2007
I opened my eyes and smiled at the small, cheering crowd consisting of young children, teens, and adult 'collectors'. My brothers and I had just finished performing our signature song, "The Weekend Whip", for the fiftieth time today. Not that I minded of course.
"Okay, everybody! We're going to take a five minute break," Cole's voice boomed to the crowd gathered around the stage. "Then we're going to sing happy birthday to the birthday boy!"
With that said, the four of us departed from the stage and dispersed throughout the restaurant. Kai and Zane were immediately greeted by several fanboys and fangirls, all of them begging the two to sign their official Ninjago's pizzeria merchandise.
As I walked past Cole, I noticed that he was greeted by a young girl who requested him to sing a song she had written. He smiled softly and took the song sheet from her little hands and read over the lyrics. Looking over his shoulder, my eyes had widened in disbelief as I read some of the words. Let's just say they were dark. Very dark. Cole turned around and mouthed to me, 'What do I do?'
"Sorry buddy, that's your problem," I replied softly and patted his shoulder. "Good luck!"
Leaving Cole to deal with the little girl, I decided it was time to greet the birthday boy. I approached the 'birthday throne' and saw a little boy around the age of eight or nine sitting in the throne with a plastic crown on his head and an unhappy glare on his face.
"Happy birthday, Johnny!" I cried happily.
"I hate this place," He whispered. "With a passion."
"I'm sure you do champ!" I laughed and patted him on the head. Johnny then glared at me before snapping his jaws at me.
Oh! So, he's one of those kids...
Walking away from the birthday boy, I then approached the newest addition to the team: Nya.
"Hey, Nya!" I greeted.
"Hey, Jay!" She smiled while holding a toddler in her arms, who was currently busy gnawing on the her ear.
"Uh, you're just gonna let him do that?" I ask.
"Oh, yeah! It's not like it's staring to hurt or anything," Nya giggled strangely. "Or that the saliva is slowly leaking into my systems and may cause damage."
It soon occurred to me that the parent of the toddler was standing next to Nya, smiling as her son chewed on Nya's ear.
"H-Hey?! You smell that? I think he's had an accident!" I exclaimed.
"What?!" The mother cried and quickly took her son from Nya's arms, rushing to the nearest changing room.
"Thanks, Jay," Nya hugged me quickly. "I owe you one!"
"No problem!" I reply. "I have to ask you though, is it weird being here?"
"No, not really. Why do you ask?"
"I don't know. I guess cause they finally finished building you like a month ago," I respond. "I know when the first restaurant opened and they put us four out, I felt weird performing. Like, it was unnatural to me."
"Hmm... I don't know," Nya says. "Maybe it's because you were brand new at the time. Mr. Wu told me that even though my physical body is new, my A.I. was created around fourteen years ago. So maybe that's why."
"Yeah, I guess..."
"Jay, get over here!" Cole shouted. "We're about to sing happy birthday!"
"Coming!" I shout and turn back to Nya. "Well, uh, gotta go!"
I jumped on to the stage and grabbed my guitar. I turned to my brothers and smiled brightly.
"Alright everybody!" Cole shouted happily. "This goes to a special little kid named Johnny."
Johnny glared in reply.
Several little kids gathered around the stage, only to get pushed back by some rather aggressive older fans.
With a nod of his head, Cole signaled for us to start.
In unison, all four of us began.
"Happy-"
Suddenly the lights went out.
The room was filled with blackness and the unnecessary screams of almost everyone except for us.
Our animatronic eyes became the only source of light in the room as more and more patrons fell to the panic.
"Hey! Why don't you guys stop screaming? Unless you want the killer to find you!" Kai shouted through the screams.
"Kai!" Cole scolded.
"Hey, look it worked!" Kai replied in the sudden silence.
Cole then turned to me.
"Jay, go check it out."
"Okay!" I replied and jumped off the stage, squeezing my way through the crowd.
As I searched for source of the blackout, the lights suddenly came back on. My eyes flickered as my vision adjusted to the light. Then I saw him.
Him.
The Gray Man.
I wasn't quite sure who he really was, but what I did know was that whenever something went wrong at the restaurant, he was the source.
As I approached him, I saw that he was standing over Nya, hurting her.
He was ripping her apart!
I couldn't stand for it!
I wouldn't!
I know this man has done something horrible to me, to all of us.
He must pay.
I pulled a sword off of my back and gripped it tightly in my right hand.
Charging forward, the wolf within me let out a roar of anger.
He turned to face me as his eyes widened in surprise.
I leapt forward and then-
Shlkk!
The gray man lay dead at my feet, blood pouring out of his head.
Then my vision faded and returned. It then occurred to me that this was not the gray man, but a security guard. And Nya was surrounded by several children with small pieces of her fur in their hands. The children all screamed and ran away from me, leaving me alone in front of Nya. The story quickly clicked in my mind as I realized what had just occurred. I dropped my sword to the ground as I realized I just made a grave mistake. I just killed the security guard in front of everyone!
"J-Jay," Nya muttered. "What have you done?"
"I-I-I-I-I-I don't know!" I cried. "I-I-I didn't mean to! I swear!"
"H-He's dead!" Nya cried.
I took a few steps towards her, put stopped when Nya backed away.
"I-I didn't mean to! You gotta believe me," I pleaded with her. "T-There's something wrong with me! I saw him!"
"Who?"
"T-They Gray man! H-He was here. He was hurting you! T-There was a blackout and-"
"W-What are you talking about?! You-You just jumped off the stage in the middle of a performance and came here!" She cried before her eyes widened. "Oh no. Cole, NO!"
I turned around and let out a gasp at what I saw. In front of me was the towering figure of Cole, carrying his golden scythe.
"Wait! Cole, p-please!" I begged. "I didn't mean to, I swear!"
Cole shook his head and continued to advance towards me.
"I'm sorry, Jay, but this is for everyone's safety..." Cole muttered softly and looked towards Mr. Wu, who had now appeared at the scene.
"Sensei?" Cole asked softly.
The old man sadly nodded his head in response.
I fidgeted nervously as Cole came closer, his scythe drawing nearer.
I looked towards my friends, begging for support.
"Zane?"
The purple bunny ignored me and looked to the floor.
"Kai?"
Kai, like Zane, ignored my plea, and glanced around the building nervously.
"Nya?"
Nya's eyes closed softly just before she turned her back on me.
"S-Sensei?"
"...Do it..." Mr. Wu sighed sadly.
Then, at that moment, I knew I was all alone.
I knew that the moment that Cole had gotten me with his scythe, I was dead.
My instincts would not let that happen.
"Cole please!" I shouted as Cole hit me with his scythe, the large blade burying deeply into my waist. Cole then grabbed my throat with his free hand and pointed my face to look at him.
I let out a scream of pain and struggled to escape Cole's death grip, but it was no use.
It wasn't fair. Cole was much bigger and stronger then I was.
"I-I'm sorry buddy..." Cole muttered.
Then, with both of his hands, the bear reached into my mouth and grabbed hold of my endoskeleton. In an excruciatingly slow and painful process, Cole remove my endoskeleton from my body through my mouth.
When they threw me in that back room, they thought I was dead.
I thought I was dead.
For years I sat in that back room, a forgotten memory. Or rather, a nightmare. Watching as the days and nights and years went on. In that time, I waited. Waited for my chance at redemption. And at revenge. I gathered energy over the years, waiting for the right person to help me. It was hard to move while being nothing but an empty suit. But with a body inside of me, I could become truly mobile again. Eventually, a new night guard came in. He was exactly what I needed. This guard showed determination. something I didn't usually see with the other guards. So instead of being selfish and killing him for myself, I saved him from the Overlord, knowing that I could always use him again. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to work out as we closed a day after. I sat alone again in that back room. Until a new face came through the door.
It was a well dressed man in a wheel chair with thick glasses and black hair. He wore a grey business suit with a black tie. He smiled at me before introducing himself.
"Hello, Jay. I'm not quite sure if you can hear me, but I'm going to talk anyway."
I sat in silence.
"My name is Cyrus Borg and I am now in charge of fixing up you and your friends," He whispered softly. "I know what happened. Everything. The incident from seven years ago and the thing from yesterday..."
He paused for a moment before speaking again.
"You see, we're opening up a new restaurant. This one will be much bigger and your friends will be upgraded. So, why not you?"
I like where this is going...
"Unfortunately, given the severity of that incident from a few years ago, I'm afraid making you an active an animatronic again will not benefit the company."
Damn it!
"However, that's not to say a suit can't be used," Cyrus continued. "I have an idea of a mix between suit and animatronic that you may like. It will use spring locks to allow the wearer to climb in and out of the suit with ease, allowing full mobility. So, what do you think?"
Cyrus' calm face soon twisted in shock and fear as I lifted my hand to shake.
"Deal..." I whispered.
Hey guys! I'm so, so, SO sorry about the really long wait for Five Nights at Ninjago's 2. I had really wanted to post it around April, but as I said in my "Important Update," there have been a lot issues with my computer. There were so many viruses and crap on it that I just ending up getting a new one. Anyway, as I said before, Five Nights at Ninjago's 2 will be a prequel so that means the nightguard will be a new character. I still think you guys will like it though. Here's what I plan to do for this series:
Five Nights at Ninjago's 2: Coming soon! PREQUEL.
Five Nights at Ninjago's (3) Grand Finale: This is the one you guys are waiting for. Jay and all the animatronics from this story will be in it. It will also have a ton of new characters. Yes, it will have character deaths and will be very dark. SEQUEL.
Five Nights at Ninjago's Fright: This is the last story and will probably be the darkest.
Another thing that I promised in my important update was that "After the Blackout" would be finished before this was posted. This is, it WAS finished. I had the chapter all ready to go and then, I accidently deleted it. I really don't know how or why that happened and I am so upset about it. So I'm going to rewrite the final chapter for that story before I publish Five Nights at Ninjago's 2. Okay?
Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who supports this story. As this is being written, I currently have 38 favorites and over 100 reviews. That's awesome! But not as awesome as you guys! Thank you so much for your support.
Thanks for reading and please review! :D
