Princess Krystal stared at him with wide eyes, unable to believe that he really meant it. Was he really saying that they were over, that she meant nothing to him?
Her usually happy light green eyes were filled with tears and Alistair felt his heart break at the sight. He wanted to tell her the truth but was forbidden from doing so. After all, being part of the Intergalactic Police had its downsides and this was one of them. . As she asked him questions after questions, he felt his self-resolve start to crumble.
He had to get out of there as soon as he could otherwise he would blurt out the truth and that wouldn't be good. He knew that if he told her his superiors would hunt them both down and kill them, and that wasn't what he wanted.
He looked at her coldly and started walking away. She watched his retreating figure for a long time before she slumped to the ground. This wasn't how this day was supposed to go. They were supposed to have had dinner at The Rose, go dancing, and then spend half an hour gazing at stars. However when he had arrived to pick her up, he had seemed preoccupied.
As he smiled at her, she noticed that his smile didn't reach his eyes and wondered what was bothering him. As they ate dinner, she noticed that he didn't seem to enjoy it and then knew for certain that something was wrong.
She was about to ask him what was troubling him, when he got a call on his holographic phone and as he looked at the number said that he had to take it. She watched him talk for about fifteen minutes, nodding every now and then.
For some reason when he approached their table, she knew that he had bad news for her. He quickly paid for the meal and gently took her hand in his, pulling her out of the restaurant. They headed for a nearby park and he had asked her to sit down.
It was then, that she finally found out the truth. He had told her that he was breaking up with her and that it had been fun being with her, but now it was time to end it. She was broken hearted and sat there for a long time, thinking of what to do next.
The sky turned a purplish-blue hue and Krystal stood up, wiping her tears away. She walked out of the park slowly and was about to call for her starship when, she noticed a dark blue box lying on the ground. Picking it up, she looked it over twice, before opening it.
Tears came into her eyes again as she saw the silver ring studded with amethysts in it. The only one who knew that she loved the ring was Alistair. They had been window shopping when they passed by the 'Imperial Lily' and she mentioned that she had liked it.
Alistair had remembered. He had cared enough to remember so why would he leave her? She took out the ring and saw that their initials had been carved inside the band.
Her tears began to flow freely and looking up at the now dark sky, said "Goodbye Alistair."
A/N:- I think that I did an okay job on this story and thanks to this challenge I now have another story to write about Krystal.
