It's been 2 years... I'm sure it's not as soon as anyone had hoped but here it is, Chapter 11. I'm not gonna even try to promise any kind of time expectations for the next chapter cause we've seen what happened last time. I do encourage you to reread ch.10, or not you know it's your life, if you wanna be confused about where we are in the story that's all you, hon. Enjoy! And don't forget to leave a review, I do so enjoy reading them. Might make the next chapter come out faster next time. Who knows?

Her eyes open to a dark, wet, underbelly of the human trade industry. Water that smells of piss and shit among other things splash at her ankles. The stench fights with the smell of the ocean, making the ship's movement that much more nauseating. She's being shipped to another world. There were only stories she's heard of people being transported like cargo. However, Asami hadn't thought she would ever have one her own. The night she and Korra spoke of lost chances was the last time they had seen each other. Asami is beginning to think that would be the last time she will ever see Korra.

They had come swift with the night, clinging to Helios' shadow. Silhouettes of soldiers combing through the ghettos near Asami and Korra's hideout, taking bodies as they slept. That night Asami stayed up, restless from her and Korra's earlier conversation. She decided it would be best to get some air on the roof of the abandoned building. Space and time for herself is something she noticed she hadn't gotten in awhile. Korra probably needed her space too.

Having been behind a taller abandoned building, there wasn't much of a view. Once the sun took what little light there was left with it, Asami witnessed their slow yet violent assault on a small family living in the building across from her. They seemed to have come from nowhere. Hearing a shriek not too far from where she was, she tore her eyes away from the horror to see where it had come from. Her eyes panned the horizon's limits. There was no where she could look that didn't have one of "them", and that's when she knew it was an invasion. The slum village was crawling with them, those Daimonas. Silent, almost impossible to detect, yet their power- It's a combination that put a new kind of fear in the world for Lady Sato. Their timing and execution was uncanny, supernatural even.

Before she could even grasp the full situation, her legs made for the straightest line back down to the lower floor, to Korra. She had hoped she wouldn't still be in the mood she left her in, so they can get away from those things, and quick. Her suffocating state of paranoia made every little noise an attack. The amount of time she had to get to Korra is cut in half with every step. She had reached the ground level. She saw Korra huddled, in a corner, just the way she left her. She wasn't safe yet. Twilight spills through the opening in the wall leaving enough illumination in the room to see the three and a half walls that had protected them for that moment. She made her way for Korra, but then she heard a sound. It was like small rocks being knocked together; rubble turning. There was a figure in the half wall blocking the light, it had caught her eye, only for an instant. The last thing she saw was Korra turning from her solitude. Asami's hands and ankles were caught and forced behind her. She fell to the ground, bagged and dragged away in one swift motion.

"Korra, run! You can not fight them." Asami's voice was high pitched and breaking, which made her words all the more significant to Korra. Not so much what they actually meant but rather how afraid Aami must have been to think even the Avatar, trained or not, could not stand a chance. How low Asami must have felt infuriated Korra so much. She tries going into the Avatar state but nothing happens..

Now two weeks malnourished and literally sitting in her own filth, Asami is and has been planning escapes again and again. All this free time she's been having is used either thinking of an escape attempt or what happened to Korra or both. Thinking of finding out where she is, fighting through armies to find her, and then finally a passionate reunion. Her favorite being taking control of the ship and holding the ones with the most information hostage. She'd question each one until she got something to work off of. She'd maroon her abductors on some uninhabited island, and sail to find the Avatar. Except she remembers what she said to Korra the night everything happened.

What if Korra wasn't captured at all? What if she got away and was free to do whatever she felt like doing. Then she thought,

"What if she doesn't care that I'm captured and being shipped off to Spirits know where to do Herah knows what?"

Without any evidence to the matter Asami begins to feel abandoned and forgotten about. However, she feels she deserves not to get saved by the person she's been insulting and toying with.

"Why have I been toying with her? Why am I worried about it? Does this mean I am genuinely interested in this person? Or am I attracted to her power? What made me choose this gladiator over the other crowd favorites? Was it her title? Oh how hopelessly naive of me, save the avatar and everything will be alright in the world again." She thinks to herself and then she imagines Korra's crooked smile, which stemmed off into the thought of how witty she can be and how strong she is.

"Maybe…" she thinks while staring at her chains, binding her.

Before she had seen the Avatar battle in the arena, her life regularly consisted of meetings and dealing with her father's reputation. Finding out that the Avatar line has in fact continued, and factoring in all that has happened, gives her hope. A type of hope that is how she put it, naive.

"The spirit that allows the Avatar to control all four elements, Raava, chose that woman to carry on the now crumbling Avatar line for a reason. There's no way I would take my faith from that." she thinks.

The sound of chains releasing and something dropping into the ocean disrupts the quiet among those below deck. A soft chatter between those who could bring themselves to speak. They say that they have stopped, but that it doesn't sound like they have stopped at a port.

"They must be getting ready to trade off. Wouldn't want the same ship to hold all of the cargo the entire way in pirate infested waters." She thinks. Although she trusts nothing but her intuition there's no telling what's going on up there. The only interaction she and the rest of the captives have had with the crew is when their chains come to life and haul them all in a line to get fed. This crew doesn't seem to communicate like a typical ships crew. No redundant bellows of orders or any slang. A ship of ghosts. The door that separates them from the rest of the world started to unlock and open. A man dressed in dark green fabrics, sleek and dress like, raises his hand and all the chains and the people connected to them are being lifted off the ground and moved forward, following him above deck.

Asami's assumption was right, they have stopped in the middle of the ocean, with only one other smaller vessel. It is definitely built for speed; long narrow body, wide crimson sails.

"Pirates. Though this is too calm for this to be a robbery." Asami thinks. She has heard of cases where a ship's entire crew and its cargo had gone missing, leaving the ship to drift the waters until crashing ashore. There were some that said it was the spirits but she knew better.

"They must be working together. So is it a drop off or a pick up?" she asks herself. Just as her thought passes, a ramp is extended to their ship.

"Alright you horny fucks! Take your pickings." a roar of people rush onto the ship. Those dangling from their chains started screaming and crying. They crowd around the weakest and grope those who are visibly disturbed. Asami catches a groups eye.

"Oh look-see here. This one looks fresh. Hey Ati, she's just your type." says an older man as he nudges the young woman next to him. She walks around examining- rather appreciating Asami's body.

"Oh Deniz, you've always had an eye for beauty." She says as she gently sways her hand in a dancing motion. Asami is shocked when she feels cold water cascade down her back. Making her back straighten up and her chest out. The woman Ati comes back around and does the same to her front. Asami watches Ati watch the water make the fabrics cling to her body. If her hands weren't bound she would rip the accomplished smirk off her face. Which is when she realizes her feet are still dangling. Asami wraps her ankles around Ati's neck and pulls her into a lock. Both ships crews grew hostile but Ati holds up her hands and everyone stops moving. Asami notes this.

"Beautiful and feisty. Tonight's going to be interesting." She nods to one of her men, he stuns Asami with a punch to the gut, knocking her out. She dangles in the chains like a rag doll.

"We'll take those five," Ati looks at Asami once more, "and this one." The chosens chains are released. Asami hits the deck like a pile of rocks. Ati scoops her up, and begins to walk back to her ship.

"I don't need your protection, Korra."

"I didn't say that, I just - if something happens-"

"You'll what? Be on the run again?" Asami says as she pulls a dark hood over her face

"I need to be there."

"I don't understand. We barely know each other. "

"You're not listening these people won't hesitate to kill you!" Korra says turned away as she fails to contain her frustration. With a cold mist coming from her mouth, Korra forces her primitive instincts to die down.

"I'm the one in control." She reminds herself.

"I'll be back in the morning." Asami says as she starts preparing a bag of food.

"Fine." She turns her head in Asami's direction, hoping the expression on her face would convince her not to go. Asami shakes her head as she races her nerves out of the small room. Korra grabs her arm just as she's passing her.

"And if you don't come back, what then?" Korra's voice is soft. Asami doesn't reply, instead she bites her lip.

"What then?" Korra asks moving Asami's hood out of her eyes. She strokes her cheek.

"That's my point, Avatar," she slaps Korra's hand away, "don't worry about it." She pushes past Korra and continues her march up the stairs for some air.

Her body is sore and stiff. She thinks she feels the rhythm of the waves and anticipates their movement and begins to rock her body in her subconscious until, she falls to a very still floor. A bodacious laughter erupts from across the room.

"Oh- Habibti," she lets out a slight laugh, again, "I didn't realize he hit you so hard. I believe I'm capable of getting you a chance to repay the favor." she puts down a bowl of something steaming to help Asami off the floor. However, Asami pulls her down into a choke hold. Still struggling to get a good grip, Asami wraps her legs around Ati's torso. Her arms tighten, cutting off Ati's air way. The woman's legs start to flail. She kicks the leg of the table that is holding the bowl of hot liquid - was holding the bowl of hot liquid. Now it's all over them. Asami yells in pain, as Ati attempts at something meant to be a scream but Asami's grip did not waver. In fact, it got tighter. Ati's feet are still kicking things and making noise, two others come through the door and rush to Ati's side. Ati raises her hands like she did on the ship before, and they stopped. Ati then slaps her hands on the floor. To Asami's disbelief the woman is picking them both off the floor. She then grabs Asami's arm and forces it open freeing her from the choke hold. Asami's legs are still wrapped around her waist, so Ati throws her around her body so that now they're face to face. That over confident smirk is back. Asami doesn't appreciate it. She tries to hit Ati with her other hand but she catches it. They stare into eachother's eyes for a moment, sending off an interesting standoff-ish vibe. The two who originally came to help Ati don't know what to do with themselves at this point.

"Go, watch the door will you. Lady Sato and I need to have a word." Ati says as if she knew how the others felt. She begins to lower Asami back onto the bed. Asami's eyes widened in the realization that she knew who she was. Ati, not letting go of Asami's wrists, pins them to the bed, and pins the rest of her down with her own body.

"You have no idea what I went through to make sure you weren't clustered with the rest of the stock." Ati's face took on a form of seriousness. Something Asami didn't think she was capable of.

"Oh, and I'm supposed to be grateful?" Asami says matching the woman's tone.

"That would be nice, actually, yes." Her grip on Asami tightens.

"How do you know who I am?" Asami says sounding vulnerable. Ati smiles, and picks her body up just enough to hover over Asami's. Her eyes follow Asami's body in an admiring manner. She leans down closer to Asami.

"Do you really think a beauty like you would come unnoticed?

One of the goons watching the door comes in, in a panic, then pauses at the sight of their position. Stammers over their words a few times.

"Well come on spit it out." Ati says annoyed.

"You are not meant to be here, are you?" Asami says. They stare. The room is quiet enough to hear the footsteps coming down the corridor. The room remains quiet until the footsteps stop in the threshold of the room.

"Atina has a new favorite, I see." says the woman in the doorway, as if she could see the scene unfold before her.

"I've told the child before that she can not choose them for her own personal gain. It's bad for business." She steps further into the room, her eyes trained on Asami. Looking for flaws and strengths. Things to exploit and build into her. She kneels down in front of Asami and examines her burns.

"Oil treatment, huh? I guess that's a good enough excuse for her to put her hands …" She smiles, laughing to herself." Asami watches her, not out of caution but because the woman's demeanor reminds her of someone. The woman stands up and begins to walk out of the room.

"Wrap her up, then throw her in the Dip." The woman's tone turns callous. Asami is picked up and restrained with shackles at the wrists and ankles. Asami recognizes the woman from the arena, she realizes. She would always be in the ditch with her fighters. Making sure they're at their best. A collector. Like a Domina, except this woman acquired her fighters without a transaction. She would have people taken from their homes, and tell them to fight for money at a fraction of the amount she receives.

Asami hears the seagulls, so they must still be near water. The entire structure is a mixture of wood or clay. Just before nudging her into a room, Asami spots a courtyard with balconies looking all of its sides. Just beyond the roofs of those balconies is a tall wooden fortress that Asami can only assume is the Dip.

Fatigue is gripping Lady Sato as she fights with her hunger. Someone slaps her only allowing her to be alert for a moment then she blacks out. By the time she wakes her burns are bandaged and she's in the middle of a wooden cylinder, chained to the ground like a dog. With each moment that passes Asami's rage concentrates into a deep disdain for anything and anyone in her proximity. When she first entered the Dip, the sun was directly above her; now the only light comes from the oil lanterns surrounding her.

The night is quiet. Asami hears the ocean crashing to the shore. The lights around her begin to dim, and then they burst into flames shattering the lamps, yet the flames still very much alive. Floating sparks of flame circle Asami and begin to move around her. In the midst of their movement she saw two figures appear. They're moving around her in the opposite direction of the flames. Asami notices that their hands are not empty. She does not ask them questions because she already understands her position. She's being conditioned into slavery. They are here to break her. It's obvious to her that someone is firebending, but the two people approaching her now have their hands full.

"Why would someone extend their concentration for one who is tied up?" She thinks to herself. However this is not the time for thinking. The two assailants are definitely closer than before. She's growing anxious the longer it takes for them to get into range. Her body quaking with pent up rage. They finally lunge for her and at the same moment. She maneuvered in a way that caused one of her assailants to free one hand with the swing of a machete. They recover faster than she expected. One grabs her free hand and pins it to her back. The other comes lunges at her with their weapon. She kicks the blade up, and head butts the one at her back simultaneously. She moves forward and takes the blade away from one of her attackers. She frees herself then turns to both of her attackers, blade ready and still, just as she was going to attack the flames are extinguished. Asami assumes it's from the bender.

"She's at it again." says one of the assailants. They shuffle off. She's left in the middle of the dip surrounded by quiet. She can feel her ears move to get every bit of sound possible, because now she's fighting blind. Which also means so is the firebender.

She uses her toes hoping to find something to throw, however, instead she finds another pair of toes. A small flame illuminates a bandaged face. Ati. She swipes at Asami with a hand engulfed in flame. She got close enough to singe Asami's cheek, and her hands just keep coming. She's got Asami on the defensive, backing her against the wall. Cornered with her guard still up, Asami dodges Ati's advancements the best she can. In the middle of one of Ati's swings, Asami ducks under it, freeing her from the corner. She pivots on her front foot to throw the other into Ati's gut. Her fire extinguishes again. Ati's heavy breathing tells Asami where she is. She kicks Ati behind the knee, causing her to kneel. Asami, facing the same direction Ati, puts her in a type of hold that has her bending backwards, but her arms are restrained in the front. She holds her, tightening her grip, until Ati passes in that instant, Asami passes out along side of her.
