~Aria~
"He is mad!" Bilbo exclaimed wincing when Thorin's loud shout echoed throughout the mountain. Aria gazed at the small hobbit offering him a reassuring smile. "What can we do?" He worried, brows furrowing in a deep frown, "What if I just gave him-"
"No!" Aria interjected firmly, eyes narrowing at him in warning, "He will only get worse," She explained leaning back in the chair.
"Ari he can't continue like this!" Kili exclaimed pacing back and forth, mumbling under his breath and looking around the room as if he were searching for answers. Aria's gaze swept over the small room she had cleared. It had shelves around the walls filled with thick books. A huge table placed in the center with a couple of chairs, "And for him to treat you like-"
"Kili," Aria interjected with disapproval.
Kili narrowed his eyes at her, "He has no right…," He firmly told her, pointing a finger at her in anger, "King or not, he has no right, to speak to my sister like that"
~Legolas~
"You disobeyed" Thranduil hissed patience finally wearing thin. Tauriel bowed her head more.
"I was the one-"
"You do her no favors if you keep taking the blame," He interjected, cold eyes glaring at him. Legolas held his father gaze raising his head higher, determined not to look away.
"The dragon is dead," Legolas tried instead, "The people of Lake-town need help"
"Yes," he stated simply, "And the dwarves surely left running to guard the mountain"
"The people are in need," Tauriel stated, seeing the eleven King in disbelief, "We should be out there helping-"
"Of course, we'll take supplies when I go to speak with them," He announced standing from his throne, walking slowly toward Tauriel, eyes narrowed, "But you will stay Tauriel"
Tauriel met his gaze, "I will not," She defied.
"Tauriel will not stay Ada," Legolas said firmly as Thranduil narrowed gaze flickered to him, "She's not an elfling anymore Ada, how do expect her to grow if you do not let her?"
"Your emotions for that dwarf will be your downfall," Thranduil hissed turning to look at her with disgust. Tauriel reached out her hand towards him fingertips just lightly touching his left cheek, but Thranduil quickly snatched it giving it a hard squeeze, "What is the point?" He asked, "The dwarf will die,Tauriel...," He stressed, "...and then what of you?"
Tauriel's gaze softened, "It is my choice, Ada," She whispered out. Thranduil narrowed eyes flickered to Legolas before he released her hand turning away from them in a haste.
"Do what you will," He called out leaving the room.
Legolas let out a sigh turning to Tauriel, "Get rest, knowing Ada, we will leave soon"
"Do you worry also Legolas?" she asked quietly looking at him but he refused to look at her, not when she would read his reply so easily.
"I wish for you to be happy, my sister," he whispered out moving slightly to place a quick kiss to the crown of her head. Her hand quickly reached over slipping her slim finger under a silver chain, carefully sliding them down to the small golden bead. His body tensed halting in any movement as she rolled the bead between her fingers before tucking it inside his tunic.
Her emerald eyes meeting his cyrstal ones, "I also wish for you to be happy, brother," she whispered, placing a kiss to his cheek and turning to leave calling out to the other guards to prepare themselves.
~ARIA~
Aria walked down into the open hall to see the sunlight stream through where the great double doors had once been. She slowly walked to the entrance enjoying the small cool breeze that blew pass. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before reopening her eyes. Bard will surely come soon the people have lost their homes they would need to rebuild for that to happen they need the gold Thorin promised them. The Elven king will surely waste no time to arrive and when he does Thorin temper will hold no bounds. She turned to the golden room hearing Thorin's loud shouts for the arkenstone. Aria slowly made ways back towards to golden room perring inside through the open doors to see the company in haste searching the piles of gold for a stone that was not there. She needed to get him to leave the room in order to heal him yet she was still hesitant in entering again. Not when he had yelled at her with such anger and painful words that pierced her heart but she knew she had to.
She took a deep breath coming to stand a few paces away from the door, "My lord," She called out kneeling down, bowing her head but the reaction was quick and brutal.
"GET OUT YOU SHE-ElF!" the roar came.
Aria swallowed the lump in her throat, "I Saw something," she called out lowering head more until her forehead touched the cool marble floor. She could hear her dwarves suddenly halt in their movements.
Thorin was quiet before he gritted his teeth, "What have you Seen," he bit out. Aria released her breath not realizing she had been holding it. She slowly outstretched her hand beckoning for him to take it as she slowly raised her head to see him looking down at her with mistrust yet he took a few steps forward in anticipation, "What have you Seen?" he hissed.
"The eleven king and Bard will come," She half lied. She knew Bard and the Eleven king would eventually find their way towards the mountain though she did not know when.
Thorin cursed loudly, "They come for my gold"
"We must secure the mountain," She suggested taking in a quick breath, "You must secure the mountain"
"We need to block the door" Thorin muttered under his breath, "Balin you will stay here, guard the gold room no one is to come in!" He turned to the others ordering them to block the door. Her dwarves all scurry out each giving her shoulder a soft pat. Aria cast a side glance where Balin stood seeing him look at her in worry.
"You..," Thorin spit out, stopping to stand beside her, "will stay at my side"
Aria kept her smile from showing quickly standing, "Yes, my lord"

Aria paced back and forth, twisting her fingers in anticipation while the loud tumbling of rocks echoed throughout the mountain. The company had worked hard the whole night to block the entryway.
"Ye should sit," Fili called out coming to her side stopping her in mid-stride. Aria shook her head pushing him away gently, "Aria," He called sternly, "Everything will be alright," he assured as he turned to Kili telling him they will block the back door also.
"No," She stated turning to her brothers who looked at her in a frown, "They will be here any minute," She offered before turning to the back door. The same door they had escaped from when Smaug had attacked the mountain so many years ago.
"Who's coming Aria?" Kili asked
Aria closed her eyes briefly, "I sent a message," She whispered looking to Fili to see him close his eyes and take a deep breath.
"Tell me you didn't," He pleaded reopening his eyes, his blue eyes filled with fear.
"Who?" Kili asked clueless.
"Dain," She said softly turning away from them.
"Dain!" Kili exclaimed, "Have you gone mad!"
"We need him," She reasoned turning back to them as they came closer to her, "His loyalty is to Thorin, He will answer our call"
"Dain is ruthless," Fili stated.
Dain was a proud dwarf, fixed in the old ways of tradition. He was loyal to family and didn't take kindly to threats that would put family in danger. The dwarves of the Iron Hills away kept to themselves outsiders weren't welcome which Aria would guess why he always disapproved of her especially after what the eleven king did to them after Smaug's attack.
"He has an army," She argued, "The eleven king and Bard will come to the mountain and we will be outnumbered"
Fili narrowed his gazed at her but said nothing more crossing his arms.
"Ari," Kili whispered up to her drawing her gaze, "He insults you," he stressed reaching out to grab her hand tightly, "He oversteps the line"
Aria smile softly at him pinching his cheeks, "A few words will not hurt me," she assured, "Your safety comes first, I will not have anyone die"
A loud thundering knock came from behind them and Aria took a deep breath releasing Kili's hand.
"Ari?" Kili called out to halting her, "you don't need to speak to him"
"After all this time I would have thought he would be more...accepting," Fili whispered under his breath.
"I ask both of you not to bait him, let him speak freely," Aria demanded looking at her brothers before walking over to the door pulling it with all her might to reveal Dain and his men. He walked in barking orders to his men. Aria saw the dwarves trickle in all in armor, carrying weapons.
"Look for a place for the goats!," he shouted angrily when the riders enter through the door, "For all Mahal, open the other door how do ye expect the twirls to fit!" He yelled. His stubby cheeks turning red as he sharply turned to Aria narrowed gaze with suspicion. Dain never changed towards Aria, Even after the battle of Moria, he could never truly trust her and his disan for her he never hid.
"Dain," she acknowledge only to hear him grunt.
"I must have lost my titled when I left the Iron Hills," he half jested. Aria bowed her head lowering herself to kneel on one knee
"Forgive me my lord I meant no disrespect," she offered quickly, hearing her brothers grumble under their breath,"quite!" She hissed back at them.
"Where is he, Thorin" Dain questioned. Aria quickly got to her feet motioning for him to follow taking him through the hallways passing the company who greeted Dain's men happily, only to stop at a doorway hesitantly turning to Dain.
"I warn ye, he isn't himself," She said in a low whisper which only earned her a glare. She carefully opened the door seeing Thorin pace back and forth on the gold floor mumbling to himself, "My Lord," she called. He froze in place turning towards them in a daze, "Dain of the Iron Hills has arrived"
Thorin let out a muffled of incohorret words before turning away continuing to pace back and forth.
"Thorin?" Dain's gruff voice called out confused pushing Aria out of the way to barge in the room, "Thorin!" He called out more firmly.
"Guard the mountain," He responded quickly stalking to the still dwarf, "Guard the mountain, They will want…," He murmured. He's gaze flickering to Aria in a narrowed gaze, "Stay, Stay with me," He order out turning back to the middle of the room gazing down at the golden floor.
Aria stood still unsure.
"What blasted witchery is this!" Dain exclaimed turning to Aria.
"Aria!" Thorin called out again without looking up, "stay"
"Speak with Balin," She rushed out turning away from Dain to walk towards Thorin. She kneeled down watching him pace back and forth. The stayed in silence with only Thorin low mumbles and deep sighs. She stayed still waiting for him to set the pace in which he would let her help him.
Thorin stopped pacing finally looking up at the ceiling, "Tell me what you See," He breath out. Aria tilted her head not understanding, "Tell me what you See," He demanded turning to her, "Will we win?" He asked.
Aria frowned, "Ye know my foresight doesn't work like that"
"Try," he commanded harshly.
Aria sat still taking deep even breaths as she outstretched her hand to Thorin beckoning him to take it. Thorin placed his hand in hers letting her pull him down so he sat in front of her. Her other hand reaching over to unsheathe his sword from his hip and placing it on her lap. Arias fingers carefully touching the blade when her eyes turned white her grip on his hand tightening as images flashed. She took in a sharp breath a wave of emotions overwhelming her, "I see clouds of gray on the sun," She whispered out softly the images flashing in her mind over and over like an unending cycle, "Hooves on the ground like thunder, the battle has only begun with the dead only growing in numbers," Her brow scrunched seeing the many dead faces of dwarves, but to her surprise there were Man and Elves. A war raging like an uncontrolled wildfire. The many faces flashing in her mind. The images were zoomed in and out, they halted for but a second only to continue to flip continuously. Until it stopped bringing in focus to the dwarven maidens, crying endlessly, clutching their tunic over their hearts making Aria's heart ached at the sight, " I see…," She croaked out, "I see mothers howling in grief," She spoke softly unable to see more she shut her eyes tightly willing the vision to end, hoping the vision would end. She couldn't see anymore, she didn't want to know what the future held. The vision slowly faded distorting the many images before it disappeared completely. Aria let out a deep sigh raising her head upwards toward the ceiling before opening her eyes, feeling the warm tears slide down. A heavy feeling lifting from her heart, yet it still ached and it seemed she could barely breathe. Her lungs burning as if the were on fire every time she took a breath.
"We'll lose," Thorin exclaimed under his breath turning to glare at Aria when she moved to look at him.
"You asked me to tell you the truth," She said placing both hands on the cool golden floor, "Must we have war?" she questioned looking at him with pleading eyes, "Please, Throin, war will only cause more heartache, have the people not have enough?"
"It is them!" he blamed turning a narrowed glare at Aria, "They want what is not theirs," he growled as he pounded his chest with much strength, "Its my gold"
"You would rather go to war?," She questioned, "Then to honor your word?"
"I owe them nothing," He hissed out.
She slowly offered her hand as he once again placed his stubby one in hers, 'Its…mine…," he went on. Aria took a deep breath reaching her other hand to his temple. The feelings were overwhelming so much darkness that it whispered promises of more gold, more power. It beckoned and wrapped itself around her mind, "…mine…," he mumbled under his breath before releasing a sigh. The black veins crawling up her hand and arm she could feel them reach all the way up to her chest. A sheen layer of sweat quickly covered her forehead, gritting her teeth slightly, it was too much. She quickly released him watching him fall on his back a content sigh leaving his breath. His eyes fluttering close, "again..again…" he whispered out. Aria reached over with shaking hands placing them on either side of his temples and taking another deep breath and clenching her jaw, preparing herself for the onslaught feelings and pain.
XXX
Aria slipped out of the room closing the door softly and turning to the loud commotion.
"Dwalin!" she called out spotting the built dwarf pushing back the huddle dwarves, "In the name of Mahal, what is going on?" she demanded stalking towards the group.
"Someone at the door!" he exclaimed as Dain's men grudgingly parted ways to let her pass. Aria frowned pressing her ear to the door only to hearing loud knocking echoed back, "Been knocking for while"
"I say we open it, we can take them," Dain declared.
"Everyone quiet and think of Ale," she called out loudly as she slowly opened her mind pushing through the many thoughts that came blaring at her loudly. She pushed through the thoughts of Ale and dwarven maidens aside until she heard the soft yet loud thought that called out to her.
'Zudreki!'
"Azura?" Aria breath out closing her mind moving to open the doors, ignoring the protest of Dwalin.
There stood Azura with the rest of the giants. Aria took a sharp breath eyes watering in seeing her old friend. The nostalgic feeling making her miss the blue mountains. They hadn't changed at all, it was like they never left.
Azura turn to look down at her with wide eyes a smile tugging her lips. She hurriedly walk towards Aria cupping her face.
"It has been too long," she exclaimed brushing her thumb on Aria's cheek. Her hand taking the ends of her hair, slightly frowning, "You cut your hair?" she questioned moving her hand so the tips of her fingers brushed over the tips on her ears that were in full view, Azura smile brightly at her, looking at her fondly, "You've grown Zudreki"
Aria eyes quickly narrowed as memories of the last years with the giants came to her mind. They had distance themselves the minute they knew what she was. Aria pushed her hand away and stepped away to see the rest of them enter.
"What are ye doing here," She asked harshly. Azura brows scrunched in confusement hearing her speak in the common tongue, "Much has happened when you left," Aria bit out turning to the dwarves.
Azura was quick, grabbing her arm, "Why so much anger?"
"You know why," she bit back shaking her arm out of her grip, "Why come now Azura? How did ye know of the door"
"Gandalf," she supplied simply taking a quick glance back at the other giants when she heard a low growl, "I didn't want you to know what you were," she spoke softly turning to look down at her gaze softening.
"I had the right to know," Aria scoffed eyes watering.
"I didn't mean to hurt you," She stressed slowly reaching for Aria's hand to give it a squeeze, "You must believe me"
Aria looked up to her taking in her words, many years have passed since she had last spoken to her. Anger still swell in her yet she could turn her away.
Aria slowly squeezed her hand back, "I know ye didn't," She answered. Azura smiled at her turning to the others and calling for them. They all gather around Aria whispering their greeting while stretching out a hand to her shoulders.
"Out of all things, what in Mahal is this!" Dain shout came. Aria quickly turned to see the stubby dwarf still in his armor holding his hammer. His cheeks turning bright red, "Who are these tall trees!" he order.
"Such an angry little thing," Came a silky voice. Aria saw Jazi from the corner of her eye as she took a step towards Dain standing tall to peer down at him.
"What did ye say!," he shouted as his men gather behind him. Aria quickly stepped in pushing Jazi back with a scowl.
"They are friends," Aria assured turning to Dain as she kneeled down, His fix glare had her bow her head, "She meant no disrespect, Lord Dain"
Aria could hear him grumble and shift as his metal armor clank and creaked, "Keep'em away," was all he said before turning to leave. Aria released a sigh standing to her feet only when she could no longer see the lord of the Iron Hills and his men.
"Why bow," Came a sharp demand. Aria turned to the Giant her red hair had been braided back with different beads and feathers decorating it.
"Jazi, pleasant as ever," she huffed out instead calling for her dwarves seeing them speak with the rest of the giants.
Jazi let out low snarl, "Still like a child," She hissed. Aria narrowed her gaze, quickly charging at her with full force catching her off guard. Aria could hear the giants call and hooting knowing they would not interfere. A fight is fight, the strongest will move in the hierarchy of their ladder. Jazi grabbed her wrist twisting it outwards before head butting her. Aria let out a groan falling on the cool floor when Jazi released her but she was quick swinging her left leg to land a hard kick to her right knee causing her to collapse.
"Enough!" Azura commanded.
All the giants went silent releasing the dwarves from their grip. Fili and Kili coming to her side helping her sit up.
"Ari," Kili called out worrily seeing her eyes shift from different colors to violet orbs, "Fili," He whispered out glancing to his brother.
Fili looked at her with worry but slowly covered her eyes with his hand, "Just breath Ari, breath"
Aria did as she was told taking deep even breaths, anger coursing through that it felt she was being consumed. Fili slowly uncovered her eyes when he felt her relax by taking slow even breaths to reveal different color eyes looking back at him.
"Fili?"

"Master Baggins," Aria called out softly only to see the small hobbit jump in fright turning to her with wide eyes as he mumbled out an explanation, "Ye leave, ye shouldn't return," She warned halting his stuttering.
"You won't stop me?" He asked quietly lowering his eyes. Aria moved to kneel in front of him placing her finger under his chin to raise his gaze.
She looked at him with such fondness, "If ye thinks it will work then ye should try"
"Lady Aria…" he croaked out, stopping to clear his throat, "War can be avoided," He insisted. Aria smiled at the small hobbit leaning in to press a kiss to his cheek seeing his cheeks tint red.
"Then you must try," She replied softly, "They will be here by morning," She offered moving away from him as he moved back to the rope swinging himself over and making his way down. Aria watched him reach the ground and slink into the darkness, "But I've seen the war that is to come and I'm afraid nothing ye do can stop it," She whispered out to the darkness moving to the rope untying it and watching it fall.

Aria looked up as Thorin shouted insults to Bard and the eleven king.
"I see he still hates elves," Azura stated softly turning to look Aria in disappointment. Aria scoffed turning back to where the Giants were settled. The small fire camps providing some warmth. Her eyes glancing over to where Dain and his men sat quietly not wanting to let the elves hear them.
"I don't think tis something that will pass soon"
"Will he have war?"Azura asked softly looking at Aria to see her hesitate, pain flashing in her different color orbs. The bruise on her temple still a deep purple color. The scratch of her cheek slowly healing while the gash by her other temple was a vibrate red, Jazi's doing, "You've seen it," she stated.
Aria nodded taking a deep breath, "War will be inevitable"
Azura frown seeing the worry in her eyes, "But you don't wish to fight"
"No," Aria breath out unconsciously twisting the silver band.
Azura bowed her head, "We will support you Zudreki, whether to fight or not we will follow you...," loud shouts brought her gaze back to Thorin watching him shout with all his might cursing the king, "He is not well," Azura said commented coming to sit next to Aria. It was the first time Azura had seen Thorin leave the room he had holed himself up. The arrival of the eleven king and Bard had him coming out of the room not even at her arrival had he wanted to speak with her.
"He is almost better, I just need more time," Aria breath out
Azura narrowed her eyes, "Tell me you have not been healing him," She asked in disapproval. Aria eyes flicker to her, "I am and I will continue," She pressed passing Ori a piece of her bread when she heard his stomach growl loudly. The food portions weren't small not since Dain brought quite a bit of food with him, but Ori ate like Bombur did. Aria sighed handing the rest of her bread to Kili when said dwarf looked up her with sad wide eyes.
~Legolas~
He walked through out the small encampment overseeing the food portions that were being distributed to the people of lake town. He looked to his left to see Tauriel distributing other supplies before turning towards the mountain and letting out a small sigh. His father had wanted them to stay behind to help the people while he, Bard, Gandalf and the small hobit made ways towards the mountain but not without taking their best fighters.
It has been half a day and still no word has been sent to him. He reached up unconsciously taking the silver chain out from his tunic to rub the golden bead between his fingers. The worry etching into his features.
"My prince?" A soft voice called out. He turned to see an elleth standing in front of him in question, "Is something wrong?" she asked quietly tilting her head slightly. Her blond hair braided back with intricate twists. Her dark blue orbs shining in the sunlight reflecting specs of gray.
"It is nothing," He replied softly offering a small smile.
"I know you well enough to know that it is nothing," She chided softly reaching her hand over to press her thumb between his brows to smooth his frown out. Her hand slowly falling to clasp his softly taking the golden bead from his fingers.
"Miriel," He called out in a soft warning. His smile disappeared as he carefully removed her hand from the bead, taking a step back and tucking the chain back in his tunic. Miriel looked at him with curious eyes before letting out a musical laugh. Legolas narrowed his gazed at her.
"You do not scare me Legolas," She said softly stepping forward, "I am used to your narrowed eyes and cold words, I know it is your way to hide what you are thinking"
"I would have thought you stayed in Mirkwood," He replied instead angling his body away and taking a step away from her. He watched as her smile falter in his response yet her eyes glint with mischief as she shrugged. He saw her gaze turned to the mountain then flicker to him again. He could see the questions that swirled within, wanting to ask but yet didn't know how too. Her smooth complexion and light skin glowed under the sunlight enshrouding her in a radiate light. There was a time where such a sight would have left him breathless, where her soft voice would lull him into a trance, where her graceful movements would capture his gaze, yet not anymore. He found himself picturing midnight hair, fair smooth skin and different color eyes.
"I'm a healer am I not?"
"Does your king know you are here?" He questioned seeing her nod in confirmation smile vanishing replaced by worry in seeing him pull away from her.
She looked at him with calculating eyes, "What has changed Legolas?" She whispered seeking his gaze as he turned to her.
"Miriel," he said quietly, "Our union-"
"Has been set," She stated looking into his crystal blue eyes, watching the confusement wash over him, "Our King set a date when you were away," She explained turning away from him. Legolas clench his jaw feeling the anger rise in him in hearing his father had set the date without speaking with him first. His thoughts swirling in his mind. He had complied to the arranged marriage his father proposed simply because his father had said he wasn't bound to the agreement. Miriel slowly moved in front moving her hands as she hesitantly cupped his face feeling him stiffen his stance, "Do not worry, I will wait until you are ready"
