Toni POV

"Who's ready for a bath?!" I said with exaggerated enthusiasm.

"Me!" Willow squealed.

Anthony gave me a look that said: 'You're joking right?'

Normally, he was a good little boy, but not a bath time. He hated it and always looked for every opportunity to escape.

Steve would usually deal with him, but he was out on a mission. I had to make this work, somehow.

I began filling the tub with water, still keeping a close eye on Anthony. I knew he would run off the minute I wasn't looking.

Suddenly, Willow ran and jumped into the tub, clothes and all.

"Willow." I said, trying to hold back a laugh as she happily splashed around.

"Come 'er you." I lifted her out and got her out of her wet clothes.

Anthony saw his chance and bolted out if the bathroom.

"Anthony Howard, you get back here right now!" I called after him.

Of course he didn't listen to me.

I decided to give Willow her bath and deal with him later. But then I heard a scream coming from the hallway.

Pepper walked in the bathroom with her arm snaked around Anthony's waist. He was trying to squirm from her grip, but of course with no success.

"I believe this little one belongs to you." She set Anthony on the floor and blocked the door so he couldn't run off again.

"Thanks." I said.

I picked him up, got him out of his clothes and set him in the tub. He held still, but I could tell he didn't like it. He acted like he was being stripped of his dignity.

Willow was done with her bath so Pepper took her out and dried her off.

I really appreciated the extra help.

"There you go. All nice and dry." Pepper said as she finished getting Willow dressed. She ran out of the bathroom to go play.

"You're back from work early." I said.

"Yeah, your father wanted to discuss something with me."

"Really? What could be that important?"

"He didn't exactly say. But he did want to see how how felt about it."

"About what?

She sighed. "How do I put this?"

"What Pepper?"

"Um...well." She sighed. "How would you like to be a big sister?"

I froze. "What?"

"I told him this was a bad idea."

"No, it might not be. What made dad think of that?"

"Well, you're all grown up, and he misses having you follow him around and bombard him with questions, and you sneaking into the lab. And now that you and Steve have your own floor of the tower, it's too quiet."

"If that's what he wants then, yes, I would love to be a big sister."

Pepper smiled. "I'll go tell him." she left the bathroom.

"Wait, are you going to adopt again?" I asked.

Pepper turned and looked at me. Her smile said it all. "No adoption will be necessary this time."

I gasped. "You mean..."

She giggled. "Yep, we just found out."

"That's awesome!" I squealed.

Pepper laughed and walked out of the bathroom.

Anthony was done with his bath and he went to join Willow.

But something hit me. How was I going to bond with my little brother or sister when I already have three kids?

I had to make it work somehow. I cleaned up the bathroom the went to check on the baby. He was still sound asleep. I lifted him out anyway. He squirmed in my arms. I carried him as I sat on the bed.

Pepper was going to have a baby. I could not believe it. Before, I was informed that she couldn't, but miracles happen. Dad was probably over the moon about the having a kid that actually shared his DNA. I was excited that I was going to be a big sister.

Later that day while the kids were napping, I got a text from Evangeline.

Hey, I'm on my break. Wanna meet for coffee?

-Evangeline.

I sighed. I would love to, but I couldn't.

Can't, there's no one to watch the kids.

-Toni

"Who was that?"

I jumped and turned around to see Jason lounging on the couch.

"Oh , that was just Evangeline. She wanted to know if I wanted to hang out for a bit while she's on her break. But there's no one to watch the kids, so I can't." I said.

Jason got up and carefully took Gavin. "Let me watch them."

"No, you don't have to do that, it's fine."

"Toni, you haven't been outside since you cane home from the hospital. I think you could use the fresh air."

I thought for a minute. I guess it couldn't hurt to let Jason babysit. Besides, it was just this once.

"Ok, thanks." I walked into the elevator.

I met Evangeline in the lobby and we headed out. After being indoors for so long, it was nice to get out and take a walk.

"So, how's the new baby?" Evangeline asked after we stopped for coffee.

"He's good. When you look at him, you see a mini Steve. He's got the same demeanor and everything." I said.

"I'll have to come see him someday." Evangeline said.

"Sure, come by anytime."

We paid and left.

"So, speaking of Steve heard from him lately?" she asked as we started walking down the sidewalk.

"No. Which I think is very strange. I mean, he was outraged when he was asked to go on the mission."

"I can imagine. I also wanted to ask about your...mission. I talked to Fury. I asked why you would just run off like that. I asked him why you and your parents were such prime targets. He wouldn't say."

"Well, I thought I could catch this man and get revenge for killing my parents. But a you know what happened. And this whole time, I've been trying to decide if this was really worth it. Until, I stopped at a little antique shop just down the block."

Evangeline looked at me questionably. "Antique shop?"

"Yep." I totally ignored her look. "And while I was there just browsing around, the lady who worked there asked me if I needed help finding anything. And as I turned to answer her...I realized that she looked very familiar."

"What do you mean?"

"Remember the day were bored and decided to browse S.H.I.E.L.D files?"

"Yeah, and then we got busted by Coulson."

I chuckled. "Remember the file labeled 'Restricted'?"

She nodded.

"Well, I cracked the code to get in."

Evangeline gasped and almost dropped her coffee. "Toni..."

"No, I didn't hack into it. But I figured out why the lady at the antique shop looked so familiar."

"Why?" Evangeline said eagerly.

"Well, I went and told Fury. He said I can talk to them anytime I want, but under one condition. No one can know who they are. And most importantly, no one can know that they are alive."

Evangeline thought for a moment. "No one can know they are still alive?" she mumbled softly. "It's...your parents isn't it?"

I smiled. "Our little secret."

Evangeline gave me a playful nudge before skipping off, she had to meet someone.

I headed back to the tower.

As I turned the block, I passed the antique shop that was a few feet from the coffee shop we had stopped at.

I stood on the sidewalk, just watching. Soon, I seen a woman with long wavy hair just like mine come to check the display on the front window.

She looked up and saw me across the street and waved.

I smiled and waved back.
