Chapter 16

Liz sighed looking at the clock counting down the minutes that past since she was detained in the holding room or as she now decided to call it her cell. She looked at the door and whispered to herself so no one who was watching her on camera could hear "Why is this taking so long, there's got to be worst situations going on in the criminal world then me and Red."

Liz tired to focus on her breathing; she was starting to get uncomfortable. She really wasn't claustrophobic... and yet she was at the same time. She had been since she was very young; when she got locked in a closet by her classmates for no good reason other than she was doing better in class then the other students, and was on a higher level than them. She got tired of this and yelled out to the guards watching her "Can you please get me out of here!"

Finally she got a reply; the door slowly opened and in walked Aram. Aram smiled at her "Really good to see you Mrs. Keen."

Liz smiled and stood up and tried to walk over but remembered that she was chained at the desk and chair around the ankles and hands "Good to see you also Aram, I would greet you but I'm chained to the desk."

Aram laughed and walked over and pulled her close into a hug "Well I'll just come over and do it myself."

Liz smiled and sat back down, Aram pulling a chair also close to Liz. Liz smiled at this and said to her friend and close work mate "So tell me, has anything interesting happened when I was gone?"

Aram smirked "Nothing really, you and Red are what makes our lives interesting...we mostly focused on getting you and Red back...mostly you."

Liz sighed and looked down at her feet "Of course it would be us...Ressler probably wouldn't give up his Reddington hunt."

Aram touched Liz's hand causing her to snap her head back up "I believed you; you wouldn't go up and betray the agency without a good reason and I know that Mr. Reddington wouldn't take you away without at good reason."

Liz smiled and kissed Aram quickly on the cheek "Thank you Aram, I know you and Navabi would be the ones to believe me."

Aram blushed and looked down "You're my friend and I trust you, and I knew that you would never do anything that wasn't for a good reason."

"So how are you and Navabi doing?"

Aram kept looking down "Are relationship is going slow but we both know that we have feelings for each other...we just need to make the first step in the right direction."

"I'm happy for both of you...you two are perfect for each other."

"But like I said before Liz we would never abandon you, we are all a team and we trust each other...It's just going to take a while for Ressler to get aboard trusting you again."

Liz nodded and sighed, here we go again. It took forever for them to build a trust as a team, a partnership "I figured that, so Aram you got any idea when they're going to release me and Red."

Aram shook his head and Liz started to breathe heavy and hyperventilate "I can't breathe...the walls..."

Aram came over and put a arm around her and rubbed her back "Take deep breaths in an out, you can breathe, think about somewhere else...I don't know when..."

The door swung open and a guard nodded to Aram to come out. Aram smiled at Liz and the guard whispered to Aram and handed him a key. Liz breathed normal, air coming easily to her now.

Aram walked over to Liz "Give me your hands."

Liz nodded and said "I'm free to go then?"

Aram laughed and unlocked her cuffs on her hands and then bent down to get her feet chains "You sure are, the stories matched perfectly and the lie detector test did the rest...for once Mr. Reddington didn't try to avoid the questions, he really must want to be with you again...," he saw Liz blush and look down and then stuttered out, "I-I-I mean that is n-n-none of my business..."

"Think nothing of it; just keep it private what you have learned."

Aram said "Of course Liz."

"Now take me to Red."

"Of course, but the think is your suspended for a week...but I guess you're OK with this. You look like you still need time off, after the experience you've been through, I Red hadn't dealt with Berlin I would have...never mind you're safe. With your time off you can be with Red, he'll probably be moving you to a new place to live."

Liz blushed and smiled at what Aram said and the part about Red "You know us well."

Aram stuttered again being his sort of shy self "Well I-I-I..."

"Don't worry Red likes you and will thank you for protecting and standing up for me...and for calming me down after my little hyperventilation episode."

Aram laughed nervously "This way Liz."

Liz took his arm as they made their way to Red; things were looking up for Red and Lizzie. But deep inside Liz's mind she thought for how long this safetly will last for them. Knowing that Red had many enemies and they would get to him through her, and Liz didn't want to think about what Red would do to get to her, he once said he would watch the world burn and destroy itself to keep her safe and with him.
