A/N- I apologize for the extreme lateness of this update, there may be times where it takes me a while to update and I really am sorry but I don't intend on ending this story any time soon. Thank you so much for supporting this story! I can't put into words how much the support means to me!
Disclaimer- I don't own Danny Phantom.
Less than an hour later found the trio gathered in a quiet section of the Nasty Burger. Empty food wrappers lay scattered around the table in front of them. The trio were sitting in silence as Sam and Tucker had just explained the events from the night of the portal incident. Danny slowly raised his up from its place in his hands and looked between Sam and Tucker.
"Please," Danny started to say in a confused voice, "Please tell me this a lie, a joke, a... a something other than the truth. A drawn out dream maybe?"
Sam looked at him and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry Danny. I really, really am but this is our reality now."
Danny gave Sam a quick false smile. "Thanks Sam that's-" He stopped and gave a thoughtful look. "What do you mean our?"
Sam gave Danny a smirk. "What you think we'd just ditch you to deal with this on your own? No way, we're in this together." She said.
"Yeah man!" Tucker practically yelled with a goofy grin. "What would our trio be without an awesome super-powered friend! This is just like a comic! How could we abandon this chance?"
Danny began to laugh, Tuckers attempts to cheer him up had worked, for once. "Haha thanks man." Danny said while still letting out short laughs.
"I can't believe you two." Sam said while rolling her eyes at them. The three of them shared a short moment of silence before bursting out in a fit of laughter together.
Their good mood instantly vanished as a pair of large hands slammed down on the table the trio were sitting at. The trios eyes traveled from the persons hands to their arms and finally up to their face, revealing that the person was the one and only Dash Baxter. Dash wore a wicked smirk on his face and his eyes shone with the hell he was excited to release.
"So," Dash began to taunt in a low drawl, "Turns out you could swim after all huh, loser?" Dash took his hands off the table, crossed his arms, and leaned back, a satisfied smile from harassing Danny appeared on his face.
"You know what" Sam said threateningly as she rose from her seat to stare Dash down. "You need to lay off, seriously. If Tucker and I weren't there to pull him out he could have died! Then you come over here and try to act cool about it! Whats wrong with you?"
Dash froze up briefly, then relaxed, and spoke up again with a sadistic look in his eyes. "Something wrong with me? Ha! that's funny, have you looked in a mirror recently, goth freak, I can assure you I'm the normal one here."
Tucker rose up out of his seat at that in defense of Sam. "Hey! That is so uncalled for!" Despite Tuckers rare show of confidence, it had no affect and he shrunk back quickly when Dash aimed a glare at him.
"That's a nice backbone you finally grew, geek, isn't it too bad that its so weak." Dash said in a condescending tone after seeing Tucker get frightened by his glare.
The three of them flinched when they heard a bang. They looked over to see that Danny had slammed his hands down on the table, his shoulders just barely shaking in a show of his rage. He slowly took a large breath and joined the three in standing, keeping his head down and shoulders slack. he walked past Sam and Tucker until he was mere inches from Dash. Suddenly Danny snapped his head up a terrifying look on his face. Dash took a startled step back.
"I don't like you." Danny said slowly and calmly, looking Dash in the eye. "I never liked you. You are scum of the Earth."
It was at this point Sam and Tucker began to walk to Danny getting nervous. Though it was subtle, they could see strands of Danny's black hair turning white as he continued speaking.
"Why are you here?" Danny asked voice now starting to pick up a slight echo. "No one likes you. So DIE!"
When Danny practically screamed the word die, voice echoing loudly, his pupils turned to narrow slits and his irises flashed a neon green. Dash stumbled back in shock, convincing himself the change in Danny's eyes and voice was just his mind playing tricks on him, he was just shocked Danny stood up to him, that's all. Tucker stood between Dash and Danny, shoving Danny back into the booth and sitting in front of him to block Dash from seeing him.
"Hey! Why'd y-" Danny started before Tucker cut him off.
"You need to calm down, man! This isn't like you! C'mon! Snap out of it Danny!" Tucker yelled quietly, so not to be overheard by Dash. Danny bent his head downward and his shoulders heaved, indicating the calming breaths he was taking. When Danny lifted his head once more his eyes were their usual calm blue and his hair was going back to being completely black.
"T-Tucker? Wha-" Danny said confused, seeming completely exhausted.
"Hey, man." Tucker said gently, giving Danny a small smile. "How ya feeling?"
"Uh, so tired. What just happened?" Danny asked tilting his head as he tried to remember the past few minutes.
Tuckers eyes widened. "You seriously don't know?" Danny shook his head back and forth. "Oh man, that's probably not good... What can you remember?"
Danny scratched the back of his head and did his best to remember. "Dash came up to us" Danny paused. "I think Sam was talking to him... that's all I can remember, sorry. Wheres Dash now?"
"Gone." The two boys looked up to see Sam standing over them. "Danny, you don't have to apologize or worry, ok? Everything is fine for now I took care of it. You'll remember when you can. For now lets get you home, you look exhausted."
"And," Tucker added, "If you cant remember we will always be here to help you through it."
Danny smiled at the two of them. "Thanks guys, I'm lucky, you two are so calm and supportive about this," He paused to look them both in the eyes. "Thank you both really." Danny then let out a loud yawn prompting his two friends to help him back to his house.
When they made it to the Fenton residence and got Danny settled in his bed Sam began talking again. "Danny, I support you so please don't take this the wrong way but, whats happening, its dangerous Danny. No one can find out, we have to do something so you can control this whole...thing."
Danny smiled at her. "I know Sam, and I agree, this needs to be controlled, especially since it's causing black outs." Tucker seemed to get excited after Danny said that.
"Danny, I'm so glad you just said that." Danny and Sam just gave him fearful looks, when Tucker had an idea it was only right to be nervous. "I've been thinking about it and I have the perfect solution. Tests!"
Danny paled and his eyes widened, he was right to be nervous. In that moment there was only one word Danny managed to stutter out.
"T-tests?"
