AN: My entry for the "Terror souls" event. Hope you enjoy!

The first disappearance was hardly noticed.

A sorcerer of sorts had gone missing in the night, a common occurence as most of the settlers were undead and subject to hollowing. And the Brotherhood of Blood tended to mark their kills to strike fear into other possible victims so that was out of the question. It was chalked up to insanity by hollowing and was left at that.

The second disappearance became more of an issue.

This time it was the settlement's Cleric. A slender young man who was very talented in healing miracles, you can see why this would be an issue as the small amount of guards the settlement had usually came back with wounds that needed mending and now there was no one to do so. The Blue Sentinels were contacted and informed of the situation, the Sentinels ordered a few of their younger swordsman to provide assistance to the guard and one of their Clerics were sent as a temporary replacement. No evidence could be found to link the Brotherhood to the attack.

The third disappearance struck fear into their hearts.

A child, no older than the age of three, was gone without a trace. The Sentinels claimed that not a single soul came into the settlement that night and no screams were heard. And once more, no evidence could be found that could trace the attacks to the brotherhood. More guards were sent, and a curfew was set in place by the Sentinels.

It did not save them.

The fourth, and last disappearance, caused an uproar.

Apparently, a man was wondering the settlement at night and saw something absolutely horrific. A man was being dragged from his home by what seemed to be a small group of hollows. This could be considered a normal occurence earlier but with the guards in place it made no sense.

Until he saw where they were dragging him to.

The pit. That wretched portal to hell that had been dug in the center of town to be used as a disposal. A place to dump rubble, garbage, things of little value.

And the bodies.

That morning, Majula was abandoned. Not a single soul dared stay any longer from the overwhelming fear of joining their dead. The Sentinels left and the town filtered out. Everyone was gone...

"...Except for me, of course." Saulden finished telling his recount of events that led to Majula's state of disrepair. The undead that was listening had asked him what he knew of The Pit and Saulden told him of his knowledge.

He could assume that the undead was regretting that decision now.
