Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc continues, in which the space shuttle is slated to make a crash landing, in which Naegi and his friends are now on the move to intercept and try to veer the shuttle to a different location to avert a potential disaster…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

At the entrance of the main building, Jin and Kizakura are instructing the students not to run and shove while boarding the bus that would lead them out of Tokyo, but then the two adults were surprised to see Naegi, Maizono, Kyoko and Yashiro running in panic, and Kizakura adjusted his hat seeing the four teens running like scared kids who just saw a ghost.

Jin sighed and said that there are some people believing that ghosts exists and this in turn cause people to get scared just because of hearing such rumors, which the headmaster said he would consider in finding out who spread such baseless rumors and consider penalizing whoever started the rumor in the first place.

Kizakura smirked and advised Jin to let it go for now since nothing bad happened and that there is no proof that such a rumor exists and this would add more to the students' adventurism, which Jin said it is not a healthy advice.

"No, Kizakura. I wouldn't recommend that."

"Huh?"

"It'd be better if the rumor dies down and that would put a stop to that nonsense."

"Really, Jin?"

"Yes."

"Sometimes a little adventure is…"

"No means no."

"Oh dear…you're too old-fashioned, Jin."

Jin and Kizakura argued a bit, but nevertheless the two adults continue to assist in evacuating the students of Hope's Peak Academy and ensure that all students are accounted for, and from there the students will be taken away from Tokyo to a safe area while awaiting the moment the space shuttle makes an emergency landing.

At the parking lot, Kyoko boarded her personal car while Naegi and Maizono boarded along. The three teens were shaken after seeing Hanako-kun the ghost, and there the SHSL Detective vowed never to go to that bathroom again as she doesn't want to see Hanako again after the antics he made, and she vowed never to believe in ghosts anymore.

Naegi hesitantly reminded her that she was possessed by a ghost a few months ago, though Kirigiri did not want to be reminded of that, and told him to drop it, but Naegi said that seeing Hanako at the girls' toilet confirms that ghosts do exists, but she freaked out and told Naegi not to bring any topic regarding ghosts.

"Naegi-kun!"

"Whoa!"

"No more talk about ghosts!"

"Uh…"

"You hear me? No more about ghosts!"

"But…Kirigiri-san…"

"I said no more talk about ghosts!"

"Geez…"

Maizono sweat-dropped at seeing her two classmates argue, and there she reminded them about the space shuttle possibly about to crash-land in Tokyo, and this prompted the two to stop their bickering, and there Kirigiri started the car and the trio teens drive off, intending to find the fastest route to head off to so that they can establish contact with the three aliens and figure out how to approach the space shuttle and veer it away from the city.

Believe It Or Not by Joey Scarbury
(Opening Song from The Greatest American Hero)

Look at what's happened to me,
I can't believe it myself;
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,
Should've been somebody else.

Believe it or not,
I'm walkin' on air,
I never thought I could feel so free;
Flyin' away on a wing and a pray'r,
Who could it be?
Believe it or not, it's just me.

Just like the light of new day,
It hit me from out of the blue;
Breakin' me out of the spell I was in,
Makin' all of my wishes come true.

Believe it or not,
I'm walkin' on air,
I never thought I could feel so free;
Flyin' away on a wing and a pray'r,
Who could it be?
Believe it or not, it's just me.

Ch. 115: Shatoru e no rēsu

At NASA, the NASA officials are seen scrambling about as they are fighting against time as the space shuttle appeared to be have entered Earth's atmosphere, and the NASA officials continued to attempt in contacting the shuttle's passengers for the past hours, to no avail, and it shows that no one inside the shuttle is answering, and the officials are determining what course of action would they take if this situation keeps up.

Up until now the NASA officials continued their attempts to contact the astronauts but up until now there has been no answer at this time, and the officials are worried about this, and are prepared to assume that something bad may have happened inside the shuttle.

"Still no answer…?"

"No answer."

"Keep trying."

"I've been doing that for the past several minutes…"

"Then keep trying until…"

"What do you think I'm doing?"

"Watch your tone…"

"You watch your tone…"

The head of NASA watched the entire scene and asked the officials if they have established contact with the astronauts, seeing that there has been no progress yet, and the officials are forced to tell the NASA head that there has been no answer from the astronauts, and that the shuttle's continued to descend to Earth, and one of the officials reluctantly raised the possibility that either the communications at the shuttle has been damaged, or the astronauts can be assumed to be dead.

The NASA head raised an eyebrow at hearing those possibility and asked the official if he is sure about this, which the official said that he is basing it on what they managed to figure out so far.

"So you're saying that there is a possibility that the astronauts are dead?"

"Well, sir…that's"

"Don't just jump to conclusions."

"But…we've been trying to contact them up until now, and because…"

"Keep trying. Don't stop."

"We're doing so, sir."

"Do not give up until the end…"

"…"

At outer space, the scene shows that the UFO that houses the three aliens have overheard what the NASA officials are saying, and Ophani became concerned at what would happen if the shuttle crash lands there and cause serious harm towards the Earthlings, as it is projected to crash land at Tokyo, though Cherubi is just silent as he wondered what are the chances of averting possible deaths and injuries given the speed of the shuttle's descent.

Seraphi then instructs Cherubi to activate the radio and said he will contact Naegi and inform him of the situation, which Cerubi, watches on as Ophani, in a surprisingly concerned tone, asked what is he is planning this time, which the leader said he will tell them once he contacts Naegi, and gently tells her to begin the communications, which Ophani reluctantly nodded.

"Have you prepare the communications?"

"Yes."

"Good."

"…"

"Be ready."

"Seraphi…"

"I will give the order."

"Yes, sir."

The scene shifts at the exit border of Tokyo, where Kirigiri redirects the car and went to a different route that is free from police prying eyes, and there she stopped the car at a secluded place, and waited for the chance where the aliens would contact Naegi.

Soon the smartphone began to make static sounds and Naegi went closer as he attempts to receive the call, and there Seraphi's voice spoke where he tells the trio teens that he will attempt to try change the shuttle's descending trajectory, and said that he will not risk having Naegi use the RED SUIT to fly into outer space as he is uncertain if the suit would protect Naegi from the effects of outer space.

Naegi asked Seraphi how would he avert the shuttle's trajectory, in which the alien said he would fire a beam that would alter the shuttle's course and will calculate which direction would the shuttle head to in order to avoid falling onto Tokyo.

"…and that is what we are intending to do. Makoto Naegi…be ready."

"But…if that's so, how would we be able to…"

"You will soon know when you'll take your course of action."

"Eh?"

"Be ready."

"Wait…"

"…"

"Hello…?"

At outer space, the UFO is seen showing out what appeared to be a nozzle, and fired an unspecified beam and struck the shuttle, which did not do anything that can sustain damage, but it altered the shuttle's descent and veered considerably, and after making some calculations, Cherubi told Seraphi that the shuttle will now head and descend onto Mt. Bandai.

There Seraphi told Naegi about the latest development, and as Naegi listened, Kirigiri began driving as she realized that there is a chance that Naegi might catch the falling shuttle but said there's the risk as there are several towns there and tells Naegi to brace himself as she would try to get to Mt. Bandai as fast as she possibly could.

"Hold tight, Naegi-kun…"

"Huh?"

"We're heading to Mt. Bandai."

"Right away…?"

"Yes."

"But…how long would we…"

"We have time, so sit back and brace yourself…"

"Whoa!"

Kirigiri said that getting to Mt. Bandai from Tokyo would take over an hour, and there Naegi asked Seraphi how long will the falling shuttle reach Mt. Bandai as he is worried that he might not reach the area in time, which Seraphi said to Naegi that he will get there in time.

Kirigiri drove off and took the fastest route in order to save time and head to Mt. Bandai in order to beat time and get there first so that Naegi would have time to make preparations to stop the shuttle from crashing hard and cause possible damage to life and property, while Maizono asked Kirigiri if she is not worried about attracting policemen should they find the car they are riding is exceeding the maximum speed limit.

The SHSL Detective tells Maizono she is free to get off, which the SHSL Idol said she is not getting off, which Kirigiri told her to stop complaining and sit back, which Maizono complained that she is just asking and that Kirigiri shouldn't act too grouchy.

"If you want to complain, then get off."

"Hey, I'm not!"

"…"

"I was just asking!"

"You were complaining…"

"Are you acting like a grouch?"

"What was that…?"

"You heard me!"

At outer space, the three aliens listened as Naegi managed to stop Kirigiri and Maizono from bickering, and Cherubi face-palmed as he wondered why the two girls had to be involved in this, but Ophani told him not to take it seriously as what is important now is that Naegi is on the way to the site where the shuttle would land, and Kirigiri is providing the means to get there ahead of time.

Cherubi said that he has no problem, but stated that Naegi should choose his allies well as he felt that the two girls might only get in the way of Naegi's mission, which Ophani assured that this is not the case and sees Kirigiri and Maizono as Naegi's closest allies.

"Now, now, Cherubi…you don't have to…"

"I'm starting to wonder if that boy is using his head in choosing his comrades…"

"He has."

"Really? You just heard it…those two Earth females are bickering like children…"

"It's natural for Earthlings…"

"Whatever."

"Let's calm down and wait for the next move…"

"…"

At NASA, the NASA officials are seen scrambling about as they are baffled at what just happened as the shuttle is seen via the radar that something hit the descending shuttle and started to veer to a different direction, and forecasted that the shuttle might land at either Nigata or Mt. Bandai, which is still in the area of Japan.

The NASA head asked the technicians how did this happened as the shuttle could not just shift its direction all of the sudden, and the officials said they have no idea why, maintaining that they are clueless about this, but said that if there is any consolation, it averted a possible damage that is slated to land at Tokyo, but now the shuttle would land at an area with very few residents there.

The NASA head then asked if there are any progress in contacting the astronauts, and the officials said there has been no response up to now.

"Still no answer…?"

"No answer."

"Keep trying."

"I've been doing that for the past several minutes…"

"Then keep trying until…"

"We're doing it, sir"

"Don't give up…"

"…"

To Be Continued...
