Six Moons later
Greencough had came and went, but not without taking Thornclaw's life. It was very tragic and since his kits no longer needed Dovewing's milk, Kim kicked her out to raise the kits herself. Surprisingly she was more than happy to leave them because they weren't Tigerheart's.
Bramblestar was proud to make his kits warriors despite many of his lives were taken by the Greencough, and before they became warriors Bramblestar made Corey deputy of ThunderClan, bringing pride to all his friends.
Now there were many apprentices but no Queens in the Nursery, there was never a dull day in ThunderClan.
Trina couldn't of hated WindClan more if they dumped a bucket a cold water on her furry head. Four new warriors entered the warrior's den, including Onestar's kits that blatantly pushed around the older warriors including her and Mina.
And then there was Onestar's grandkits Cedarfleck and Ashspots, the former had caught Mina's attention and possibly her heart
In the passing moons, she realized that Hootcry liked her a lot and she told him to get lost and that she'd never be interested. He was heartbroken and she tried to get with Nick who rejected her time and time again.
When she saw both Fawndapple and Hollowheart were expecting Nick's kits, she was devastated. Onestar thought she was having a forbidden relationship with Nick but Mina made it clear that any relationship that had happened was all in Trina's head.
Trina lost it and in one of her worst moments in the dark of night, let a rogue that looked similar to Nick have his way with her. It'd turn out to be one of the worst decisions she's ever made.
"Falconwind! Quit eating all the lapwings!" Weaselfur snarled as she was eating her third one that day. "Just because we have no queens or elders doesn't mean you just chow down! Think about the apprentices!"
Trina growled and purposefully tossed the eaten lapwing in Weaselfur's face, walking away smugly till she felt a kick in her gut.
Ow! That, like, TOTALLY hurt!
She stomped over angrily to the medicine cat den and Sparrowclaw was the only one in there, surprised at her anger.
"Tell me why I just felt a kick in my stomach!" Trina demanded. "Why do you look so happy about that?!"
"We finally have more queens now." Sparrowclaw purred. "Falconwind, you're expecting kits. You're pregnant."
Trina's heart dropped, she couldn't be holding new lives in her belly! She never wanted kids unless it was with Nick, and she definitely didn't want any in this awful world.
"How do you get rid of them?!" Trina snapped. Sparrowclaw's delighted face fell into shock.
"You...don't..." Sparrowclaw gasped. "I never heard of a queen that wanted to get rid of her kits, having them is a wonderful experience..."
"To who?! Any cat that hates herself I'm sure!" Trina yelled at the horrified medicine cat. "I'll just jump into the river and-"
"You'll do no such thing!" Sparrowclaw snarled lividly. "Oakwhisker! Leaftail! Put her in the Nursery and guard her so she doesn't bring any harm to herself! It could hurt the kits!"
The two warriors were on each side of her, Leaftail slammed his paw into her head and suddenly everything was black.
Mina witnessed this and was relieved that her life in WindClan was much more fortunate as the highest ranking warrior second to the deputy, after all she had a huge knowledge of warriors that she used to her advantage when she could.
Also Featherfall's she-kit Tanglepaw became Mina's apprentice, the shy black she-cat with amber eyes felt perfect for her to mentor in the ways of a warrior.
And Heathertail's son was constantly making moves on her, looking at her intently and such. She thought that a more gentle tom would make it less obvious that he was checking her out, but it seemed Cedarfleck was more straight-forward than that.
But it seemed after he was made a warrior he shared fresh-kill with her and smiled warmly whenever she made a bad joke and he had an attractive deep voice. It almost seemed to good to be true.
But she wouldn't be knocked up with kits like Trina was. No, she would rather take her precious time enjoying everyday for what it was and becoming a better warrior each day till she decides that the time is just right and then take a mate.
Nick noticed once again that Rowanstar and Tigerheart had been glaring at him, and he very well knew why.
He saw the newest warriors Hazelgrace and Rainpelt look silently at him almost in fear as the former was carrying a vole to the warrior's den. Nick had already given the queens expecting his kits several frogs and hoped that'd due as he had just became a father.
He went into the Nursery and saw Fawndapple nursing two dark brown toms and a light brown she-kit while Hollowheart had a light gray she-kit and a dark gray and brown she-kit at her belly.
He was whispering soft words to the love-struck queens when he heard a loud sob from the warrior's den and sighed.
As a warrior in ShadowClan Nick had begun hooking up with she-cats left and right including the two sisters that had his kits, Kinkfur, and...Dawnpelt.
It had only been three times but that was enough to make Dawnpelt think he loved her the same way she loved him, which was unfortunately not true.
Nick genuinely didn't think he lead Dawnpelt on anymore than he did his other lovers, yet her reaction was much more different when she found out he had several lovers. She screamed at him, upset that he showed no regret for what he did.
She went blabbering to all of ShadowClan, and now by many in the Clan he was seen as a villain. He didn't think he was anything close to that, after all, what was the big deal mating with more than one she-cat?
After visiting his mates, he saw that the Clan hardly left anything on the fresh-kill pile but a mouse. He looked up and warriors flinched at his unwavering gaze.
ShadowClan will regretmaking Raggedstrike their enemy, they will.
"Soulblaze?"
Corey was coming back from a hunting patrol when he heard the leader cough his name. He dropped his catch and trotted over to the sick leader.
"Yes Bramblestar?" Corey asked gingerly.
"I'm...you know I have been on my last life." Bramblestar sighed, his eyes dull. "But you've told me you were once a twoleg, and that knowledge could be useful leading ThunderClan, so I made you deputy."
"It's been awesome." Corey purred. "Wait...you don't mean-"
"Yes, I do." Bramblestar meowed. "My time is running out."
"No! You can't be dying!" Corey gasped. "JAYFEATHER!"
Jayfeather walked in and Bramblestar told him to bring his kits as he was dying. Corey watched helplessly as all three of them gasped and ran to their dying father.
The whole Clan started to notice what was happening, and collected outside the den. Laney, Kin, and Kon went to Corey's side and Laney put her paw on Corey's.
"Thanks Lanes." Corey whispered. "Bramblestar?"
"Goodbye Soulblaze, lead this Clan with great honor." Bramblestar coughed before he rested his head on the ground and closed his eyes. The leader was finally dead.
"Soulblaze?" Corey heard his former apprentice now Burdenheart meow. "Does that mean I could have my name changed to Braveheart now?"
"Yes." Corey purred. "But first I must go with Jayfeather to receive my 12 lives."
"It's 9." Jayfeather growled. "And will you decide your deputy...?"
"Hmmm, hey Lanes! I mean, Adderpath." Corey corrected himself as he ran to his best friend. "Will you be my deputy?"
"Really?" Laney smiled and nodded. "I'd be honored."
"Awesome!" Corey yowled in excitement. "Let's go to make me a leader!"
Jayfeather took him to the Moonpool, and as Corey received his nine lives he wondered. Would he even be a good leader? It seemed like he hardly took anything seriously.
The cats chanting "Soulstar!" snapped Jayfeather out of his thoughts. Then they made it back to camp after Bramblestar's vigil.
"I have received my nine lives!" Corey yowled with delight as he entered the camp. "I am now Soulstar! And my deputy will be Adderpath!"
Laney joined Corey's side, and after he sent hunting patrols to prepare for a celebrating feast, she turned to him.
"Corey?" Laney whispered. "We have this...partnership now as leader and deputy of ThunderClan. Do you think-"
"That we should be mates?" Corey gave a goofy smile and shrugged. "Sure, why not my Lanes?"
Laney felt elated and pressed against him and gave a loud purr, even though they were cats, this moment didn't feel any less perfect to her.
Kon and Konnie gave their congratulations, with their son Cheesepaw doing the same before running off to play with the other apprentices.
This was a huge Clan for Corey and Laney to take care of, but it was clearly fate. And they would do it together till their lives were spent.
