Chapter 25: Epilogue

There were no words to explain how tired Gabriela was. Over the last three weeks she had been woken up every four hours, and wasn't able to get back to sleep due to how uncomfortable she was. She really thought that she was going to fall a sleep just standing in the kitchen making breakfast. As her eyes began to drop again, a pair of arms wrapped around her large mid-section.

"Morning," Matt said as he kissed her neck and playful bit her shoulder.

"Morning," she replied with a small smile.

"You look crazy sexy," he stated as he turned her to face him, however her round stomach caused him take a small step back, but did not let her leave his embrace.

"Trust me, I don't feel any sort of sexy right now being eight months pregnant," she told him with a small chuckle. "Plus you are supposed to say that you're my husband and the reason I am in this condition."

"It's no my fault I can't keep my hands off of my wife," he smiled leaning in a placing a kiss on her lips. Then he placed his hand over her stomach, "Good morning baby girl." As if on cue, he could feel the baby kick at his hand. He loved when they were like this in the morning; it felt like the three of them were the only ones in the world.

"I swear she is a complete daddy's girl already," Gabby teased as she rolled her eyes.

Matt couldn't hide the smirk that displayed across his face, "I'm sure she will love you too, but for some reason that she doesn't the second will."

"Very funny, you think we are going to have a second one. With how I feel and the lack of sleep, I'm kind of regretting this one," he eyes cast down for a second, then looked back at Matt.

Matt laughed, "I hate to break it to you, but we are going to have a whole hockey team."

Gabby raised her eyebrows, "you must be talking about your second wife."

"Yup and she is going to be hot," he replied ducking from her the smack that was coming.

"You are horrible Matthew Casey; I don't know why I agreed to marry you."

"You agreed because, you knew that we belonged together," Matt said moving back towards her and wrapped his arms around her again. He then brushed a piece of hair out of Gabby's face, "I know that we joke around a lot, but I want you to know that you are my everything and I wouldn't want what we have with anyone else. I will always want you Gabriela Casey."

Gabby wrapped her arms around Matt's neck and brought her closer to him, "I will always want you too," she said before kissing him. Matt deepened the kiss as he glided his tongue across Gabby's full lips, she parted allowing him access. His hands made their way under her shirt and began to creep up as he his fingers made small circles across her belly. A moan escaped the back of Gabby's throat at the pleasure of Matt's touch. He then began to move his lips down he jaw and then down her neck. Gabby's eyes slightly opened as she looked over Matt's shoulder, catching the time that displayed on the clock.

"Matt," she said trying not to close her eye and continue to get lost in his touches.

"Yes," he mumbled against her caramel skin.

"I need to get ready for the baby shower," she stated tilting her head back to give him better access.

"You can be late," he replied as his hands made their way to her breast causing Gabby to moan again as he squeezed them in a playful manor.

"Okay," Gabby smiled as she stepped out of Matt's embrace and lifted her shirt over her head. "But if I'm going to be late, we should take a shower now," without another word, Gabby dropped her shirt to the floor and then walked in the direction of the bathroom. Without another thought, Matt quickly relieved himself from his shirt, and followed her.

Gabby and Matt were only a half hour late to their baby shower, when they came strolling in at Molly's all the eyes of their guest were on them. "You think they know?" Gabby asked as she whispered in Matt's ear.

Matt looked around the room a second time, "They know," he replied with a smile. Then he wrapped his arm around Gabby's shoulder as they walked further into the party.

"You're late," Shay stated as she stood in front of the couple.

"It was all her fault," Matt said pointing at Gabby.

"Thanks hubby, blame the pregnant one," she said with wide eyes.

"It doesn't matter," Shay interrupted. "Now that you guys are here we can get the party started."

"Shay you are aware that this is supposed to be a baby shower, right?"

"First of all I planned this thing and second of all just because you can't drink don't mean the rest of us can't. So like I said, you ready to get this party started?"

Gabby let out an amused chuckle as she watched Shay walk behind the bar; she then began to look around the room again. She was happy to see all the guys from 51 and from 105, her family, and Matt's mother and sister. It made her realize how much her life had changed in the last couple of years; she had so many people in her life that meant so much to her.

"You ready?" Matt asked.

Gabby shook her head and placed her hand over her stomach, "Yeah."

"Can I have everyone's attention?" Matt shouted causing everyone to look in their direction. "Gabby and I want to thank everyone for coming. I know that a lot of you have waiting impatiently to know the name of baby Casey," his eyes darted over to Shay.

"We have a right to know," Shay shouted from behind the bar, causing everyone to laugh.

"So without further a due, Gabby and I would like to share that our daughter will be named Skyler Elizabeth Casey." Matt's announcement brought cheers amongst their family and friends.

The baby shower was a complete success, everyone enjoyed themselves. When Gabby and Matt got home, she was ready for bed. She quickly changed out of her clothes and climbed into their warm bed. Matt stood from the doorway and watched as she lay on her side and closes her eyes. "I meant what I said this morning," he leaned against the wall.

"And what was that?" Gabby asked as she opened her eyes.

"You are sexy."

"Matt I love you, but I don't think that I really can go another round today."

Matt smiled, "I wasn't trying to seduce you, I just wanted you to know that I love you."

"I love you too. Now will you come to bed?"

Matt took off his shirt as he walked over to his side of the bed. He climbed in then wrapped his arms around her. "I didn't think that I would ever feel this complete."

"I know what you mean. After we lost our first baby, I thought that I would never be happy again, but because of you I am. I still hurt when I think about what life would have been like with that baby, but the pain isn't as sharp as it once was."

"I never told you this, but I felt the same way."

"I'm glad that we got a second chance at us and being parents."

"Me too," Matt said as he kissed the top of her head.

To be honest Gabby never thought that she would be able to have this with Matt again, but after falling down he was the one to pick her back up. He showed her that even through the deepest despair and the hurt, the both deserved happiness, they deserved each other. She closed her eyes in his arm and smile knowing that this was how it was suppose to be.
