Arc: The Traveling
Days Given: 18 days
Hiccup couldn't believe his eyes. He was sure that Dagur died when he fell in the ocean and then being devoured by sea creatures. But no matter how hard he rubbed his eyes, Dagur was still there, grinning madly at him like he knew the darkest secret known to man.
"What? Are you guys just gonna stand there and gawk at me?" Dagur cackled as he swayed left and right while being tied up. "Don't tell me you forgot our little adventure already? We had so much fun back then!"
"F-f-fun?!" Astrid hissed as she tried to storm towards their captive before she was stopped by the others holding on to her arms. "Do you have any idea how much pain we've been through just to get that stupid dagger?!" Astrid shouted as the grip on her tightened.
Dagur only cackled even more when he saw how angry Astrid was. "Of course! That was the best fun I ever had! Before you arrived, the only fun I ever had was feeding children to dragons while their parents watched! And you know what makes it funnier?! Dragons don't even like meat! After feeding them the dragons start vomiting and the sounds they made were like music to my ears!"
Fishlegs couldn't take it anymore and ran towards the side of the ship and started heaving before the others could hear something splashing towards the sea. Snotlout, who sat down, actually closed his eyes, covered his ears and then rocking back and forth. The twins, the ones who were holding Astrid, only closed their eyes and looked away from the monster.
Astrid was now seeing red and was trying really hard to get away from the twins when from the corner of her eyes she saw something whiz beside her straight towards Dagur.
Dagur grunted as Hiccup's mechanical hand decked him on the face with as much force as he could. Dagur coughed and spat out some blood before turning back to Hiccup with a bloody grin on his face.
"What's the matter, boy? Can't take a little joke?" He cackled once again, spits of blood flew out of his mouth and splashing everywhere. "You are still too soft, boy! No wonder Drago finds you a joke!"
Before Hiccup could continue with his assault, he paused. "Wait, say that again?"
Dagur's grin only widened. "Hoh? Did you two meet already? He was supposed to be the patient one. Whatever, doesn't matter now, does it?"
Hiccup narrowed his eyes as he stomped to where Dagur was currently tied, the other teens were still distracted by what Dagur said so he Hiccup was able to get close.
"Who's Drago? Why does he want the dagger?" Hiccup demanded and when Dagur just laughed at him, he kicked him to the ground.
"Hiccup! Stop!" Astrid shouted. Now free from the twins, they were currently stunned from what Hiccup did, Astrid ran towards Hiccup and held him off. "Don't do anything rash!"
"Come on Hiccup!" Dagur shouted back as he tried to stand up only to trip on his feet and smashed his face on the deck. "What's the matter?! Don't you want to get answers?! Pathetic! No need to hold back!" Blood continued to flow from his mouth, smearing the deck with his blood. "Hit me! HIT ME!"
Astrid's hold on Hiccup was starting to weaken so she turned her head back to the twins "Tuff! Ruff! Get this madman away from he and throw him below the deck and lock him up!" She turned back to Hiccup and forced him to look her in the eye. "And you, stay calm please! Don't let rage cloud your mind! You're better than that! Please Hiccup, I need you to calm down." The last part she whispered to help ease out the tension.
Both teens could still hear Dagur's laughter as the twins dragged him across the deck towards the lower decks and when they went inside and closed the door behind them, silence filled the room and leaving everyone above deck at peace.
Hiccup closed his eyes and breathe in deeply. The tightness on his shoulders sagged and he hugged Astrid tightly, burying his face on her shoulder releasing a ragged breath.
Astrid closed her eyes as well as she returned Hiccup's hug and started swaying left and right.
"I-I'm sorry..." Hiccup whispered as his hold on Astrid tightened, as if he would lose her if he let go.
"Shhh... it's ok... I know you didn't mean to do what you did."
"B-but I wanted to..." He cut himself off, not wanting to finish the sentence.
"We both did. It doesn't matter now. He's gone. Don't worry, Legs and I shall interrogate him later. You had a rough day today." Astrid pulled back just enough to be able to press a kiss on his forehead. "Why don't you go back to our room and rest, ok? We'll deal with everything else up here."
"B-but..."
"No buts." She shook her head while leading Hiccup back to their room. "For now, let me handle things here, ok?"
Hiccup nodded his head while he went inside the room and sat at the corner of the bed. After Astrid closed the door, Hiccup flopped back down on the bed, covering his face with his hands as he released a sigh.
Silverwing, noticing Hiccup's sadness, flew down from her perch and nuzzled Hiccup on the side of his head. Hiccup smiled and started petting the bird to try and ease his nerves.
"Hey Legs, you ok?" Astrid asked as she rubbed the back of the burly viking teen.
"Y-y-yeah... I'm good, I'm good." Fishlegs breathed as he leaned on the railings on the side of the ship, trying to catch his breath. "Man, I've never been so disgusted in my life."
Astrid sighed as she massaged her temples "Yeah, sorry about that. As he said earlier, that was Dagur. You know, the one we told about when we met with Cali and Thuggory."
"Oh, yeah! The one with the market right?"
"Yeah, that's the one. Hiccup and I really thought that he died there. I mean, he fell in the sea and blood was everywhere. Anyway, let's go down and interrogate him."
Fishlegs' gripped tightened as he wrapped his arms around the railings. "W-w-wait, we are actually going to talk to that guy?!" He squeaked. If he had it his way, he would rather NOT go near to that psychopath for the rest of his life.
Astrid groaned "Come on Legs. You are the only one I trust enough to not do anything stupid and not get antagonized by Dagur. He may look crazy but he is not stupid. The fact that he was able to enter the ship undetected proves that. Now, come on."
"Ok, ok!"
So yeah, the chapter is shorter than usual because I want to know if you guys STILL want to read my story.
