And I told you all my dreams and fears
And you looked at me and your eyes filled with tears
And you said those three words I'd been waiting for
You became a part of me…
"I love you."
There are so much that Jade feels when Tori said that at the pier, before the singer close those beautiful brown orbs. The actress believed her, part of her is glad, over joy, if you would say, but also scary at the same time. Over time all Jade ever known are hatred toward life, anger, and everything but love or happiness, its freaks her out at the time.
But those warm and mesmerizing brown eyes put those feelings away, for a second she forgot all the pain she had in the past, the insecurities, the hurt that her parents carve into her now scared soul, at that moment, all she feel is … content.
"I love you too."
There's a million voices. Screaming that this love's a dead-end road.
But the only voice that I hear. Is telling me "go", telling me "go"
Jade brave her heart, prepare her soul to be broken, again and again when she decided to be with Beck, she knows from the beginning that in the end, she's going to be left heart broken. She was thinking about those things as a reminder, every day, when she holds Beck's hand, kissing him.
Those things stop haunting her when she looks into those lovely brown eyes, always pulling her soul closer to what she call happiness, the word that is so foreign for her, there's no comparison that do justice when she saw those eyes lit up with the smile that melt her icy wall surround her very soul. And everyone says she's not poetic enough.
Now I'm so happy you found a place for me. Boy you wanted me.
Some security and two heartbeats. Then you told me so, wanted me to know.
You let the past go…
She rubs her hands together, waiting makes her anxious and not knowing makes her more than anxious though. Heart transplantation is sound complicated enough in her head, and knowing her Tori is ongoing the surgery is what makes her gut churn and sick, she hates feeling so vulnerable, and useless … helpless.
"Jade." The raven haired girl turns to see the person who called her, Trina and Andre rush to her side with the equal worried faces. "How is she?" The older brunette asked.
"Still in the operation room, the doctor hasn't told me anything." Jade said, rubbing her thigh cover jeans with her sweaty palms. "And I hate to just sit around, not knowing what happen." She stare at the floor, her head is hung.
Trina sigh, she's been in Jade's position many times before, sitting alone in this very familiar waiting room from the past years. She scoots closer to Jade and put her hand on the actress's shoulder. "The first time I sit here, I was seven." She begins as Jade turn to see her whilst Andre sit and listen. "That night, everything went south. And I never feel more helpless than that night. Tori was having her first attack, there's just me, and the baby sitter. When we arrived here, Maé, the baby sitter holds my hand and tell me that everything will be alright." Trina smiles bitterly as she recalled what happen that night.
"My mother was in Milan, having very important meeting but rush back home after she got the call about Tori, there was storm and her jet never land, she never make it home." Trina tried to hold her tears, her eyes are burning from the action but she kept on going. Andre at this point, can see the pain Trina has to going through telling them the story; he holds Trina's hand gently, giving her his support.
Trina smiles at the action. "My dad was the lead detective on a big case, about smuggling guns. That night they're supposed to bust the trade, but their informant got caught and they know ahead of time that my dad's team's gonna be there. Instead of finding the trade, they walk into a trap. My dad never knew that Tori was in the hospital that night."
"We became orphans that night, and I never felt so useless … Helpless, because I want to do something, to prevent that from happening, I cried so hard, wanting my family to be back. I want my mommy, my daddy and my little sister to be okay."
Trina looks into Jade's eyes, softly she says. "I was seven, but even I was older now, I can't fight the world, all I can do is sit, pry and be strong. That's what gets me through for years." She takes a hold on the pale beauty's cheeks. "Jade, I know you love my sister, and will do anything to make her happy. I believe that. But now, I need you to be strong for her."
The pale beauty nods slowly but Trina still doesn't release her hold. "I know you want to help and that you feel like you can't do anything. Don't think that, you're here is helping enough Jade, you've been proving that you can take care of my sister all day. You were gentle, and loving. You make Tori happy and forget that she was sick, even if it just for a moment. You are not useless." The actress nodded and gives the older brunette a smile, a weak one but still smile nonetheless.
For long agony hours to go until Tori is out of the storm, but after that shocking revelation about the Vega's parents, to what happen to them, Jade's eyes wide open, that the older Vega sister is indeed more than what she and everyone can see.

I can hear you. I'm following your voice
I can fell the beating of your heart. Stay right where you are
I'm coming back to you
"Removing cross clamp to re-establish blood flow." Dr. Harper said as he removes the clamp from the part where the blood artery is connected to the other organ of the body, he taking Tori off from the bypass. "I don't see one tear, one leak." He check on the heart again, the stiches, and make sure that there's no leak that can cause trouble before he makes the final moves.
Taking the internal paddles handed by the scrub nurse he says. "Charge it to 10." There's a whirring sound of the machine. "Clear." They wait a moment after he shock the heart.
"Should be pumping any minute now." Dr. Harper said as he gives back the paddles.
"How long does it take?" One of the residents that scrub in asks Dr. Harper, they after all still learn and observe.
"Usually, it's pretty much right, after restoring blood flow, so eyes on the field." Dr. Harper said. "This is not something you want to miss on your first transplant."
"So... shouldn't it be contracting by now?" The other resident asks. "Dr. Harper?"
"Starting cardiac massage." He said whilst massage the heart, give it a gentle touch. "Pacing wires now. Get me intracardiac epi." He order to the scrub nurse. "Come on, come on, come on. Beat." He looks at the still flat line on the monitor, praying with all his might that Tori's heart would start.

Andre pass out on one of the chair, Trina is on the cafeteria getting them coffee while Jade passing in front of the sleeping Andre, worried and anxious because there's nothing on how Tori is doing on the operation, the doctor hasn't been updating them.
Trina is worried as well but she learn to mask it with doing something, sitting around or passing in Jade's case, isn't doing anything good to calm her nerve, little did she learn that if the operation is taking a lot of time that's mean that Tori's still alive and the doctor is doing their best.
"Would you stop passing?" Trina said as she hand Jade her cup of coffee and begun passing again, the older brunette move to wake Andre up and give him his coffee also. "You can sleep in that chair?"
"Well, you take what you can get, right?" Andre smiles dryly. "Thanks." The half-Latina shrugs and murmur 'you're welcome' and settles on the chair. "You know, it's been awfully long, and nobody telling us anything. Is she okay in there?" Andre asks, worried tone on his voice, he's been very calm about this situation, more calm and subtle beside Trina and definitely better than the actress at pressing his true feeling to be seen.
"Yes, good question, why are they not telling us a thing?" Jade said slumps into a chair near her and sighs.
"I learn many things on my time sitting in this chair, one of them is be patient, and if they take a long time is a good thing, that mean they took their time and Tori will be fine." I hope. She sounds the last words in her mind, she too worried, she wants her sister to make it, hopping that it's not too late for her.

"That can't be good." Sarah, one of the resident comments, seeing the flat line on the monitor that signs the heart is still not beeping.
In the darkness you call my name. But only an echo came…
"Okay, charge to 20, please."
Your voice will guide me through it all
"Tori … Fight."
"I love you too."
"Hey Jade."
"Yea?"
"Thank you for today, it's the best day of my life, and you are the best –one day– girlfriend I ever had."
"Sure, you're not so bad yourself." The answer make the singer chuckles, because Jade is the only one would answer it Jade way.
To find you. With a song to keep me warm
And your voice to guide me home
"All right, everybody, cross your fingers, prays, do whatever you do. And... Clear." Dr. Harper shock the heart again, they wait, and wait but still noting.
"Again?" The resident asks.
"Wait." Dr. Harper stops her, looking at the new heart that's in Tori's chest before he finally see it moves and beat. "We have sinus." Cheers can be heard through the OR room as Dr. Harper begun to cue the scrub nurse to assist him on closing up.
(- - Sha - -)
Tori lies in the ICU with minimal tubes and wire, she just have the oxygen mask that feet on her nose and wires that connect to the heart monitor.
Dr. Harper merge from the OR room into the waiting room with a bright smile on his face, making Trina, Jade and Andre breathe in relive and immediately know that he brought a very great news. With him still in his scrub, he approaches them still with his smiles that showed his perfect teeth. "Tori's transplant went perfectly. Her post-op echo is completely normal. She should be awake soon."
That was five hours ago and Tori probably would be awake any minute now and Jade is holding her hand whilst she take a seat on one of a chair close to the hospital bed. Trina sit another chair in the room while Andre stand beside her, there is no competition here actually, despise of how Trina would like to sit and hold her sister's hand as well, but it can wait, she knows how Jade's feels right now, what she's going through and if it was her who's in Jade's place, she would want to be the one that Tori waking up to.
I'm following your voice. I can fell the beating of your heart
Stay right where you are.
I'm coming back to you
Jade can feels a light squeeze on her hand that hold Tori's, her eyes perks up at the motion and she see that beautiful brown orbs come to life again, looking little tired and trying to focus on her surrounding, she stop when her eyes find the blue-green ones. "Jade." She says smiling weakly. "You stay." It was more of statement than a question and the raven haired beauty chuckles a bit.
"I stay Tori." She kisses Tori's hand. "I love you."
What the pale beauty said give sparkle on the brown orbs, her heart feels that warm heat that bring her joy, so does the actress, she doesn't feel scared anymore, she embrace the feeling of love that the singer had introduce to her.
"I love you too."
Shadows above the sand
I waited so long to hold your hand
Baby open your eyes
And hold on tight
Just keep running and we can stay up all night
Don't let go
Don't let go
