Chapter 2: City Mayhem/Here Comes Bats

It was 10 in the morning when Starfire announced that Speedy was here at the tower. Much to Robin's distaste, Speedy strolled in and draped his arm around her shoulders. The couple looked incredibly happy and content with their lives.

I was happy for them.

I could feel anger burning away in Robin but chose to ignore it. Today was about Star and Speedy I wasn't going to let their happy day be ruined, but as much as I wish it would be happy for me I knew Robin had plans for it not to be.

I sighed and turned back to the stove to turn off the burner and take the whistling kettle off. I poured the boiling water into my mug so that the tea bag would start steeping. Cy snuck three spoonfuls of sugar into my tea. He was the only one who knew I liked it sweet enough to calm the bitter bite to my tea. Beast Boy had tried a couple of times but could never get it right, he either made it too sweet or not sweet enough.

Star babbled away to the others while Speedy and Beast Boy talked about video games. I looked at Cy and he winked at me before tilting his head towards the door signaling that now was the best chance for me to slip away. I took the tea bags out, grabbed my mug, and slipped out the door while Cy distracted Robin. Ever since that night nearly a month ago, Cyborg and Beast Boy never let a chance where I was alone around a very capable Robin arise. I was very thankful for that.

Although there was a single slip up last week when Robin caught me in the hall and pinned me to the wall via his hand around my throat, this past month had flown by smoothly. Robin had scared me then. He told me to stay away from Starfire. Fortunately Speedy was in the hall, though he never said anything about it after words.

To my surprise Red-X hadn't shown up even once this past month. Part of me was thankful for it. I knew he wanted to know what happened to me but I didn't want him to know, just like how I never told Star. Yet the other parts of me yearned to see X, even if it was just a glimpse of him. Shockingly Robin never even noticed the missing blueprint from his files. Fortune had smiled upon me this past month.

I smiled closing the book I had been reading and placed it aside. I swallowed down the last sip of my tea and laid down on my bed looking up at the ceiling. My eyes closed and sleep took me for the next few hours.

When I woke up it was exactly 2 o'clock. My eyes widened and my emotions danced. I felt extremely rejuvenated. Something I hadn't felt in months.

Standing up I walked to my vanity and took myself in.

Due to the extensive healing I had to undergo, my hair now came down past my shoulders. My leotard was different, the sleeves were now cut off at my shoulders and a oval like cut out went from an inch below my chest to my waist line. I wore boots that came up to my thighs and had finger-less gloves that reached up to my elbows.

I liked it, loved it. Change was good. Change was bringing me some happiness, and everyone knew I needed that.

Grabbing my cloak off my bed and fastening it around my neck, I picked up my tea cup and walked out of my room.

Speedy had left an hour ago.

We were all hanging out in the common room. I was talking to Beast Boy when Star approached Robin.

"Friend Robin?"

"What is it Star?"

"Boyfriend Speedy has told me that you have told friend Raven to stay away from me. Is this true?"

Our heads shot up and stared at Star and Robin, eyes wide.

"Yeah Star. Speedy must have over heard me telling Raven to stay away because she hasn't been feeling well and I didn't want her getting us sick, especially you since you're Tameranian and we don't know how susceptible you are to viruses on Earth."

"Oh! Do not worry friend Robin I understand."

Such a fucking liar. Frowning I looked at Beast Boy and we went back to our game.

I was half way down the hall when a furiously enraged Robin started walking towards me. I slowed down my pace.

"Hello Raven."

Malicious intent oozed out of his mouth. This was not to be a friendly encounter. I had stopped and he walked closer to me. I thought he was going to pass right by me when pain shot through my upper left thigh.

He had cut me with a blade and it was still in me. I bit down on my bottom lip stifling the scream clawing at my throat. That's when Robin grinned and jerked his hand down. I could feel the blade slide deeper into my leg before the hilt broke off.

My eyes widened in shock as he threw the hilt down the hall then slammed my body into the wall. His hands flew up to my neck, grasping it tightly.

"I told you to stay away from Starfire. Something so fucking simple, but no you couldn't do that. You take your whoring self to Speedy and then he goes telling Starfire!"

His hands tightened over my throat, my vision starts fading out.

The alarm goes off and Cyborg with Starfire in tow come out of the common room in search of Robin.

"Robin, emergency!"

Star gasped and her hands raised to her mouth. Shock lined her frozen features.

"What the hell man!"

Next thing I know Beast Boy and Cyborg are pulling Robin off me.

"Rae are you..."

"I'm fine lets just go."

I started coughing for a brief minute before levitating myself off the floor. Summoning my powers I teleported us all to the T-Car. Cy drove Star, BB, and me to town leaving Robin to drive his R-Cycle.

I was sitting on the top of a ware house. I had just finished my heists for the day and now I was watching Killer Moth, Fang, and Cinderblock fight over this huge billion dollar rock. When Speedy came in and started super heroing. It was kind of funny.

Next thing I know a shiny T-Car pulls up. I watched carefully as Tin-man, Green-Bean, Red, and Sunshine unloaded the car. Seconds later Boy Blunder showed up.

This would be a show.

The team split up and went into the ware house. I hit my belt and teleported in.

It had been awhile since I had seen Raven. I found myself missing her. But then again I always missed her. Truth be told I had always had a thing for her. That night however made me realize that my feelings were more then a thing. I tried to keep away but my emotions only grew crazier.

"Not now Robin, not here. We have a job to do."

I furrowed my brow before I saw Robin holding Raven by the arm. She pulled away and ran off to meet the others. Robin looked pissed. I stayed in my spot in the shadows and watched on. I really wanted to rip his hands off for just touching her. They didn't have a thing did they?

"Cyborg you and Beast Boy take on Killer Moth. Starfire help Speedy out with Cinderblock. I'll take on Fang. Raven help out where it's necessary."

I frowned at Robin's suggestion at making Raven back up. She could take everyone here out including her own team in one hit if she wanted to.

That's when Adonis showed up from out of the blue. He started firing at Raven. She dodged everyone of his attacks but something was off. Why did she keep nursing her left leg? She should have been fully healed by now it had been over a month. Her energy flew out grabbing random objects and hurling them at Adonis. Each time missing him. Her aim was off to.

What was happening?

From the corner of my eye a small group of Killer Moth's mutated moths attacked Raven distracting her long enough for Adonis to go beast mode and start charging at her.

"Raven look out!" Beast Boy shifted into a T-Rex and went charging to her aid.

I hit the button on my belt and teleported mid jump in front of Raven. I threw some flash bombs at Beast Adonis and tackled Raven out of his path.

My body pinned her down, shielding her as the beast went to bring its claws down. Beast Boy intercepted it with his own claws in his own beast form. The only difference was that Beast Boy's beast was green.

The other Titans came running in as Killer Moth, Fang, and Cinderblock ran off escaping. Robin cursed seeming unhappy that Raven was the cause of this distraction. What the fuck was his problem anyway?

The fight between Beast Boy and Adonis was short lived. Beast Boy had him out fairly fast. Cyborg took a shot and stabbed it into Adonis's back which reverted him to human form.

Sighing deeply I took the hand Beast Boy offered to help me up.

"Thanks X." Beast Boy rubbed the back of his head.

"Anytime kid."

"Dude I'm not a kid anymore. I am 19 now!"

"Technically to me you are."

"What? How old are you then?"

"25."

The look on Beast Boy's face was priceless, I couldn't help but let out a chuckle causing his ears droop.

"If you keep helping us out like this man we're going to owe you for life."

I shrugged at Cyborg who chuckled in return. I wouldn't mind it, but only if it was Bird Boy serving out the sentences for what they owed me.

"What are you talking about?"

Speak of the devil.

I bent over to help Raven out. I couldn't help but stare at her knew uniform which showed her perfect figure. My eyes trailed down her body reaching her thighs and then my body went cold.

"What the fuck is this?"

I pointed at the shiny silver object poking faintly out of her blood soaked leg and glared at the others. To my shock they all hadn't known about it... well all but Robin. I caught a faint smile flicker across his lips. Anger gripped my body along with pure unadulterated hatred.

"Why don't we take this back to the tower."

I looked up at Cyborg and nodded. I picked Sunshine up gently in the bridal style fashion I had done a month ago and hit the teleportation button.

I placed Raven gingerly onto the couch in the Common Room and sat next to her until the others showed up. Throughout the wait my fingers tapped a soft thrum on my knee, catching the curious Black-Bird's attention. I couldn't help but flash a delighted smirk in payment for her attention.

Robin came in first. He was pissed. It was all in his body language. Taunt muscles, ridged stance, and the dancing shadows in his face portrayed that the Boy Blunder was ready to pounce. Good, let him be. Cyborg, Beast Boy, and then Starfire holding Speedy's hand came through the elevator doors after Traffic Light's storm.

A haunted look crossed Red's face as she turned to Cyborg.

"Is this about the thing that happened in the hall friend Cyborg?"

"Yeah Star."

Cyborg tried to smile at Starfire ... but it fell apart immediately.

"What happened?"

My voice came out harsh and Cyborg crossed his arms. I have a weary feeling that I would rather have had his movement been a reaction to my tone, but deep down I know it's not when his eyes become hard. It's not until he turns to Raven a few minutes later that his eyes become softer, commanding but none the less softer.

"I'm afraid only Raven can tell us that. Rea?"

I sighed sitting from my position on the couch before standing up. Pain shot through my body and I start to fall. X was instantly to my side wrapping an arm around my waist and giving me the other hand to grab. His body supported mine as he led me around the couch. Before I could protest or even acknowledge the movement, he's picking me up and carrying me over to a kitchen stool before setting me down.

"Uh... Thanks."

"No problem."

He turned to leave my side but I found my hand reached out of its own free will to grab his and pulled him back to my side.

Oooo I like this, this is very nice. Happy giggled in my head. I can agree with you I want this, I want him. Desire hummed in agreement. Mmm all the things we could do... Lust purred seductively.

My goddess my emotions were going to kill me!

My face heated up as a blush crept across my cheeks.

"If you wanted me to stay all you had to do was ask Sunshine."

I could feel his cocky smile spread across his lips as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I had to agree with my emotions. This was nice. I could definitely get used to this.

See I told you! Happy chimed in giggling away like a mad woman.

"Cough."

We all turned to the sound and froze. Standing in the corner of the room, the only corner with a light burnt out, was Batman.

"If you two are done being flirty?"

"Erm. Right."

I sat up straighter while my blush deepened. I was sure that I looked like a tomato by now.

A sexy seductive tomato... lust purred hotly.

"Robin stabbed me and broke the knife in my leg."

As everyone turned to Robin, the warmth that had taken it's home around my waist was gone being quickly replaced by coldness and a painful grunt. A grunt which did not come from me. All eyes stared wide at the scene sprawled out onto the floor. Red-X had pinned Robin with a secure knee to each leg as well as a strong hand wrapped around the neck. Surprisingly, or maybe not considering the man holding the spotlight at the moment, X had managed to trap Robin's left arm behind him while the right wasn't so lucky. In fact, Robin's right arm had been dislocated somewhere along the fall to the floor. Judging based upon the angle something had definitely broken as well.

Before things got too far I shouted,

"X!"

He looked around grasping the situation before his eyes met with mine from over his shoulder. With one fluid motion two tacky x's were placed upon Robin's torso and legs to keep him cemented to the floor. In another similar movement X snagged Robin's utility belt then pulled out another tacky x and sealed it over Robin's mouth. Finished with his work, he got up and returned to me.

"I'm fine."

X took off his mask and put it in my lap before examining my leg. He stroked a finger over the blade, that by now was, protruding out of my leg. His hand reached into a pouch on his belt and pulled out a thick looking pair of heavy duty tweezers. Without warning he pulled the whole blade out of my leg and pressed his free hand to the wound to apply pressure.

A scream ripped through my throat only to be cut off by tender lips crashing down against mine. My whole body went on pause. My emotions cheered happily at the attention. My eyes widened as I took in the pools of ice blue that were X's eyes. They were stunning. Three clear shades of blue that only Nature her self could create. They were the color of clear blue water lapping at a sandy beach with a burst of a smoky deep blue sky trapped under ice in the dead of winter over top while specks of bright blue lightening shined in his eyes. I found myself pushing back his kiss in return while tears from the now forgotten pain snaked their way down my cheeks.

AN:/ Sooo... Apparently this didn't post when I posted this the week after my AN post. Which by now has been years ago. I went to check today to see if anyone took bite to me wanting to know if anyone wanted to help edit or if anyone wanted more chapters. As well as if anyone left comments on Chapter two, aka this chapter. I had sincerely thought this chapter did post and that the "Not a chapter update" was removed because I clearly remember doing it and spamming the website's refresh page at 2am till the changes took effect. Apparently though something else happened afterwards.

On that note I will try my hardest to update on Fanfiction, but my laptop does not work well. However I did find out today that I can add pages on here through my kindle! So If I can, who am I kidding... I mean if I remember I will post on here because I really want to give those who loved this story on here the chance to read it. However if not I suggest you look up Tormenting the Raven on Wattpad. I'm currently working on a story about Steve and Buck and a girl who might end up with one or the other. Which probably wont end up that great but if you want to read my possible train-wreck, Fate, head on over. OOOOOoooorrr you could also read Chapter 3 of Tormenting the Raven.

Also I edited from when X takes Raven to the Tower down today so that I knew where to fix Chapter 3. Plus I wanted to get some good content in. If this is considered good content.

I apologize to everyone who waited so long for this. I've had a lot going on and before you all go get mad, at one point I had to go to the doctors a lot to see why I kept having health problems. We never found out what was wrong after all that testing. My grandfather also got really sick, I moved, went to many funerals, my mother had a cancer scare, and my baby brother broke his leg. That's only the tip of the iceberg folks. For awhile I lost all creative desire because I was so stressed and worried. Now, hopefully, I'm back unless the Future has anything else in store.
