Yin-Yang

Pairing: Ferriswheelshipping.

They were yin and yang. They were black and white. They were opposites.

And opposites attracted.

She was the hero of the region, and everyone loved her. From her two childhood friends to her friends who trusted her with their lives, everyone loved her. She was the purest of white (like a never-ending circle in an elliptical plane).

In contrast, he was the king of Team Plasma. Everyone hated him. He had been a victim as well, but everyone hated him anyway. He was not evil, but since everyone believed him to be, he might as well be the blackest of black (a triangle in a hyperbolic plane, whose angles were all 0).

She was human. She lived and breathed and laughed.

He was not. He had never talked to other humans before, because he had the ability to talk to Pokémon. He never laughed, because laughing was unnecessary to his plans to liberate his friends (his proofs had shown that).

She was beautiful. She had beautiful sky-and-sea blue eyes and waves of chestnut hair. She was both the truth and ideal. She was a true being – she existed. She was not an angel or goddess or anything surreal. And yet at the same time she was what all girls strived to be, beautiful and kind and brave. She was someone that was always a moment too far ahead.

He was not. His eyes had often been described as emotionless, and his skin was much too pale for normalcy. He had been told many times that it had been better had he not existed, and at the same time was appreciated because everyone else could feel better than him. He was someone that was always a few steps behind.

She was just a plain girl from a rural city with a big dream. She dressed plainly and had plain belongings and a generally quite thrifty sense. But her laugh was extraordinary.

He was the King of Team Plasma. He had thousands of people down at his feet. He had a towering castle with decorations of gold and silver. But in the end the only thing that he wished for, he could not have.

But somehow she never told him to go away. She always told him that his thoughts were mistaken, but he was never pushed away. She never turned around either, but she never did go too far ahead.

She could have had the world if she had wished for it. She could have gained the Champion's throne or a spot as an assistant for the top-of-the-line researchers. She could have gone to another region on the other side of the world and become the Champion there.

But she never did. She should have been the one to fly far away, and yet she chased after him once he had left after losing. She could have forgotten about him entirely, and yet she did not.

They were yin and yang. They were black and white. They were opposites.

Opposites attracted.

And he was the darker side.

A/N: Thank you for reading. For One of Every Letter (Y) and the Great Race Competition (18).

I've been writing quite a lot of ferriswheel these days. I suppose it's because it's the first Pokémon ship I ever did fall in love with (Black was my first game).

See you soon,
