Csilla: A modern!AU Yatone first impression oneshot~ :D
WARNING - short ._.
"Kazuma," Yato whined as he walked beside his best friend, "Are you really gonna tutor a bunch of bratty kids?"
Sure he could imagine the scene but didn't Kazuma find junior high students to be juvenile and annoying? All they ever did was gossip and try to act older than they really were. Annoying, right? It was regrettable that he was once among that irritating group of society and as Kazuma seemed to enjoy pointing out, he had apparently not grown so much out of that phase. That bastard.
"Yes, Yato... Mr. Daikoku asked me to," The 'ever so responsible' response came out naturally as he continued switching his attention from the directions on the paper in his hands to his surroundings.
Groaning, "Are we lost?" Yato was growing impatient with all this walking; his best friend, not missing a beat, retorted with the most obvious question: "Why are you coming anyways?"
"So I can be the first to rub it in your face when you regret your decision," The raven grinned - yes, that was his only reason for tagging along of the brunette's trek to tutor a couple of junior high brats.
A few moments later, Kazuma turned a corner at an intersection before muttering: "Do I ever get us lost," as he stuffed the paper in his blazer's pocket. His question came out more as a statement and Yato couldn't argue; for all the years, they had been friends - the brunette had never gotten them lost. Even on their longest adventures as kids.
Stopping outside an apartment complex, the two high school teens paused in their trek - Kazuma, stopping only to look for the right apartment number and Yato to yawn in utter boredom.
"Kazuma-senpai... these are my friends, Kofuku Ebisu" a young brunette extended her hand over to a bubblegum-pink-haired teen who waved in response as her friend continued on: "And this is Yukine Sekki," her hands motioned over to a teen wearing a snow cap that had tuffs of blonde sticking out in the front.
Upon meeting the pair of fireflower irises, Yato's mind buzzed - who was this stranger with such a radiating color in his eyes? Interest piquied, he followed Kazuma's lead by introducing himself to the group of junior high students: "Yato," but his attention was solely on one person. Yukine Sekki.
Despite his northern-most part of him screaming for him not to do this but a central part of him was shrugging it off with a soft 'why not'. The raven took a seat in-between his best friend and the blonde, who hadn't even bothered to look at him when he introduced himself.
While Kazama went ahead and began tutoring the middle-schoolers, Yato slyly peered over onto the page that Yukine had opened before him; advanced algebra laid in front of the blonde.
"Do you mind," The raven almost jumped at the irritation aimed at him and the one thing that stopped him was Yukine's eyes. Yes, the blonde had actually turned him attention on him. Yato, at a close distance, could see the flicks of orange and yellow that contrasted godly-well with the light blonde hair that poked out from underneath the blue snow cap adorned on the teen's head.
A blonde eyebrow cocked upwards as its owner readied another comment but before he could, Yato spoke: "Sorry... guess curiosity got the better of me," with a chuckle.
Fireflower irises darted back to his work; sighing Yato decided he screwed up that first impression but the almost inaudible 'its fine then, I guess' froze his mind.
Maybe he didn't screw that up.
