G had no idea why Kensi dragged him to the drugstore at 7 in the morning on the day after Valentine's Day. She did promise him breakfast.

Not that he had anything better to do. He has been awake for the last 3 hours. He knew that Sam was a little busy for their morning run. So, he walked and walked until Kensei called insisting that she needed him.

Turned out she needed extra hands for her sweep of the after Valentine's Day candy sales. .

"NO!" She said as she grabbed the bag from his hand put back on the shelf

"What in the…?!" He said in confusion.

"Sweethearts are ban from this shopping cart. They were good until some idiot changed them. Now, they tasted like crap."

He blinked at her.

"Uhhh…okay."

He looked down at her other choices. Well…it wasn't too bad, he guessed. Although, he wasn't sure what she was going to do with all of these jellybeans.

"You can't have them, Callen," Kensi said as she dropped a bag of sweethearts into the basket.

"I'm more of a gummy worm man, myself. What are you doing with this candy?" He said as he waved his hand at the buggy.

"Part of it is for Sam's Easter Hunt. He complained every year that he doesn't have enough candy. Jellybeans are still jellybeans no matter what the color. Part of it is for me. I save it through the entire year. Easter has those god awful Peeps then isn't a good candy holiday until October. I have my issues with candy corn," She explained.

"Candy Corn?"

"It like a piece of wax mixed with sugar. Urgh…then Deeks go on this rave about how peanuts and candy corn are the best thing ever. I'm twitching just thinking about it."

He pressed his lips together. He knew the better than to ask or saying anything.

"So…your date…" He asked.

"It was great," She snapped.

His eye brow arched slightly at her tone and body language. She blinked at him then sighed.

"It was terrible and I had to escape. I had to call Nell for an escape plan."

He chuckled and she hit his shoulder.

"No laughing. Beside, what did you do?" She asked.

He shrugged his shoulders.

"I walked around town."

She stared at him like Hetty did sometimes like they were trying to figure him out. He didn't understand why. It was just another day with candy.

"You know…Dad and I never did Valentine's Day either. We did the day after. We go to the school and buy all of the 50 percent off candy. We tried to sneak in some surprises for each other. It was great. Maybe, that is why I do this every year."

"It sounds like a great memory."

"It is."

"Now, don't tell Deeks about this or my terrible date. There will be gloating about something he did last night. It probably something do with that lady in his yoga class," She said with the wave of her hand.

He wasn't going to touch the whole Deeks and Kensi thing with a ten foot pole. He did take part in the betting pool with Sam, Nell, and Hetty.

She smiled a little.

"Thanks."

"You are welcome."

"Here…you can have these," She said as she set a box of candy with a cartoon character.

He blinked for a moment then laughed.
