Back with Amy, Sally, and Mighty, Amy and Mighty were under the drop ship while Sally remained above instructing them on what to do. "Hey Sally, how exactly is this going to work?"

Sally sighed. "I told you five times…Current flows to the electromagnet. That opens the poppet valve. Rockets fire."

Mighty worked on splicing the wire while Amy sat nearby. He finished the job and wiped the sweat from his brow. "Okay, I got the good wire ready to graft on," he shouted.

"How'd you learn to do this, anyway?" Amy asked curiously.

"Tails taught me…"

Suddenly she wished she hadn't asked. "We'll find him after this. I promise. Mighty only nodded slightly.

"What's next, Sally?" It was quiet as Mighty and Amy waited for Sally's next orders. They heard a faint thump above them. "Sally?"

Amy made her way back up to the surface and saw Sally lying on her side unconscious. She quickly made her way over and felt her pulse. Mighty popped his head through the opening in the floor to see what had happened. He looked worried as Amy checked her. "…Is she?"

"Not yet, but soon…" Amy sat with her.

Over the radio they heard Jet communicating to the other gunmen. "They just overtook the West gate. There's hundreds of them, game over, man!"

Amy looked at Mighty with seriousness. "Just hurry and finish it."

Mighty nodded before going back down. "Right."

Amy could hear the shouting and screaming as the grounders closed in on their camp. Drago finished shooting his last round. "There's too many! Everyone in the drop ship!"

Amy came outside. "No! We need more time. Gunners to your post, the rest of you inside." The teens not fighting quickly rushed inside as Amy assisted to usher them in. The grounders did their best to climb the fence. They stopped when a loud boom exploded above them. Everyone looked to the sky to see a bright orange light descending. The ark was making its way into the atmosphere.

"Is that from the ark?" a girl standing nearby asked.

Amy stared up astonished. "That is the ark…"

Lien-Da and Tristan watched as the ark came into view. "Reinforcements…" Lien-Da gasped.

Tristan scoffed. "When they get here, they won't find anyone alive." He looked back towards the gate. "Take down the gate!" They started to make their way over the fence until they heard a distinct hoot and hollering coming from behind them. All the grounders looked back and saw Sonic and Knuckles running towards them. Behind them were a large group of reapers chasing after them.

Tristan scowled. "Reapers!" he shouted.

Sonic and Knuckles dodged to the left and the reapers stopped chasing after them when they saw the large amount of grounders standing before them. The grounders and reapers had a stare down as they sized each other up. Tristan gave one last battle cry before going after them. His grounder army followed after him, and the reapers did the same charging towards their opponents.

Sonic hoped over the fence. He panted as he caught his breath before he spotted Amy standing by the drop ship door. "Ames!"

Amy turned and smiled when she saw the blue hedgehog. "Sonic!" She ran towards him and leaped into his arms. He caught her and held her in a loving embrace. "Thank god you're okay…"

"I told you I'd be fine," he smiled.

She broke away from his hug. "What did you do?" she asked curiously.

"I kicked the hornet's nest," he chuckled.

"…You brought the reapers?" she said with concern.

"I bought us some time," he justified. "How's Sal?"

Amy frowned. "She's not good…"

Sonic grabbed her hand as they walked back towards the drop ship. "C'mon, I've got the medicine."

"Good." She took the bag from him. "The rockets aren't ready yet. Mighty is working on them."

Shadow was on the other side of the gates holding Rouge. He was trying to find a way to get past the grounders to get Rouge to safety. He hid behind some trees with her as they watched the grounders fight another group of echidnas with tattoos and piercings. Shadow was unaware that those were the reapers. "What the hell is going on?" Rouge whispered.

"I have no idea, but they're distracted. Maybe this is our chance…" A branch cracked behind them and Shadow spun around.

Knuckles stood there showing no threat. "Rouge!"

Shadow stared at the grounder with hatred. Rouge beamed at the sight of him. "Knuckles!" She got out of Shadow's arms and limped into Knuckles' arms. The two hugged. Shadow watched from the sidelines. He could see the echidna was very emotional as he held his sister.

"You do this?" Shadow asked referring to the distraction of reapers.

"With Sonic, yes." Knuckles looked down at the arrow still protruding from her leg. His hand hovered near it. "It's deep…" He looked to Shadow. "I can help her, but you have to let her come with me now."

Without any hesitation he nodded. "Go." Rouge looked surprised by her brother's response. Shadow smiled weakly at his sister. "You can't walk and I can't get you back to the drop ship," he argued.

"He's right," Knuckles agreed. "This fight is over for you." Rouge stared at her brother conflicted.

"Rouge, listen to me. I told you my life ended the day you were born, but the truth is…it didn't start until then," he smiled.

Rouge felt tears well in her eyes. "Shadow…"

"Go with him. I need you to live. Besides, I got this," he chuckled. Rouge hugged her brother one last time. Shadow hugged back.

She sniffed. "I love you big brother."

He smiled. "May we meet again," he replied.

She smiled back. "May we meet again," she repeated. Knuckles scooped Rouge up into his arms and started to turn to leave.

"Keep her safe," Shadow stated.

"I will." He quickly rushed off into the darkness of the woods leaving Shadow behind.

The grounders had finished killing the reapers. Tristan pulled his bloody sword out of one of the reapers heads. He looked to his other comrades. "Get to the wall!" The grounders charged and climbed over the walls killing the gunmen standing their position.

Drago came inside the drop ship holding his bloody shoulder. "Amy, they're taking down the gate!" Amy had just finished administrating the medicine to Sally to slow down the internal bleeding.

Mighty popped back up the surface. "I did it!" he chimed. That was great news for Amy.

"Get everyone inside," she instructed. Drago nodded and rushed out. Amy went out and stood on the drop ship platform. "Everyone get inside!" she shouted.

Sonic followed her out, but rushed over and pushed Amy down as an arrow almost struck her. "Watch out!" He fell on top of her shielding her from harm. He helped hide her behind some wooden logs. "We need to get back inside!" he shouted over the screaming and blasts.

"Shadow hasn't got back yet!" she shouted over the blasts.

Suddenly, Shadow appeared from behind a bush as he crept back into camp. "There he is," Sonic pointed.

Amy saw the distance he was from the drop ship and the amount of grounders in his way. "He's never going to make it," she whispered. "Shadow, run!"

Shadow grabbed a gun lying on the floor and started to make his way back. He aimed at the echidna and pulled the trigger but only came up with a blank. Tristan spotted him and slashed his sword at him. Shadow dodged the swing but was punched in the face. He fell back from the punch but was picked up again and kneed in the gut. Amy watched in horror as Tristan beat him. "He's killing him!"

Sonic knew he needed to act quickly if he was going to save him. He spotted a teen running back towards the drop ship. He got to his feet and grabbed the gun from him. "Give me that!" He ran over aiming the gun towards the grounder and took a shot. The bullet grazed the grounder in the shoulder getting his attention. Amy watched as Sonic ran towards Shadow to help.

"Sonic, no!" Amy cried.

Drago came up behind Amy and grabbed her. "Amy, you can't save everybody!" He started dragging her inside. "Let's go!" Sonic helped lift Shadow to his feet but was suddenly grabbed from behind and chucked back. He rolled across the dirt grunting. He rolled onto his side and sat up. From a far he could see Amy watching in distress.

Amy struggled as Drago practically dragged her back inside. "No, Sonic!" she cried out. Sonic looked over at Amy. He gave her a nod telling her he'd be fine. He had to quickly look away as a grounder charged towards him. Shadow tackled the grounder stabbing him in the back of the neck. The grounder fell dead on the floor and Shadow got off him. "Faker."

"Shadow."

Amy pulled down on the lever to close the door to the drop ship. She sadly began to walk further inside as her mind raced with thoughts of Sonic and Shadow on the outside. She wondered if they'd survive or not. The rest of the teens had gathered inside and sat on the floor huddled in groups to bunker down.

Meanwhile back outside, Lien-Da and her warriors searched for more teens to kill. A loud metal creaking caused Lien to look to her left. She watched as the drop ship door lifted up to close. Lien narrowed her eyes and charged towards it with a battle cry. She jumped up and grabbed the edge lifting herself up, and rolling down the side of the door just before it closed. The rest of her warriors banged on the outside of the door now sealed out from the teens.

Lien-Da rolled down into the drop ship and all the teens looked at her and gasped. She had come to realize she was outnumbered by the teens, but that wasn't going to stop her from trying. The shooters that were inside aimed their guns at her. Lien held out her two swords, one in each hand and eyed the boys carefully, waiting for their next move.

Amy looked over to Mighty behind her. He was holding a control panel in his hands as he watched Lien-Da. "Mighty, now!" she ordered.

Mighty looked down and flipped a switch to activate the rockets under the drop ship. Nothing happened and he looked up from the control panel. The grounders outside continued to bang on the drop ship and crawl up the sides to find a way inside. Lien-Da continued to stare down the teens, wondering what Amy was up to. Mighty continued to fiddle with the switch. He moved it back and forth praying it would work. "Come on…"

Amy focused her attention back to Lien-Da. She walked back over to her but stayed a good distance back. "Lien, you can't win…"

"I can still try…" she muttered. She screamed and swung her sword at Amy. Amy dodged out of its aim but before Lien could swing again she was knocked out from behind. Jet had used his gun to pistol-whip her from behind. Lien-Da lay on the ground unconscious.

"Get her tied up and-"

Suddenly the rockets kicked in and fire engulfed around the drop ship from outside. All the grounders pounding on the doors of the drop ship were instantly incinerated. Their screams of pain didn't last long as they were eaten alive by the flames. Grounders nearby caught on fire from the past and ran away with flames on their clothes.

Back on the ark, Jaha sat in the control room trying to reach the ark that had landed on Mobius. He had watched the ark's coordinates and had seen they landed on Mobius, but hadn't gotten contact from them. "This is Mobius monitoring station. Please come in." All he could hear was static on the other end, until he heard a muffled voice cutting through.

The voice started to come in clearer. "Mecha station is on the ground," a female voice said.

Jaha immediately recognized the voice. "Abby?"

"Yes, it's me, Jaha. We made it. We're on the ground," she said happily.

He was relieved to hear she had made it to the ground. "Can you see any sign of the others?" he asked.

Inside the ark, everyone was collecting their bearings as they stood up and stretched their legs. Abby looked up to the hatch on the ceiling. "I'm heading outside now." She climbed up a ladder and opened a hatch on the ceiling. She pulled herself up and stood on top of the ark, breathing in her first breath of fresh air. She looked at the magnificent mountains and trees around her. She could hear the sounds of nature emanating around her.

"How is it?" Jaha asked curiously.

Abby gasped as she took in her surroundings. "It's everything I've ever imagined and more…" Jaha listened to her describe her first time breathing in fresh air. He was happy for her, but couldn't help but feel sad that he would not be able to experience it for himself. "You should be here, Jaha…you would love it."

Kane popped out from the hatch and squinted as the sun shined in his eyes. "My god…" he said as he looked around. He pulled himself up and stood looking over to a forest. "Abby, look!" he pointed. A smoke cloud hung in the distance.

"We think we might know where the others have landed. Abby out," she said over her monitor.

Jaha sighed as he tapped out of his communications. He pushed himself away from his desk and slowly stood to his feet. "I guess there's only one last thing to do."

Jaha walked through the empty halls of the remainder of the ark. He held a bottle of whiskey in his hand as he walked the quiet halls. He stopped at one of the windows looking out onto the view of Mobius. He looked down at the bottle in his hands. "This'll help pass the time, I presume…"

He opened it and poured himself a cup. Jaha stared out the window and lifted his hand with the cup. "May we meet again." He cheered himself and drank.

Meanwhile back with the hundred, the door to the drop ship opened and revealed the site of dust, bones, and charred remains. Lien-Da had been subdued and was tied up. Two boys escorted her out while the rest of the teens came out to see the aftermath. Amy stared down at the remains wondering if some of these may be Sonic and Shadows. She could only hope they had made it out before meeting their death.

Mighty walked out with a gun in hand and stared down at the remains of the grounder warriors. "Now what?" he asked. Suddenly a can was chucked right in the middle of the teens. It released a red gas that filled the air around them. "What the?" Two other cans were chucked from different directions and did the same. The teens became frantic as they aimed their guns waiting for visual of their enemy. The red smoke made it hard to see who their enemy was.

"What the hell?" Jet barked.

Lien-Da's face became panicked as she instantly recognized the attack. "Mountain men…" Everyone breathing in the smoke collapsed to their knees as they choked on the fumes. Men wearing HAZMAT suits and holding sniper rifles came charging in. Amy felt herself becoming weak as she fell onto her knees and shielded her mouth and nose from the fumes. A person wearing a HAZMAT suit with a gun came up to her and cocked his head to the side with interest. Amy was fading fast and had no means of defending herself. She looked up one last time as she came face to face with the barrel end of a gun. In a matter of seconds everything went black as she lost consciousness.

•~•

Amy opened her eyes and found herself in a strange white room. Classical music played subtly in the background and she slowly sat up to her new surroundings. She realized she was barefoot and wearing a new outfit. She wore a complete white ensemble of a white tank top and shorts. She also had an IV in her arm giving her fluids.

Amy got out of bed and walked around her room taking in her surroundings. The facility she was in looked just like your average hospital room. It almost reminded her of one she'd find in the medical ward of the ark, but she knew she wasn't on the ark. Amy walked over to the door and stared out the small window. Through the window she could see another door with a window across from her room. She reached for the doorknob to open it but found that she was locked inside. Becoming panicked she continued to try to wiggle the door handle to open it, but it was no use.

A figure passed by the window at the other door and she saw it was Tails! Tails caught sight of her and looked relieved at her. "Amy!" he said excitedly. She could hear his muffled voice as he tried to open the door as well but found the same problem; it was locked.

On the left next to Tails' room there was a sign that read: "G.U.N Bunker Quarantine Ward." Amy stared in astonishment as she realized where she was. The place the teens were trying to get to this whole time was now where she was trapped. The only question now was who were these people inside the bunker, and what did they want with the hundred?

Author's Note: Hope you all don't mind, but I'll be putting this story on hiatus for a bit. Not because I have writer's block or anything, but because I've started to become a little more busy at the moment. Please remember to leave a review if there is anyone out there that reads this anymore, heh. May we meet again.
