Takao hummed as he swept up the bar. The lunch rush had just about cleared out and the bar was finally peaceful again. It had been a while since the three friends had decided on the business venture and Takao couldn't be happier. The good days very much out numbered the bad and spending every day with Himuro and Kasamatsu was been awesome. Plus, Kuroko's last visit was extremely fun. It hadn't been long since they had graduated high school, but still...those days of hanging out with the blue-haired enigma were becoming increasingly rare and deeply appreciated. He smiled wide as he practically danced across the floor, swinging the broom in wide motions. He froze when he heard the door to the bar jingle. He ripped out one of his earbuds and turned, shining his award winning smile, "Welcome!" His eyes landed on the customer, and his smile immediately dropped. "Oh shit"
"Indeed" Akashi glared. The man was wearing an all black suit, black shirt and all red tie. His hands were in pockets, his posture composed and relaxed, a deadly look in his eyes. Takao didn't know that the normally intimidating man could look so much more...frightening. The aura alone was enough to almost knock the older man off his feet. Takao gulped involuntarily.. "Yes, you should be afraid. Care to tell me how you got my number?" Akashi asked, tilting his head with a sinister smirk on his lips.
Takao gulped again, "Uh...well...f-from Tetchan's phone?"
"Is that so?" Akashi's eyes closed, a strangely sweet smile replacing his smirk, "And why, may I ask, did you have Tetsuya's phone?" Akashi asked, his voice calm, polite, and steady. Takao didn't know why but he really hoped the red head would just go back to being dark and angry. For some reason, this...polite Akashi seemed much more dangerous. A shiver ran down the older man's spine.
"He came for a visit" Takao replied, not being able to help the very slight tone of happiness. Kuroko was one of his favorite people, after all.
"Hmm. And this?" Akashi asked, slowly pulling his phone from his pocket and clicking the device on. He turned the screen to face Takao. "Care to tell me what this is?"
"A picture?" Takao offered with a goofy smile. Takao was quickly regaining his composure. He smirked inwardly, finally seeing the situation for what it really was: A young man, coming to inquire about the person he was in love with. In other words, the young master was jealous. 'Poor Akashi-chan' Takao thought to himself. Unfortunately for Akashi, Takao had an incredible mean streak when it came to things like this.
"I don't care for smart ass answers" Akashi replied.
"Well~..." Takao replied, a devious glint hanging in his eyes.
"Of course you don't, but that's all you'll ever get out of him" Kasamatsu said emerging from the back room, effectively shutting Takao up. He had listened to the conversation from the back and even though he could only hear what was going on, he knew when Takao was planning to do something bad, just from his tone. He sighed and placed a crate of wine bottles on the counter and stepped in front of Takao defensively. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't try to scare my business partner".
"Hehe, Awww I wasn't scared" Takao smiled, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. Though, he was so happy his friend was trying to stick up for him that his chest welled with pride.
"Oh yes, you, Tatsuya, and Kazunari own this place together, isn't that right?"
"That's right" Kasamatsu said, lowering his eyes slightly, "Should you be using such informal names for those who are older than you?"
"Why? I'm a customer, after all" Akashi replied.
"You haven't purchased anything" Takao said from behind Kasamatsu.
"So..if you like, why don't you take a seat? We have a nice selection of refreshing teas on our lunch menu" Himuro said, walking into the main floor as well. He wiped his hands on a rag and placed it carefully in one of the pockets on his apron. He smiled kindly at Akashi, stepping next to Kasamatsu, in front of Takao. "And since you're on good terms with our dear Tetchan, it'll be on the house, of course"
Akashi lowered his eyes at the trio but eventually, silently, took a seat by the bar. The trio shared a smile, passing an understanding among themselves. Himuro went to the kitchen to prepare the tea while Kasamatsu and Takao kept Akashi company. "Ne, Akashi-kun, you're dressed rather nicely today. You look like a business man"
"I am a business man"
"Takao, you know this is Akashi Seijuro, right? Of the Akashi Corporation?" Kasamatsu asked with a raised brow.
"EHHHH?!" Takao screamed, "IS THAT TRUE?"
"Yes" Akashi replied simply.
"You really didn't know?" Kasamatsu asked, though it sounded more like a statement than an actual question.
"Is that so, is that so~?" Takao hummed. Akashi sighed inwardly. Here it comes. Normally when someone found out Akashi was from a rich family one of two things would happen. Either the person will ask Akashi for something, try to get in his favor, in not a very subtle way, or they cower in fear of incurring his wrath. "It must be hard on you, huh?" Takao folded his arms over his chest and nodded. "I can't imagine"
Akashi stared at Takao, refusing to show his shock, "What?" He asked.
"Welllll...You seem really mature, sure." Takao closed his eyes and tilted his head, "But you're just a high school student, after all." Takao nodded, agreeing with himself, "It must be hard work. Keeping up with school, doing the family business, basketball, and keeping up with your friends. You must be exhausted. I could never do all that"
"Because you're lazy" Kasamatsu shook his head.
Takao let out a loud, hearty laugh and winked at his friend, "I won't deny it."
"Tea is ready" Himuro smiled, walked over to the bar, and placed the tea pot and cups in front of Akashi. "I also brought some snacks" Himuro said as he poured the tea for his friends.
"Ya-hoo!" Takao cheered, grabbing a cookie. "Blegh! Himuro! Why are these so bitter?" Takao whined as he grabbed a napkin and licked it, trying to get the taste out of his mouth.
Himuro chuckled, "Those are green tea cookies, the ones with less sugar. Akashi-kun seems like the kind who doesn't like overly sweet things. So I thought those would be best"
"That's...very considerate of you" Akashi nodded this thanks at Himuro and grabbed a cookie. "These are good" He said, genuinely shocked.
"Those are actually pretty popular" Kasamatsu smiled at him.
"Yeah...with old people" Takao smirked. Before Akashi could even react, Kasamatsu smacked Takao on the back of the head.
"Don't be rude to our guest" Kasamatsu shook his head and sipped his tea, "Please excuse him"
"Of course. Your menu is quite...refined.." Akashi said, taking a sip of his tea, "I thought this was a bar."
"What? You think bars only offer salted peanuts and alcohol?" Takao smirked.
"Well, we do sell that too" Himuro chuckled.
"We operate more as a restaurant or cafe in the mornings and afternoons. But at night, it does get rowdy" Kasamatsu explained.
"Ah...I suppose that'll help with revenue" Akashi nodded.
Himuro smiled, "I feel like we're talking to a fellow businessman"
"Himuro! Get this! Akashi-kun is a business man! He's of the Akashi Corp!" Takao slapped his hands on the bar and pointed at Akashi.
"Oh is that so" Himuro nodded and took a sip of his tea.
"Hehh? That's it Himuro? No reaction. No fun" Takao pouted. Himuro laughed and patted Takao on the head.
"I guess it must be tough" Himuro offered.
"Thats what I said!" Takao yelled, perking up immediately and high-fiving Himuro.
"Well, if you ever feel over-whelmed you are more than welcome to relax here" Himuro said, turning to Akashi with a smile, "You could even bring Tetchan here as a date"
"OOOH! That would be nice! You should definetely bring Tetchan with you next time!" Takao yelled.
"Well..the more the merrier..." Kasamatsu smiled.
"A date? With Tetsuya?" Akashi sighed, "I guess he told you after all..I thought as much"
"Of course he told us! What's wrong with you? Tetchan tells us everything!"
"Everything?" Akashi raised an eyebrow, feeling extremely interested.
"Now, now, Tetchan's words are our secret, sorry" Himuro said.
"Besides, if you want to know more about Kuroko, its best to find out for yourself, right?" Kasamatsu smiled.
Akashi smirked, "That's true. I enjoyed the tea and snacks. Thank you"
"Ung! Come again, young master" Takao cheered.
Akashi nodded at them as he left the store. The three friends looked at each other and smiled. "So..." Takao started, "Who wants to make a fun little bet?"
" a bet?" Kasamatsu asked.
Himuro chuckled, "Do you think betting on such a thing is a good idea, Takao?"
"Of course it is!" Takao pumped a fist into the air.
"What are we betting on?" Kasamatsu asked.
"Tetchan's love adventure" Takao said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Actually, let me call the Seirin guys too"
"Ooo, this is going to be interesting" Himuro clapped.
"I might go to the shrine tomorrow and pray for Kuroko" Kasamatsu sighed.
Kuroko and Murasakibara stopped by the store before going home. When the reached the house they found that it was rather quiet.
"I wonder if everyone went out? I hope they didn't leave to eat" Kuroko sighed, placing some of the bags on the counter with some effort.
"Ne, Kurochin...you're pretty strong huh? Ya know I could've just carried all the bags myself?" Murasakibara said also placing his bags on the counter.
"Of course I'm strong" Kuroko sighed, "And it would've been rude of me if I made you carry everything. I'm the one who asked you to come with me"
Murasakibara smiled and gave a soft chuckle, "What's with that? I was with you anyway, Kurochin~"
"Still though" Kuroko gave Murasakibara a smile, "Why don't you take a nap before dinner?"
"Hehh? Can I, Kurochin?"
"Yup. You were a great help. You deserve a break"
"Hmm...why don't you take a nap with me, Kurochin?"
"I have to make dinner, Murasakibara-kun" Kuroko replied sternly, causing Murasakibara to pout. Kuroko turned around and began taking the ingredients out of the bags
"Fiinnneee" Murasakibara sighed, "We cuddled earlier...so I guess I'll let this go, Kurochin~" He smiled wrapping his arms around Kuroko's waist. He gave a gentle squeeze but immediately released the phantom, knowing he was going to scold him. "Wake me up for dinner, ne, Kurochin"
"Of course, Murasakibara-kun. Sweet dreams"
"Hmmmm" The purple-haired giant hummed. He watched Kuroko as he worked for a couple seconds before leaving. "I hope so"
"Why are you pouting so much, Kise-kun?" Kuroko asked when Murasakibara left.
"EHH? You knew I was here, Kurokocchi?" Kise yelled popping up from underneath the table.
"Its hard not to, Kise-kun. Why were you hiding in such a place?"
"Ah well...I'm pretty used to hiding these days. Lots of aggressive fan girls and stuff..." Kise shrugged his shoulders, "I heard people coming and I immediately dove for cover without realizing it. By the time I realized what I was doing, I thought it was too awkward to come out..." Kise blushed as he fidgeted.
"Ah I see" Kuroko said, completely emotionlessly.
"AHHH! Don't be like that, Kurokocchi! It makes me feel more awkward" Kise pouted more. He laid on the kitchen floor and began rolling around.
Kuroko couldn't help the chuckle, effectively causing Kise to freeze. Kuroko smiled and knelt down next to the blonde. Kise froze as Kuroko gently ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm and comfort him. "Well, if you're done with that. Why don't you come help me with dinner?"
Kise lifted his head, tears streaming down his cheeks, "K-Kurokocchi~~" He threw his hands towards Kuroko, wrapping him in a tight hug, but causing the bluenette to fall over onto the floor.
"Kise-kun. Please let me go" Kuroko sighed.
"Ehh? But I quite like being on top of Ku-ro-ko-cchi!" Kise laughed as he nuzzled Kuroko's neck. Kuroko sighed again and jabbed Kise's side, causing the blonde to roll over in pain. "That was mean, Kurokocchi~" Kise whined. He sat up and leaned back on the cabinets beneath the kitchen counter. He spent a time just...watching Kuroko as he worked. It felt so...endearing watching the blue-haired man work, even if all Kise could see was Kuroko's back. Kise hummed happily.
"What is it, Kise-kun?" Kuroko asked.
"I...heh...well, I like seeing you in the kitchen, Kurokocchi"
"Are you making fun of me, Kise-kun?" Kuroko asked with a dark aura.
"N-NO! Not at all! I didn't mean...I just meant...having you around..or more like...being around you...I feel like all is right with the world ya know? Like everything...is where its supposed to be...looking at you...ah...I'm rambling, huh? I'll help you now!" Kise popped up up and rushed to the sink to wash his hands, doing his best to hide his blushing face from Kuroko. 'Ah I feel like I confessed all over again' He whined to himself. Kuroko stared at the obviously flustered blonde copy cat. And couldn't help but laugh when Kise tried to use the spray house and ended up spraying water all over himself. Kise's face burned brighter feeling terribly embarassed. Kise froze when he heard Kuroko's laugh. "Kurokocchi?" Kise asked, starting to feel worse.
"Aha, sorry, Kise-kun" Kuroko approached Kise and pulled a small towel from off the counter. He gently put the towel on Kise's head and smiled up at him. "I suppose I feel the same way"
"Kurokocchi?"
"When I see a smiling Kise-kun, I think the world is as it should be" Kuroko replied. Kise swore his heart was going to pop straight out of his chest.
Kise couldn't help himself. He felt like his body moved all on its own. He launched into the air, pouncing on top of Kuroko in a big hug. "AHHHH! I LOVE YOU, KUROKOCCHI!"
"Kise-kun, don't-" But Kuroko never got to finish his sentence as the blonde's big body overtook his, causing both of them to tumble back onto the ground.
Midorima slowly made his way down the stairs. He had seen Murasakibara head to his room, presumably for a nap. The way the giant was grinning and humming, without snacks in his hands meant one thing, he had spent time with Kuroko. Midorima's chest welled with jealousy. But being the obvious tsundere he was, couldn't make a break for the kitchen immediately after Murasakibara left. It would look too...deliberate. No, he would wait sometime, let Kuroko get dinner started, and then Midorima would come waltzing into the kitchen with the excuse of wanting something to drink, and then he would help Kuroko make dinner. He smirked inwardly at his own plan. It was perfect.
It was then he heard the blonde idiot scream, "AHHHH! I LOVE YOU, KUROKOCCHI!" and Kuroko say something along the lines of "don't". Midorima's mind raced a mile a minute. Kise was doing something and Kuroko didn't like it. Kise was the most proactive of the five and he had no self-control. Midorima heard Kuroko say "don't" from down the hall...which meant Kuroko said it slightly louder than his normal tone of voice, which meant the older man was in distress. Conclusion? Kise was doing something indecent to Kuroko. He raced to the kitchen.
When he got there he was practically fuming. The steam almost visible streaming out of his ears. In the kitchen...on the floor...was a very red...very wet... Kise atop an obviously unconscious Kuroko. Kise looked up at Midorima, "Uh..."
"What...in the hell are you doing, you perverted ingrate?!" Midorima yelled. He grabbed Kise by the collar, who screamed in shock, and threw him off Kuroko in one swift, powerful movement slammed the poor blonde against the wall. "Later" Midorima seethed, "We will have a long and detailed 'discussion' on the meaning of the word consent" Midorima growled. "You better make peace with whatever deities you believe in...because you'll be meeting them soon enough" He finished, throwing Kise to the floor.
"But I didn't do-" Kise tried to say, but Midorima chased him out of the kitchen.
After the nusiance was gone, Midorima immediately turned his attention to Kuroko. Concern and worry were quickly replacing the anger and jealousy. He gently picked Kuroko up in his arms. 'Tch...too light. What's this idiot doing? Is he eating properly? What an idiot...I'll have to watch over his food intake...How annoying' He thought to himself as he brought Kuroko to the living room and gently placed him on the couch. Midorima checked Kuroko over for any injuries. After finding nothing obvious. He gulped and slowly placed both hands on either side of Kuroko's head. He slowly and gently ran his fingers over Kuroko's scalp. 'So...soft...' He thought, a slight blush appearing on his cheeks. Kuroko winced when Midorima's hands reached the back of his head. 'Ah...he must have hit his head...there's no bump or anything...so he should be fine' Midorima sighed, his hands still in Kuroko's hair. He gulped and tried to calm his nerves as he continued to run his hands through the blue locks, careful to avoid where Kuroko hit his head. Kuroko sighed and turned his head, unconsciously leaning into Midorima's touch. Midorima shook his head when he realized he was smiling. 'Stupid. Idiot. Moron. Being so defenseless. Aren't you supposed to be older? Geez...' He thought even though he didn't have the heart to pull his hand away.
"Ung...ow..." Kuroko stirred.
"A-ah" Midorima coughed, "So, you're finally awake?" Midorima asked, trying his best to sound annoyed. Kuroko groaned softly as he sat up. Midorima immediately placed his hands on the shorter man's shoulders, stopping him from standing. "Where do you think you're going?" He asked darkly.
"I'm pretty sure...I was making dinner..." Kuroko tiled his head to the side and looked up at Midorima was crystal blue eyes. "I didn't get to finish" He said.
"You hit your head, you idiot. You need to take it easy"
"But dinner-"
"I'LL MAKE DINNER" Midorima shouted, immediately turning red when he realized he had yelled.
"You will, Midorima-kun?" Kuroko asked, unaffected by Midorima's outburst, "That's very kind of you" He smiled. "At the very least I can keep you company in the kitchen, then"
"Y-you...right...that is the least you can do" Midorima nodded, offering his hand to Kuroko. "If we dawdle longer, dinner will be late. Come." Kuroko smiled and gratefully took Midorima hand. Midorima continued to hold his hand as they went back to the kitchen. Midorima would say they walked so slow because Kuroko needed to take it easy...but Midorima just wanted to hold that surprisingly rough hand a little longer.
Dinner went rather well. Midorima and Kuroko spent the time happily together. Mostly Kuroko teasing Midorima's tsundere-ness and Midorima...well...just being a tsundere. The other members of the GOM noticed, however, that Midorima and Kuroko were getting close. Midorima would give Kuroko a look and Kuroko would smile, as if saying something, and Midorima would turn his attention back to his plate. Kuroko move, practically a tiny twitch, but Midorima would immediately reach over and grab whatever it was Kuroko wanted. It was as if the two had developed a psychic connection...and it irritated the others to no end.
"Did something happen?" Akashi asked with a raised brow.
"What do you mean, Akashi-kun?" Kuroko asked.
"Its nothing, Akashi" Midorima replied before anyone else could say anything.
"I dont believe you, Shintaro"Akashi smiled, "Did something happen, Tetsuya?" Akashi asked again.
"Something? Ah...well...its not a concern or anything" Kuroko smiled at the red head.
"Don't be silly, Tetsuya, if its about you, it concerns me" Akashi smiled back.
"Well...Kise-"
"IDIDNTMEANTOHURTKUROKOCCHIITWASJUSTWETANDSLIPPERYANDIWANTEDTOHOLDHIMANDHEWASJUSTOOCUTEICOULDNTCONTROLMYSELF" Kise screamed, his face turning a bright red. The rest of the table stared at him, letting the words slowly compute.
"Hurt?" Akashi lowered his eyes
"Wet and slippery?" Murasakibara turned his gaze to the blonde, a darkness growing behind purple eyes.
"You...couldn't...control..." Aomine slowly stood up. "The hell did you do to Tetsu, you disgusting pervert" Akashi pointed a finger at Kise in accusation.
"I JUST SAID I DIDN'T MEAN TO!" Kise shouted.
"How did you not mean to!?" Aomine barked.
"It was an accident!"
"How does something like that become an accident though...Kisechin?" Murasakibara asked as he stood, he height seeming to eclipse the light.
"No! Wait..what do you think I...I didn't do anything like that! I just-" Kise tried to defend himself.
"Idiot...digging his own grave" Midorima sighed.
"Kurokocchi! Please say something!" Kise begged.
"You know...I don't really remember" Kuroko looked at the others, an innocent look and a tilt of the head, "I just remember Kise jumping me and then...I woke up later with no memory of what happened..." He said simply.
"...WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Aomine screamed.
"You were there Midorimacchi! You know I didn't do anything bad!" Kise turned to the green haired megane with tear filled puppy eyes.
"Its exactly as it sounds...probably" Midorima mumbled the last bit, just for fun.
"YOU ASSHOLE!" Aomine rolled up his sleeves.
"I'm going to crush you" Murasakibara dropped his utensils, the metal clanged on the table with loud clinks.
"Start running, Ryouta" Akashi sneered, pulling out his scissors.
"I-...I...NOOOOO!"
HEHE! There we go!
