DOVE

Shinichi was sitting in the park, resting from another successfully closed case, when white feathers caught his eyes, just as it had been happening at least once a day for weeks now. Frowning, leaving the freshness of the shade, he approached the tallest tree, finding a cute, white, red eyes dove.

Blinking, slightly confused since, though he had been expecting a dove, a question needed to be answered: was Kid´s stalking habit back? Shinichi was certain that subject had been taken care of, with a few well-shot soccer balls and sweet threatening smiled. Hm... no, not Kid´s work.

"Are you a stray?" The black haired boy inquired, smiling shapelessly when the dove took flight, settling on top of his hair with ease, as if she belonged there. "Not a stray... Did you run away? Don´t worry, we are going to take good care of you."

When Kaito stumbled back home from another school day filled with boredom, he realized a certain little dove was missing from his usual entourage. Frowning, calling her name again and again, he started to worry. Tan-chan, aside from being rather independent and loving to fly around without his orders, had always been home on time. Had something happened to her? She was his favorite when it came to stalking Tantei-kun, now Meitantei, and she seemed to enjoy it as much as he did...

Wait a minute!

Suddenly, it hit him.

Tan had started flying out after meeting Shinichi! Running to the hidden room, he tried to locate her GPS chip, falling down from shock when he saw it. THAT TRAITOR! That white, feathery traitor! How could she? He trusted her and she… she… She was at Tantei´s house! Without him!

"Traitor!" The teen roared once again, glaring at the screen. "How could you?" The shock and wrath were starting to take over. Why was Tan, off all doves, with Shinichi, while Kaito sat there, rotting with jealousy? Nope, he would not allow it. Over his dead body!

Making said decision, Kuroba Kaito leaped from the window, completely forgetting his meeting with Aoko. And that´s how Kudo Shinichi ended stealing a dove from Kaito… and gaining a new, apparently permanent, resident in his mansion. Because, as Kaito, said, he wasn´t leaving until he made sure there was no competition…

A week later, Shinichi still wondered what this was all about, as he gently petted the white dove, and Kaito glared at them for some reason…

A/N: In poirotcafe, we have a Daily Random Word Prompts, and I decided to join since I was bored at class and needed something to keep me alive. And I chose the word dove. Another caught my attention, but that one requires more time and planing, since its more serious...
