now." The midwife was telling them. "Judging by the contractions I'd say we're in full labour now. I need to just have a quick feel to see if I'm correct?"

Hinata nodded, she could do nothing more, the oxygen was making her feel sick and dizzy at times so she'd dropped the mask. Hinata took hold of Naruto's hand and squeezed feeling the midwife examine her.

"Ok Hinata you're fully dilated. In your next contraction I want you to start pushing."

Feeling the contraction taking over her body Hinata felt a need in her body to push. It was almost like some force, whether it be celestial or earthly force she didn't know all she knew was she had to push.

Naruto held his breath, he was in awe of how Hinata was handling labour. He was sat in front her with her legs resting over either side of his, as the midwife had instructed. Through the water he could make out her body, her bikini bottoms had been removed when the midwife had checked on her in the previous hour.

"That's it Hinata you're doing really well. Now take a breath for me and keep going if you feel the need to."

Hinata pushed down through her pelvic floor crying out with the last of her breath.

"I can see the head!" Naruto shouted, tears of happiness already rolling down his face. This was it, he realised, this was the moment they would become not just a couple, but a family.

"Ok Hinata just breath and wait for the next contraction. Push like that again and I think you could be holding that baby in your arms in the next 5 minutes." The midwife informed her.

"We're going to be parents." Hinata held Naruto's hand and felt tears of pain become tears of happiness.

Naruto leaned over and moved a piece of hair that kept sticking to Hinata's face. The bun that she had tied her hair in upon entering the water had become loose, perspiration glistened off her skin under the glow of the lights but in this moment Naruto felt his love for Hinata even more. She was giving him more than he'd ever dreamed of, not only did he now have a beautiful wife to come home to he now had a family. A family of his very own.

"Naruto place your hands between Hinata's legs, you need to hold the baby as it starts coming out." The midwife advised him.

Hinata felt the next contraction and again began to push, throwing her head back she cried out.

"Come on Hinata you're almost there." Naruto assured her. "I believe it."

Hinata watched Naruto with her next push, seeing the concentration on his face as he was watching their baby be pushed out of her and his arms fully submerged into the water cradling their child. With the last of her effort she felt the baby leave her body.

"I got it. I got it." Naruto excitedly announced. Removing the baby's head from out of the water, Naruto moved to Hinata's side wanting her to see their beautiful child. Hearing their child's first cry Naruto and Hinata laughed and cried with joy.

"Is it a boy or girl?" Hinata asked having caught her breath.

"We have a son." Naruto kissed Hinata lovingly.

"Congratulations Uzumaki family." The midwife said tenderly.

"What the hell is taking so long?" Kiba grumbled looking up at the clock for what felt like the millionth time. The occupants of the waiting room had heard Hinata cry out in pain about half an hour ago and had heard nothing since. No one had either entered or left the room. Hiashi paced the room and would stop every so often to look at the door to Hinata and Naruo's suite. His concern for his eldest daughter outweighed any thought of hiding his emotions like the Hyuga clan so often did. Hanabi was sat on her hands trying to stop them from shaking. Sasuke and Kakashi were also sat on chairs around the room each with a paper cup in their hand of coffee which by now had gone cold. Shino stood near the far wall watching Kiba nervously look from the clock to the door and back to the clock again. Kurenai placed a reassuring hand on Kiba's shoulder and sent a prayer that Hinata was indeed alright. Sakura, Ino and Tenten whispered quietly together in a corner.

Seeing the midwife leave the room Hiashi was the first to respond and quickly strode towards her.

"How is my daughter?" He begged.

"Hyuga-Sama." The midwife bowed. "The Uzumaki's are ready to see you all now." She smiled. Everyone jumped out their seats or from where they were standing and followed after the Hyuga leader.

Hiashi took in the scene before him, Hinata was lay in a bed her hair in a loose bun cradling what appeared to be blanket in her arms. Naruto was lay on his side facing her with an arm over her shoulder's and with his other hand placed on the bundle of blanket in Hinata's arms. Kurama lay in the middle of the couple with his head on Hinata's stomach.

"Hey grampa." Naruto looked up at Hiashi. "Say hello to your grandson, Boruto."
