Chapter Eighteen

Where was he?

Was he alive?

Was he dead?

He was laying on something soft, something warm, and he forced his eyes to open. Dim light flooded the room, but not so dim that he couldn't see where he was. If he could've gasped he would have but no air left his lungs when he saw his surroundings.

He knew this place…

Hyrule Castle…

He was back…

Link turned his head, his eyes trying to focus on the shape in the corner. It was a servant, an older woman, stooped over a basin of water. He parted his lips, trying to speak but his voice was dry.

"Please…" he managed to croak out and at the small noise the woman turned, her eyes going wide when she realized that he was awake. "Water?" He asked and the woman's hands shook as she stumbled over to the bed.

"Of course, Sir Link!" Her hands were still trembling as she grabbed the glass of water and lifted it to his lips. "Bless the Goddess, you're awake!" He was slightly shocked to see the woman's eyes filling with tears. "Gretel!" She called and a younger maid poked her head in from another side room, "He's awake! You must tell the Princess! Tell the Princess that the Hero of Hyrule is awake!" Her joyous voice rang in his ears and he inwardly grimaced.

The young maiden, her face full of shock and whelming up with tears, fled the room and Link was puzzled at the reaction of everyone.

It seemed that he'd been asleep a long time…

But how long?

He sensed that all was not well and he inwardly grimaced once more…

Go figure…

VVVV

This was all she needed…

Zelda held her head in her hands, elbows on her desk as she pondered her current situation.

Things just couldn't get any worse…

Impa and Lady Helena had informed her of the threat, of the army that now threatened to overtake the castle from the west. She struggled inwardly with her rage, her sorrow, and her fear for the people. Not knowing the exact mass of the army, she'd sent two of Impa's best Sheikahs to scout the army and report back to her by nightfall. Only then would she have a better understanding of what to do next but until then the next few steps were simple. Castle town was to be evacuated, the ones unable to do so given shelter within the caverns below Hyrule Castle where if they didn't prevail the remaining survivors would be escorted to the hills beyond where the passage ended. These orders were already being carried out and from her seat at the window she could see the steady thrum of villagers leaving the town below. Most headed to Karkariko Village, others to Zora's Domain where she'd already dispatched a carrier to deliver messages to Darunia and King Zora. She knew they would take care of the villagers until the battle surpassed.

Again doubt flooded her mind…

What if they didn't defeat this new enemy?

What would become of her kingdom?

Of the Gorons and Zoras?

Would the killer army strike those next?

She shook her head, pinching her temples as she tried to make herself think. There was no use in worrying about the future quite yet, especially where she had no evidence to act on. Looking out her window once more she caught a black shape moving below and her eyes fixated on Dark.

He was attending to Stryder, exercising the beautiful stallion around the courtyard due to his inability to leave the castle walls by order of Lady Helena. He was certainly drawing the attention of the guards but when did the dark stranger ever go unnoticed?

Zelda watched him, her mind surprisingly blank but she could feel the sting inside her heart with each beat it took.

She'd been a fool…

A naïve fool…

But she couldn't afford to be that way now…

Squaring her shoulders she turned from the window, getting back to the reports. She was pouring over them when a knock sounded at her door. Without lifting her eyes from the stocks of food she called out.

"Enter," she answered and the door opened to reveal a servant girl. Gretel if Zelda remembered correctly and by the look on the poor girl's face something was either very wrong or very good.

"Y-Your majesty!" Gretel hastily bowed but Zelda was already up out of her chair.

"What is it? What's wrong?" She demanded, coming forward to touch the servant girl's shoulder. Gretel was weeping, but by the look in her eyes it wasn't because of sadness.

"S-Sir Link! He's awake!" Gretel cried and Zelda stood there a moment, shocked, but quickly moved past her and was out in the hall, running, and before she knew it she was in front of those doors. Shoving them open she stopped short when she saw him. His eyes were bright, clear and alert now, his face full of color and he was sitting up. At her abrupt entrance he jumped but his eyes widened in surprise and filled with warmth at the sight of her. He opened his mouth to say something, what she didn't know but she didn't care. She launched herself across the room, wrapping her arms around him as she hugged him tight. He grunted but chuckled, hugging her back as well.

Link…

He was back…

She buried her face into his chest, the weight of the world suddenly seeming to crush her and the tears were there before she knew it.

"You idiot," she mumbled against his shirt, struggling to keep her voice even as he rubbed her back, "Don't ever scare me like that again." She pulled back, wiping at the stray tears and Link smiled, helping her with one.

"Don't worry, I'll try not to." He chuckled and Zelda felt for the first time in a long time, hope spring up inside her.

Things were going to be okay now…

They just had to be…

Link, noting the bandage on her arm, gently touched it with his fingers.

"What happened?" He questioned and Zelda sighed, a grim smile on her lips.

"More than you'll wish to know," she answered honestly and Link furrowed his brows, suddenly very serious.

"Try me." He replied and with another small sigh of resignation Zelda did.

VVVV

He'd missed more than he'd thought…

Link sat there, motionless as he tried to absorb all of the information Zelda had just given him. So he'd been poisoned by one of Ganondorf's minions, Zant in fact, and so had Zelda. Both had nearly died but thanks to Dark, his other half, they'd been saved. He was now in the castle with them on orders from Lady Helena. Why he was, was still a mystery, one Zelda didn't know herself but by her demeanor she cared little for the monster as she should but…

There was something more…

Something she wasn't telling him…

Not wanting to press her, he simply held her hand, glad to have its warmth back in his but it was a different feeling now.

It was friendship…

He did not love her as a woman, but more as a sister and he hoped she felt the same. Her face was worn, seemingly stretched thin and her hair had almost seemed to have lost its shine it once held. She was tired, tired beyond belief and he could see it. He squeezed her hand tighter.

"I am sorry, Zelda." He whispered and he could see the tears building once more but she was strong and did not let them fall.

"Thank you," she answered back in a soft voice. Together they sat there, quietly, before he spoke again.

"I have something that I must tell you Zelda, about what happened to me while I was sick." His words were serious and Zelda perked up, listening. "It'll sound crazy," he sheepishly added but Zelda only half grinned.

"When are things not considered that in our lives?" She quipped and he nodded, courage to tell her everything filling him.

So he began…

When he finished, Zelda's brows were drawn harshly together as she thought.

"So, the other world does exist? And its ruled by a princess of Twilight," her words were barely audible, as if she was speaking more to herself than Link but he nodded in agreement nonetheless, "and you…love her?" She asked, raising her eyes to his and he nodded once more. Zelda seemed distant for a moment but her next words surprised him. "I am sorry," she gave his hand a squeeze, "that you had to lose her, but if you came to this world via a portal of sorts, I'm sure we can find a way for you to return. After this battle is waged, I will devote whatever you need in order to make this happen." Her smile was bright, filled with life and Link blinked in shock but then smiled in relief.

So she understood…

"Thank you, Zelda," he grinned at her and she returned it, chuckling as she elbowed him.

"She must be quite the princess in order to catch your eye," she winked and laughed when she saw him blush. "I can't wait to meet her," she finished and Link felt as if there was a real chance in being able to find Midna again, to be with her.

That is…

If she felt the same…

But he wouldn't think of that now, now he had to help Zelda in her time of need.

"When are the scouts due back for the reports?" He questioned and Zelda looked towards the window as she answered.

"Nightfall." The sun was beginning to set and she stood, "I've taken up more of your day when you should be resting, so rest Link, for I don't think I'm going to be able to hold the Lords off for another day." And he knew she was right. As soon as word of him being awake was heard, people had flooded to the doors wanting to see him but Zelda had given strict orders that the only people allowed to see him were herself, the maids and Impa. The sheikah head yet to grace him with her presence but she was probably preparing the clan for the upcoming battle.

"I know, I'll try and get some rest," he answered and Zelda nodded and walked to the door but she paused to look over her shoulder at him.

"I'm glad you're awake Link, I could use my friend back." She smiled, but her eyes were filled with pain and Link nodded, his throat running dry but before he could reply she slipped out the door, leaving him to his thoughts.

VVVV

He was restless…

He didn't like being restless…

He paced the office of Lady Helena, his mood growing darker as he waited. Finally the door opened and the woman entered. She was dressed in the simple colors of mourning, her hair done up in a tight bun but it was her eyes that gave Dark pause.

They were hard and angry…

She made no move to speak to Dark and instead crossed to her desk, quickly grabbing a quill and paper. Confused, Dark went to stand beside her but whatever she had written down she was done with and folded the paper. Taking an envelope she placed it inside and sealed it with her insignia. Reaching for the bell she rang it twice and a servant appeared. She passed the letter to him.

"Deliver this to Impa in Castle Town immediately." She ordered and the servant nodded before retreating back out the door. Dark watched this with calm and turned his gaze back to the council woman as she then lowered herself into her chair, her brows furrowed and her lips pressed into a thin line.

"Trouble?" He quipped and her eyes snapped to his.

"Do not test me, Sir Dark. I have little patience left after this day." She replied, her tone implying that her words were true and he watched her, assessing the lines of her face, the bags under her eyes and the way her shoulders stooped ever so slightly.

"Then tell me why you've summoned me, Lady Helena." His forwardness was enough to make her straighten in her chair, but not ease the tension on her face.

"It is Sir Rendel, he's going to be calling for your execution in the morning." The words oddly did little to effect him considering his suspicions. Link, the Hero of Time and Savior of Hyrule was awake now, they would have no use for him and considering he was still branded a traitor and villain this would be the perfect time to order his execution.

"I suspected as much when I heard the news," his emotionless tone echoed off the walls of the office and Lady Helena nodded.

"As did I, but I could not risk ferrying you away in the day and risk his ire, especially if I had no solid proof yet but as we speak he's sent a man to draw up the execution. You must leave tonight." She stood, looking him square in the eyes. "Your horse has already been prepared for you, along with provisions for your journey. I wish you could stay and help us defend the castle, but I will not risk putting the princess in a situation where she must choose her kingdom over you when I do not have enough evidence to convict Rendel of conspiring against the throne." She reached down to her desk, picking up another envelope that bore her seal but instead of red wax it was purple. "No one will try and stop you as long as you have this." She handed it to him and he took it. "I regret with how things had to end, but if there is still a castle standing after this mess, return. We could use a m—"

"Monster like me?" Dark cut in. Lady Helena paused but instead of growing angry a clever smile curled at the corner of her lips.

"Man, Sir Dark. We could use a man like you." She finished and came around the desk to stand in front of him. "Sometimes," she reached up and clasped Dark on his shoulder, "people have to do bad things in order to survive." A knowing look entered her eyes and she reached into the folds of her dress and produced a glittering dagger. The hilt was encrusted with simple jewels and silver but the blood red ruby was marred, as if it had seen fire. She studied it, memories flowing over her eyes before she lifted them to Dark's. "This dagger belonged to my father. Our tribe was small, hindering on the outskirts of the desert and so always held the threat of bandits but it seemed that the threat was never real…until one morning…" she paused and Dark waited, "when I was a girl of only thirteen years my family was butchered by a bandit, his name long forgotten now. Using this very dagger, I took his life and in turn was considered a murderer for this bandit was under employment of the neighboring Lord. It was only with help from the new King and Queen that I was able to clear my name. They saw past my bloody exertions, past my rage at the world." Her gaze was level, her face stoic as she replaced the dagger within her dress. "You are a good man, Sir Dark. The world branded you a monster before seeing the man within but now things are different. Don't deny yourself that." She turned from him to leave, "Remember that," she called back to him before leaving the office. Dark stood there, mulling over the story she'd told him.

The woman was certainly full of surprises…

Tucking the envelope within his tunic he left the office as well. Heading for the stables he suddenly had the longing to see her.

To see Zelda…

But it would be no use…

It was better this way…

Better for him to disappear from her life altogether and without conflict...

To slip away into the shadows…

He caught the light of the setting sun and deciding that he wanted to stand on the wall and watch the sun set had him climbing the stone steps. For once he wanted to do something as simple as this as a free man before he was hunted yet again. He paused along the wall, turning and facing the hills. He clasped his hands lightly behind his back as he surveyed the land in the distance. The sun was just now beginning to slip beyond the horizon, casting the kingdom in fiery red.

It almost seemed to be burning…

The thought sat ill with him, which was ironic considering at one point he would have been the one to happily hold the torch. He'd half expected his cold, unfeeling self to return now that the bond between himself and Link had been all but severed due to him being cured of the deadly poison but instead he'd remained the same, with the lack of Link's personal emotions.

So why was he still like this?

Irritated, he shifted, his dark mood seeping out to make the guards stationed there uneasy. Despite being several feet away on the watch towers they shrank back from him, their hands tightening on the shafts of their pike spears.

This was all so trivial…

Link was now awake…

Lady Helena had released him…

He could leave…

But instead of going and mounting Stryder and leaving through the gates he remained where he was, staring out over the hills.

She'd spent all day with him…

The thought rolled around in his head, leaving a bitter taste in his mouth but what right did he have to be jealous?

None…

He was the one who pushed her away, he was the one who decided that they couldn't be together. He grimaced, regret washing over him but he knew it was for the best. He would never be accepted as anything else but a monster from the people of Hyrule despite Lady Helena's words.

Still…

He wish he could've felt her one last time…

Finding this wishful thinking now trivial and his time running short along with the setting sun, Dark turned to descend the steps when he caught sight of golden hair.

Zelda…

Her head was high, her back straight and she carried herself with a dignity of a queen. For once her face did not hold so much pain, as if she'd relaxed and he knew why. Instead of jealousy and hate boiling up inside him he instead was oddly…content.

As long as Link could make her happy…

As long as he could keep her safe…

He descended the steps, knowing that Stryder was already ready in the stables for him but instead of turning to disappear straight into the stables he paused. As if sensing he was close, Zelda stopped, swiveling her head to catch sight of him. There was no visible reaction in her face but Dark did something he had never done before nor thought he would do.

He bowed…

He placed his hand over his heart and dipped his head low, hoping she would know the full meaning behind it. After a few moments which felt like an eternity he straightened, half expecting Zelda to already be gone but she wasn't. She remained where she was, watching him but he'd said his farewell and had gotten his wish. Spinning on his heel he disappeared into the stables.

As promised Stryder was saddled and ready and whispering a greeting to the stallion he went to mount up when a voice stopped him.

"Where are you going?" Zelda stepped into the stable, the lantern light washing over her confused face. He paused, silently cursing himself for wasting time.

"I'm leaving, Lady Helena has released me from her service." He responded, keeping his voice level.

"I see," Zelda looked from him to Stryder and then back to him. "I suppose this is for the best," she murmured and Dark closed his eyes, fighting back an overwhelming urge to sweep her into his arms one last time.

"Thank you." The two words surprised him and he slowly turned to face her. Oddly enough she was smiling at him and he felt his resolve dissipating inside his chest. "Despite our differences, I am grateful to you for helping Link and I, and in turn the Kingdom of Hyrule." Her smile softened, as did her beautiful blue eyes. "Perhaps…perhaps someday when things return to as they were…you'll…you'll visit?" He could see how she struggled to say the words and he softly smirked at her.

What a silly Princess…

"You're a silly Princess," he voiced aloud, his tone soft and teasing as he stepped close to her. Wrapping one arm around her waist and cupping her chin he tilted her face up and kissed her.

She was surprised, but didn't resist as he softly pressed his lips against hers. Warmth, her warmth, seeped into him and he held onto it, wanting to trap it inside him so that he could always remember what she felt like, what she tasted like. He pulled her in tighter against him, but not harshly, no for once he wanted her to remember him as gentle, not as rough and dominating.

But he wanted her…

He could feel it in his blood, could feel the warmth turn into a searing heat but he restrained himself, only wanting to caress her loveliness, not crush it.

She responded in kind, melting into him and tilting her head back so that she gave him better access to her lips. Time melted away, the only thing mattering to him in this moment was her.

So he savored her…

Cherished her…

And finally when it seemed like he could drown in her soft, warm kisses, he withdrew, his fingers gently trailing her jaw to touch her kiss swollen lips. Her face was flushed, her mesmerizing eyes glazed and full of that same hunger but he knew that this was all they could share.

Leaning in one last time he kissed her forehead and whispered, "Goodbye…Zelda." Her name fell from his lips and he too, savored the feeling of saying her name, of the freedom it gave him before turning and mounting Stryder. Knowing if he looked at her he'd stay forever despite the consequences so he squared his gaze forward and spurred Stryder onward. With a toss of his head, the animal obeyed and with a bound carried them out of the stables and through the gate.

Leaving a trail of dust behind them…

VVVV

Zelda watched him go…

Her whole body was warm, buzzing and filled with a soft light but she felt as if she couldn't think.

He'd said her name…

Not once in all their time together had he spoken her name. It was only Princess, never her real name.

Now he was gone…

She reached up, her fingers touching her still warm lips and she actually found herself smiling, though it was a sad little smile. The kiss was unexpected, but she found herself hoping for it in the end. It was gentle and wonderful and she knew that she'd keep it forever in her heart.

Just like she would him…

Dropping her hand she left the stable, heading for the side courtyard where she was to meet the scouts. Sure enough they were there, all looking tired and worn but greeted her with a bow.

"What have you found out?" She questioned and one handed her a slip of parchment.

"Their numbers range in hundreds, nearly a thousand Your Highness." He answered and she frowned.

Why such a small army?

"However," he seemed forlorn and gestured to the piece she held, "we discovered a correspondence on route to one of the generals and intercepted it. The news is grave." And by the look on his face it seemed to be. Zelda unrolled it and quickly read through the lines.

Her stomach dropped…

Her fingers turned to ice…

It couldn't be…

Rolling the paper back up she raised her eyes to the scouts.

"You've done well," she gestured for them to leave with her hand, "eat and rest. You'll need your strength for the following days to come." They bowed respectfully to her before doing as she wished, leaving her alone in the side court yard. Unrolling the paper again she studied the order and her stomach twisted.

All those raids…

All those disappearing villagers…

It had been Ganondorf all along…

He'd been having his minions kidnap villagers and in turn having his general Zant, turn them into monsters. Monsters that Link had so delicately described to her. Monsters that he knew how to defeat but how could they defeat what were the people of Hyrule? No, there had to be another way, another way to curing them, of ridding them of Zant's curse, but how?

Curling her fingers into her palms she racked her brain, trying desperately to think of something more powerful than that of Zant's dark magic.

Then it hit her…

The Master Sword…

It was capable of cleansing all forms of evil, perhaps there was a way they could channel its power to free the villagers. Turning on her heel she sprinted back for the castle. Outside Link's room she knocked once before entering. He was still in his bed, eyelids half closed from need of sleep but at her presence they snapped open and he was awake.

"What's wrong?" He asked and she quickly showed him the paper.

"It's Zant, the minion of Ganondorf's you mentioned. He's created his own army from the people of Hyrule." She explained and Link's eyes widened in alarm before narrowing in anger. Muttering an obscurity underneath his breath after reading the parchment he straightened his shoulders.

"What is your plan then?" He asked as she lowered onto the bed beside him.

"The Master Sword, its power can cleanse all forms of darkness, can it not?" She asked and Link furrowed his brows, thinking.

"Yes, but on so many all at once? I do not know," he answered honestly and Zelda nodded in agreement.

"I know, but if there was a way to somehow channel it, would you be able to wield it?" She asked and he dipped his head in agreement.

"But how would we channel it?" He questioned and she paused, thinking hard.

"Perhaps a beam of some sorts? If we could produce a ray of light from the Master Sword and then in turn pierced the army with it, the light would be enough to free them, yes?" The idea seemed ludicrous but Link actually seemed to agree with it.

"Yes, and to produce the beam we would need mirrors. I've seen the Gerudo people use such things as a form to create light." He threw the sheets off of his legs and tried to stand. "We don't have any time to loose, let's—" his words were cut off with a yelp as he wobbled and nearly crashed to the floor but Zelda steadied him, pushing him back onto the bed.

"You're not yet ready, Link. Remember you haven't been out of bed in weeks. Your body needs time to regain its strength. I know the tactic you speak of, I can handle it. You focus on regaining your strength for you are the only one that can wield the Master Sword." Her words were firm but not harsh and Link seemed like he wanted to argue but he knew she was right.

"Very well," he whispered, defeated but Zelda smiled at him.

"We will do this, Link, together. Now rest." She tucked him back in, smiled at him once more, and was out of the room.

It was to be a busy night…

But…

She had hope…

VVVV

"You are sure they intercepted it?" The dark voice made Zant shiver and shake. The power from his master was nearly overpowering but he nodded, trembling.

"Yes Master, they will think our army is small." He clicked his teeth together, his eyes roaming out over the twisted shapes below the cliff.

"Good." The voice laughed and Zant nearly cowered away but he felt his own smile spreading across his lips.

Stupid Princess…

The villagers were only the front of the army…

Behind them…

Was an army of demons…

As if to prove his point, the undead rose from the black mist, bones like ash spewing forth with skulls that held red eyes. On the evening of the morrow they would attack, and the princess would be powerless against them. For their army was not in the hundreds, no it was in the thousands and by nightfall there would be no weakness that could destroy it.

Hyrule…

Was doomed…

VVVV

Dark rode silently along the southern hills…

He didn't have a destination in mind, simply let Stryder follow along the path. His thoughts were back at Hyrule castle, in the stables where he'd held her close. He sighed, but despite his mind being elsewhere he felt Stryder tense, his head swiveling to the left as his ears laid flat back against his head.

"Who's there?" Dark demanded, keeping his voice calm. The nearly full moon bathed the countryside in white, milky light so he could see in every direction but the figure melted out of a shadow of a tree.

Ash colored bones…

Bright green eyes…

Dark pulled the Dark Mastersword free, keeping a tight rein on Stryder as the stallion danced to the side, keeping Dark away from the reach of the Stalfos's sword.

The Stalfos, an eery intelligence burning bright in the green flames of its eye sockets, paused, seemingly to size Dark up before stepping clear of the tree. His jaw now seemed to be mended from when Thomas had shot him with the arrow and he seemed to remember it for he glanced about.

"No brat?" It croaked and Dark, still on alert, answered.

"No, no brat." He racked his eyes up and down the unearthly creature, wondering why it had chosen to appear before him. "What are you doing here? What do you want?" He demanded and the skeleton clacked its jaw, the sound of grating bone sending a shiver down his spine.

"Good, mere humans not understand." He answered and shifted, the now ill fit armor sliding over the bones of the creature. "Come, to warn." The last word made Dark pause, but still he kept the Dark Mastersword ready in case the creature tried to attack him.

"What are you talking about?" He kept his gaze level with the Stalfos as it twitched, as if trying to form the words in its mind before speaking.

"He raises an army of undead, the souls are angry…not right what he has done…Dark Hero," he stepped forward but Stryder rumbled a warning. Dark hushed him and dismounted so that he could face the Stalfos squarely.

"Why tell me this? Don't you want to be able to roam the world freely?" His questions only seemed to make the Stalfos angry, as if he were trying to explain the most simple task to that of a small child. Frustrated his teeth clacked together and the flames of his eyes grew brighter.

"No, we are meant for another world…not this, this is not our home…we must return…no peace here…" he rumbled and Dark visibly remained impassive while inwardly he pondered the situation.

So…

He'd raised an army of undead to attack Hyrule castle. It wouldn't matter, they would dissipate within a day.

"They'll be gone within a day, once the sun rises." Dark lowered the Dark Mastersword but still kept his grip firm, "They should return to your world then." The Stalfos shook his head in disagreement.

"No…he holds a curse over them…one that can only be broken with his death." At that odd piece of news Dark sighed softly through his nose.

"And I suppose you wish me to kill him, why? The Hero of Time, the one who is destined to destroy him is alive and well. He can do the job." But again the Stalfos shook his head.

"Too weak…cannot do alone…" He reputed and Dark bit his tongue.

Just who was this creature to know everything?

"Then he has the Princess, the one who is destined to fight by his side." He quipped but to his odd shock and utter annoyance the Stalfos again disagreed.

"She cannot, she does not know the upcoming threat…they will lose…and my kind will be doomed to roam this land for eternity. You must lend aide." His voice had grown with strength and the conviction in it nearly made Dark laugh.

How surreal this was…

Here he was, talking to a Stalfos, about defeating Ganondorf and saving the land of Hyrule…a Stalfos of all things who seemed to know an awful lot of how things seemed to be working.

"How do I know I can trust anything you say? You are after all, a Stalfos, not to mention you attacked me before and don't you find it odd that a creature of darkness should know so much about what Ganondorf plans on doing, but is not in alliance with him? Odd indeed." His voice was callous, cold but the Stalfos seemed to take no insult from it.

"A misunderstanding before…with the brat and old man…" he echoed and then chattered to himself before speaking again, "A creature of black I am…but only in this world…you Dark Hero, are much the same, look at much the same. I help my kin but I cannot do alone." He finished and though the words were simple, he could see the honesty in the flames.

Damn it…

"Very well," he sheathed his sword and crossed his arms over his chest, "what is it you'd have me do?" He asked and the Stalfos stared at him.

As if he were shocked that Dark agreed…

But then he seemed to smile…

And Dark wished he hadn't…
