One week before the prom
Carrie was upstairs in her bedroom reading through some of the books that she rented from the school library. Each book talked about telekinesis and explains how a person can learn to control it properly. Carrie was really glad that she manage to find these books at the library, because if she's going to practice on using her powers than she'll need the right information to guide her through it. As Carrie sat on her bed reading through one of the books she decided to start testing her powers. She put the book down and looked around her room to see what object she should use her powers on. Carrie then spotted her stuffed lamb toy sitting next to her stuffed bunny toy on top of the drawer. This made her remember back to the memory of when she made the stuffed lamb float in the air in front of her when she was playing in the backyard as a little girl. Carrie always thought it was just her imagination, but a part of her always knew deep down it wasn't. She had her telekinetic powers all along ever since she was born. It also makes sense to how the stones fell down from the sky and hit her house years ago, because Carrie was the one that made it all happen in the first place.
"All my life I thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me, but now I know the truth. I've always had my powers and I didn't realize it until now." Carrie thought to herself while looking at the stuffed lamb.
Carrie then took a deep breath and closed her eyes as a way to help her concentrate on using her powers. She raised both her hands in order to reach out with her telekinesis. Carrie tried to picture the stuffed lamb in her mind and focus on making it levitate towards where she is. When Carrie opened her eyes she saw the toy floating the air and was amazed that it was actually working. However, this caused her to lose focus and then suddenly the stuffed lamb fell to the floor before it could reach Carrie. This made her a little disappointed, because she really thought that she would get it right the first time, but that's why Carrie needs to keep practicing.
"It looks like I need stay concentrated the whole time when I'm practicing my powers on one object." Carrie thought to herself
Carrie got up from her bed and pick up her stuffed lamb. She then placed it back on the drawer so that way she can practice on making the toy levitate towards her again before she goes to bed. Carrie then went back to her bed and tried to use her telekinesis on the stuffed lamb with more concentration this time.
"Focus this time and do not get distracted by anything." Carrie thought to herself while trying to make the toy float in the air. As the stuffed lamb slowly levitated towards her Carrie tried to concentrate as hard as she could. In that same moment a couple of her library books started to float in the air along with her furniture to. This also caused some of the lights in her room to flicker on and off, because her powers are really strong. The toy was almost in her reach and before Carrie could react she heard a knock on the door.
"Carrie are you alright?" Margaret said
"Oh no it's momma." Carrie whispered to herself
Carrie couldn't let her mother see what she was doing so she used her powers to prevent her from opening the door. Carrie is so close to making the stuffed lamb levitate towards her hands.
"Carrie what is going on in there?" Margaret said in a worried voice.
The stuffed lamb finally, made it to where Carrie is and she grabbed it with her hands. Without any hesitation she quickly lowered everything down back on the floor gently including her bed. After that Carrie then stopped using her powers to hold the door so that way her mother could in. As Margaret entered the room she saw that the lights were off and her daughter was already lying in bed asleep with her stuffed lamb. Carrie wasn't really sleeping she was just faking it so that way her mother wouldn't suspect anything. Margaret then placed her kitchen knife on the nightstand, because the only reason she had with her was, because she thought that there was an intruder in Carrie's room. Margaret walked over to where her daughter was sleeping on her side and placed the covers over her to make sure Carrie is comfortable in bed.
"I'm not going to let anyone hurt you little girl. You're safe here with me." Margaret said to her daughter in a whisper voice, because she did not want to wake Carrie up.
As Carrie was lying on her side she tried to test her powers one more time by making the kitchen knife fall off the nightstand while also making sure that her mother doesn't actually see her doing it. This worked and Margaret gasped when she heard the sound of the knife hitting the floor. Margaret didn't really suspect anything so she picked up the knife and left Carrie's bedroom after closing the door. Carrie was relieved and then went to sleep.
