Hey,
My updates are as slow as my thought process and for that i am so sorry.
Thank you all for still sticking with me, we have a long way to go, so i hope ya'll will still be here then!
Life is a highway chapter 31:
The four of them got up early to pack up and prepare to go.
Henry was lazing in bed as Regina yelled at him to move his butt when actually he was trying to prolong the time he could spend with Regina.
Eventually, he got up with Regina using her magic to wake him up.
He took his time in the shower which gave Regina more time to pack up and get dressed.
They met in the lobby and checked out. Regina went to get the car and drove to the airport for breakfast.
They got sandwiches at a Quinzos and sat down for lunch.
In no time at all, it was time for Henry, Emma and Killian to depart.
"Time sure flies when you're having fun. See you soon Regina."
She was about to give her a hug when Regina put up her hand and said, "I'm not one for hugs."
"Oh c'mon, you hug Henry all the time." She whined.
"My God, okay."
Emma put her arm around Regina and the two shared a hug.
"Treasure the pirate alright? He's a keeper." Whispered Regina.
Emma nodded and pat her on the back.
"Say hi to the other two uncharmings for me."
"I will,"
Emma stepped back and nudged Killian forward.
Killian walked over and smirked at her.
"It was nice seeing you again, love."
"Don't ever call me that again,"
"Well, be safe out there, I still need someone who has some kind of a bite around."
"I don't live to please you,"
"That's the spirit."
The two of them shook hands and Killian stepped back to Emma's side.
Henry hugged Regina very tightly and she reciprocated the tightness.
"I love you mom, please come back soon."
"I love you my prince. You be good okay? Don't cause trouble for Emma."
Henry nodded and quickly went back Emma to suppress the urge to cry again.
The trio waved to Regina and her eyes watered as she raised her hand to wave and watched as their silhouettes faded.
She sighed as they entered the departure hall and Henry waved to her one last time.
As soon as their silhouettes were not visible, she quickly turned around and walked out of the airport.
Watching the three of them head home made her really appreciate home for a second, she dried her eyes in her car and powered up the engine.
On the plane, Henry was about to take out his book to read when a few pictures slipped out of his bag.
He picked it up and the broadest grin spread across his face, it was the picture of four of them in front of Universal Studios and the back wrote, "always in my heart, see you soon sweetheart. XOXO, mom." The other few pictures were of her in New York.
Emma opened her own bag to find a different photo and the Gryffindor scarf in her bag.
Killian took out his own picture and laughed, it was a picture of them on the Revenge of the Mummy ride.
"Did you get me the scarf Killian?"
Killian just smiled and shrugged,
"I thought it would look great on you."
She smiled and pecked him on the lips, Henry was too engrossed in looking at Killian's picture to make any snide comment.
Regina was driving out of Miami with her next destination in her mind, Dallas.
She turned on the radio while on the road and, Escape (The Piña Colada song) came on.
"If you like Piña coladas, and getting caught in the rain..."
She looked out of her window and took a last glimpse of the seemingly never ending row of palm trees before she was out on the freeway to Dallas.
A few hours later,
Henry, Emma and Hook (who now inserted his hook on haha) were home in the evening.
Hook said his goodbyes to the two before going back up to his rented room at an apartment complex.
"Alright kid, when we get back, no buts, take a shower and go to bed."
"But mom..."
"What did I just say about buts?"
"Fine," Henry groaned.
Emma unlocked the door and stepped into the apartment to find it empty except for Belle who was cooing baby Neal to sleep.
"Hello Emma, Henry."
"Hey Belle," they said simultaneously.
"Your parents are out, they should be home anytime now."
"Cool, I'm going to go and unpack and clean up," said Emma
"Alright, I'll be out here if you need me."
Emma nodded and ushered Henry towards the bathroom.
She helped Henry to frame the picture and left it on his desk before going to unpack her stuff.
One motel and over 10 hours later, Regina drove into Dallas and a equally as or if not an even more intense sun compared to Miami shone down through the car windows as she drove around in search of a decent looking hotel.
Posters of various country stars lining the shops as she drove down, and there was a prevalence of shops with cowboy hats and other stereotypical western get-goes in them.
Regina wagered that Dallas was a more laid back and down to earth city than anywhere else that she's been to so far.
She found a cosy looking hotel and she drove towards it. Grabbing her duffle bag, she walked towards the hotel. Crossing her fingers that it was vacant.
You know what to do. ;-)
