This was an idea that I had originally disregarded when I did the 9-Months one-shot series. But now that I'm reconnecting with the story and getting ready to post the final installment it came back and I was like fine I'll do it. Hopefully it's a nice bridge to the sequel.

Disclaimer: I do not own the characters they belong to the wonderful people of Lost Girl, Showcase, Prodigy, et al.

A Month And Two Weeks Later….

Looking for an apartment was a pain in the ass. It was even more of a pain in the ass because Lauren had been trying to do it between classes, schoolwork, and her part-time job for the last month but it was proving to be a difficult thing to do. This week was different though because Bo was in Boston to help her decide on a place for them to live. This would be the last time she would travel between two continents. Bo had another two weeks in Italy then she would be home for good. Lauren smiled as she thought about them finally starting their life together. It wouldn't be the same as it had been before but she and Bo would be together and on the same continent so that's all that mattered. Lauren walked through the empty rooms of the apartment that their real estate agent was showing them and she could hear Bo talking to the woman in the living room. It was nice but it wasn't them. It seemed to be too small and it wasn't as open as she would have liked. Also Bo had a thing for unique architecture this one seemed too much like another unit they had seen earlier in the week. She walked back into the living room and said, "You don't like it so we should probably move on to the next one."

Bo scoffed and smiled at her, "And how do you know that I don't like it?"

Lauren rolled her eyes as she started to list of the number of reasons why Bo didn't like the apartment, "There's no balcony or porch. The rooms are too small. The kitchen is ridiculously small and it woulnd't be able to handle your extensive collection of cookware. There isn't a separate room for you to do your work in." Bo only grinned at her as she continued, "You also don't want carpet throughout the apartment and this thing is covered in carpet. Oh and you don't like the architecture."

"But it's five minutes from the hospital that you will be doing your clerkships at which you start after next year. I don't want you to have to drive too far." Bo pointed out as she moved closer to Lauren.

Lauren took hold of her hand and nodded, "I know it is but I don't want to live in a place that isn't going to be perfect for us."

Bo smiled at her, "Well we aren't going to get perfect sweetie."

"I know we're not but…" She trailed off as she looked around the apartment then she looked back at Bo, "This place isn't us."

Bo continued to smile at her then she leaned in to give her a brief kiss. "Okay we'll look somewhere else." She looked at the woman who was looking anywhere but at them, "Stacey what else do you have for us?"

Stacey opened the folder that she had with her and said, "I have two more units in this area and I have a unit down by the harbour. It's located in an old industrial building that was recently converted into apartments."

As soon as she heard that Lauren grinned at Bo and said, "That's the one."

Bo chuckled and told her, "Don't get your hopes up. We have to take a look at the other ones first."

Lauren shook her head and countered, "Nope. We're looking at that one first. I guarantee that is our apartment."

Bo sighed and chuckled, "Okay. Fine. Though I have a question."

"Which is…?" Lauren wondered.

Bo looked at Stacey and asked, "How far is it from Mass Gen? " Lauren groaned and Bo said, "I'm not having you drive too far Lauren. One you have an aversion to driving and secondly you're a young woman in a new city. It puts you at risk."

Lauren scoffed and countered, "Bo I'm twenty-one I think I can handle navigating a new city by myself. I have done so, and quite well might I add, for the past month and a half."

Bo let out a frustrated breath then said, "Okay. All right." She took a deep breath then said in a quiet voice, "I just don't want anything bad to happen to you."

Lauren reached out and placed her hand on Bo's cheek, "I know you don't but you can't always protect me Bo." They stared at each for a second then she smiled, "So let's go see our apartment."

Bo gave her a kiss and it lingered for moment then she pulled away saying, "Okay."

Stacey smiled at them and said, "It's only fifteen minutes from Mass Gen so that's why I included it."

Lauren took Bo's hand and as they made their way out of the apartment she said, "See that's not too bad. I'm certain I can take the bus or something. So no driving needed."

Bo scowled at her for a second then she shook her head. Lauren wrapped Bo's arm around her shoulder then she kissed her cheek before remarking, "You look cute when you're surly."

Bo chuckled and shook her head while she commented, "Why do I put up with you?"

Lauren grinned and replied, "Because you love me."

Bo kissed her forehead and said, "I certainly do."

The three of them made their way out of the building and Bo and Lauren got into Bo's car then followed Stacey to the location of the next unit. Lauren took hold of Bo's hand and said, "You know what we should do as soon as we move in?"

Bo grinned and answered, "Have sex in every room?"

Lauren chuckled and told her, "I thought that was a give in especially since you'll be home for good."

Bo lifted their joined hands and kissed the back of Lauren's then said, "And I can't wait to be back with you. I miss you so much."

Lauren sighed and she squeezed Bo's hand as she told her, "I know and I miss you too but it's almost over." She decided to turn the conversation in a different direction because if she didn't then she would start thinking about Bo leaving her in a few days and if she did that then she would get mopey. "Have you heard back from any of the universities about jobs or anything?"

Bo took a deep breath then said, "A few of them are interested and a couple of them want me to do some seminars or something. With the school year just starting out its hard for them to just introduce a new course so I'm probably looking at a few seminars then they'll put me on the schedule for next semester."

Lauren smiled and exclaimed, "That's awesome Bo. At least they're interested in you and your subject matter."

Bo chuckled and told her, "Everyone is always interested in sex. But I'll keep my workload light this semester so I can work on my book since I haven't been able to work on it much while I've been in Italy."

"Ah yes the great Bo Dennis sex advice book." Lauren said with a smirk on her face. Teasing Bo about her book had been something that she had been doing because of the subject matter but she was proud that Bo was accomplishing something that she had been wanting to do for a while now.

Bo pointed at her and said, "Hey it is not a sex advice book. It is a book on the psychology of the sexual response in women. It is going to be an awesome book."

Lauren leaned over and kissed Bo's cheek, "I know it is and I can't wait until it's published so I can tell people I'm the fiancée of a published scholar."

Bo chuckled and said, "Hopefully by then you'll be my wife and I think you're pushing it with scholar."

Lauren rolled her eyes and said, "Oh stop down playing your intelligence Bo. You being smart is one of the sexiest things there is about it you." She smiled, "And I hope I'm your wife by then. Hey what are we doing for the last name thing?"

Bo glanced at Lauren then asked, "What do you want to do with them?"

Lauren shrugged. It was just a random though that popped into her head and she said, "I'm not certain."

Bo chuckled and told her, "Why don't we worry about it once we have a date set. Right now I'm more worried about finding us a place to live."

Lauren laughed and said, "Okay. I'll focus on one thing at time."

"Thank you." Bo said with a smile on her face.

A few minutes later they were pulling up to a brick industrial building and as Bo looked at out the windshield she smiled, "I bet you this thing has been around since the revolution."

Lauren rolled her eyes. There were times when Bo was a bigger nerd than she was. "Come on let's go take a look at our future apartment."

They got out the car and followed Stacey into the building. It had been completely renovated and it was beautiful on the inside. They got onto a freight elevator and went up to the top floor and when it stopped on the floor Stacey said, "There are only three units up here due to how spacious they are so you won't have to worry about a lot of noise." She smiled at them, "I think you two might like this one. I hope."

They walked to the metal door that was at the end of the hall and Stacey unlocked it then slid it open. As soon as they walked into the apartment Lauren was in love and when she looked at Bo's face she saw that her fiancée was just in love with the place as she was. Bo walked over to the kitchen which was open and huge, "Oh my god. I could spend hours in here cooking. This is so amazing."

Lauren walked into the living room which had hardwood floor and she looked at Bo who was still in the kitchen, "I love this living room. And Bo look there's a balcony."

Bo walked over to her and smiled, "Holy crap that's huge."

The two of them walked around the apartment which included a guest room, study, and bathroom on the first floor then they went up to the loft area which was master bedroom. There was a skylight above the area. She and Bo couldn't stop talking about how amazing the place was and when they had come down from the master bedroom Bo exclaimed, "We're taking it."

"Are you sure you don't want to look at any other-"

"Nope." Lauren said then she repeated the same words as Bo, "We're taking it. This is-This is us."

Stacey laughed then let out a relieved breath, "Thank goodness. You two have been great but very picky." They laughed then she said, "Okay then. Let's go back to the office and we'll do the paperwork."

Lauren was giving the apartment a final look when Bo's arms wrapped around her waist then she gave her cheek a kiss. She smiled and told her, "This is going to be our home."

Bo sighed then whispered in her ear, "It is although anywhere would have sufficed. As long as I'm with you then I'll always be home."

Lauren turned around in Bo's arms and smiled, "I love you."

Bo kissed her then murmured, "I love you too." They shared one more kiss then Bo pulled back and with a grin on her face she asked, "Ready to go make this place officially ours?"

Lauren nodded with a hug smile on her face. It was the perfect place for them to start their new life in Boston and now all they had to do was get through the next few weeks then it would be nothing but domestic bliss for the two of them.
