A/N: Thank you all so much for reading & reviewing! Your reviews mean so much to me, and I constantly read them over and over again. Even though it's been awhile since I updated, I still plan on giving you two chapters before the season premiere. I know I've changed a lot from the actual show, but I'm trying not to stray too far away because I have no idea what's going to happen in season 7. Anywho, I hope you enjoy this chapter =)

"Wait a minute. Enzo helped you with your transition?" Bonnie had to stop mid run just to make sure she heard Matt correctly. Well, that was the excuse she was going to use to stop, because they were already on mile three and she was about to die trying to push through the burn.

"Yeah," He laughed, clearly making fun of the shocked expression on her face.

"Enzo, Enzo? The one who has a hard on for Damon and an orgasm every time he tries to make Stefan's life utter hell? No purpose Enzo?"

"That would be the one." He answered, as Bonnie put her leg on top of his shoulder to stretch.

"You know if Damon were to see you doing this, he'd probably kill me before I get to enjoy all that being a vampire entails."

"No, he would at least torture you first, Matt." She switched legs. "Just because you're a vampire now, doesn't mean you should sell yourself short."

"Comforting." He deadpanned, but the smile came shortly after.

"Now, back to you. We were all wondering how you turned, but we figured we'd wait until you told one of us."

"Yeah, Elena and Caroline gave me a few viles of blood awhile ago, and I would pour a sip in my drink every day, just in case something like this happened." He confessed. "We all knew my luck, and then after Kai's attack, I woke up at Enzo's. Apparently, he was coming to the boardinghouse for something and saw me laying there. He figured with all the shit he put me through he could at least help me out. And if you can believe it, he didn't want you to be upset or anything; something about you talking to him over Christmas, I don't know, but he gave me human blood for my transition and that was that."

Bonnie then removed her leg from Matt's and began stretching her upper half. She actually couldn't believe that Enzo truly listened to her that night. Yeah, she told him about himself, but he's been alive for what? Hundreds of years. She figured he'd just forget.

"Well, whatever the case was, I'm glad he was there for you. I'm glad you're okay and alive."

"Me too actually." He confessed. "I mean, being a vampire wasn't my life goal, but at the end of the day, I'm addicted to you supernatural freaks and with the way my life and death card is set up, something would have eventually happened anyways. Just good thing I was prepared."

Bonnie laughed and jumped on his back. "Welp, welcome to the supernatural freak club. We meet every Tuesday, and on Wednesday's we wear pink." She joked, mimicking one of her favorite movies.

As they continued to walk (well for Bonnie, more like rest on Matt's back) through the city of New Orleans, Matt's voice entered her ears.

"I can't believe we're here. And not that I've never wanted to visit New Orleans, because I have, but actually here, staying with the originals for a few days. How odd is that?"

"Very odd." Bonnie admitted. "I was skeptical about this, but Lucy swears they'll stay on their best behavior and since whatever was keeping me away the last time Damon and I were about to come here, is gone, I'm hoping everything will be fine."

She didn't trust the originals as far as she could throw them (without her magic of course). She didn't care that they were just trying to live their lives now without all the death and destruction. She still viewed Klaus and his siblings as loose cannons who would stab them in the back if necessary.

But, she trusted her cousin, and knew that if anything popped off, they'd both be able to take care of it.

"And the fact that Klaus has a kid." Matt's voice broke her out of her thoughts. "I feel like I've died and entered the twilight zone."

Yeah, that was very crazy. When they arrived in New Orleans last night, not only had Klaus been out of character and welcoming, they all found out he had a child with Hayley and had another sister, Freya, who was a witch. So much had gone on since they had seen them last.

Right before Bonnie could say anything, her phone went off.

"Damon again?"

She mildly shoved him, and then maneuvered to get her cell phone out of her pocket without falling off Matt's back. During their run, she would stop every so often to send Damon a text message. He and Stefan were spending the whole day brotherly bonding, so they probably wouldn't see each other until later.

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ALL JUST LEFT ME ALONE HERE! GET BACK NOW! -C

"Nope it's Caroline. And she's pissed."

"Well, we tried to wake her up. You know how she gets when we interrupt her beauty sleep."

"True." Bonnie agreed. "Are you ready to head back, speed demon?"

"I'll pretend you didn't just say that." He laughed.

"Thanks. Just leave that between us."

When they made sure there were no prying eyes around, Matt used his vampire speed to take them back to the compound.

"I can't believe you didn't wake me up." Caroline glared in the mirror while she did her hair.

Bonnie was currently in the shower, letting the hot water ease her muscles. Her first intention was to take a nice hot bath, but since she had training with Lucy in an hour, she figured that wouldn't be the best idea.

"We tried waking you, but you snapped at both of us, so we left."

Caroline rolled her eyes, "I don't know why we have to stay in the Mikaelson family dungeon anyway."

"Honestly, me either, but Lucy insisted. And as much as I don't trust any of them, I trust my cousin."

"A cousin you barely know." Caroline threw out.

"You're just pissy because you had your little one night stand with Klaus." Bonnie shot back.

Caroline flushed the toilet, making Bonnie jump out in the nude, shattering the mirror with her mind.

"Damnit, Care!"

Caroline jumped a little yet laughed all the same. "Sorry, I didn't think it was going to have a ripple effect. You know that's seven years bad luck."

"Seven years for you too, since you made me do it." After wrapping a towel around her body, she snapped her fingers and the glass flew back in place. "See, like it never happened."

When Bonnie walked back in her room to get ready, she said, "Look, Caroline, trust me when I say that I'm on alert just as much as you are. Klaus and his family have done a lot of messed up shit… to us specifically. We're all aware of that. I'm aware of that. Which is why when I realized this was our first stop, I put a protection spell over all of us just in case some shit went down. I'm not an idiot. We always have to be prepared."

Caroline sighed and sat down on the chair. "Thank you, Bons."

"Now, what's really bothering you?" she asked, slipping on her clothes. "Because I know it's more than who we're bunking with for a few days. And don't say Stefan either, because I know that's not it."

Bonnie waited for her to get the courage to speak. And honestly, she would wait all day if necessary. Caroline was her best friend, she always knew when something was wrong with her.

"Klaus has a kid." She paused for a moment. "Klaus, an a thousand year old vampire/werewolf hybrid has a child. The thing that's wrecked people's lives and killed more times than I can probably count. He has a beautiful baby girl. How is that…how is that even fair?"

Caroline had a point, but that wasn't what made Bonnie sympathize. "You want a baby?"

"No." She quickly said, but then her tune changed. "Yes…. I don't know, some day. Not now. I always envisioned myself being the center of attention until I had a child to take that attention away from me, you know?"

In some off the wall way, Bonnie understood what she meant.

"I envisioned having a child, being the best mother possible, and that child having a grandmother to lean onto and now…" Tears appeared in her eyes. "Sorry, I…"

Bonnie went over to Caroline and pulled her into a hug. "Don't ever apologize for crying, Care. Don't ever apologize for feeling the way you do."

"I think the main reason is that now that my mom is gone and I just… I never imagined that…. I don't know. I just want something to feel complete. You know? And now she's gone and because of what I am, I'll never be able to have something of my own."

"You want to know what I think?"

Caroline nodded.

"I think this trip… I think this vacation away, could be good for you too. I mean I know we'll all be around each other, and probably get on each other's nerves occasionally, but maybe during this trip you can find different things out about yourself that you never knew. You could take the time to focus on Caroline. Losing a parent is hard… that pain… that pain never goes away. But, maybe it's time to get back in touch with yourself. I think we all need to do that. Find ourselves again… reinvent."

Caroline nodded, and smiled, as Bonnie wiped her tears. "You're right, Bons. I think I do need to do that. I think it would be for the best."

While Bonnie continued getting ready, Caroline's question made her pause for a moment.

"What about you? Do you want kids? Do you feel like if you stay with Damon he would be robbing you of that opportunity?"

"I mean I'm kind of in the same boat as you. One day I'd want a kid, but not now. And I don't see it as Damon robbing me. I love him and I want to be with him no matter what. And the great thing about it all is that we can adopt….when we're 100% ready of course."

Caroline sighed and flopped down on Bonnie's bed. "I can't believe you're going to leave me here all alone again with the Mikaelson family drama."

Bonnie stood up and turned around. "Well, this time Matt will be here."

"Yeah that's if he doesn't go off and find some girl to fuck."

Bonnie couldn't help but laugh. Before they arrived in New Orleans, they spent a little over a week going to different places and sightseeing. The third night they stayed in a hotel, both Caroline and Bonnie walked in on Matt, balls deep in the hotel receptionist.

"Those pesky vampire hormones." Bonnie stated, as she finished up tying her shoes. "Okay, I'm all ready."

"Just make sure you're back before dinner. I'm making reservations."

Caroline didn't need to say anything further. If Bonnie and the rest of the gang missed dinner, she would probably skin them all alive.

"You know I never thought I'd just come back here to visit. It was never on my list to return too."

Damon had to agree with Stefan. The only reason he was really stepping foot back into New Orleans was because it was Bonnie's first stop for her training. If it wasn't for her, he would have cancelled out New Orleans altogether. The fact that they were staying with the originals of all people just proved that they had a screw loose somewhere.

"Same here, brother."

Even though it hadn't quite reached noon yet, that still didn't stop them from walking into one of the bars, with every intention of drinking for a few hours.

"Why? Is it because the last time you were here, you were supposed to join me in the army, but vanished at the last minute."

"Are we really about to bring that up again?"

"Or, that you made this vampire who was sired to you count bricks for a decade." Stefan flashed his pearly whites. "I'll wait."

Damon rolled his eyes, as the blonde bartender walked up to them.

"You two are starting the day pretty early I see."

"It's 5:00 somewhere. Not that it would matter." He stared into the woman's eyes. "Why don't you get a bottle of bourbon for me and a martini for my dear brother here? On the house."

"I need to see some ID."

Damon's eyes widened a little. He couldn't be losing his mojo could he?

"Are you sure about that?" Stefan asked, trying to use his compulsion.

"I'm very sure." She answered.

"Ah Camille, I see you have been introduced to Stefan and Damon Salvatore."

Both Damon and Stefan looked towards the entrance to see Klaus walking in.

"They are not bothering you, are they love?"

"Nope."

The tone in her voice made Damon look between Klaus and Camille. Obviously there was something going on there.

Klaus took a seat in between Damon and Stefan. "I allow you both to stay in my home, and you do not even invite me for a drink. How disrespectful."

Camille put out three glasses and a bottle of bourbon and scotch. She didn't even give Klaus a second glance before she went to the back.

"Trouble in paradise?" Damon smirked. "Guess it's true that you have a thing for blondes."

Klaus provided the mischievous grin he always did, before he gave a comeback. "And it seems that your taste have gone from doppelgangers to witches." He took sip of his drink. "I must say that's a vast improvement."

Stefan interrupted Damon before he could say anything. "Where's Hayley, Klaus?"

"Right where she needs to be, Rippah."

"You know Klaus, as much as we enjoy you giving us a place to stay." Damon's voice dripped of sarcasm. "Me and my brother were having a bonding moment here. I'd suggest you go do the same, but I hear through the grape vine that the only one you have left can't stand you."

Damon and Klaus could have gone at it all day, but the next thing that came out of the original hybrid's mouth made the antagonizing stop.

"You know I heard about what your little witch did with that Kai fellow. All that power she has… all that power she's going to gain. Sooner or later she's not going to need you around. She'll need someone whose power will match her own." Klaus took another drink. "Or, she'll just end up killing herself. I see it all the time. Witches get a little too power hungry. Too bad you don't know a way to bind her powers."

Again it was Stefan who spoke up.

"Bonnie is more powerful than any witch you've ever known. She can handle herself."

Damon knew that Klaus was just trying to push his buttons, but that didn't stop all the thoughts that rushed in his head as he stared into his empty glass.

Deep breath in. Deep breath out. Deep breath in. Deep breath out.

Bonnie kept inhaling and exhaling slowly, trying to soothe her state of mind. Unfortunately, the act of concentration and meditation wasn't rearing it's much needed head.

And when she opened her eyes, she almost jumped out of her skin because Lucy was sitting right in front of her.

"See, you didn't even feel me appear in front of you."

"Or me behind you."

Bonnie jumped again at Elijah Mikaelson standing behind her.

"For us to begin this process you have to loosen up Bonnie. You have to let go of everything around you and let go of whatever is preventing you from doing so."

Queue in the agitation. It had already been a little over two hours, and she was just sitting on her ass staring at the inside of her eyelids. This was not what she had in mind.

"You're supposed to feel when I appear, and you're supposed to feel when Elijah is even remotely close to coming…. No pun intended." She winked at Elijah.

Bonnie made a disgusted face and rolled her eyes. "Okay, but maybe I didn't feel anything because your teleportation abilities aren't loud and neither is Elijah coming out of nowhere."

"Someone's been hanging out with Damon too long with that attitude problem."

Bonnie sighed, "Look, I'm sorry, I'm just…I don't know what this is really helping me with. I've already practiced certain control methods and becoming one with nature all by myself. I thought we were going to get into the much bigger stuff. You know, with what happened to me where Kai is concerned."

"And like I told you already, self trainings are fine and all, but if that's all it really took, then what happened with Kai would have been a breeze in the park. You almost died Bonnie, but your magic helped you out. So, you know what that means? Your magic controls you, when you should be able to control your magic. And then the fact that it's been working on and off lately, and you can't do anything about it, that means you definitely need this. You knew this was going to be a long process, so if you want to finish all the steps, you need to figure out what's holding you back so we can really get started."

"There's nothing holding me back." Okay, maybe that was a lie, but she really didn't want to talk about it with her cousin.

Lucy then looked at Elijah. "Do you think we could have some time alone please? We'll meet you back at the house in an hour."

Elijah nodded, seeing the serious demeanor on Lucy's face, and used his vampire speed to leave.

Lucy grabbed Bonnie's hands, "I didn't want to have to do this, cuz, but I know you're lying and if you want my help, then you need to not only be honest with me, but with yourself."

"You wouldn't." Bonnie tried moving her hands away, but for some reason, they felt stuck.

"Of course I would." Lucy's eyes bore into Bonnie's. "You could try to keep me out. You're powerful enough, but right now, I know you can't."

And before Bonnie could say anything, she felt Lucy barge into her mind. She was accessing a specific set of memories. It was like she knew exactly where to go to find them. If Bonnie's powers hadn't been on the fritz, she would have been able to stop her. But, hell even if they were working correctly, would she have even wanted her to stop?

The tears were in Bonnie's eyes the moment Lucy removed herself from her mind. The clouds covered the sun and the rain began to fall as well.

"You think you're a bad person, don't you?"

Bonnie nodded.

"You're not." Lucy removed her hands, and touched her shoulders. "That doesn't make you bad Bonnie. That makes you smart."

"I should tell them right? I should at least tell Damon. We're doing this whole thing where we don't keep things from each other, but I don't know… I still think there's something I can do."

"Well, I thought you were getting passed this, but I see where your first lesson really needs to be. Your powers, Bonnie, you weren't given these powers to protect the world… to throw yourself in harm's way. You were given these powers for yourself. You were given these powers to do what you want and what you think is right, not to make your friends happy."

"What I want is for Elena to come back." She wiped her eyes, not that it helped with the rain falling.

"Not to be rude, because I know she's your best friend and has way more pointers of being in your life than I ever have, but when is the madness going to stop, girl. Elena's dead and she needs to stay that way."

"No." Bonnie almost shouted, but even though she didn't, the thunder in the sky still made its presence known."

"Yes. She doesn't need to come back not now, not in sixty years…not ever."

"But if I can figure something out."

Lucy stood up and brought Bonnie with her. It was clear that they weren't leaving this spot until she knocked some sense into her.

"Just stop! This guilt that you have… this regret. Stop it. I've lost so many friends in my lifetime. I'll probably lose even more. But, what I had to understand was that there was nothing I could have done. There is nothing that I can do. Just think about it, you find a way to bring Elena back, and it brings back Kai, she gets killed again and Kai is still here causing havoc. Then what would have been the point?"

It was silent among them for what felt like ever, and then Lucy held her arms around Bonnie as she cried; as she came to terms, as she let herself not be burdened and weighed down by something she couldn't change.

Elena was dead. And when Bonnie got back to Mystic Falls, she was going to take the spell off of her that enabled her to wake up in sixty years. Kai didn't need to come back. It was time to live her life… it was time for she and her friends to not look over their shoulder every five seconds.

"I'm sorry." Her voice was just a bit above a whisper, as the rain subsided.

"Don't apologize to me," Lucy, said as they began to walk to the car. "We're Bennett's. We have a knack for wanting to help people. I've done it before… not as bad as you… but I've done it. It took a lot for me to put myself first, and I barely had the help. You do."

As soon as they go to the car, Bonnie hugged Lucy. And there was a moment where she didn't want to let the older witch go.

"Thank you."

"Just so you know, I'm not a hugger, so you should feel really special right now."

A small chuckle escaped Bonnie's lips.

"Now, I know that Caroline has something planned for all of you, so we'll meet back here bright and early in the morning, and then if you can finally clear your mind, we'll move onto the city of the dead."

"You know you're more than welcome to come to this dinner Caroline's forcing us too."

"I'll have to do a rain check for tonight. Elijah and I haven't seen each other in ages, so I'm planning on spending some time with him before we leave."

"What's the deal with that anyway?"

Lucy gave her a look. "Oh, cousin, there's a lot you have to learn about me."

The sound of Bonnie screaming his name, made Damon use his tongue to bring her to pleasure even harder the second time. Currently, the raven haired, blue eyed vampire was on his knees, with his witchy girlfriend's leg resting on his shoulder, while he tongue fucked her in the shower.

He missed the hell out of her all day. And when he came into their room, to find her in the shower, he couldn't think of doing anything else.

They were supposed to be getting ready to go to dinner with Caroline, Matt, and Stefan, but Damon had to get his brother to convince Blondie to go without them and they'd just meet them there.

He knew that she had plans to exchange the goods and services with him, but the moment he made her come the second time, he had her on her on their bed, thrusting inside of her like it was his last moment on earth. She matched his pace; being just as eager as he was. The moment his fangs latched onto her neck and her blood entered his mouth, they both came. The moment Bonnie clenched around him, some type of magical spurt shot inside of him, and they stayed on an orgasmic high for twenty minutes.

"Wow…" Came out of Bonnie's mouth, as she tried to catch her breath.

"Wow is right."

As soon as Damon felt her about to sit up, he held his arm around her and brought her back against his chest.

"I know you're not thinking about moving right now."

"We're already late to Caroline's dinner." She smiled. "I'm sure she's called about ten times by now."

"They can wait." He kissed her forehead. "I missed you."

"Is the almighty Damon Salvatore turning into a sap on me?" She joked. "I think I need to spend more time away if I get a welcome home present like this."

He nibbled on her shoulder. "Ha… my witchy the comedian."

She trailed kisses along his chest.

"How was your day with Lucy?"

She paused for a moment. "Pretty eventful, I guess you could say. We'll be back at it bright and early in the morning. How about you and Stefan?"

He shrugged. "You know same old same old. Well, that was until Klaus wanted to join."

They both didn't say anything after that; each lost in their own thoughts. It probably took five minutes for both of them to break their silence and say what they needed to say at the same time.

"I can't bring Elena back—"

"Klaus told me about a spell to bind your powers—"

The look Bonnie gave him as she sat up, could have burned him on the spot.

"So, who wants to go first?" Damon asked, jokingly.

Of course he would try to make light of the situation.

"I think you better."

"We do have a dinner to get too."

Bonnie just continued to give him that look that could make a man shriek away in fear.

"I wasn't going to do anything about it." He confessed. "It crossed my mind, but I would never do that to you."

"Why would it ever cross your mind?"

He was the one giving her a look now. "Why do you think?"

"I think the whole reason for this trip with Lucy is to help me control my powers so you wouldn't have to worry about me getting hurt anymore."

"That's why I wouldn't do it. But could you really blame me? Bonnie my number one goal is to be happy. And you know what makes me happy?" He pulled her to him, even though she kept her arms crossed. "You do. And if you were to die, because of said magic, I'd kill you."

He began to place kisses on her neck. "Don't think just because you have good mouth game, that's going to make me forget this."

"I have good hand game too." He was about to insert a finger inside of her, but she softly pushed him away.

"We really do need to get ready and go."

She was about to get up from bed again, but he pulled her back to him. "Ah ah ah. It's your turn missy. What about you not being able to bring Elena back?"

She gave him a sheepish look. "I just don't think it's appropriate to talk about your ex girlfriend while we're naked."

"We just brought up Klaus."

"Klaus is not an ex."

"So, I know you had a small thing for him when he came into town."

The snort mixed with her laughter, proved that Damon was just being full of shit.

"Klaus never. Now, Kol on the other hand-"

Bonnie didn't get a chance to finish her sentence, before Damon had her on her back nibbling on her ear and making her giggle like some school girl.

When Damon had her in a position to where she couldn't move; their faces were just inches away from each other when Bonnie told him everything. How she found out the first couple of days while they were on the road that if she brought Elena back, then Kai would come back too. Whether it was now or sixty years from now, Kai would return. And there was no way they could probably prevent him from bringing hell on earth.

"So, what now?" He asked, his lips touching her forehead, and then her cheeks.

"I'm not going to allow that to happen. She can't come back."

"Good decision."

"That's okay with you?"

"Why wouldn't it be?"

Her silence told him everything.

"It may take Caroline, Matt, Ric, and Jeremy a little while to come around to it, but Stefan and I we've been alive for a very long time to know that people die." He then kissed her fingers. "And if you think it's because of something else, I've moved on."

And for the life of him, he needed Bonnie to believe that. He loved her more than anything. What happened to Elena was unfortunate, but now it was time to put their focus on something else. They couldn't keep living in the past and worrying so much.

"We still haven't told any of them that we knew Kai and Elena were connected before we…"

He silenced her by kissing her lips. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Now, the most important thing I got out of all this, is… did you really have a crush on Kol?"

Bonnie rolled her eyes, and laughed. "Of course that's all you heard."

He finally let her up from underneath him, and watched as she checked her phone.

"Fifteen missed calls and twenty text messages from Care. We really need to go."

That still didn't stop him from backing her against the wall, and kissing her deeply.

A/N: So, what do you all think? I really hope you enjoyed this chapter. Like I said, even though my story isn't completely cannon, I'm still trying to make it flow so when we get back to the 7th season. I do watch the Originals, but I didn't want to add too much and stray away from that show as well.

Anyways, I decided to go that route with Elena, because after much thinking, I really don't want the idea of her coming back right now. When we get into the 7th season, we're crossing over to new territory, and since my story differs because Bonnie and Damon are already together, there's no point in bringing her back in here or even giving her a timeline. And yes, Elena will be mentioned throughout the story (not much), but the rest of the gang doesn't know that Damon killed Kai, knowing that Elena was tied to him.

I enjoy writing in Lucy, because I feel like she's exactly what Bonnie needs right now. Bonnie is finally coming to terms with everything and will be able to start her training next chapter. And I hope I didn't see too OOC with Bamon.

Anywho! I hope you all enjoyed. Please leave me a review and let me know what you think. They help more than you'll ever know =)
