Sorry for the long delay. College just wrapped up and I have some writer's block on this project. Please enjoy! Sorry if this chapter's grammar is off, my wisdom teeth just got pulled out so I'm a bit fuzzy while writing this.

Chpt.10

When I entered Wally's apartment, I was shocked to see that Wally was beaten up like Mr. Wayne, with a busted up lip and some bruises. I swiftly sprinted to his side, stumbling a bit but I made it to where he was sitting on the couch under a second.

"Wally! Are you alright? Who did this to you? Why-"

"Lyf, calm down. It was just a rough night, but I'm fine. Alright?" he gave me a gentle smile as he pat my head. His attention then turned to Mr. Wayne, who was still lurking in the doorway.

"Thanks for looking after her, and tell Dick and Tim I say thanks too." Wally smiled and Mr. Wayne just gave a small nod, then closed the door, leaving to head back to his hotel room and hopefully recuperate.

"Wally… do you want me to get something cold? Cold things always seem to help with bruises." I stated and Wally just smiled and shook his head.

"Thanks but no thanks, Lyf. These bruises will hopefully be gone in a few hours. My healing is fairly fast." He paused a moment. "Is your healing not that fast?"

I shook my head.

"No. I don't heal really fast. Well… maybe a little. I dunno. My cuts seemed to scar pretty fast but I usually have a bruise for a while." I informed and Wally nodded his head.

"Huh, so our abilities are slightly different." He hummed, the new information sounded surprising to him. However he shrugged and waved his hand. "Anyway, how was your day? Everything run smoothly?" Wally inquired, and I nodded.

"Yeah. Dick and Tim are really nice and funny." I grinned and decided not to talk about my abrupt detour in the woods. I felt guilty for breaking down and being scared so easily. I hoped that it would just be a little secret between Dick, Tim, and I.

"Did you eat dinner while you were there?"

"No, but we watched Hercules." I beamed, thinking about the awesome movie, but then my stomach grumbled.

"Alright then, kiddo. Well, let's get you something to eat. I'm hungry too." Wally grinned as he limped over to the kitchen and started rummaging through the cabinets. "Have you ever eaten Ramen soup before?" he inquired and I shook my head.

"No. What is it?"

"Noodles and seasoning. I think you'll like it." Wally smiled and swiftly was boiling some water and then had hard noodles soaking in it. He then poured in a yellowish powder into the mixture and stirred, pouring out two bowls for us.

"Here you go." He said, passing me a bowl and I took a sip.

"Thank you." I smiled as I felt the liquid warm my body. The flavor was similar to chicken but also very salty. None the less, I definitely liked Ramen and I had fun slurping up the noodles.

"Good?"

"Great." I beamed, quickly slurping up the noodles and giggling. Wally grinned at me, ruffling my hair as he continue to slurp up his own noodles.

We sat side by side on the couch slurping at the noodles while watching some Loony Toons.

Once the Ramen was finished, I was feeling lethargic and sleepy, feeling at ease as I laid back into the comfy couch. Wally could tell how obviously tired I was and said,

"Long day for you, huh?"

"Yeah." I nodded and Wally chuckled.

"Me too. I guess we could both use some sleep." Wally grinned as he started to sit up, but I grabbed his hand.

"Please… Uncle Wally… I don't…" I don't want to be alone. I wanted to say but I couldn't seem to get the words out of my mouth.

I had only been living with Wally for two days but I just wanted to be near him. I trusted him and it had been so long since I was with someone that I could trust. I just didn't want to be left alone.

"We can sleep out here together tonight, if you want." Wally said in a soft voice, sitting next to me on the couch. "I can turn on the weather channel. The music is pretty lulling."

"Thank you." I grinned, then curled up next to Wally on the couch. He draped a blanket over the two of us and it didn't take long for me to fall asleep against his side.

~O~O~O~O~O~O~

"This just in. Mirror Master managed to escape the Central City police and is once again at large. If you-"

"Ugh. That didn't take long for him to get out." Wally grumbled as he switched the channel.

He and I were eating breakfast, which for us was several bowls of Reese's Puff cereal and orange juice.

"Mirror Master… was that the man who captured me and put me into that bubble thingy?" I inquired. Wally frowned as he nodded his head.

"Yeah, that's him." Wally glanced over at me then brightened. "But don't worry Lyf. I'll make sure he goes back to prison." Wally informed with a bright smile and just then there was a knock at the door.

Wally swiftly was from the table to opening the door where there stood Shayera.

"Hey, come in! Join us for breakfast." Wally beamed and Shayera smiled, then looked over at me as she entered the room.

"Hello Lyf. How are you?"

"I'm great. This cereal is really good." Shayera's eyes were on the Cereal box and she then mumbled,

"And very unhealthy for you." She shot a glare at Wally who just shrugged.

"She's got a fast metabolism. She'll burn it off." Wally smiled while Shayera rolled her eyes, however she sat and started making herself a bowl of the cereal as well.

"So, what do you two have planned for today?" Shayera inquired and Wally shrugged.

"Well I didn't have anything specific in mind." Wally's eyes went to me. "Do you have any idea what you want to do today, Lyf?"

"Ummm… not really." I answered honestly. I didn't really have much in mind.

"Then we can go to the Zoo." Shayera smiled and Wally looked at her in surprise.

"You want to go to a zoo?"

"Yes, I think it would be a fun educational trip. I saw an ad about a new Wolf exhibit that might be interesting. Apparently one of the Wolves had a new litter." Shayera explained.

"That does sound pretty cool." Wally grinned. "Lyf, have you ever been to a zoo before?"

"No, but it sounds kinda neat." I nodded. I had never been to a zoo before but I heard enough about them. I did like animals and I liked spending time with Shayera and Wally. It sounded like a win win to me.

"Then it sounds like we have our day planned." Wally beamed. I liked how we were planning on doing something fun for the day. I also liked how it distracted from the upcoming trial, which still worried me a lot.

However once we finished up breakfast and Wally and I got on our jackets, I was worrying less and less about the trial. Holding Wally and Shayera's hands, I walked out of the apartment with them, vibrating with excitement.

It was like a fantasy. A fantasy with a family I always wanted and I never wanted to wake up from it.

However, I knew that I couldn't live in a fantasy forever.
