Hey guys1! Sorry for such a long wait, but writers block is awful. I just haven't been very inspired or very motivated to write, though I really had the urge to do something, and this was the only thing I could think of besides World of Warcraft and I've already spent an hour on it, so I thought, why not?
I also thought this story really needed to end and after a talk with one of you guys (wasn't sure if you wanted a shout out) I have decided this is the chapter. I hope it gives the story justice. I will also be concluding the Tiger Fury in the next few weeks, but have planned to allow it to be an open ending enough for a sequel if I get 10 reviews or more requesting one. Wings of Freedom will be the only one I won't conclude because it's new, and I have lots of ideas for it.
Anyway! Enjoy!
This is Berk.
And over the past few months it has gone through so much. From being attacked by an army of men and dragons, to having dragons living with them.
In all my life I would have never thought I would see the day when Dragons and Vikings were at peace, and living amongst each other. I have to say though it is a life I enjoy.
Yep my life seems almost perfect, I have the most beautiful woman in the world as a wife and I don't have to go into a battle every night, praying that I would see the sun rise again.
However that doesn't mean everything is happy.
No I am still grieving the chief.
Stoick the vast was by far one of the best chiefs Berk has ever seen, and his death had a huge impact to the village. To honour him, we had a statue of him carved into the side of the great hall, allowing him to watch over the village still.
The tiger fury was the reason for his death…
…My daughter was the reason for his death…
But that doesn't mean to say it was her fault, and I realised that too late.
His son, Hiccup, had taken over the village after the whole incident of his father's death and Astrid taking over the Title 'Alpha'. However she had been too weak and had been out of action for about a month. During that time I had disowned her, and not seen her as my daughter but the murderer of my late chief.
How wrong I was.
After she had recovered not a few days later she had gotten together with the chief, and also found the solution to the other raids. But the sacrifice was too great. And we had lost not only the Alpha, but our new chief. They had disappeared into the fire, and was never seen again.
Gods that day was hell. My wife returned home with Valka and the night fury, and she was crying the most I had ever seen her cry before. Her sobs sounded awful and she walked straight past me, Valka and the dragon in tow, and Valka was crying as well, and the night fury hung its head down.
That could only mean death.
But I was surprised to hear it wasn't just Astrid, but Hiccup as well who had sacrificed their lives for the good of the village.
That's when I realised the good that my daughter had done, and how that in the end her scales from birth hadn't been a curse, but a gift… I just wish I could have realised that before I had lost her… for good…
It's been a couple of months since we have lost our Alpha and Chief, but we have yet to do a proper burial, which doesn't settle with me at all. I want to give them a proper send off, they of all people deserve it. However, Sven wanted to earn his now gone Daughters love, and so has made designs to give them the recognition they need.
The council has decided that Snotlout shall become the chief once trained, but for now Valka and the Hofferson's, being the Alpha and Chiefs parents, shall be the final voice for all decisions. I took the honour with great pride for my daughter.
In other news, my and Toothless now have a strong bond. He now allows me to saddle him up and ride with him when going to feed with the nest and also going on scouting flights, making sure we haven't got invaders nearby.
Sven has also earned Toothless' trust, and now the 3 of us live under the same roof with no troubles.
As for my daughter, I miss her dearly. But as long as she and Hiccup are together, I know it will be alright. Every night, I will always go out to the cliff edge and say goodnight to the two of them, hoping they can hear me.
After my sons and Alpha's death, I was left to help Toothless become the Alpha, and also help berk with getting used to having dragons around. Though I didn't know him very well or for very long, I miss him dearly. And I miss Astrid as well… For years she has been the only company I have ever had, and she soon became like a daughter to me, but also became my best friend. I know they wouldn't want me to grieve but I can't help but do exactly that. I refused to stay in the Haddock household alone, so I stay in the nest with Cloudjumper. I told the council no one is to live in the Haddock household or to touch anything inside, it being a reminder of my son and husband.
The Hofferson's and Gobber would comfort me as best they could, but I'm not the one who needs it so I help them more instead. I just hope we can give the young chief and alpha a proper send-off… Because they deserve it…
After a few months Berk had changed… Now there was 2 additional statues, one was located on the other side of the great hall. The spitting image of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, who was to watch over the village with his father.
In the centre of the village, was the statue that would show the courage and bravery of one young woman.
The statue of Astrid Hofferson, The tiger fury and Alpha of Berk. The statue had 2 parts, on one side was Astrid in Human form before she met her death, standing with a smile on her face and looking out to the horizon. On the other side was Astrid, but in her Tiger Fury form, wings spread and in a pose that could only be a roar, showing the world that she was almighty.
Now that the statues were up, Phlegma had finally brought up the sent off for the two, which everyone quickly agreed on.
Now we find the whole village, preparing a boat while Valka and the Hofferson's got a few of Astrid's and Hiccups belongings together and then brought them down to the docks. They got everything ready but waited until it got dark before sending the ship off.
The whole village gathered around the docks, and at the front was the Hofferson's and Valka. They were to be the ones to fire first. Gobber stood to the side, bow in hand, and gave the speech, as he once did for Stoick.
"May the Valkyries welcome them and lead them through Odin's great battlefield. May they sing their names with love and fury, so that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla and know that they have both taken their rightful places at the table of kings and Queen's. For two brave souls have fallen: Warrior's. A chieftain and Alpha. Peacekeepers. Friend's." Tears are rolling down his cheek as he says this, and once he was finished he nodded to the 3 parents for them to fire.
They looked at each other before lighting their arrows on fire, all of them crying as they pull back the arrow, aim at the boat which is getting further and further away, before all of them release the arrows, all hitting their target. The boat. The rest of the villagers fired their arrows as well, setting the boat completely aflame. They all stood and watch as the boat slowly just became a glow in the distance.
As the rest of the village disperses, the Hofferson's, Valka and Gobber remain, all wanting to see the 2 again, happy and care free. After an Hour of standing there, they all decided to head back, but stopped when they heard a single noise. One to say that they were still protected.
A roar that could only belong to one creature.
The Tiger Fury.
My daughter is now in Valhalla, along with the love of her life. I know their happy. Because every year, on the night where they both died, me, Phlegma, Valka and Gobber can hear the laughter of them both and then the loud roar the whole village hears, showing the mighty presence that has been left!
AND THAT IS THE LEGEND OF THE TIGER FURY!
Yes my other Fanfic is titled "Legend of the Tiger Fury" but this was the alternate ending, so I thought it fit well. HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED!
