Epilogue

"No... no..." Owen murmured as he took a few steps back from the monitor. With haunted eyes he looked over to Harry. "Voyager... we never officially named a new Captain for her. You have to take command."

"What?" Harry asked as Owen nervously took two pips off his own collar before putting them on Harry's.

"Listen to me." Paris continued as he put his hands around Harry's shoulders. "I don't know what's going to happen but I can feel it in my bones that she is the key to all of this. I want you to take her, get off this planet, get to Voyager, and go somewhere that's safe. I'm going to transfer all command codes back to you." as he told him that he snatched Maddox's PADD out of his hands and started to madly type into it.

"But sir..."

"No but's!" Owen shouted as he handed Harry the PADD. "Now take her and get out of here. That's an order and your new mission."

Taking the PADD and head swimming, Harry watched as Seven of Nine stepped out of her alcove. Seeing that he took an involuntary step back, she slowly assured him.

"This drone will not harm you, Mr. Kim." Seven told him honestly before reminding him. "Where else do we have to go?"

Accepting that Harry still had the security detail come with him and as they headed towards the door, Owen called out to him one last time. "Captain Kim. Tell my son... tell my son that I love him."

As Harry nodded his head, he felt that that was the last time that he would see Owen. Giving the man a sad look, Harry, B'Elanna, Seven, and the security team ran out of the room.

Making it outside the group watched as virtual chaos started to ensue as people ran and screamed through the streets. Calling upon a transport shuttle they were picked up and headed to out of space. It was hard getting to Utopia Planitia, but luckily they had a decent pilot that more or less got them there in one piece.

Walking onto the bridge, with Seven in tow, he only saw Lyssa and Tom on the bridge. The latter sitting at Helm.

"Harry what the hell is going on?" Tom asked as Harry sat down at command.

"I'll have to tell you later." Harry replied as Tom looked past him and towards Seven. "Don't be alarmed just.. believe me, I have a lot to tell you later. Have Anhi or Isis made it yet?"

"No, but Bree, Neelix, Roman, and Dean did." Tom said, never taking his gaze off of the Borg drone. Honestly the last time he heard from Ahni she was visiting family on Earth and he really didn't know where Isis was at the moment. "What about, B'Elanna and Worf?"

"B'Elanna is in Engineering and Worf is still on DS9." Harry said, knowing that they couldn't afford to wait any longer. I'm sorry Tom. "We can't wait for them. We have a new mission."

"Which is?"

"We... we have to keep her safe." Harry said as he nodded towards Seven, making Tom's eyes go wide.

"But..."

"That was my last order from your father." Harry cut him off, making him be quiet. "He also wanted me to tell you that he loves you."

"Captain, I don't believe we have time to dawdle." Seven spoke up, not wanting to hear this mushy family stuff.

"She's right." Harry replied reluctantly with a sneer. "Tom we can't wait for the others, but hopefully they can meet up with us later. Clear us to be undocked and set a course out of the system."

"Aye, sir." Tom said as he turned around and did just that, hoping against hope that Harry was right. He couldn't explain it but something in the back of his mind told him that this was the end. As Voyager started to ride out of dry dock, Lyssa's console started to beep, just as Roman walked onto the bridge and went to Tactical.

"Some kind of fissure is opening, sir." Lyssa reported as she typed into her console. "And something massive is emerging out of it."

"On screen." Harry ordered.

A round metallic object suddenly came out of nowhere and stopped above Earth. Building up energy a yellow, flame-like beam was then emitted out of the middle of it and struck the ground in Florida, cutting a massive trench into the planet as it moved southwards into the ocean.

"Oh God!" Lyssa screamed.

"Take us in." Harry said angrily, even as other Starfleet vessels tried to fend off the attack and fire upon other bio-ships. "Roman fire weapons at that thing when we're in range."

As Voyager moved in to attack, three bio-ships came out of nowhere and started to fire on them. The enemies weapons burning through Voyager's shields, sent the ship tumbling.

"We're losing forward shields!" Roman roared as Voyager violently shook on the impact.

"Target what you believe are their propulsion systems!" Harry yelled back over the hiss of steam that rose up behind him. "We have to stop that weapon!"

"No effect." Roman reported.

"Your weapons will have no effect." Seven warned Harry. "We must get out of this system."

"I'm not going to leave those people to die!" Harry shouted back to her.

"Weapons are now offline." Roman said as he typed into his console to try to get them back even as Voyager rocked even harder. "Damn it." he mumbled to himself as he saw several Starfleet ships exploding on screen. This seemed worse then the battle of Wolf 359.

Before they could be fired upon again, a battle scarred Klingon vessel decloaked and took the brunt of an attack that was meant for them.

"That's Chakotay's ship, sir." Lyssa reported happily. "He's hailing us."

"Patch him through." Harry ordered as Chakotay's frowning face appeared on the main viewer.

"We heard about what was going on and we came to help but this old girl has had it." Chakotay said. They had given it all they had just to get into the system. "Permission to come aboard?"

"Roman, the moment we're in the clear drop the shields and beam them aboard."

"Aye, sir." Roman replied as he started beaming the Torres' crew aboard. As Roman beamed the final person aboard, a large bio-ship ran through Chakotay's ship destroying it on impact. "We got them sir."

"Captain!" Lyssa shouted out.

Everyone then stared in horror at the view-screen, as the species 8472 weapon blasted Earth into tiny pieces. Being far enough away from the explosion and because of the ships advanced Caretaker shielding, Voyager was spared but was still rocked by a violent shock-wave. It was a shame that Starfleet couldn't adapt that shielding to it's other ships, mostly because they couldn't find material like it, because Voyager now stood alone in space as all of the other Starfleet vessels around them were destroyed.

"No." Harry whispered, wanting desperately to throw up. Then he thought about all the people who had died. All of his friends and his family, before he looked around at the bridge crew and saw the same look of horror on their faces, even as Chakotay and B'Elanna walked onto the bridge.

Seeing the look of hopelessness in everyone's eyes and feeling that powerful shock-wave, Chakotay lowered his head because he knew that they had lost something big. Going over to Lyssa's station, it was confirmed as he saw that Earth was no longer there.

Looking to the screen Chakotay saw that once the bio-weapons energy was expended, the object fell apart and flew around as debris where Earth once stood. Mission accomplished, the bio-ships flew off into different directions in the Alpha Quadrant to destroy all life.

"We must get out of here." Seven of Nine reasoned, snapping Chakotay back to the present. Looking at her with wide accusing eyes, he took out his phaser.

"Damn you!" Chakotay shouted. "Are you responsible for this!?"

"Chakotay." B'Elanna said numbly as she put her hand on his. Looking deep into her eyes and her touch calming him, he lowered his weapon.

Seeing that no one was doing anything out of being in a state of shock, Seven walked past Chakotay and Lyssa and typed into the OPS console. "Species 8472's rift is still open and it leads back to the Delta Quadrant." Seven spoke up making several members of the crew look up at her. "Upon external scans, the rift opens about ten light years from Unimatrix Zero One. If anything is left of the Borg, we should go there and adapt it to Voyager."

"So what... you're trying to get us assimilated?" Roman asked.

"No." Seven replied as she turned her gaze to the young man. "A few more drones will do nothing against the might of that species. But from what the Borg assimilated over the years this drone knows that humanity has the ability to... overcome. If the Borg's transwarp hub is still operational it can always be used to come back to this quadrant of space."

"So what are we going to do, Harry?" B'Elanna asked as she looked to the back of her boyfriend's head. "Are we going to stay here and wait for Captain Picard or do what she suggested?"

It took a minute for Harry to answer her because at the moment he had closed off the world around him. Anger seeping into his heart, his gripped the sides of his chair so hard that his knuckles turned white. They had just lost their heritage, their pride, family, friends. Everything that made them human, they had lost within the blink of an eye. It wouldn't matter if they waited on the Enterprise because one more ship wouldn't really make a difference with those things. At least not yet.

Staring through Captain Janeway, as she stood before him, Harry locked eyes with Tom and he saw the same look in his brother in arms eyes. It was a mix of sadness and hatred at what had happened and all of the loved ones they had lost. It was already enough that they had lost people in the battle of Wolf 359 and the few they had lost fighting the Dominion but now this. Something had to be done. It was time they knocked on the devils door and believe me they were going to knock back hard.

"Tom." Harry spoke up, his voice coming out hoarse. "Take us into darkness."

With that said, Voyager turned around and with a final thrust it flew through the rift, back to the Delta Quadrant and into the jaws of what was left of the Borg.

A/N I've decided to stop the story here and I really hope you've enjoyed this story. I might return to this story again one day, but for now this is it.
