Chapter 15: Slow Burn

Don't pull your pants before I go down
Don't turn away this is my time
Like a shotgun needs an outcome
I'm your prostitute, you gon' get some!
Like a shotgun needs an outcome
I'm your prostitute, you gon' get some!

BPOV

We spent the weekend wandering the French Quarter and hanging out in the bayou. Jasper showed me around New Orleans and bought me a bunch of books in a cute little shop on Bourbon Street. When the sun was up we enjoyed each other in bed or hiked through the swampy land around the cottage. This little vacation was just what we needed and I took as many pictures as I could with a little disposable camera.

On our last day in NOLA, Jasper bought me a beautiful bracelet with small blue and green gemstones and a soft leather-band. I was overjoyed and looked for something similar for him, replacing the Cullen badged one he used to wear before he came back to Forks. The old lady that owned the shop showed me a beautiful band out of the same soft leather that was slightly wider and only held a single oval gemstone. The stone had a smooth surface and was of a greenish brown colour. When it caught the light at the right angle the colours would sparkle and reveal shades of gold and bright green. It reminded me so much of the woods around here and the warm feeling of the sun on my skin that I just had to buy it.

Our trip was coming to an end and we spent the last night in the busy streets of New Orleans with the buzzing life around us. With Jasper by my side it was easy to forget that I'd just lived through something traumatic. He was relaxed and calm. I could see that he enjoyed our trip just as much as I did. It was easy to forget that he was a vampire and needed blood just as much as I needed food. He snug out during the night sometimes and when the burning in his throat became too strong he would excuse himself during the day and disappear for an hour at most.

The vacation was doing wonders for our relationship as well. While we were doing pretty fine before we became even closer in the secluded bliss that was Jaspers home. We talked a lot about our feelings and insecurities. I told him about what happened before he could rescue me from Edward and he held me afterwards when the tears came. When it was my turn to comfort him during his side of the story, a bond had formed between us that was even stronger than the ones I share with my family.

When Sunday came I was depressed. Our holiday was over and we had to get back to Forks. Facing our problems once more and fighting the battles we had left unattended for the week. I was worried that the calm, relaxed Jasper would disappear again, that our precious time together would become a memory to be cherished but a memory an nothing more.

Alice called on Friday letting us know that she had ordered the Cullens private Jet to New Orleans for Sunday so we would not have to make a two day long roadtrip back to Forks. In that moment I was extremely thankful for Jasper's rich godparents and Alice ability to come up with plans just like that.

Flying in a private Jet was like nothing I've experienced before. The sheer luxury of having enough legroom to freely stretch and not having someone behind you that could complain when you adjust your backrest.

We landed in Portland in the early afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to find a rental car waiting for us. Alice had thought of everything and while I loaded the bags of clothing and a backpack full of new books into the trunk of the car, I found a small plastic container stuffed with sandwiches and two big bottles with soda and water. I smiled fondly at the items when Jasper came up behind me and kissed my neck.

"Ready for the ride home?"

I turned my head sideways so I could glance at his face. His expression was nearly blank, trying hard to hide the wariness he felt himself.

I smiled and kissed his lips, relishing in his sweet taste and the cool feeling of his hard lips against my soft skin.

"As ready as I'll ever be."

After the first hour of our 4 hour drive home I started singing along to the songs on the radio, happily munching my sandwiches between the songs and glancing at Jasper every so often. He was tense, I could see it in his posture and the waves of nervousness that seemed to wash over us sometimes. We could have chosen one of the small airports close to Forks. It wouldn't have been a problem to get the permission to land there, but Jasper and I agreed on taking the longer journey and spent some more time away from Forks.

It was a sunny afternoon so we drove with the windows down. When we came to a lesser frequented road I stuck my feet out of the window and placed my head onto Jasper lap. He chuckled lightly as I tried to find a good position to rest.

"You know.. you could always crawl onto the backseat. Would most likely be the better choice."

I could catch the twinkle in his eyes as I pouted up at him.

"But I want to stay close to you. You may be as hard as a stone but you're still comfortable."

He just laughed again but placed his free hand on my stomach nonetheless.

While he rubbed small circles on my stomach and hummed contently to the tune on the radio, my mind wandered to the region my head was currently resting on.

What he had done to me in New Orleans... repeatedly over the holiday... I wanted to do to him too. To give him the same kind of pleasure. To explore his body the same way. But I did not know how to do it. Jasper was awfully experienced in that field and while he found my innocence endearing and quite arousing, as he reassured me frequently, I was quite self conscious with my pleasuring skills.

Thinking back to the first time I held him in my hands and tried to bring him to the edge I fidgeted on Jaspers lap, turning a bright crimson.

He looked at me with a bemused expression and smiled brightly when that only intensified my blush.

"Could you at least pretend to look at the road?"

I mumbled at him while he continued to look down at me. Jasper only snorted as an answer but complied nonetheless.

"I love the rainbow of emotions that's running through your little heart but sometimes it gets a confusing. Even for me." he mused while rubbing my belly affectionately.

"One moment you're curious and full of anticipation and the next there's a shit ton of embarrassment and self consciousness."

His observation made me turn my head into his belly.

"Care to explain what brought all those bad feelings on?"

Jasper seemed genuinely interested but I was not willing to share. When I did not respond apart from pulling my legs inside and turning onto my side so I could snuggle deeper into Jasper shirt, he just shook his hand and began to hum again.

He knew not to push and that's something I really loved him for.

The wind picked up again when we left the desolated roads for the interstates, so we were forced to close the windows. Without the constant sound of the rushing wind it was now awfully quiet in the car. Sure, Jasper was still humming along to the songs on the radio and the cars engines were working loudly underneath us. But I registered all that only faintly while I thought back to our first sexual encounters.

Jasper's nose was pressed into my neck while he nibbled at my collarbone, eliciting soft moans from me. We had been a couple for a month now and things were moving along faster. Finally. While Jasper had already pleasured me a few times, I had yet to get him to a state of undress where I could actually do anything to make him feel good. As he dove deeper to caress my breast I made the decision that tonight would be the night and pulled him up by his elbows. He looked at me with a mix of confusion and hurt in his eyes. Jasper was always fast to comply when I voiced my discomfort. He would never do anything that I hadn't agreed to before and even after he would make sure that I was enjoying it.

"What's wrong? Are you uncomfortable?"

His brow furrowed as he looked at me through the darkness. I could tell that he hadn't caught any bad feelings from me and that he was utterly confused right now. When he looked at me like that I couldn't help the giggle that escaped me.

"No I'm alright. But I want to... feel... more of you.."

I felt my face heat up but decided to stand my ground. Pulling at his shirt I tried to get my point across.

When I had voiced my wish I had not expected him to shy away from my touch. Jasper looked away quickly and rolled off of me and onto his back.

The room was only dimly lit by the moon outside my window but I could make out the outline of his face and the crease that formed between his eyebrows as he stared up at the ceiling.

With Edward I would have expected something like that. And even with Jasper, kind of. But not after one month of hot French kissing and at least a dozen of times where he had touched me in all the right, oh so inappropriate, places. I couldn't help but feel hurt and rejected.

As soon as he felt my emotions he turned to me and touched my cheek, looking deep into my eyes he poured out all of the things he was currently feeling. Love, lust, passion but also self consciousness. He continued to caress my face as he pushed all of that out for me to feel.

"Don't ever question that I want you."

I only nodded and edged closer to him, wanting to feel his body close to me again.

"But why do you shy away from me?"

In the silence of the room I could hear the sigh that escaped his lips. He brought my face to his chest and I felt the vibrations when he spoke in a hushed voice.

"You know that I've spent the majority of my life fighting against vampires. You've heard my stories about those dark years of my life."

I nodded against his chest, reliving the dream I had of Maria after he first told me about her.

"Even now there a signs of that past all over my body. Just like the one you carry on you."

My fingers wandered absently to the ragged patch of skin on my other hand. The part that still felt cold.

"Mine are deeper, though. Ugly and uneven. Littering my whole body."

The disgust with which he spoke made me cringe. When he spoke again his vice took on a somewhat defeated tone.

"You can't see everyone of them. Some are just a little lighter in colour, some only feel weird when you touch them... but some are visible to the human eye."

Snuggling deeper into his still covered chest I shrugged.

"I don't care. They are tokens of your past. Signs that you have lived and that you've fought battles. I don't know the history of every single one of your scars, but I know your history. You are no lesser person because you have them and you are not less attractive because of a bit of uneven skin."

I did not notice when exactly I've started to cry during my rant but when he pulled my face up to his I could feel the wetness on my cheeks.

The kiss we shared then was one of the most passionate we ever had. He shrugged of his shirt and pants and I spent the night exploring his body. Kissing the scars that I could see and crying tears for the pain they inflicted upon him.

When we met in a heated kiss again I resumed my mission in pleasuring him. Pushing him into the cushions (as much as he allowed me anyway) I kissed him with a new fervour. I let my hands wander south, stroking the plains of his stomach and tracing the unbelievably sexy V before moving over to his covered thighs. I heard his sharp inhale every time my fingers wandered closer to the bulge forming in his pants but I tried to make it last. Our kiss turned sloppy as I concentrated harder at the task on hand, so I turned away and watched my hand instead. Jasper helped me gain confidence by pushing out his feelings for me again and I moaned out loud when his arousal hit me. Unfair.

I traced the outline of his straining length, before rubbing it a few times. I had no clue how to go on about this but simply tried to imagine what I would like. So after a couple more strokes above his pants I slipped my hand under the elastics and into his underwear.

He felt impossibly hard in my hand. His cold skin was unbelievably smooth and I began to stroke him at a leisurely pace. Exploring what kind of movements he liked.

Jasper was trying hard not to move too much, his hips jerking slightly with every upwards stroke. When he groaned into the cushions and his hands fisted the sheets beneath him, I deduced that he liked what I did.

It took me long that night to get to the right pace and tighten my grip just enough so he could cum but when he did he pulled me down into a searing kiss, pushing his hips up into my fist as his cool seed covered the insides of his boxers.

He kissed me long and hard afterwards, his hips jerking against me in the aftershocks and I felt absolutely overwhelmed with love and pride that I had done that to him.

As we lay in the afterglow I traced a spot just above his heart on his chest where no bitemark was. When he realized that I was mapping out the area of smooth skin he chuckled into the crown of my hair.

"You know... I've always fought hardest when someone wanted to bite me there. I did not know why... but now I know that I reserved that spot just for you."

I slept well that night. My head on the smooth skin of his chest just over his unbeating heart.

I woke up to the smell of delicious food and the sound of my grumbling stomach. Sitting up I realized that I must have fallen asleep in the car. My surroundings were quite familiar even though I wondered why he would bring me to the Cullens house. We hadn't spent much time here with Alice still being around and the only rooms not full of unpleasant memories were his study and the bathrooms.

"Jasper" I called tentatively into the seemingly empty room.

With a sudden shift in the air he appeared in the doorway that led to the kitchen, a plate with mouthwatering smelling content balancing on his hand next to a can of soda. He made his way over to the coffee-table and placed everything in front of me.

He smiled down at me and kissed the top of my hair before disappearing again into the garden only to come back with a beautiful set of flowers. He placed them into a tiny crystal vase on the table and let himself plop down onto the couch next to me.

While I contently dug into the spaghetti he told me about his plans for the rest of the day. He would drive me home as usual but afterwards he would go on a hunting trip with Alice and try to get the information he needed out of her.

I frowned around a mouthful of pasta, trying to swallow the bite before coughing out a whiny "So you won't stay with me tonight?"

Jasper shot me an apologetic smile when he shook is head.

"Maybe a few hours after midnight but I promise to be there before school and drive you. Your truck is still standing in the parking lot but Alice retrieved your schoolbag so you could go get it after school.

While I was still somewhat sad that I had to fall asleep all alone that also meant that I had a few hours to myself to do some research. After the flashback I had in the car I was determined to search the internet for some techniques and that's when I remembered my agenda from earlier that day. I wanted to give Jasper the same experience that he had given me repeatedly over our little vacation.

With a new determination I smiled at him and said "Okay then I'll see you tomorrow morning bright and early. Don't make me late for school." and handed him my now empty plate. Walking over to the door I shot him a look and urged him on "Come on. It's already 9pm. Charlie expects me home any minute now, right?"

I skipped the stairs down to the garage and sat smiling in the car before he could even make his way to the kitchen to get the plate cleaned.

"What has you in such a good mood all of a sudden?" Jasper hollered from the doorway.

He looked slightly appalled by my eagerness to get home and spent the night without him by my side.

"Should I worry that I bore you, now that we've spent the last days together day and night?"

I could see he nervousness creeping up on him but I patted his leg affectionately when he sat in the drivers seat and smiled coyly up at him.

"I could never tire of you, ever! But you know what they say about sleeping apart and rekindling the fire."

Jasper frowned down and replied in a for him untypical whiny tone "But our fire doesn't need any rekindling!"

I laughed as he started the car and drove me home. Waggling my eyebrows at him when I caught him stealing sideways glances.

He made sure to snog me senseless before ushering me out of the car and wishing me a good night.

I was still smiling brightly when I entered the house to find Charlie in unusual company..
