Being the youngest of four archangels was never fun. Especially when the others were quite a bit bigger and stronger than you. This was the dilemma for Gabriel ever since he was born, always being pushed away from the toys and his dad, constantly being pushed down and bullied by his big brothers. Luci tried to be nice but usually just stuck by Michael, taking the ice cream and candy before Gabe could even get a chair to stand on so he could reach the treats. The worst part was that his dad never seemed to notice; he was always busy with things he wouldn't talk about and hiding things he tried to keep from his boys. Luckily Raphael was sneaky and he found out about the creepy-crawly things on Earth. But it was because his dad tended to forget about the littlest archangel that Gabriel was surprised to be given attention he so desperately craved.

Gabe sniffled and wiped at his chubby face when he heard the sound of leather hitting ground. He looked to see his father, concern clouding the smile placed on his face. "What's the matter, Gabriel?" He asked.

"M-Michael a-and Luci were-were being mean." The little angel explained.

"What did they do?"

"They p-pushed me and told me I was st-stupid," Gabriel sobbed and got on his knees, tossing himself clumsily into Chuck's arms. "They-they said puppies was dumb, too," he wailed.

"Now, now. It's alright…" Chuck rubbed the small fledgling's back, cuddling him close against his chest. "Now, why would they say puppies were dumb?" His voice was soothing to Gabriel as the little boy looked up, his golden wings fluttering against his back. "You know…they can help anyone feel better. That's a fact."

A quick bark sounded and Gabriel peeled himself away from his father, a smile finding its way onto his face. "Doggy!" he laughed. The corgi bound forward, jumping at the fledgling and knocking him over, licking his face. Gabe laughed and wriggled, sitting up and giggling when the pup gave one more lick for good measure. He scratched behind the dog's ears and rubbed his belly, laughing at how it's bottom seemed to shake since it had no tail.

"See, there's no way something this sweet could be dumb, Gabe." Chuck smiled, ruffling his son's hair.

"I like sweet things. They's better than anything else!" Gabe laughed, giving the puppy one more playful pat before getting to his feet.

"Oh, sweet things, huh? Like me?" Chuck pulled the boy back into his lap, tickling and kissing him, sending the archangel into a fit of laughter.

"No! No!" Gabe laughed, "You's mean! Me-heeeaniiiie!" he shrieked and slid from the man's lap. "You're mean, Daddy!" Gabe giggled.

"Oh! You wound me!" Chuck clutched his chest, flopping onto his side and causing the dog to bark. The pair laughed and Gabriel laid down on his father's stomach, snatching a couple of the man's fingers and holding onto them for dear life.

"Thank you, Daddy. I love you." Gabe mumbled.

"I love you, too, Gabey. Don't you ever worry, I'll always protect you and your brothers." Chuck smiled, using his unoccupied hand to brush stay hairs from the little angel's eyes.

I love Gabriel. I refuse to accept that he is dead. I also love that Kripke said Chuck is God. Makes things easier to write, not as alien.
