"WENDY! WENDY WE NEED TO LEAVE!"

"I can't Doranbolt, I- I can't leave them!"

"Remember who you really are! Remember where we really belong! Remember Ame and Bartolomeo! Lahar and Crystal! Everyone back at the Council!"

"I am Doranbolt, I do but... they're our family too."

"WENDY!"

"I'm sorry Doranbolt, I love you."

Doranbolt woke up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed out, looking around his room. It was a dream and yet it was reality. It's been years and he's still being terrorized by the same dream, the same nightmare.

"Carla! Please!"

"I'm sorry Doranbolt... I feel the same way though. I'll never leave Wendy and... it's like our old guild again. It's warm here Doranbolt."

"Carla, I'm sorry Doranbolt but this is the decision we've made. I won't ask you to stay with us, I'm going to go help them though."

Those were the last words he heard from her. He tried to help them, disobeyed orders and tried to save them with along with her. Tried to save only her... Doranbolt sighed as he leaned up from his bed and went to get ready for the day. It was the same thing everyday now after the search was called off, after no one would listen for his pleas to keep looking; why would they? They're probably gone now, Fairy Tail no more. He hadn't stayed for very long after that, the others hadn't as well.

As soon as they heard the news, Ame along with everyone else disappeared. Doranbolt thought they were looking for them, for Wendy and Carla, but after the days turned into weeks and then months he knew they weren't going to come back. Wherever they were, they were probably far away from the Council he wished he was. Why did he stay? Why did he go through everyday without her?

"Where is she?"

"Ame, I tried."

"No, no, NO! I TRUSTED YOU WITH HER!"

"AME I TRIED!"

"THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH DORANBOLT! That's... that's... oh my God. Wendy."

"Ame-"

"I should have followed my instincts, I should have made her stay. I trusted you though, I believed you could keep her safe."

"I believed I could too..."

"I hope you realize this is all your fault and that you'll have to live with this for the rest of your life. She's gone because of you."

"I know." Doranbolt whispered to himself.

How many years has it been without her? Two? Three? Somewhere around that mark. He didn't know how much longer he could go on without her, Doranbolt wasn't even counting anymore. He simply picked up one of the dozens of bottles on the ground until he found one that wasn't empty and took a sip.

She wouldn't be happy.

He didn't care because she wasn't here anymore.

Nothing mattered now that she was gone, the guilt was there inside of him. It wasn't going to go away; he was slowly getting used to it.

It felt weird being in Council clothes again, they changed the outfit. Doranbolt pressed he smooth cloth against his figure and sighed, staring himself at the mirror. It has been too long, he didn't even recognize himself anymore.

"Doranbolt? You look... you look good." Lahar said entering the room.

"I don't feel like how I used to, maybe this was a mistake." Doranbolt told him.

"You're just making excuses, this is what you're meant to be doing Doranbolt. Helping people. You're back to where you belong."

She wasn't back though and without her... everything just seemed less bright.

"Right." Doranbolt nodded.

He would have to get used to it, he did get used to it after a while. Everything became a routine after a month or so, he got used to his usual duties. He passed through his days is a daze and at night when he would go to bed, he'd dream about her.

"So no one's going to remember me?" She asked.

"Well, they are going to know you because I'm going to implant our existences to their memories, but they won't remember you from the previous time you came here for your mission. You joined the guild to learn more about your dragon magic, right? Ame told me."

"Yeah, Carla and me. Everyone was so nice, so helpful. So warm."

Doranbolt blinked as he wrapped an arm around her, "hey. I'm warm."

She looked up at him and smiled, "You are." Then hugged him.

"Are you sure you're going to be able to do this?"

"Yeah, I'm with you aren't I? My second mission with you! I don't know why Ame doesn't put us together more often, we'd be great together."

Doranbolt couldn't hide the huge smile on his lips as he remembered Ame's words, how his magic could be useful. How he'd make Doranbolt a member if he so desired, how he'd be able to meet everyone Wendy loves and wants to tell him about but can't and...

"Ame, where are you know?" Doranbolt asked when he woke up.

And why didn't you take him with you? Was this his punishment? To suffer like this? He regretted it, he regretted everything. Not only bringing her on the mission though, but tricking himself into Fairy Tail and abandoning them as well. They weren't a bad guild, just misunderstood and Wendy had tried to tell him that. She tried so hard, as well as Carla.

There was no longer such a thing as the Special Forces unit. When Ame left, he made sure to wipe their existence clean. Everyone except for him. He wanted him to remember, he wanted Doranbolt to suffer.

"Doranbolt."

"Yes Lahar?" He answered.

"Where's your head today?" Lahar asked pushing up his glasses.

Doranbolt closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "everywhere. What is it though, I'm back."

"I just gotten a mission for you in town, just to pick up a parcel. You should be back in five minutes and then we have a meeting in the west wing the council members about the Grand Magic Games that are coming up."

"Right, be back then." Doranbolt said taking the paper from Lahar's hand before teleporting off.

He avoided the places he'd often go with Wendy and Bartolomeo, always teleporting until he reached the postal office and picked up on the parcel. He couldn't resist going to the cupcake shop for her though, buying one of her favorites. When he walked in though, he saw a whole bunch of kids gathered around one really tall man with vibrant green hair and tattoos on his face.

"Barto?" Doranbolt whispered.

Bartolomeo looked up and smirked, "Been a while hasn't it Doran?"

"Wha-wha-what are you doing here?!" He asked, parcel forgotten as he made his way over to him.

"Hold on, free cupcakes on me if you get off me!" He yelled at the kids, throwing money in the air.

The kids scrambled for the jewels and ran off to the cashier while Bartolomeo made his way over to Doranbolt. He hugged his shoulder and walked him out of the store, down the streets.

"Man, you look horrible." Bartolomeo said shaking his head.

"You look... exactly the same except for your outfit. What, clowns are out this year and pirates are in?" Doranbolt joked.

Bartolomeo punched his shoulder and Doranbolt laughed, a feeling he hasn't felt in years it seems.

"Ame's back with Octavia to make sure none of the council members remember us, we've been doing this once a year on the date we left. Where have you been? I haven't seen you in... the seven years we've been doing it." Bartolomeo asked.

Doranbolt stopped his laughter and looked down at the street, "I left shortly after you all did and... got lost for a while. Lahar just recently brought me back in."

"It's hard with her gone huh?"

"You have no... oh wait, you do if you completely quit the council for her."

Bartolomeo shrugged, "Ame gave us the choice. When we couldn't find her he didn't want to go back, told us we could either go with him or return back. The only reason I'm in the council was because of Ame so I chose him, as well as everyone else. It wasn't only just because of her, but after her that was the last straw for him. He tried to come back for you, you know."

Doranbolt rolled his eyes, "yeah right."

"Seriously. We got drunk one night and he realized that no matter what he might be feeling right now about her, yours was twenty times worse. He regretted not taking you with or messing with your memories about her and us. He wishes he at least did one or the other."

Like he could contain his memories, yeah right. Doranbolt stopped walking and Bartolomeo did the same.

"So what now?"

"Our team has settled somewhere nice in Fiore, a place that doesn't care how crazy Octavia is or how ugly Riddick looks."

Doranbolt didn't understand these people's names, he only assumed they were in Special Forces.

"I could ask Ame if you could come back with us, I believe he would like that. We haven't given up, Octavia knows she's still alive though she cant explain it to the rest of us. Well not Octavia technically, but her doll and-"

"It's alright Bartolomeo... I think I'll stay here."

"Suit yourself, you look miserable though."

"I am, but I deserve to be."

"Not for seven years you idiot."

Doranbolt looked up at the new voice and saw Ame walking through the ground, this beautiful lady next to him holding a doll. That must be Octavia.

"Yo Doranbolt, damn did you grow." Ame smirked staring up at him.

"Ame..." He turned his head away.

"Are you still blaming yourself for what happened? Because I've completely forgotten about it all. A complete waste of my time, you know? Instead of wasting my energy on hating you, I moved it to finding Wendy and Carla. I can see you've been wasting your energy though Doranbolt. I think we should go on a vacation." Ame smirked.

"Thanks, but no thanks. I'm getting used to being in the council again, I don't want to revert to how I was before. I'm actually keeping myself busy."

"And what do you think we have been doing these past seven years? Keeping ourselves busy." Ame smiled wiggling his eyebrows.

Octavia swiped him on the side of the head.

"Ow Octavia, that hurt!"

"It was nice seeing you all, but I should be returning back." Doranbolt said.

"Fine, we'll let you go for now. Know though that we'll be back in a year on this date and ask you the same thing, for years until you say yes. Think you can wait for that long?" Ame asked.

"Good-bye Ame, Barto, Octavia." Doranbolt said before teleporting away.

"He still blames himself." Octavia said.

"Isn't that obvious? There's nothing we can do about it though." Bartolomeo shrugged.

"True, he'll see reason though. Maybe in a year, hopefully. Wendy would hate me if I just left him alone." Ame told them.

"So she's hated you for seven years?" Barto laughed.

"It's about to be eight, if I can save him though all can be forgiven." Ame laughed with.

Octavia rolled her eyes at the boys and cast a spell to shock them.

"Come on, let's return home now."

Sometimes, people get the feeling that nothing in life really exists. That they themselves don't really exist. Doranbolt's been feeling this for years since she's disappeared, that when she left she took his existence with her and he was just... floating in life waiting for her to give it back. And he did get it back, shorty after the visit of Bartolomeo and Ame. He got it all back in one sentence.

And then he was gone.

His existence wasn't gone, but his being. He was dying, or dead, and would only be alive again when he saw her. When he confirmed it with his own eyes. When he saw her standing right in front of him, when he saw all of them. Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Erza, Elfman, Mirajane, Gajeel, the whole lot of them.

The guild was closed down when he arrived. He asked around, finding they had moved. It was a pitiful sight for the once great guild Fairy Tail and the building itself was far too quiet to be their guild. Their symbol was on there though, it was their guild. Doranbolt tore his council robs off and marched up to the door, opening it up.

And there everyone was... passed out on the guild floor. There she was, squished together between Bartolomeo, Carla, and this other girl Doranbolt never seen before. So this is where they went when she left. Doranbolt spotting Octavia and Ame passed out somewhere else in the guild as well. That was good, Fairy Tail would love them. Doranbolt was quick to teleport to her and just... touch her face. Her hair, her lips, her chest to feel her heartbeat. She sighed out a deep breath and Doranbolt did as well as he flicked her forehead. Her eyes scrunched closed before they opened, slowly blinking at him.

"Doranbolt." She whispered.

He smiled and nodded, tears nearly coming to his eyes as he stood up and offered her a hand. Wendy looked around her and skillfully slipped away from Bartolomeo and Yume, placing Carla on Yume's lap as she reached for his hand. He teleported them out of the guild, to the outside where the sun shone brightly over them.

"You looked older, well everyone looked older when we returned. It's been seven years right?" She asked.

Doranbolt nodded shortly.

"Now we're even farther apart in age." Wendy pouted.

She laughed and Doranbolt threw himself at her, hugging her tiny waist as he cried out tears of joy, happiness, and sadness. Wendy's eyes widened before she hugged him back, whispering lightly in his ears.

"I'm sorry Doranbolt, I'm back though now. I love you, I'm not going to leave you again, I love you, I love you. I still love you."

He just tightened his hold on her and cried seven years worth of tears in those ten minutes.

"You know, you're acting much better than what Bartolomeo did. He wouldn't stop crying for a day, Octavia as well. Ame... well Ame was the worse of it all. It was so funny seeing his tears." Wendy giggled.

Doranbolt hugged her tight and listened to her heartbeat.

"They told me they left the Council, that Special Forces no longer exists. Ame told me what he did to you, and don't worry. There's an apology coming your way from him. What about you Doranbolt? What have you been doing?"

He shook his head at her and Wendy sighed, running her fingers through his hair.

"It's been seven years... do yo still love me?"

"Of course I do." He told her.

Wendy tilted his head up and stared brightly into his eyes, smiling.

"Well then smile and rejoice, be happy of my return because I love you as well."

He kissed her then and it held everything, all the emotions, the love, the memories and feelings from years ago. Everything just restarted like it never ended and Wendy melted into it, her cheeks turning a bright red as she threw herself into him.

"I won't ever leave you again Doranbolt, I promise."

"And I won't ever let you out of my sights again, even if that means staying in Magnolia at this farm of a guild with everybody."

Wendy's eyes widened and she smiled, giggling brightly and jumping up and down.

"Really? No, I can't let you do that, but if you want to do this for yourself then oh goodie! They'll understand, everyone understands. They all want to see you, Natsu and Lucy and Erza, and thank you for trying. Oh we're joining a guild, we're going to join Fairy Tail!" Wendy cheered.

She took a step away from Doranbolt and smiled brightly as she held out her hand, her sleeve moving up to reveal the fairy tail mark on her shoulder.

"Come on, let's go to our new family."

Doranbolt saw his teacher in her at that moment, smiling bright at the small boy who lost everything. He smiled brightly back as he grabbed her hand, spinning her into him as he kissed her lips again.

"Of course."

"Everyone! We are here to celebrate for the new members of our guild! Two you should already know about!" Third Master yelled out.

"And five have joined after your disappearances, and has brought great pride to our guild!" The fourth one yelled.

"Wendy and Mest everybody!" Third Master yelled.

Wendy jumped up and down as she squeezed onto Doranbolt's hand; Doranbolt just smiled at her.

"And then Ame, Yume, Octavia, Bartolomeo, and Riddick!"

"Remember when they said Titania and the fire dragon slayer were the strongest? Team Natsu I believe the strongest team? Well they're nothing to compared to my team, Team Ame!" Ame yelled out.

Natsu, Gray, Erza and Lucy all heard this and looked over at them.

"Is that a challenge?" Natsu asked getting fired up.

"Natsu! Don't fight with our new members!" Lucy yelled.

"Of course, what else would it be?! None of you stand a chance against the seven of us." Ame said.

"Seven?" Gray asked.

"Of course Wendy and Carla are included in our team, back at the council we were the strongest unit there at headquarters. You four can't compare to us." Ame said.

"Ame!" Wendy yelled.

"That's it!" Natsu yelled launching himself.

Wendy quickly got out of the way as the guild all started fighting, it was playful fighting though.

"I never seen Ame smile so brightly." Wendy said as she saw him fight with Natsu.

"You don't say." Doranbolt said tilting his head.

"So, Mest?" She asked.

"New life, new beginning, I figured a new name was in order as well. Doranbolt holds too much baggage."

"I rather like Doranbolt though, Doranbolt saved me."

"Well you don't have to stop, I rather like you calling me Doranbolt."

Wendy giggled as she pulled him down for a quick kiss. Carla came and quickly flew Wendy away as Natsu flew into Doranbolt and crashed into the wall.

"Oops." Ame laughed.

"So that's how you want to play." Doranbolt said getting up.

He started cracking his knuckles at Ame, pulling up Natsu with one arm.

"I was never apart of their team, I believe we can take him if I join up with you."

"Aw hell yeah Mest! Let's show him a thing or two."

"Carla, did you ever see this in our future?" Wendy asked as their guild got destroyed.

"No."

"Did you ever think we'd end up here?"

"No, I always figured Ame would take control of the council and we'd be the co leaders, slowly poisoning him so we could be the new leaders."

"Carla!" Wendy giggled.

"No, I always thought we'd be in the Council. This is alright though, just fine. Just like our old home." Carla smiled at her.

"And just like back at the Council as well. How lucky our we to get both our old homes?" Wendy asked.

"Extremely."

"Yeah."

Wendy smiled at her guild, her family, and went to touch the Fairy on her shoulder.

"I LOVE FAIRY TAIL!" She yelled at the top of her lungs, a huge toothy grin on her face.

Everyone looked at her before yelling out the same things, at the top of their lungs. Doranbolt smiled as he teleported next to her, whispering in her ear.

"I love Wendy."

"I saw that Doranbolt! Don't think I'll let you just have her after everything!" Ame yelled at him.

"Have her? She's already mine." Doranbolt said hugging her close.

"Wendy! I order you to get away from that man!"

"You're not my leader though and I thought you wanted us together Ame." Wendy pouted.

"Not anymore, or at least not until he gains my trust again. Where's Master? I challenge you to Mastery so I can be Wendy's leader again." Ame said looking around.

Master Marvok looked up and turned into a giant, stomping on Ame without a seconds hesitation. Ame passed out under the weight and Yume laughed.

"Our once great leader!"

Wendy and Doranbolt laughed as well and hugged each other close.

"You know Doranbolt, I remembered something." Wendy whispered.

Doranbolt stopped is laughter and looked down at her, "what?"

"Well remember back when Nirvana happened? I was talking to Master once and he told me how him and the other guild masters were going to forge a team to take care of Nirvana, but the Council stepped in first."

"Really? Meaning?"

"That if that would have happened, I would have helped Fairy Tail and probably joined them instead of the Council. Strange isn't it? Do you think we still would have met and become... you know if that would have happened?"

"Yeah, it would have taken longer but yes. I would have still gotten the mission to infiltrate Fairy Tail and we would have still met. I don't know about Ame and the others though."

"I believe I would have met them, I was wondering if I would have met you though. It's strange if you think about it, fate. If only it would have turned left something completely different would have happened. It turned right though, right towards you."

"Do you regret the way it turned?"

"No, because it would have led up to the same place. Right here, with you and everyone else. Like you said though, it would have just taken longer."

"I love you Wendy, you know that right?"

"Of course Doranbolt, and I love you just as much. Now what do you say we join in everyone else's antics?" Wendy giggled.

"As long as we're a team, I don't care."

"Of course Doranbolt, we always were the best team."

She giggled, he smiled, then the two of them started the rest of their lives together.
