The morning glow slipped past the shutters, bathing the room a serene golden hue. From under the covers, a delicate hand pulled at the white sheets, mumbling a little as she rolled to her side, the sunlight dancing over her face. Pink hair awry, eyes still squinting from sleep, she glanced at the source of the light, before grumbling and pushing herself to stand. She stumbled over to the window, pushing it open enough so a gentle breeze could flow, before drawing the curtain, and returning to sit at the side of the bed. A hand drifted to the swell of new pregnancy that peeked from beneath the loose t-shirt, thumb drawing gentle circles, as she tutted, a smile dancing across her lips.

" If it is not the light, aka-chan, it is you waking me."

" Annoying. Must take after his mother."

Sakura rolled her eyes, reaching over to swat at the other figure in the bed, receiving a gentle chuckle for her efforts, as her husband turned to face her, stretching with a yawn.

" A child is half and half when it comes to genetics. I feel it is your stubborn nature that is causing the problems, Sasuke-kun."

She ran her fingers through the dark hair on the pillow, before a hand twisted with hers, pulling her back underneath the covers. A soft giggle escaped her, as an arm moved to wrap around her waist, skin meeting skin as he pulled her back against his chest, a hand settling over her own on her bump. Soft lips traced her shoulder blade, the ends of his hair tickling the back of her neck.

" Stubborn? Myself? Hn. Is it such a terrible trait?"

" Well...I never said quite that."

He chuckled again, giving her hand a soft squeeze. She rolled over in his arms, wriggling closer, nudging her nose against his chest. In response, he planted a kiss on her forehead, sighing contently as one hand stroked her back. This was what Sakura loved the most; the quiet, private mornings, filled with a delicate intimacy that made her heart sing. In her younger years, Sasuke's almost mute tendencies had often driven her to despair, but now, she found the most peace enveloped in his arms, soft touches and kisses replacing needless chatter. Her fingers ran through the scattering of dark hair on his chest as she mused, before looking up and nudging his chin gently, the scratch of a 5 o'clock shadow that had escaped the razor tickling her skin.

" How are you so sure this is a boy, eh?"

" Because I am always correct."

" Tch. I don't believe that."

" No?"

She leant back enough so she could see his face, raising an eyebrow with a skeptical smirk plastered across her own, green eyes almost goading him to argue. He snorted lightly, before rolling his eyes, nuzzling back into her. She grinned, awarding herself a small victory, before pulling the covers up around her shoulders.

" And what if you are wrong, Sasuke-kun? What if Tsunade-sama hands you a little pink bundle instead?"

" Male heirs don't come in pink."

She gave him a light-hearted punch, the rumble of laughter in his chest making her smile, as she lay her head against him.

" I was being serious! Baka."

The room fell quiet once more, save for the usual noise as the rest of the village began their day, the mix of chatter and business beginning. It was another beautiful morning, and both she and Sasuke were off duty for the day. Sakura shifted as the baby wriggled, smiling as Sasuke moved his hand to cup her bump, his own soft smile appearing as the baby kicked once more.

" Hn. Not one for sleeping or letting other enjoy their peace. How very annoying. Must take after her mother after all."
