The rest of the week passed without much excitement, minus the pool fiasco which involved an intense game of marco polo that Tony tried cheating at.

I had assigned Loki a list of books to read that would hopefully help him get a look into the human psyche. He had already started on the Harry Potter books when Fury called us with a mission.

"Mr. Stark would like the Avengers to assemble in the 10th floor conference room immediately." Jarvis' voice came over the intercom in the entire tower.

Clint and I glance at each other worriedly, "I wonder what's going on."

I shrug my shoulders in response to him before Loki and Clint follow me to the elevator. Within minutes we arrive at the conference room to see Fury's face on the monitor. We take our seats as the others join us.

"The reason I'm contacting you is because the world is in potential danger again. A few years ago Agent Lawrence and Agent Barton went on a mission to take down a company called Sueños, as well as gather information from their servers. The mission was completed, and we believed the threat was over. However, new intelligence tells us that part of the company survived, and has been growing from a new base located somewhere in Greenland."

"You want us to find the base, and take it down?" I ask him.

"This mission will just be reconnaissance. We need to know what they know, and how they survived. Agent Lawrence, since you know this company best you will go. As much as I don't like it that means that Loki will also be going, keep a close watch on him. You will begin immediately." With that Fury hung up the call.

All of my team mates started talking at once, each saying that they didn't like it.

"Stop. I know you guys don't like it but it has to happen. This Sueños group is serious bad news, I need to take them down. Don't worry, we'll be back in a week tops." I reassure them before leading Loki back down to our floor.

I tell him what to pack before packing my own bag, until Clint interrupts me.

"I should be going with you."

"Fury wants a small group, only two of us can go and since I know it best it has to be me. It has to be Loki as well, you know that."

He pouts, "doesn't mean I have to like it."

I smile softly at him before giving him a quick kiss and resuming my packing. When I was done I had a bag of clothes and a bag of my weapons.

Loki was already waiting in the hallway for me, and we all met the team on the quinjet launch pad.

"All the luck on your grand mission Lady Brittney." Thor boomed as he pulled me into a bone crushing hug upon seeing me.

I laughed and thanked him, before I was passed from hug to hug. Once everyone was done wishing me luck I turned to Tony and Bruce, "you two call Reed Richards while I'm gone. I want to see some serious improvement on the hulk proof fabric when I get back." They nodded, "Nat, keep them out of trouble for me. Steve, you best keep my twin safe while I'm gone, oh and keep Clint out of trouble for me. Thor, look after Jane and Darcy."

That group nods at me, before they bid me farewell and head inside. Loki had boarded the jet already, leaving Clint and I alone.

"Get back to me safe." He whispered to me in a hug.

"Always." I assure him before we share a goodbye kiss and I board the jet.

I take the captains chair and begin the flight to the icy landscape of Greenland.

Loki had been sitting in the co-pilots chair silently until we landed, "what do you plan on doing exactly?"

"Well, for now we're going to go to the SHIELD safe-house in the area and try to locate the base. Once we find it then we'll make a plan and infiltrate it to get information." I tell him as I flip a switch on the control panel to activate the cloaking capability of the jet.

He follows me out the back ramp after we grab our bags. We had landed in an open field with a small cabin resting on the edge of the forest. It had a few windows, and a single door. The interior included a table, some chairs and a cot in the corner. A door in the corner of the room lead to the bathroom and a small kitchen.

I started setting up the equipment on the table, as Loki looked around at the space, "it's not very big."

"Yeah, well for now it's home. According to the mission briefing SHIELD has already narrowed down the location of the base to this area" I point at a clearing in the forrest. "5 square miles. We suspect that the base is underground, which means it will be harder to infiltrate."

"I could get us in undetected if I had access to my magic."

"First lets go get a look at the entrance." I tell him before pulling on camouflage.

He pulls it on as well, and I grab a small bag before leading the way through the snow.

Upon reaching the clearing we spend a day under the cover of snow, looking for the base. Camouflaged in the side of a cliff there was an entrance big enough for a large truck.

"Is that the entrance?" Loki asks me in a quiet voice.

"Looks to be, there's not much above ground. My guess is that everything is a part of a tunnel system. We're gonna have to get in there somehow."

"If I could access my magic I could conceal us." Loki states, matter-of-factly.

I look at the base while I think about it. Just as I'm about to agree I see a convoy of trucks approaching. "We will get inside in one of those." I point them out to Loki. "We can hide in the snow, I'll stir some up to give us some cover. Then we can easily get into the last truck in the convoy, and take out any personnel they have in the truck."

Loki nodded, and we moved into position behind a large tree. I stirred up enough snow to hide us, before we hopped into the last truck. There was one guard watching over some type of machine parts. I took him out and pulled out my Stark phone, I took pictures of the machine before sliding the phone back in it's pocket on my hip.

The truck pulled into a pocket of warmth, and stopped. Loki and I sat cautiously until the truck started moving down on what seemed to be a large scale elevator. Once we stopped again I sprang into action, I took out the man approaching the car, and waved Loki to follow me.

I led the way through the building, using logic to find the main computer hub. There was a single guard standing outside of the room I presumed to be the one we needed.

"Loki, air vent." I whispered to him. He nodded and boosted me up enough to get the grate off. I then pulled myself in silently, and hoisted him up after me.

I lit a small flame to light the vent system before crawling through the duct to the vent we needed. I pulled off that grate and looked down into the room, as I thought it was the main computer hub.

I flipped out of the vent and landed silently in a crouch. I scanned the room, finding it empty before moving over to the access hub. I pulled out a thumb drive and plugged it in before hacking the system and making copies of all their research.

Then using skills Tony had taught me I made sure I was untraceable, and dropped a series of viruses that would activate should they notice the hack and try to trace me.

Loki and I got out of the building unnoticed and we went back to the cabin. It was quickly approaching night, and a fast paced blizzard was about to hit so we settled in for the night.

I got a fire going, and heated up the provisions we had, which was limited to soup, before I sat down at the laptop and started importing the files from the flash drive. I began reviewing them with Loki looking over my shoulder.

At first it was just employee files, then it was records from the experiments they've done on dream walking. After that it showed schematics for a machine that could let multiple people dream walk at once, and it would potentially allow the walker to gain more control them then they had been given originally.

"So that's what they needed all the parts for, they're going to build a hive." Loki stated.

"According to the most recent update they're close to done with it too. We're going to need to take out the base. Think you're up for it?"

Loki nodded at me, "yes, what's the plan of action?"

I thought it over, "well, I doubt we're going to be lucky enough to get in the same way. Can you turn objects invisible, as well as yourself?" I ask.

"Yes, but only if I can access my powers."

"Okay, my thought is to load you up with as much explosives as we can, then you turn it and yourself invisible. I'll get caught in my attempt to infiltrate the base. That will allow us both to get in. Once I'm in the cell or wherever they keep me to interrogate me then you'll bust me out and we will lay down the bombs. Set them off and escape before they go boom."

He considers it, "what makes you sure that they will not simply kill you when they see you?"

"Because I've infiltrated one of their other bases, they will believe I have important information that they can get out of me."

"It will work. When are we going?"

"The sooner the better. Get magicked up." I tell him, and I feel a small rush of something through the bond. I'd guess it was his magic returning.

I started loading him with as much explosive power as I could before telling him to disappear. He faded out from my sight.

"That's handy," I removed my phone and all of my favorite weapons before replacing them with standard SHIELD guns and knives. "Let's move."

We both trek back through the snow towards the base. I sneak inside and make it to the elevator before I get caught.

Not surprisingly they removed my weapons and, to my annoyance, my clothes before strapping me down to a dentist's chair. Luckily for me the straps covered enough for me to keep some modesty.

"Ah, Miss Fredrick, or should I call you Miss Lawrence? Well, I can't say it's a pleasure to see you again." A cold, calculating voice slicked across the room.

"Now, now Peter, there's no need to be mean." I easily hid the shock it gave me that he knew my name.

"You destroyed my facility!" He yelled in my face.

"Technically I just crashed the computer system, it was your team that brought out the flame throwers."

That comment earned me a sharp slap on the right side of my face. I spit out the blood that had come from my teeth catching my cheek.

He muttered something about keeping an eye in me to the other man in the room, before he exited.

"He always was so dramatic," I huff.

After a few minutes the man falls flat on his face, and I'm released from the table. I quickly dress as Loki opens the door using the guard key card. Then we set about placing the bombs. Within 13 minutes the bombs were placed and we had both made our way out of the facility.

Less then 2 minutes after we had cleared the area the bombs detonated and we were headed home. We briefed Fury about the outcome of the mission, and sent him a copy of the files. We had been gone for exactly a week when I landed the quinjet at the Avengers Tower.

A/N: super long wait on this one guys! I am so sorry, there's been a crap ton of stress and drama in my life recently.

But I hope you enjoy this story, I'll update when I can.
