Sakura stared down at the little bundle in her arms and did her best to not melt. Of course, a baby Kakashi made that a difficult task, especially now that she had seen his face. He was adorable, and even more importantly he was her son. Apparently Kakashi Hatake had been too important to the time line to not have been born. Within his little baby face, she could see the makings of the man he had become in her own time.

However, if Sakura had her way, the little baby in her arms would never experience the hurt the man from her own time had. She knew it was an unreasonable idea, but Sakura was a mother now and that's what mothers did; hope for the best for their children.

As Kakashi began to fuss, Sakura began to bounce him, making soothing noises in an attempt to quiet him. When that didn't work, she tried nursing him, and luckily that did work. When he was finished she quickly burped him, and then checked his diaper. Sure enough there was a small surprise waiting for her, which resulted in a quick change.

As she finished Sakumo, quietly entered the room, looking more than a little bit haggard. If she hadn't known any better she would have thought it was HIM who had gone through thirteen hours of labor, and not herself. Keeping her voice low she asked "Are you okay?"

He nodded, before scrubbing his face with his hands "I'm done."

"Done with what?"

"Baby proofing the house, cleaning the house, setting up the nursery, and washing all the linens."

Sakura smiled, Sakumo was officially in new dad mode. In fact he had been in new dad mode since he found out she was pregnant. He had kept a watchful eye over her, handled most of the household chores, and attended every doctor's appointment with her. He was excited at the prospect of being a dad, he was also obsessed with doing it perfectly.

Sakura didn't have the heart to tell him that they were both only human. They would make mistakes. Despite her hopes and determination Kakashi would get hurt. They lived in a cruel world where happiness was often times fleeting. Sakura, however, was determined to soak in every happy moment.

Standing up Sakura tucked Kakashi into the sling, while Sakumo grabbed her bag and they began the journey home.

That night as she rocked Kakashi back to sleep after his nightly feeding, and Sakumo snored lightly beside her she said her prayer, swearing to herself that Kakashi's childhood would be different this time.

This is a short chapter I know. However, I feel as though toddler Kakashi is going to be a ton of fun to write. So please look forward to that. See you soon, and check out my oneshot No Uchiha Babies ever, if you haven't already!
