Uzumaki Naruto did not waste a single second as he grabbed his essential tools and weapons, rushing towards the village gates of Konoha. The moon shone brightly in the sky at the earliest hours of the day.
"And where do you think you're going, dobe?" A voice called out in the darkness. Uchiha Sasuke soon appeared from the shadows, his features as cool as ever.
Naruto faced his best friend, exchanging a look that they both understood. "I have to save her. She was kidnapped."
"Kakashi told me. But who will take care of the village? You are the Hokage." Sasuke replied. He knew that Naruto was acting recklessly. Moved by his emotions alone, and that always ended up badly.
"I don't care! I need to save her!" Naruto yelled, clenching his fists. "Every moment I wait..." Naruto didn't finish his sentence. He couldn't even think of all the horrible things her kidnappers could be doing to her. "You of all people should understand me! What if it were Sakura-chan!"
Sasuke tensed, forcing the thought out of his mind. "I know. But right now, you are acting on your emotions." He said annoyed.
However, when the Uchiha looked at the blonde idiot, he read deep into his thoughts. Sasuke knew Naruto better than almost anyone else, and he knew how much he was suffering right now. The Uzumaki was desperate and full of hate. If he didn't save Hinata, he would never forgive himself.
The dark-haired man sighed and stepped aside, leaving the gates wide open. "I'll take care of the village while you're gone. Hurry up and don't act stupidly, dobe."
Naruto smirked at his best friend and immediately sprinted down the road, Hokage robe blowing through the wind.
"I won't. I'll be back before you even blink those red eyes of yours!" Naruto yelled behind him cockily.
Sasuke watched as the Hokage left the village he was obligated to protect to save the woman he loved. He blinked then sighed, walking back into the dark streets toward the Hokage's office.
"YOU LET HIM GO ALONE?!" An angry pinkette yelled in shock as her soon-to-be-husband returned to the Hokage's office, explaining what had taken place.
Sasuke avoided her glare. "I knew that look written all over his face. He had to go, and even if I tried to stop him, we would be sparring almost to the point of death."
Haruno Sakura sighed in exasperation. "Okay I get that. But we all have no idea how powerful this man is or even where he could possibly be!" She argued as Sasuke walked over to the desk and picked up the files and information about the serial killer. Hidden Water Village..
"Sakura, get Ino, Kiba, and Shikamaru." The Uchiha ordered the kunoichi and looked toward the rising sun in determination. "I have a plan."
Drip drip
Hyuuga Hinata stirred from the water lightly dropping onto her purple bangs. Slowly, she opened her eyes, finally realizing where she was. She sat up quickly and was rewarded with a sharp pain in the back of her head. Her hands were tied together by a rope, and Hinata bit her lower lip. Where am I..
Studying her surroundings, she discovered that she was not in a prison cell or even a dingy dungeon, but rather, she was in a small bedroom. The floor was covered with a ruby red carpet. She was placed in a large chair, and a fireplace roared beside her. There were no windows around her.
Just then, the door knob creaked and her captor entered the room, with a smug look on his face. The dark-haired woman glared as he approached her.
"Hello, Hina-chan. How do you like your new room?" Yukio asked with a distorted smile. Every step he took that closed the distance between them made Hinata cringe.
"I want to know what you want with me." The Hyuuga replied sternly, and began to activate her byakugon.
"There's no use in that, sweetheart."
Byakugon.
Hinata looked around, however her eyes stung and throbbed, head spinning as she began to feel nauseous. Her eyes watered and soon began to burn. She quickly deactivated it and sat with her head facing toward the ground, as she took in quick deep breathes.
"See. What did I tell you?"
"W-what did you do!" The Hyuuga heiress shouted in between breathes. "What did you do to me?"
"Simply deactivated your byakugon for a bit, using this drug I created." The brunette smirked as he held up a blue, translucent fluid.
"You monster! Give me back my Kekkai Genkai!" Hinata yelled in desperation, suddenly feeling completely helpless.
Yukio approached the beauty in front of him, their faces only inches apart as he stroked her cheek lightly. "Hina-chan. I am so sad to hear that from your lips. I thought you were a kind girl."
Hinata watched in disgust as his features became more and more psychotic. I need to get out of here. Slowly, he began to close the gap between their lips.
Hinata struck her forehead against his skull, causing blood to drip down the mad man's face. Yukio backed away, groaning in pain. "You bitch!" He yelled and slapped the dark-haired girl in the face.
"I chose you because I thought you would corporate." The man spat, looking even more terrifying than ever before.
Hinata's fair-skinned face was stained with blood and a purple bruise was forming at the side of her face. "That's one thing you don't know about the people Hidden in the Leaf." The Hyuuga replied and met his menacing look with a confident one. "We never give up."
Yukio looked at her determined face and began to giggle, which soon turned into hysterical laughter. Hinata looked up at him with hidden terror. The more time she spent in this room with him, the more dangerous it was becoming.
"Oh, Hina-chan! So confident! So determined! So strong!" Yukio mocked and looked into Hinata's pearly-white eyes. "You have no idea who you are messing with."
He walked around the room muttering incoherent words to himself. Pacing back and forth, as if a fight was going on in his mind.
Finally, he returned to the fireplace. "I need your eyes, Hina-chan. I already have a Sharingan." He placed his hand ontop of his left brown eye and when he removed it, a red spiral appeared. Hinata gazed at the Sharingan eye in shock.
"Once the preparations are complete. I will take your eyes. Don't worry it will only hurt A LOT!" Yukio said, laughing loudly. "Where's lover-boy now?"
Hinata thought of Naruto, the light and vibrancy he brought to her life. And suddenly, her dark and hopeless circumstance became brighter. Naruto.. Save me.
Where could she be.. Narutojumped from tree to tree, wind blowing through his ears. He had no lead as to where she could have possibly been taken. He hated to admit it, but Sasuke was right about the fact that he acted on his emotions alone. Think Naruto. Think.
Suddenly, he felt a strange feeling within him. It was as if Hinata was in danger. He had received the same feeling after Hinata was healed by Sakura after Pain had stabbed her. Before, he felt relief, but right now he was in a panic.
"HINATA!" Naruto yelled, running around trying to find a sign or anything. He was going insane. Finally, he stood on a lowered branch, striking the trunk with his fists in defeat. He had no clue where she could be and every second he wasted was another spent to hurt her. Never before did he feel so hopeless.
"Hinata was kidnapped?"
"N-no.. It can't be.."
"Who's the bastard who did this!"
"We don't know. Here are the reports." Sasuke explained the story to Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino, and Inuzuka Kiba. "I'm pretty sure you all know the guy. He went by the name "Yukio Homumura"."
"So it was him.." Ino muttered quietly, still in shock from the news. "We have to act fast, if she was taken last night then we may be too late!"
"Calm down, Ino." The shadow-user said while looking over the documents. "It's not too late, the rogue was obviously alone, so carrying Hinata slowed him down. He probably didn't want to stay too close to the village, so they either just arrived earlier this morning, or are still on the road."
The blue-eyed kunoichi let out a breathe she didn't even know she was holding, slightly relieved but still worried.
Kiba, however, was unusually quiet. Sasuke raised an eyebrow in confusion at his behavior but proceeded to ignore it for now.
"So I've gathered you all here to say that Naruto already left to look for her." The Uchiha began, eyes overlooking all of the shinobi in the room. Sakura stood beside him, looking anxious. "So this is going to be our 5 man team. Shikamaru will come up with a strategy, Kiba will track the rogue down by scent, and once we capture him, Ino will interrogate. Sakura is our medic, and she will heal Hinata once we find her. Kakashi will take care of the village while we are away."
"Naruto said that Hinata was taken from her room, so that will be our first area to investigate. That's where we need you, Kiba." Sasuke finished and looked at the usually bold and arrogant man, who was not acting like himself.
The brunette diverted his gaze to the floor and clenched his fists at his sides. "Hinata.. She of all people doesn't deserve this!"
The Uchiha watched Hinata's teammate lose his cool and felt a tinge of sympathy for him. "No one deserves this. But that's why we will rescue her, so stay focused."
Kiba gazed up at the dark-haired man who was smirking with determination, and the medic beside him who wore a similar confident look. Slowly, he nodded his head and drew his head up high.
"We are the generation of Konoha that surpasses the rest. Now let's show this rogue who he's messing with." Sasuke stated and the team left toward the Hyuuga compound, all quietly praying that Hinata is safe.
When the group arrived at the compound, they rushed into her room immediately after Hiashi let them in. Kiba and Akamaru sniffed the perimeter of the room, eventually picking up a light scent. It was faint, but it was a lead. Sakura was relieved knowing that they now can track the killer down. She was determined to make him pay for what he has done, not only to Hinata but to everyone else.
"We've got the scent down, now let's get out of here before it's too late. C'mon, Akamaru!" Kiba yelled at his friends, finally returning to his old self again. The pinkette knew how hard it was to lose a teammate. She almost lost Sasuke countless times. So she understood Kiba's concern and was glad to see he was calming down.
The shinobi leaped out of the compound and arrived at the front gates of Konoha, tools and pouches ready.
"Okay, here's the plan." Shikamaru began, looking over the group. "Kiba will lead us to the hideout, and on the way we have to find Naruto." He sighed from how troublesome the Hokage acted sometimes.
"Sasuke has Naruto's shirt so Akamaru will take his scent and find him. When we arrive at our destination, we can't act recklessly. Remember, this is a rescue mission, not a survival. Dying is not an option here." Shikamaru looked among his teammates as they nodded back at him.
"First objective is to find Hinata and save her. Then we can deal with the killer once she is safe." Shikamaru finished. "We are all familiar with fighting. Hell, we fought in the Fourth Great Shinobi War. I assume we all know what to do when we find the rogue."
Sakura looked ahead toward the road. Naruto was somewhere lost and mentally losing it while Hinata is in danger. There was no time to lose. She shifted her gaze toward Sasuke who gave her a reassuring look.
"Let's head out." Sasuke said and with that the group left the gates, following after Kiba and Akamaru.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu." Naruto yelled and in a blink of an eye, thousands of clones appeared all around him, hanging in trees and on the ground.
"Okay listen up. Hinata is somewhere with some sick bastard and I need you all to find her." The Hokage ordered his clones, and they dispersed, searching high and low to where she might be.
Come on.. Please be safe, Hinata!
His search continued for what seemed like hours until..
"Wait this is it!" A clone exclaimed to himself and the rest disappeared as he approached a small opening in the ground. Knowing full well of hideouts and traps, Naruto kept his distance on the branch of a tree. This looks familiar.. It's like that snake guy's hideout..
There was a rustling noise, and without even thinking, Naruto swiftly threw a kunai directly behind him from the noise he had heard. He turned around, facing his enemy, ready to attack. The bush behind him shook some more, whoever was behind it had been injured from his knife.
The shinobi was in view, and Naruto was about to pound a rasengan into his enemy's chest when he froze and his movements stopped completely, getting a good look at who he was fighting.
"Naruto.. W-Why did you hurt me?" A bloodied, pearl-eyed women asked, voice full of hurt and betrayal. The kunai was embedded into her thigh.
It was none other than the woman he was risking his life trying to protect. It was Hinata.
