One Word Prompt: Submarine
Mirandy
Quickly shedding her coat, Andy blew out a puff of air before hanging it up and making her way upstairs. She was a little later than she wanted, but should still be in time to say goodnight to her toddler.
"…live next door, and the band begins to play…" Miranda's voice floated towards her, and Andy scrunched her nose.
"What on earth?" She murmured, before suddenly loud screeching belted from their daughter's room.
"We all live in a yellow submarine! A yellow submarine! A yelloooow submarineee!"
A smile split across her face, and she bit her lip to keep from laughing before she reached the bedroom doorway.
Peaking in, she watched as Miranda laughed at their daughter yelling the chorus again, then began to sing, "As we live a life of ease, every one of us has all we need-"
"Has all we need!" Andy jumped in, grinning widely as Miranda jumped in her seat.
A white head swiveled to glare at her, and a mouth opened to reprimand her, when their daughter beat her to it, "You scare Mommy!" She giggled, a toothy smile on display as she stood up in bed and bounced a little, "Momma!"
Stepping forward, she gathered her three-year-old into her arms. Hugging her close, she pressed a few kisses to her cheeks, "Hi, Lucy. Were you having fun singing with Mommy?" She asked, running her fingers through soft, short hair.
As Lucy gave a squeal in reply, Andy chuckled and captured Miranda's lips for a sweet kiss, "Good evening, my love. I'm sorry to have startled you." She wasn't… not really… but better hit the punch before she let Miranda stew in her grumpiness.
Her wife huffed a little, but didn't purse her lips, so Andy knew she wasn't in the doghouse.
"Momma! Sing wif us! Sing!"
"The itsy bitsy spider, went up the water spout."
"No!" Lucy giggled, "Sing Beatles!"
"All you need is love," Andy sang, smiling and pressing butterfly kisses to her daughter's cheeks, marveling at the happy noises Lucy made, "all you need is love."
"And some sleep." Miranda said, standing from her seat, and carefully squishing Lucy between them, "So let's get you into bed, my darling, because Momma and Mommy need some sleep as well."
Lucy pouted, but acquiesced quickly, kicking her legs to get put down.
Andy obliged, and Lucy scrambled beneath her blankets, "Night, Mommy! Night, Momma!"
Miranda smiled, "Good night, Lucy." She leaned down and pressed a kiss to Lucy's forehead.
"Good night, sweetheart," Andy said, copying Miranda's actions, "and we'll have a big breakfast tomorrow before going to the park."
Lucy beamed, "We can p'etend we live in yellow submarine!"
Andy laughed, and smiled, "We sure can. I bet we could even get Mommy to play!"
"Yaay! Mommy play!" Lucy squealed before snuggling down.
"That's right, sweetheart," Andy tucked the blankets around Lucy, ignoring the blatant glare she was receiving from her wife. Miranda loved playing with their daughter… but not when it involved going to the park and having to wear a lower heel.
Pressing one last kiss to Lucy's head, Andy stood up straight and took hold of Miranda's hand, giving it a squeeze as they walked from the room, "Sweet dreams." Miranda said.
"Don't let the bed bugs bite!" Andy added, as she shut off the light and lead the way to the master bedroom.
She had her own plans to make Miranda sing, and she was gonna love going down under to get the best results.
A/N: hehe... and one more! Yay!
Mmm. Andy's thinking dirty. Lol. :)
