note: ONE OF THE MANY LITTLE THINGS I COULDN'T HELP BUT TO WRITE. SASUSAKU TALKING ABOUT THEIR LITTLE DAUGHTER AND CAKSHKHGLKH THEIR FAMILY I JUST HAVE SO MANY FEELS. MY OTP IS CANON I JUST

IT'S FUCKING CANON.

"How was your trip?"

Sasuke turns at the sound of her voice, blinking in surprise, before his eyes soften as he acknowledges his wife's presence. She tries not to smile too wide when he pushes himself off the doorframe and joins her side, his one hand finding her waist while his lips find her temple.

"Not bad," he murmurs, winding his arm around her back. He turns to look at their daughter training in their backyard, features soft and completely at peace. "A little long."

She doesn't try to hold back the strength of her smile, this time, because although quiet and reserved, her husband can be quite the emotional sap in his own way. He's happy, she thinks, feeling herself glow with pride and love, and everything that is good. Pulling away from him, Sakura seeks his hand and slips her fingers through his, squeezing tightly.

"Yeah," she says, standing on the tip of her toes to kiss the side of his mouth. "We missed you, too."

Sasuke looks at her quietly, for a good moment, beautiful black eyes searching into hers, and she feels her heart swell. Then, he leans his forehead against hers in a fond, intimate gesture, closing his eyes. She can't help but to do the same, squeezing his hand tighter.

"She missed you a lot, you know," she murmurs after a while, brushing her thumb along the side of his rough hand. "Sara-chan can't stop talking about you. Always asking when you're gonna be back, and what you're going to teach her next." She laughs a little, then, and the love in her heart feels almost painful. "I swear, Sasuke, she's going to be better than the both of us when she grows up. That girl is so damn smart and talented, I can't believe it sometimes."

She feels her husband pull away, and opens her eyes to watch him, feeling a smile pull at her lips at the sight of his proud smirk.

"Hm. Of course she is," he replies, slipping his hand out of hers. He raises it to her forehead, pressing two fingers to her diamond. "She's an Uchiha." He pauses here, just to tease her. A true smile plays at his lips when she pouts, just a little. "…And a Haruno."

The pretty flush returns to her cheeks, and he thumbs one of them gently. She doesn't mind when he pulls away and slips his hand into his pocket, turning on his side to look at Sarada practicing her Katon all but fifteen feet away. Sakura settles to his side, and touches the stump of his arm gently, kissing his shoulder. Sasuke exhales contently.

"She's good," he comments, as Sarada pulls off a full Katon. "Quick learner."

"Wonder where she got that from," She quips, throwing her husband a teasing glance.

He makes something like an amused scoff, before he says softly, "Both of us."

She smiles. There is a silence.

Then, "Hey, do you think she'd learn how to be a sister pretty quick?"

The speed at which Sasuke stiffens and looks down at her stomach, with wide eyes and a slackened jaw, is enough to have her bursting into the most joyous laughter. Sakura isn't surprised when she feels him slip his only arm around her, holding her tight, while he buries his face in her neck.

"How long have you known?"

"I just found out this morning."

She can feel his grin.

I'm still reeling over the shock of my OTP being fucking CANON AND HAVING A DAUGHTER GOD DAMN IM CRYING AGAIN.
