Going up?

"Oh! Hold that elevator!"

Flash wedges a hand in between the closing doors to have it open again. Fire finally catches up, gets in, and stands next to Flash, whose eyes widen in surprise.

"So ah, going up?" He said nervously.

"No. Actually, I'm going down to the hangar."

"Oh, ok." He pushed the button for her. He was going up, to the Monitor room for his monthly shift but it could wait a few more seconds.

"So, see any good movies lately?"

"No."

"Read anything exciting?"

"No."

"What about music—"

"I haven't had any time."

"Oh. Well, what have you been up to?"

"I dismantled a giant robot in Tokyo with Ice and Dr. Light."

"Wow. Sounds like fun."

"Not really. You know, Flash, I know what you're doing. I'm not stupid. I know that you like me. So you don't have to talk to me every time you see me anymore."

"Oh." His head drooped, hurt. "Ok."

She turned and lifted his chin with her delicate fingers. He was forced to look up into her perfect gleaming green eyes.

"No, silly. Just kiss me." She kissed him and when she tried to pull away, he kissed her back, holding her at the waist. "Because I really like you too."

The Flash blushed as the elevator opened to her floor. She walked out slowly. Then she turned, "Remember," she pointed at him and blew him a kiss.

"Alright, Doll, you got it."

The doors closed. He pressed the button for his floor, and let out a long sigh. He couldn't believe it! Fire liked him—as much as he liked her. He was just trying too hard.
