Stuff you may want to know before reading:

In my world Taiga Kagami is the youngest of six children. He has four older sisters and one older brother. The closest one to him in age is 26. His older sisters are of the age 39, 32, 29, and 26. Taiga's oldest sister is a housewife with three children, his second oldest sister is a costume designer and married. Taiga's third sister is a famous BL manga artist and is going out with a girl (after numerous refusals from Alex), Taiga's fourth sister is a cosplayer and is the fiancé of a college football star. Taiga's only brother is 38 years old and with a pregnant wife. The older brother is considered useless by the Kagami sisters. Since he was young, Taiga was shoved around and tricked by his sister's to do what they want (cooking, dressing up, modeling for comic strips, etc.) cue Taiga's bluntness with crying women (his sisters always tricked him through crocodile tears). Taiga looks like his mother (eyebrows and all) but has his father's personality. His mother is a French chef with restaurants open internationally, she likes making him cry in fear. Taiga's father is a sympathetic man who makes horror movies. Taiga's dad ditched moving in with Taiga to go on a love cruise ship with Taiga's mother. Alex and Tatsuya have met the Kagami family and try to avoid them.

This takes place after Seirin's win against Rakuzen.

Snow and ice and Taiga + Papa

The neighborhood is covered in white. At first, Taiga had thought the world was ending. Never before has he seen the ground and houses covered in white. Nothing was spared and everything was closed. Even the most popular shopping and eating places were closed. So it's a given that Taiga would rush into his parents room screaming that they need to get up and leave.

"Go back to sleep" his mother grumbled as she rolled over.

Taiga gaped at her in astonishment "b-but-"

"I'll go check it out" his father responded as he gave a tired grin. Flipping the mountain of covers off him, the man stood up from the bed and stretched.

Taiga's mom rolled once more to curl up into his father's warm spot, "just snow" she hissed tiredly before releasing a soft exhale of breath.

"Did you try to go out?" Taiga's father asked with a smile as he led Taiga out of the bedroom.

Taiga gasped and looked up at his father, "go out?!" he asked in a loud voice.

Papa chuckled as he patted Taiga on the head, "good, papa wants to show you something".

"Show me what?" Taiga asked with as much attitude an eleven year old could manage.

Papa just smiled indulgently and patted Taiga on the head. "I want to show you the beauty of snow".

Taiga glared at his father and crossed his arms as his father opened up a closet near the door. Catching the coat tossed at him, Taiga scrunched his nose up as he held the coat away from him.

"Put it on" Papa grins and puts his own coat –an exact replica of Taiga's in everything but size- and grabbed another bundle of cloth out of the closet before closing it.

Taiga wormed his way into the overstuffed jacket and glared at his father. "Why is it so fluffy?" he asked.

"To keep you warm" his father replied before tucking a hat upon Taiga's head.

Taiga wiggled at the itchiness of the hat as his father placed his own hat –another exact replica in a larger size- before tossing a pair of child mittens at Taiga.

"Try to avoid the ice" Papa said as he flexed his now gloved hands.

Taiga stared numbly at his father, "ice?" he asked. His father pouted for a moment before smiling widely at Taiga, "ice is dangerous" he warned "think hail!" his father then cheered in delight.

Taiga just stared at the man in horror as the front door was opened and Taiga found himself shoved into a pile of freezing snow that rivaled his height.

At that moment, Taiga decided he hated this snow, ice, cold and whatever else may come with it. Taiga, is really not a kid made for the winter season, basketball airings be damned. It is cold and damp and Taiga is counting the days until he is back in L.A.

/

Kagami hates the cold. He hates winter and everything that is associated with it. To his defense he could claim that he never lived in a cold environment –the nights in L.A. do not count- but he distinctively remembers a time at his grandparents' house when he first came across of snow.

Snow, the thing that closes school and shuts down businesses. It was a horrible creation of Mother Nature and it brought an even more dangerous subsist with it. Ice. Kagami remembers al the brutal winters he was forced to experience at his grandparents' home and snow was always accompanied by cold, hard ice. Ice, ice, ice. There were not enough words in any language to describe Kagami's hatred of winter.

It's one of the reasons why he stayed in L.A. when his dad was filming in the Russia.

But that's not relevant right now. He was in japan now and it is winter time. Which wasn't that horrible until it started snowing.

Two months into the freezing season and Kagami had yet to see any sign of snow. Of course it was brutally cold and Kagami had to dress in ridiculous amounts of layers to avoid the cold. All in all, this season of winter in Japan wasn't that bad yet.

So like all things in his life, Kagami's semi-positive outlook on the season had to be ruined. By snow and the Generation of Miracles. Because-

"Kagamicchi!" Kise cried loudly as he leapt onto Kagami's thickly covered back.

-neither could leave him alone.

Kagami sighed as he pulled on his sleeves as he pondered over a logical reason as to why he allowed a part of the Generation of Miracles into his apartment. And Kagami still felt the cold he had experienced when allowed the trio entrance. Even though he was inside a heat controlled room, Kagami still felt the cold air that hung around Kise and the others.

"Get off him" Aomine growled as he grabbed Kise's collar. Kise struggled in Aomine's grip, hands moving wildly as he was choked by his own shirt.

One of the blonde's hand grazed Kagami's neck earning a yelp of surprise and shock.

"Kagami-kun?" both Aomine and Kise screamed as Kuroko materialized in front of Kagami. Of course, Kagami didn't notice as he was curled up into a ball of shivering clothes.

Curling up some more, Kagami didn't bother to try to stop his chattering teeth as he harshly whispered to Kuroko. "It's cold".

"Are you okay?" Kise worriedly asked as he approached Kagami slowly.

Aomine snorted as Kagami gave another stuttering, quiet response, "don't be an idiot. Does Kagami even look okay? He's-"

"Cold" Kuroko interrupted making the duo jump in shock once again. They had forgotten Kuroko was there again.

Silence consumed the trio –Kagami not counted for he was still shivering from the cold touch- and Kuroko sighed heavily.

"Kagami-kun said that its cold" Kuroko repeated.

Kise gaped at Kuroko, "Ehh!? He said that?! When?!"

"Do you not like the cold?" Aomine asked as he knelt down next to Kagami's curled body.

Kagami nodded as he leaned away from Aomine's cold body and mumbled his response: "I hate this season".

"Even the snow?" Aomine frowned as he asked and scooted closer to Kagami's shivering warm body.

Kagami hissed as Aomine's cold air once again crept closer. "Especially the snow" he growled in vehemence before whispering "and the ice".

"Why!?" Kise shouted in surprise, moving around Kuroko to get closer to Kagami's crouched form. "But-but we get snow days if it snows a lot! And all couples go to the ice rink!" Kise whined.

Aomine patted Kagami's back as he nodded his head in agreement "I can relate to you" he told Kagami.

"Why?!"Kise cried out in disbelief.

Kuroko laid a heavy hand on Aomine's shoulder to pull the other away from Kagami. "Its because they're basketball idiots" Kuroko said as he glared at Aomine before sitting in the spot Aomine was previously in.

"Tetsu!" Aomine roared as Kuroko took the spot he was originally in.

Kise pouted before smiling brightly at Kuroko, "Oh I get it!" he snapped his fingers in delight and realization. "Aominicchi and Kagamicchi can't play basketball if it snows!" he crooned in delight before frowning in disappointment.

Aomine growled at the blonde, "you-"

"Yes" Kuroko interrupted Aomine again and laid his head upon Kagami's shoulder "it also gets darker outside quicker than it does in the summer" he reasoned.

Kagami shivered at Kuroko's touch.

Outside, the wind howled as it battered against the apartment's windows. Even though they were inside a heated room, the group shivered together as the lights started to flicker and the wind speed up.

"What are we going to do about the meeting with Akashicchi?" Kise whispered in horror, "didn't we agree on going out to the movies today? With him and Kagamicchi?"

Kagami brought his head up to look at Kise, "what would Akashi do if we were not to show up?" he asked, somewhat already knowing the answer.

"Nothing good" Kuroko firmly responded immediately.

"We can't just not go!" Kise said in disbelief.

Aomine raised an eyebrow at Kagami, "you already know that answer".

Kagami groaned. Seems like he would have to go out into the raging snow storm after all.

A/N:

Okay, I lied when I said the next update should be in early March. I didn't mean too because I truly thought I would update early March. Its far from early March and I am now updating. Truth be told, I forgot about this story because of my inbox full with comments on my TG fics.

But no worries! I am so close to being officially back on the KnB wagon. Except, I think I boarded the KiKasa ship instead of the GOM/Kagami ship…. So don't be surprised if my next update involves Kasamatsu somehow~

Also, this chapter is basically me taking out my weather problems on Kagami. I remember living in the most southern parts of Texas for a long time. I never experienced snow until I had moved to Rhode Island. Talk about culture shock. I didn't even know that the temperature can get below 70 degrees at that time!

Thanks for your patience!
