Hey guys! I'm determined to finish this story but I need your help...please review or comment. I desperately need the feedback. Enjoy!

Eden POV

I sat up in the bed, my screams still echoing off the walls of an unfamiliar white room. Bucky's hands gripped my shoulders tightly, his eyes widened in shock. I glanced at Brooke and Steve to see the same look of surprise and confusion on their faces. I turned to Bucky and jerked myself from his hands, completely unfazed by the look of hurt that suddenly appeared on his handsome face.

Bucky took a deep breath, talking to me in a soft, soothing voice, "Eden, it's okay baby…no one is going to hurt you...you're safe"

The sound of screams and bones breaking began to echo in my ears and I reached up to silence the terrible noises with the palms of my hands, shaking my head wildly back and forth as I felt the tears slide down my face. "No, no, no…." I whimpered softly to myself.

Bucky wasn't safe.

Brooke and Steve weren't safe.

No one was safe. I was a killer.

I killed them. I killed them. I killed them.

I felt Bucky grab my face, the metal of his left hand felt like ice on my flushed skin. The fingers of his right hand caressed my cheek gently and he looked down at me…his face full of concern…his eyes full of so much love. The room began to spin and the dizziness made me suddenly sick to my stomach. I couldn't breathe and panicked as the feeling of suffocation crept up on me.

I closed my eyes but instead of the nothingness I so desperately craved, I saw flashes of my worst nightmare burned into my thoughts. Bucky lying in our bed, his throat cut, the blood soaking the thin sheet that covered his muscled, bare torso. The white wall above the bed was smeared with small, bloody handprints and one word: KILLER! The red stickiness was still covering the trembling hands that clutched the murder weapon…it was my hands holding the knife.

Even in the darkness, I could see.

I opened my eyes and came face to face with Bucky once again…his hands still lovingly cradling my face.

I slapped his hands away and felt a tug on my arm. I looked down to see an IV was in my left arm, taped securely in place. With a shaking hand, I ripped the needle and tape from my arm, ignoring the searing pain and throwing it to the floor. I scrambled off the bed and launched myself across the room to escape the grasp of those closest to me. Steve had stepped up to stand beside Bucky, but kept turning to look behind him at Brooke who stood a few feet back looking terrified.

Bucky held up his hands, "Eden, I'm not going to hurt you"

I had to keep them away from me…they didn't know….they didn't understand how much danger they were in. I didn't know when or why or even how I had become this way but I knew…deep inside me, I knew that none of them were safe. I was dangerous.

Why? What's going on?

I shook my head in confusion, mumbling to myself over and over again, "Keep them away. They don't know. They don't know what I did"

What did I do?

I looked up at Bucky and tried to focus on only his face, struggling to ignore the echoing screams in my head. The sounds quieted as I concentrated more and more on Bucky….his eyes, the way his lips moved as he spoke. I couldn't quite make out the words but I knew by the timbre of his voice that he was trying to calm me down.

Tears were falling freely down my face and I reached one hand up to brush them away. I looked down at my hand at the moisture I had wiped away from my cheeks. My fingers were stained with blood. I closed my eyes and shook my head, "It's not real, it's not real…"I shrieked loudly. I opened my eyes again and the blood had disappeared. My hands were shaking wildly but they were clean. I turned my hands over, examining them closely and growing more and more confused as I inspected the skin that was covered with blood only seconds before.

I looked up at Bucky, opening and closing my mouth as I tried to speak…to make some sense of what was happening to me.

He took a step towards me and I panicked and backed away, stumbling into a rolling side table that sat beside the bed. I felt myself falling but instinctually threw my hands back to catch myself before I hit the hard ground. Brooke let out a yelp and tried to step past Steve, her hands reaching out to me. He grabbed her and pulled her roughly behind him. He stood protectively in front her shielding her with his body.

Steve was the smart one.

I looked past the two hulking men at my best friend. Brooke was visibly shaking but she still had a look of annoyance on her face as she glared at the back of her boyfriend's head. Even in my crazed state, I realized Brooke didn't appreciate being manhandled.

The large mirror on the wall behind her suddenly caught my attention and I groaned loudly at the reflection I saw there. Brooke was kneeling on the floor as I stood in front of her, staring down at her coldly. It wasn't me I was seeing, not the real me at least. I watched as the wicked reflection of myself reached out with both hands, grabbed her head and twisted it sharply. The crack of her neck breaking brought a smile to the face of the girl in the mirror who now stood over her body as it slumped to the floor. I continued to stare into the mirror, ignoring all the voices frantically calling my name in the distant background. I watched the reflection as Steve turned around and saw Brooke lying on the floor lifeless, her neck twisted at an unnatural angle. He slid to his knees beside her and looked up at the girl in the mirror…at me…and I watched as I shoved the knife deep into his chest.

I screamed. Over and over again, I screamed, loud wailing sobs as I stared into the mirror and saw the bodies. Flashes of Bucky lying dead in our bed….Brooke's twisted neck...blood gushing from the wound on Steve's chest.

Bucky was dead.

Brooke was dead.

Steve was dead.

Blood everywhere….the screams…breaking bones.

It was all too much.

Bucky POV

We all stood in shock as Eden crouched on the floor in the corner of the room, her hands over ears as she shook her head back and forth and screamed…loud, gut wrenching sobs, over and over.

I looked over at Steve and nodded towards the door, "Go get help"

Steve nodded his head and grabbed Brooke by the hand to drag her away. She resisted at first but I saw him give her a sharp look and with a pout, she let him pull her out of the room.

I stared down at the small blonde woman on the floor and took a long, deep breath. I didn't know what to do. I was scared to do the wrong thing…and furious….so fucking furious. I was supposed to protect her but he had gotten to her…Kaine had managed to get to Eden. I was going to kill that mother fucker.

I quickly kneeled down beside Eden and pulled her hands away from her ears, "Eden…"I said sternly, "…stop…your safe. Listen to me Eden…it's Bucky…you're safe baby. I'm right here"

I tried to wrap my arms around her and pull her into me but she bucked wildly and fought, continuing to scream.

"No, no, no…I don't want to hurt you" she wailed, slapping at me violently. She twisted away from me and I finally saw an opportunity. While her back was to me, I wrapped my left arm around her body, pinned her arms in place and pulled her body into my chest.

"Eden" I said, directly in her ear now, "…Eden…stop…"

Her screams died down slowly, quieter and quieter they grew until they eventually stopped altogether. She stopped struggling against me and slumped into my body. I tucked her head under my chin and continued to whisper soothing words into her ear. I didn't like having my back to the door so I shifted us around until I felt the hard wall pressed against me. Eden had her head buried in my chest and it was easier to wrap my arms around her body to hold her reassuringly. I looked down to see she had her eyes squeezed tightly shut.

I leaned down to kiss her forehead, "Eden, open your eyes….look at me" I said softly.

She shook her head slightly, "No…I don't want to see it anymore…"she said hoarsely, her eyes still closed, "…I don't want to see what I've done"

"Eden, listen to me. You didn't do anything. Whatever happened…it wasn't you" I pulled her hair away from her face and brushed it behind her ear. "Look at me" I insisted again.

Even with her eyes closed, I could see the internal struggle she was having. After a few silent moments, she opened her eyes and looked up at me.

"I killed them" she whispered, "…I think…I think I killed them…"

I was speechless. I didn't know what to say…what to do to make this better, to take the fear away from her. I tried to hide the anger I felt towards Kaine, tried not to let her see how scared shitless I was too. I didn't know what had happened when she disappeared at the wedding. I couldn't give her any reassurances because we didn't know what the fuck was going on either. All I knew was that Eden would never knowingly hurt anyone. Whatever had happened, whatever she did…it wasn't her that had did it…not really.

"It wasn't you Eden…it wasn't you" I said softly.

She stared up at me, waiting for me to explain. I opened my mouth to speak but the door suddenly opened and Dr. Banner appeared with a SHIELD doctor and Steve following closely behind him. Brooke wasn't with him and I knew Steve had probably made her stay put in the waiting area. The doctor held a syringe in his gloved hand and pulled the safety cap off of it as he came to stand beside Bruce. I suspected the syringe held a tranquilizer but now that I had calmed her down myself, I didn't want to risk scaring her again. Eden stiffened in my arms as the doctor took a step towards us and I quickly raised my metal arm up in a stopping motion, "Not necessary" I spoke up. The doctor stopped and looked around the room, noticing the IV Eden had ripped out of her arm and the rolling side table that was now laying on the floor.

He shook his head, "She needs to be sedated" he said, taking another step towards us.

"Get out" I said angrily, tightening my hold on Eden to keep her planted firmly against my chest, "It's okay baby" I whispered in her ear as she wiggled anxiously against my body.

Bruce and Steve stood at the door not moving but the doctor only stopped walking towards us after I spoke up again, "Get the fuck out….now!" I said, seething in anger. The doctor hesitated but backed up slowly at the sight of the murderous look I was shooting him. He turned and quickly rushed out of the room, Bruce following closely behind him.

Only Steve was left, "You good?" he asked gently. I gave him a quick nod and he too turned and walked out the door, shutting it softly behind him.

Eden relaxed in my arms again as soon as the door closed. She looked back up at me expectantly, waiting for an answer. I stared at her, trying to find the words to explain, trying to say the right thing to make everything okay again. But deep down I knew, things would never be the same again…she would never be the same again.

I took a deep breath and told her everything we knew.
