Peppermint Patty

~Lucy's point of view~

We spent the rest of the day inside, Laxus stayed by my side keeping me warm as I slept. Who would have thought the great Thunder God could be so gentle. However I had the feeling if Wendy or I ever spoke of this to others he would fry us alive. My fever came down considerably with Wendy tending to me. Now here we were lying in bed trying to sleep but my thoughts were consumed by a certain lightning dragon slayer. He had retired to his room earlier, not before whisper an offer of me joining him after Wendy fell asleep. Part of me had been tempted to just follow behind him like a lost little puppy. I let of a sigh as I rolled out of bed and walked towards the window. Snow falling lightly from the skies and gathering together on the already snowy ground. It was beautiful in way almost peaceful. The snow look untouched and the new flakes of falling snow reminded me of cherry blossom petals as the descended from the skies carried in the wind. I let out a breath causing the window to slightly fog. I still felt a slight chill in me and I knew sleep wouldn't be finding me anytime soon.

Letting out a sigh I walked towards my bags and pulled out my light pen. I wasn't a pro at rune writing but I knew enough to put up a simple barrier that would only allow Laxus, Wendy, and I in. Once finished I left a message for Wendy letting her know that I went downstairs to get something to drink at the bar and grill the little Inn had with it. I knew I should probably change but shrugged it off other than the three of us no one else was staying in the Inn besides the owners.

I walked down the staircase stopping a few steps before the last at the spot Laxus had first kissed me. I ran my fingers over my lips remembering the feel of his lips on mine. There was something about Laxus that brought out the vixen in me and made me want to take off my panties and throw them at him as a white flag of surrender. He was so unbelievably sexy and had the perfect body a guy could have. So much delicious muscle god I wanted to taste his skin. I groan shaking my head, thoughts like this aren't going to calm my mind or help me sleep. I took the last few steps and rounded the corner to the bar. As I expected no one was there except the bartender. He lifted his head smiling as I entered. He was an older man probably in his late 30s with light chestnut brown hair and hazel eyes.

"Welcome little lady what can I get you?" He gave me a crooked smile putting down the glass he had been cleaning.

"Can I get a pot of piping hot cocoa and a bottle of peppermint schnapps?" I asked taking a seat at the bar looking at the menu for food. "And an order of cinnamon rolls to go with it." I smiled putting the menu down.

"Interesting combination little lady. So what brings you here at this hour?" He asked going into the kitchen talking through the open window the kitchen had so he could see the bar.

"I couldn't really sleep I'm not use to this cold weather either." I let out a chuckle rubbing my hands together.

"Not much snow where your from then?" He questioned as he made the hot cocoa and placed the premade cinnamon rolls in the oven to heat.

"It snows in the winter but not in the middle of summer. Plus we don't get quite as much snow." I smiled thinking of the Magnolia and the guild the place that had become my home.

"Well here we're so close to the frost mountains that it's pretty much always cold here regardless of the season. Here you go little lady and by the way my name is Oscar if you need anything else just ask." He placed a tray with the pot, bottle, and plate of cinnamon rolls on it in front of me along with a few coffee mugs and shot glasses.

"Thanks Oscar I think I'll move to the table that's by the window I like watching the snow fall." I smiled picking up the tray and bottle of peppermint schnapps and walked across the room where the only window was.

I sat there enjoying the quiet as I poured some of the hot cocoa into a mug, opening the bottle of peppermint schnapps I poured in a decent amount into the mug mixing it up. Picking up the mug I inhaled the sweet smell of cocoa and peppermint before taking a sip. I let out a sigh of happiness loving the taste that resembled that of a peppermint patty the cook use to make back home with my parents. I put the mug down and tore off a piece of cinnamon roll and dipped into the drink before eating it. A small little moan left my mouth really this was amazing, one of my favorite guilty little pleasures Capricorn was determined to break me of being deemed completely unhealthy. I continued the process until I finished off the first cinnamon roll then picking up the mug I finished off rest of the hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps. I started making another drink enjoying myself and the quiet I didn't notice the dragon slayer that had been standing a little to the side of me.

"Having fun blondie?" I jumped dropping the mug, squealing and falling out of my chair. Bracing myself for the cold offending ground I closed my eyes waiting for the floor to greet me until I felt a rather muscular arm wrap around my waist. Opening my eyes I come face to face with Laxus smirking face his other hand holding the cup I thought hit the ground. "A little jumpy now." He chuckled tightening his hold on me. "Mind if I join you?" He placed me back into my chair placing and cup back on the table and took the chair across from me. "What are you doing up blondie you're suppose to be resting." I huffed at the stupid nickname cursing the sexy man under my breath. "Such a dirty little mouth." He smirk one of those smirks of his further pissing me off.

"I couldn't sleep and thought a drink might help me relax." I grumbled picking up another cinnamon roll dunking it into my drink once again. "I was enjoying the quiet while watching the snow fall."

"Really blondie what the hell are you drinking?" Laxus scrunched up his nose looking at the tray on the table. I felt my eyes widen before looking at him.

"Are you kidding this is some of the best stuff ever." I waved my hand towards the items on the table in front of us. He raised his eyebrow at me trying not to smirk.

"Sorry I'm not big on peppermint blondie I wouldn't know." He chuckled as I felt my eyes go wide, who doesn't like peppermint. Then it hit me that I really didn't know anything about Laxus. Sure I talked to him but I never got to know him. I didn't even realize I had been staring down into my mug until I heard Laxus calling me. "Lucy? What's wrong?" Concern laced through his voice and I felt his hand grab mine. My head shot up catching his eyes I felt my breath hitch. He looked worried.

"S-sorry Laxus I uhh I just kinda realized I didn't know anything about you and uhh it kinda made me sad." I mumbled the last part but I knew he heard me he's a dragon slayer after all. I seen his eyes widen slightly and looked away from him feeling a little embarrass. I felt Laxus squeeze my hand trying to get my attention I however ignored his silent plea and continued to stare out the window as my face started to become a beautiful shade of red.

"Lucy look at me." He spoke so gently that for a second I wasn't sure if it was Laxus who spoke.

I still didn't make any move loathing myself for how embarrassed I felt. I heard him sigh letting go of my hand. Not even a second later he was squatting down in front of me staring into my eyes. I didn't understand what he was doing he just stayed there staring at me I felt my face flare up more trying to advert my gaze from him. He would not allow me though, grabbing my chin with his hand keeping it in place. I quickly closed my eyes not understanding why I was so embarrassed I just didn't want him looking at me in this state. I don't know how long I sat there but Laxus never released his hold on me.

Suddenly I felt his lips brush against mine it was a soft gentle caress. Completely unlike the previous kisses we shared today I didn't know what came over me or why this man affected me so much. I leaned into him pressing my hands into his chess relishing in the feel of his muscles beneath the fabric of his shirt. A soft moan escaped my mouth allowing him access to ravage my mouth with his tongue. The kiss remained gentle with passion and longing I've never felt before causing a deep shutter to run down my spine. I barely notice him picking me up from the chair, throwing some jewel on the table and carrying me back up the staircase. I heard Laxus open the door to what I assumed was his room shutting it with his foot. I felt my back connect with the bed bouncing slightly from the contact. Here I was all alone in the middle of the night with Laxus a man I didn't even know I had been pining for. Here I was lying in a bed with this gorgeous man on top of me kissing me in a way that made my head dizzy and my mind hazy. He sinked further into me spreading my legs further apart with one of his hands allowing him more room.

"L-Laxus," I let out a breathy moan I glanced up at the man looming over me.

"Lucy tell me what happened back in the bar." He kissed me once more before placing his forehead on mine.

"I don't know you at all." I faltered for a moment not entirely sure what to say. "Yet here we are and some part of me is yearning for you and I don't know why. I've never given you much thought before other than a simple hello in the guild or how was your mission. I don't understand how someone I don't know can affect me so much." I covered my eyes with my hands once again feeling completely flustered by everything happening. "I want to know you Laxus, every part." I whispered as my heartbeat quickened.

~Laxus' point of view~

I was dumbstruck. I didn't know what do make of the blonde below me. In a way her words made me feel fucking amazing. The fact that someone like Lucy would even want to spend any kind of time with me was astounding. To add on that she wanted to get to know me and admitted to being attracted to me blew my mind. On the other hand part of me wanted to run. Never have I gotten to know someone who I wanted to get a good fuck out of. I never screwed around with girls from the guild either. This was unknown territory for me. I knew Lucy deserved something better then fuck buddies. I knew that from the beginning but I couldn't help myself the busty little blonde was full of surprises. She had been so unbelievably sexy revealing a side of herself that I knew no one got to see. She was so damn responsive to me, reacting to every little touch and kiss as if it was the best she was ever experience. Part of me wanted to know her as well. She had been bold and so daring that I wasn't even sure if it was still sweet innocent Lucy Heartfillia.

Then there was the incident at the bar, she had been so cute and gotten so flustered and embarrassed over something so silly. I remember feeling my chest clench when she wouldn't look at me. For some reason it bothered me that she didn't want me to see her. Part of me felt worried and a little afraid that I had done something to upset her. I don't know why but I seemed to be drawn to her as much as she is to me. It both thrilled me yet frightened me at the same time. I could picture being with Lucy actually having a relationship with her. She was everything I could ever hope for in a woman and so much more. She was everything I was not. Loved by the guild a source of hope for everyone. She brought happiness wherever she went brightening anyone's day like a ray of sunshine. She was forgiving and accepting of others no matter what kind of mistakes they made. She had an air about her that made you want to stand beside her. I knew I didn't deserve someone like her in any kind of way. I knew I should end this before it got out of hand. The problem though I was damn selfish. I wanted this woman and everything she would give me I would gladly take.

"L-Laxus say something," She whimpered I didn't even realize how much time had gone by while I had been thinking all this through.

I didn't know what to say to convey the way I felt in the moment so I did the only thing that would get my feelings across. I gently stroked her cheek as I dipped my face down towards her softly kissing her in a way that I've never kissed anyone before. She tensed slightly at first before she relax returning my kiss with a passion that drove me wild. I licked her bottom lip begging for entry this time I wouldn't force it I would let her decide how far this went. She moaned low as she opened her delectable mouth inviting me in. I groan at the taste of her I normally didn't like peppermint but it tasted fucking delicous on her lips mixed with the a hint of cocoa, like a peppermint patty. I pulled away from her needing to catch my breath knowing she would need to as well.

"I don't care for peppermint really but I love the way it taste on your lips. I want to know you too Lucy if you'll let me." I whispered gazing into her eyes as I continued to caress her cheek.

I watched as her face bloomed into a beautiful shade of scarlet making Erza's hair dull in comparison. I chuckled as she looked to the side clearly embarrassed once again. She really was beautiful. I slowly sat up helping her up along with me, I didn't want her to leave but I knew she needed to get some sleep. We all needed to be ready and alert for whatever is to come and for the rest of the team when they arrive. Now that I thought of it I was shocked Freed hadn't tried to contact me once since I arrived. Then I remembered that communication lacrima's didn't work due to some interference.

My thoughts quickly turned back to the blonde sitting on the bed next to me. Her face still flushed eyes glazed over and slightly panting. For a moment I was worried remembering the fever she was earlier. I moved my face to feel her forehead noticing the return of her fever I sighed as she began shivering. I couldn't send her back to her room like this and Wendy would be extremely upset if I woke her to find Lucy in such a state. She leaned into me her head falling on my shoulder as she lightly shivered. Sighing once again I picked the blonde up to rearrange the blankets. I placed her down in my bed, taking the covers I pulled them up to her chin before turning for the door. I didn't get far before I felt a slight tug on the tail of my shirt.

"Don't leave me," She whimpered.

"Don't worry I'll be back in a minute I'm just going to leave a note for Wendy so she doesn't worry." I turned back towards her fixing the blankets once again.

"Stay until I fall asleep." She grabbed my hand before I could go anywhere trying to keep me next to her a little longer. For some reason it made me happy that she didn't want me to leave, that she wanted to keep me close to her for as long as she could. I kicked off my boots and slid under the blankets with her.

"Sure Lucy now try to get some sleep." It didn't take long for her to seek out my body, snuggling into my side letting out a content sigh in the process.

"Laxus?"

"Hmm?" I hummed.

"You're really amazing, thank you." She whispered before sleep claimed her.

Okay so I know it's been like forever. Well lot's have been happening on my end. Please understand that this story had been planned out to every last detail in terms of plotline. My computer died on me taking my well documented plotline and OC's with it. So I went into complete ubber depress mode. So I am so very sorry for making you guys wait so long but I couldn't bring myself to post something only halfway decent.

So this chapter is kinda short and totally went in a different direction but I like it! I hope you guys do too! I'll be updating Gates of Fate next! Please be patient with me guys I haven't abandoned any of my stories promise!
