[A/N]: This story idea came about, as most of my others do, when I was listening to music. Specifically, Trace Adkins. I hope you enjoy it.
Walter and the team walked into Harrington Estate, the site of their current job. Their employer, Derek Harrington, sat in the living room, awaiting their arrival. He smiled when they walked in. "Thank you for coming, Mr. O'Brien, and for bringing your team. The security room is this way." He rose and led them to a spacious room full of computers and electrical equipment. Walter immediately took control of the situation. "Over the phone you said that every thirty minutes, a security camera freezes and remains that way for twenty minutes. It has a seeming random pattern, and affects all of your cameras, am I correct?" Mr. Harrington nodded curtly. "Okay. Happy, can you go take a look at the cameras' control panel? Sylvester, I'll pull up the history of the problem so you can find the pattern. Toby, go interview the staff, see if they have any issues with Mr. Harrington." The team scampered off to do as Walter asked. Paige hovered awkwardly by Walter's left shoulder while he accessed the records. Mr. Harrington arrogantly asked, "Why is she not helping to work on my problem?" Walter stopped what he was doing and turned to face their employer. "Because her area of expertise is not needed in this situation," he answered levelly, before returning to the computer. Mr. Harrington continued, "Well, why did you bring her along if she wasn't going to do anything to help?!" Walter looked up from the screen yet again, but this time his eyes glinted with annoyance. "Because Paige is part of the team." Mr. Harrington kept going; not knowing that he was definitely pressing his luck. "The girl is useless. She doesn't belong on this job." With that, Walter slammed his hand on the desk and started to get up. Paige immediately grabbed his arm and pushed him back down. "It's not worth it, Walter." Mr. Harrington sneered as the events unfolded before him. "She doesn't have any skill set that I can see. I'll bet she's only on the team because you all pity her for some reason." At that statement, Walter slowly looked up to meet the man's gaze. His eyes were full of rage. He got up quickly, surprising Paige so much that she couldn't stop him. Before anyone could react, Walter had strode up to their employer and punched him in the face, breaking his nose. "Paige is on the team because we need her help," Walter told the man in an ice-cold tone. "Do not think I will let you insult my team and get away with it." He turned back to the desk and started packing up his equipment. "Come on. We're leaving," he told the team, and stalked off to go get Toby.
In the car on the way home, Paige told Walter, "You shouldn't have done that. You guys needed that job." Walter didn't even glance away from the road. "I will not tolerate anyone insulting my team." Paige shook her head slightly. "I'm not necessarily part of the team." Walter glanced at her in the mirror. "Of course you are. You're the most important part of the team. You keep us human."
