AUTHOR'S NOTE: Ok, I know. I said I was done with this story. And I was. Then Arrow 3.15 came along then I seriously needed a pick me up. So there, bam. No other reason.

Disclaimer: I am just a fan, an Olicity shipper FOREVER and nothing can change that. And I love all things Theroy, the Original Team Arrow of 3 and that Oliver/Diggle bromance. Arrow heaven.

I hope at the end of this FINAL chapter, we close this book with smiles on your faces because SmoakinLance is what this is all about.

"Mom, just don't wear red. Red isn't your color. Maybe blue," Felicity told her mom.

"Honey, I don't know….." Donna answered her daughter doubtful.

"And don't do that hair flip thing you always do. Or at least, don't do it too often," Felicity advised her mom.

"I don't do that hair flip thing, is that even a thing!"

"Mom, just tone it down is all I'm saying. This is Laurel's Dad we are talking about. Capt. Quentin Lance. Not some nameless, faceless bloke you date. In fact, I'm a little weirded out that we are actually even discussing this."

"Baby, I've never been so nervous going on a first date."

"Mom, just…..oh god!" Felicity exclaimed.

"What just happened?" Donna asked her daughter.

Felicity lifted the thin piece of sheet and saw her husband grinning up at her, his tongue circling around her very hard nipple. Oliver had enough of being ignored during his honeymoon by his wife. Even if she was talking to his mother-in-law about Capt. Lance, and that image couldn't get any weirder for Oliver who now hand his hands on the waist of his wife as he trailed wet kisses down her abdomen.

"Mom, I…"

"Oh, I totally am interrupting whatever it is you're doing with Oliver."

"Ah Mom, just don't do your maneater thing with Capt. Lance okay," Felicity advised a little more breathless this time.

"I'm just going to ignore the heavy breathing thing I hear over the phone," Donna cracked.

"Oh my God!" Felicity exclaimed as her husband finally cupped her sex and gave her a wink before he replaced his fingers with his tongue.

"Mom…..I gotta go, Now!"

"Dad, what's the emergency. I had to rush over from a very important meeting at the DA's office," Laurel shouted at her Dad as she entered his apartment.

"Dad?" Laurel frowned. Quentin had called her earlier in a panic. Knowing her Dad very well, Laurel rushed over as soon as she could but now her Dad's apartment was suspiciously quiet. Maybe he's in his room, Laurel thought.

"There you are," Laurel said as she opened her Dad's room and found her Dad in front of the mirror holding up five ties.

"Which one?" Quentin asked his daughter.

Laurel chuckled. "Seriously! That's the emergency? Is there a Policeman's ball or something that I missed hearing about because you look hot tonight Dad."

"Baby, which tie?" Quentin repeated.

"It depends, what's the occasion?"

Quentin inhaled for a few seconds before he reluctantly shared the reason why, "I'm going on a date."

"Wow Dad, a date. You haven't been on one since Mom, I think? Who's the lucky girl to get you all flustered. Oh no, don't tell me, Felicity's mom, it's Donna right?" Laurel finished teasing her Dad.

"Which tie?" her Dad repeated.

Laurel bit her lip to stop herself from smiling. Well, looks like Felicity and she would be getting much closer. She didn't ever see that coming but with Donna now in the picture, it looked like it was going to happen.

"Blue. You look good in blue. It brings out your eyes Dad. So this is really happening, you and Donna?"

Quentin paused for a moment to look at his daughter, "this is okay? I mean you're fine with this, me dating…Donna?"

"Dad, are you asking for my blessing," Laurel smiled.

Quentin smiled back, "yeah, maybe I am."

Laurel stepped closer to her Dad and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "well, you don't need it but you have it. Donna Smoak is quite some woman Dad."

Quentin just nodded in agreement with his daughter.

Later that night…

"I've never felt so awkward since Harry Robertson kissed me in seventh grade," Donna told Quentin as both of them sat through half the dinner having starts and stops for conversation.

Quentin chuckled mildly, "I'm sorry Donna, I haven't been on a date for a long, long time. I thought it would be like riding a bike. You know, once you get back on, it's going to be easy breezy."

Donna held up her glass of wine, "well, I can't claim the same excuse, because I've been on several dates, not to make this more awkward. But, this feels like something different all together."

Quentin placed his hand on top of the table, tapping his fingers, "did I tell you already that you look very beautiful tonight, more so than the last two times I had seen you."

Donna dipped her head at the compliment, "thank you Quentin. You look very handsome yourself. I like the blue tie. It matches my blue dress."

"My daughter helped me pick it out," Quentin shared.

Donna laughed at that, "well aren't we are pair. My daughter told me to wear blue tonight. Do you think our children are secretly talking about this date behind our backs."

Quentin shook his head and smiled, "Laurel knows that we were going on a date tonight, she actually gave me her blessing."

"Wow, well that makes it a little less awkward when I see Laurel again. My daughter was actually happy that we were going on a date too. Well, I actually interrupted their honeymoon, well I interrupted something when I called my daughter earlier."

"And that's our cue to change the topic, is it weird for you that our kids know one another."

Donna placed her hand on top of Quentin's on the table, "it depends really. If this is a one-time thing then yeah, that could make things awkward in the future. But, if we want to make this work, you and me that is, then it just simplifies a lot of future awkward moments."

Quentin twined his fingers with Donna's, "well I'm willing to try if you are."

"I promised my daughter I wouldn't do my maneater thing. You know she does this babbling innuendos thing, I do my maneater thing. But you are making it very, very hard for me not to do my maneater thing."

Quentin tossed the remainder of his scotch down his throat because it just sounded like Donna just compromised him and he wasn't really scared at all, in fact he was looking forward to getting to know this whirlwind of a woman, very, very, very well.

"Whatever this maneater thing is, sounds like I'd like that," Quentin finally said with a glint in his eye.

Donna gave a nervous laugh, "oh my, now you got me all flustered and that's not an easy task to do. You are going to rock my world Quentin."

"And you are going to be the death of me, Donna."

Donna lifted their twined hands so she could give Quentin's palm a wet kiss.

Quentin sucked in a breath then raised his hand and almost screamed to the passing waiter, "Check please!"

I promise, this is really, really the end of SPOTLIGHT.

Signing off,
